Goodluck to the UE Red Warriors Tomorrow!

COW

I just wish the guys from the Seniors Basketball team of UE Good luck on the game against the Ateneo Blue Eagles. I know this will be a tall order but I think there is nothing impossible as long as we put our mind into it.

The team has beaten FEU in a do or die match last week. That was also something big because they were seeded to win the championship. But then we have beaten them in that twice to beat condition of theirs. Now is the time to come together and support this underdog from Recto/Caloocan and Sta.Mesa =)

Actually even if they do not win this championship, for me they are already winners because they have definitely played with heart. I am also proud of them because even folks from other schools are rooting for UE. They know how hard it was for us to play these past few great games.

The Red Tribe also has been doing a great job supporting UE in it's games. Some of them even are not gonna get enough sleep because of preparations and props for the crowd tomorrow. I wanted to help but I had work obviously. Thanks for the great job too Red Tribe!

I believe...

Note: For UE alumni, or supporters of the UE Red Warriors, please do not forget to go to http://www.ueredtribe.org and register on the forums. It's our time!

Be Inspired!

I have been appreciating art in its many forms since I have taken photography as a hobby. Actually I have taken it seriously in the past few months since I had my cam. It is quite different now than when I first thought of it. It gives you the bolder and wider perspective when you see beauty and its many forms. I also see the work behind every little detail they put into it. It is hard but I guess you would really appreciate it more for what it's worth.

There is an artist named CAO YONG who is the official artist of the 2008 Olympics. I have taken deep appreciation of his work because of its outstanding attention to detail. He also takes pride in what we understand in the forms of art from China. Sometimes you do get into trouble with the communist government but I think he has weathered that a lot. In the illustrations he showed, he was treating each of these experiences a challenge. I saw some of his work here and I was definitely inspired to work more for my craft. I would not be as famous as he is but to think about it, I can do that too. The site also has some options to purchase images of his work so it would go to charitable institutions in the United States. I was inspired with Cao Yong, you should too!

After Typhoon Ondoy

COW

It's been a hard day for everyone in the Philippines. Metro Manila has been in the midst of a typhoon called Ondoy. It flooded most of the eastern part and had killed around 106 persons as of last body count. It is quite near our office so we are greatly affected. As of now, we are even running on generators and the noise outside is a little annoying.

There were several cars that drifted at the back of the building. The first one rammed the wall and nobody knew that it would open the floodgates open and drag those other cars too. There we go also with people in the office, because the floods are even taller than people... roads have been not passable... no cars, no electricity, no cellphone signals. No one knows where my other team members are, I hope they are fine though... Oh I think they just called... they were flooded over their heads and they have no clothes anymore. I think we need to help them in any way we can. We are quite late in some reports, good thing our boss understands it. It was a pretty tough week for all of us. I hope it would be better, soon!

Trick or Treat with Jack!

Tuesday, September 29, 2009

It would not be the same without JACK when it comes to spooky Halloween! He is the spokes person for HalloweenAdventure.com, Masquerade LLC and their operations. I wonder what great things he would find once you guys and gals join the contest. Yes! He is getting his binoculars ready to find that one special person from all over the United States of America who would give a fright while in their best Halloween costumes before that great day.

It's officially 31 days before Halloween and it would not be the same if you do not show up in a costume at work or at home. Your boss and co-workers might find you boring and not amusing when you just shrug a shoulder come this long awaited evening. Your son or daughter would really have the best time getting those hard earned candies and chocolates if this would be their first time trick or treating. Do not forget those not so young ones too that still feel the spirit of Halloween and definitely do tricks just for fun on your homes. I guess we all have something to look forward to, but joining this contest should be your priority. Have fun, be creative and do not forget to Buy Halloween Costumes Online or in a Halloween Store Near You.

Moreover, I would like to request one thing while you are at it. Would you mind voting for me today? Just go ahead and press this vote for me button below so I win the contest. Who knows?! I might do the same for you too!

KUMAGCOW Goes to The Ultimate Taste Test Event 2.0

Monday, September 28, 2009

It was a couple of emails to Ms Rache Diaz, a bucket load of enviousness from the previous attendees, and the great morning travel that made me go to this one of a kind foodie event called The Ultimate Taste Test Event 2.0!

