I went down stairs to buy a pack of cigarettes and food so I can munch something while spending the night here in the office. Lo and behold I saw an old friend who apparently owes me a couple of thousand bucks since time in memorial. You know those guys who ask you for favors and borrow money from you every now and then? He is a representation of that for me. I always ask him to pay me back because the amount he owes me is no joke. This is a pretty big sum of money even if you convert it into dollars. It has been 2 years since I asked him for it and you know what he did when I saw him?! He brushed me off like I did not even exist. We were literally right beside each other and I knew he saw me already. He planned to actually go out of the local 7-11 store and probably escape me but I was already on my way out. I called his attention and he acted surprised. Gee that was a very awkward moment. But I directly asked him about the money he owed me and said he was going to pay me back as soon as he gets his pay check. He got his IPHONE out and took my number; imagine he had a better phone than I do but never bothered to pay me back all those years. What can I do and who am I to complain about people like these? They do not even care about their family name; which in my dictionary is very condescending.
I know he even had bad credit auto loans when I saw him the last time. I did not think he could pay off that debt anyway because aside from that, he lost his job from IBM. Maybe it was a bad year but I really do not think it is a nice thing to brush off people who you owe money from right? He should have at least asked me to extend his already broken promises; so I could have at least reconsidered. I just hope he gets to fix his life and pay me back soon. I wish he saved for a rainy day if that happened to him again. Even if he did some bad things to me in the past, I want him to live a life free from debt this coming year.