No other than renowned MAVEN Mr. Anton Diaz from OURAWESOMEPLANET.COM was there to get our taste buds all jittery and excited on this great Sunday, Sept 13th, 11.30AM till 1:30PM morning at the Two Serendra, Fort Bonifacio Global City. This was the first foodie event I attended aside from the regular KUMAGCOW food reviews which I do every now and then while on a diet LOL. Armed with Trish (my Nikon D60), Kit (my kit lens), and Ziggy (my 70-300mm Sigma APO DG MACRO Lens) I was there at around 10:00AM thinking there were not too much foodies around so I grabbed my daily dose of caffeine in Starbucks and sat down lounging like I was in a state of shock of some sort. The clock struck 11:00AM and I went to the venue and found these few people:

What I meant about a "few" was "200 FOODIES"! LOL

I was in a state of shock when I got my ticket inside the event. I met a couple of people from gym too, imagine that! They gave me a foodie magazine copy I could bring home to Mom so she can read food all day. Not only that, I think we ran out of seats! LOL I did not know you could fit that much people in a small place heheh.

COW

Sir Ivan doing his thing!

It was awesome as the planet we live on, there were 17 food suppliers all lined up and Sir Ivan Dy was also explaining/interviewing the people behind them. It was awesome how they got them all in one place.

There were also tons of food choices too which was really great IMHO. I tried to arduously taste everything in site and even buy a couple of them inside (the drinks were awesome too!). I got to talk to some of them for my future articles and got a couple of shots for their posts which you will be seeing soon on this site. Forgive me for posting them a little late I was doing something (okay I admit, I wanted to see Sir Anton's choices first LOL!) and saw that I was quoted a lot of times in his own article. Geeze am I supposed to say that?! =) I was also seen on some of his pictures, I was quite shy so I did not approach him when we went home.

COW

Here is the famous Sir Anton Diaz, and his CANON!!! =P

Over all, the event was a success... it was a convergence of meticulous palates. Every one had their own opinion. I'll let you know how each of them fared and probably finish the food reviews before December LOL imagine I would be writing for around 17 suppliers. I have their contact numbers too so just wait and see where you can buy them as well. I bought the fruit konjaku juices and plan to also order from the Brazo De Mercedes lady which were a sure fire hit on that day! Wait till I get my hands typing for them too! =) What's even great is that everything that they got for that foodie event all went to the construction of the St. Michael the Archangel Church in Fort Bonifacio. I didn't know foodies can be that good in the heart too! =)

COW
This is just a peek at the food we ate! =)

Oh by the way, I want to be in the The Ultimate Taste Test Event 3.0, they said it's going to be bigger than this last one!50 suppliers and a thousand foodies just means its HUGE!!!! =)

Ouch!

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Something is really bothering me in the office. I am stressed, I have lots of deadlines to meet and I have a lot of reports to make. I wonder where and when I am going to start. Aside from the obvious hustle and bustle I encounter in the office, this chair is really bugging me. You ask why? I would not be comfortable in something that does not support my back. If you move, the wheels do not even move on smooth carpet. I wonder where I could go to replace this; I better get administration to check on it soon. I need comfortable Office Chairs!

Photobucket

It feels like I was riding a horse for hours when this problem started. It hurts a lot that I only get to spend only a few hours then stand on command so I would not get bed sores all over my back. My office pillow did not prove to be useful in this ordeal. I wish to get those designer ones from SPACIFY. Those are definitely better!

KUMAGCOW's Pre Nup Photography

When I went out with my so called friends from the dark side of Photography the D60KREW last weekend, I had the chance to tackle another great thing which is PRE NUP photos. This is the time you capture sweet moments of a couple who will be getting married soon. I had the chance to shoot them because the photographer was so busy shooting them from another side of the lake/dam where we were. It was fun though because aside from the ducks there was another subject I would be able to shoot because most probably everyone else was concentrating on those birds LOL.

I wanted to shoot them quite unaware so I would be able to capture a natural moment instead of a staged one. I wonder if it worked because they were actually looking at me a couple of times. I guess they were aware that some photographers wanted them to pose too LOL. Their photographer had a CANON body and a longer gray lens. I had my handy dandy Trish aka Nikon D60 and Ziggy aka Sigma 70-300 APO DG MACRO =)

Aren't they sweet?! =)

What You Need Now!

Photobucket

I have been posting away in this site for about three years and I have encountered a lot of problems accessing it from different parts of the world. I am usually the one who configures everything from the FTP site to the design, deciphering CSS AND HTML codes but I have a couple of times had problems with hosting my site. I wanted to find a reliable one because I get about a couple of thousand views each week. I would want to make their experience as good as mine.

Being the geek that I was, I looked for thousands of pages in the Internet to find that one special place most web masters recommend to host their site. As a budding publisher myself, I never really thought about prices because I depended on quality instead. If they can get to satisfy other web masters and owners, then I could probably be in their shoes too. I will probably choose one that exactly meets my demands as a regular writer. With that in mind, I know web hosting will be a cinch for them. They would also probably recommend something that would be cost efficient. We work hard for the money!

If I also plan to expand my on line businesses then I could always ask their experts about where to get a reliable ECOMMERCE Solution. That would really be a big help for me and beginners in this industry. I hope they never get to see the horror stories I had before when I was a newbie! Make the right choice!

Typhoon Ondoy Wrath

Photobucket

It seems that everywhere I look now there is some kind of mishap with Typhoon Ondoy. This was reported 2 days ago as a slow and weak typhoon. Now see where that report got us? It seems that PAGASA has ever been so unreliable. Not only that, I'll let you see some pictures around my barangay later this week.

Just bear with me a little because we do not have electricity as of the moment. Yes you heard it. We do not have electricity because MERALCO turned it off by a request of a home owner... they said because there was flooding but THE HELL with them! They all have main switches in their houses why in the world should everybody else's electricity be turned off! Someone is definitely not thinking! Where are your brains if you need it MERALCO! Yes I am accusing you! I hate you! If there were only a competitor I could have gotten their services instead! You monopolized a utility but you never gave us fair rates and services! We are even one of the most expensive in rates in Asia only second to Japan. I hate Meralco...I hate Meralco... this will be my mantra for this evening... they never got me to sleep last night and I hate them a lot! (-_-)

I'll let you see the pics maybe tomorrow morning when I get back from work. I hope there is electricity already!

Join the University of the East Red Tribe

Every UAAP season, I never ran out of things to do. This is because I am part of the Red Tribe. People ask me what is the Red Tribe? Who can be members of it? Why join? It's simple!

I am an alumnus of University of the East, I am also a die hard fan of the University of the East Red Warriors which is our basketball team. One gloomy afternoon in PEX or pinoyexchange.com alumni's and students of the school just wanted to meet and support the team and every sport the University of the East had to go to. I came along just so I could see them too and support my team in the UAAP. With die hard fans like us, it's not really surprising to just call ourselves the Red Tribe. We always are present in games and support the players and students as well. Now we are a force to be reckoned with every single time we are seen in the Araneta Coliseum. We are also recognized a lot of times in local tv. I wonder how famous we are right now LOL.

Even so, I would like to invite UE alumnis, faculty, supporters and students to join the Red Tribe simply by registering in http://forum.ueredtribe.org and show your support this upcoming finals game between the University of the East Red Warriors and the Ateneo Blue Eagles. The only thing we ask for is to make known of your presence and join us when we go to games at every venue the warriors play. They need our help now so make sure you drop by the site and look for the moderators and administrators of that forum. You can also join in the chatroom because I'm sure there are always people supporting the Alma Mater wherever and whenever we may be.

This is just an invite of some sort, make sure you drop by okay?! ^_^

Earn More!

Friday, September 25, 2009

I am not a professional photographer and I would like to be one in the future. This hobby of mine has taken me places that I have never seen and has got me into getting more friends each time I go out for a photo walk. In this industry, it is so difficult to penetrate the market because there are already hundreds of photographers that have given their time and effort to an industry where only the best of the best survive. Your work literally makes you who you are and it tells how people appreciate your work. When you are clueless where to start and how to begin, there are programs suitable for you in this Get Paid To Draw Program.

Photobucket

Photobucket

I have taken some photos and sold it for a couple of dollars for stock photos. Aside from that, there are several photos of mine that have reached local TV and sometimes I do not get paid for that. Although I have been looking for some way to pursue this as a career, it has not materialized because I lack the knowledge in the industry. Maybe I should consider taking professional help in photography. I may not be the only one who is thinking how to earn from it and the artworks I do.

This program I mentioned above would show you how to do this easily. It will tell you how to make your pictures and artwork viable for commercial use. It will also tell you how to start and profit on things you are doing right now. There are tons of marketing and investment techniques available to get started in the industry. Not to mention 3 hours of demonstration videos so you would not get lost in translation. After all, it's not a onetime money making system because it is a residual income opportunity per art submitted. Make sure you grab this now to learn from those who already have done it! I am going to start this with or without you; do you want to be left behind?

UE Red Warriors wins versus FEU Tamaraws

It was a great victory again for the University of the East Red Warriors 78-72 as they slaughtered Far Eastern University at the Araneta Coliseum this morning. I was supposed to go there if it were not for office work, but I guess nature has some sort of way reminding me of every bit of the action.

People were already watching the show live on TV when I arrived in the office. I was really so scared because in the first 3 quarters FEU was already a couple of points ahead. In the last quarter however, UE reigned supreme in shooting as they got the lead again and chose this battle ground to kill the hopes of the Tamaraws. Now the great chance of getting the championship is on their hands as the battle Ateneo Blue Eagles on Sunday.

I will be watching that live and I would not be scheduling anything on that day by hook or by crook! LOL

Here are some shots from last week when I got the chance to sneak in my camera in Araneta!
