We got to a small shelter in Quezon City called Child Haus, a haven for cancer patients from far flung areas in the Philippines. Aside from the visit, we're also celebrating the birthdays of Kapuso stars Vince Velasco, Sancho Delas Alas, Diva Montelaba, Stephanie Sol, Miggy Jimenez, Ervic Vijandre and Vince Gammad. Some of them, it's actually their first time to have an event with GMA Artist Center. They probably arranged this to get in touch with reality, to get on the more humane side of themselves, and also to at least make the children in this home a bit happy. That even in their condition, they would feel special, feel loved even just for a short while. It would also give them hope, to still dream, to become just like these stars... successful, blessed and infinitely happy.

The birthday celebrants were very happy. They played games, gave them great gifts and shared cakes in the program. The kids were all to happy too and accepted all the toys and goodies that were prepared for them. Later on, Vince Velasco, Sancho Delas Alas, Diva Montelaba, Stephanie Sol, Miggy Jimenez, Ervic Vijandre and Vince Gammad went in front and performed their songs, dances and gave their short messages to the kids. But when they almost were at the end of the program, they weren't prepared for what happened next. The kids lined up and went in front of the stars, then they started singing songs too, including one that thanked them for their efforts for celebrating their birthdays in the shelter. The kids then took out small trinkets and hand made birthday cards for the Kapuso stars... that's where they all started crying.

Vince Velasco and Sancho Delas Alas couldn't wipe away the smiles on their faces because they got to enjoy time with the kids, with Sancho even performing a magic trick for them during that afternoon. They gave their messages to the kids and told them to never lose hope because there are a lot of people praying for them, so they could get well and live their lives as normal as it could. Vince Velasco just did a Maynila episode called "Proxy Love" opposite Glaiza De Castro, he did pretty good in that stint. Sancho on the other hand is very new in GMA, he's set to have a lot of shows and workshops under GMA Artist Center. He also hasn't recovered much yet because his long time crush Marian Rivera just surprised him on his birthday, but still he's thankful to GMAC for letting him experience the charity event and promises he'll have more of it soon.

It's my first time to see Miggy Jimenez and Diva Montelaba in the flesh. Miggy has gone beyond his years hosting the show Tropang Pochi and is now part of the Bianca-Miguel starrer "Once Upon A Kiss". He was very touched by the gesture of the kids and couldn't help but cry while he received a card from some of them, I know how it felt because I almost did too and I was only watching from the sidelines, so just imagine when you're in his shoes. Diva Montelaba looks so far from her persona during Starstruck days. She's more matured, still drop dead gorgeous, very morena which I absolutely love. She's a stunner and I think I heard that she's seriously considering joining Binibining Pilipinas real soon, though I'm not surprised because she can definitely turn heads. Aside from that, she's also busy with guestings in Sunday All Stars, her prod a while ago proved how much she's still an untapped talent in GMA's stables. Though I'm sure you'll see more of her in Second Chances as Sam together with Camille Pratts and Jennelyn Mercado.I can't wait to see her soon on teleseryes that could work out her acting prowess.

She's gorgeous I know! She's Stephanie Sol and of course you've seen her quite a number of times in my site. She's a charmer, I like how she's so nice to people and genuinely takes time to connect with them. She's currently part of top rating show "More than Words" together with Janine Gutierrez and Elmo Magalona. She also was a bit teary eyed after the kids sang a few songs in this event because she admittedly says, she cries easily. Aside from hosting stints during events, she's very busy with guestings in other shows on the same network. I'm sure she'll be very busy this 2015 as Artist Center has a lot of plans for her. I bet she'll even do good in comedy because of her big personality. In fact, I like her a lot, perhaps see her in a romcom of sorts (with her as the lead) real soon!

It's my first time to see Ervic Vijandre too. It's been a while since we've seen him in his stint in Survivor Philippines. This year, he's in the most eagerly awaited teleserye "Kailan Naging Tama ang Mali" playing the role of Joseph Dela Cruz, the best friend of Leo (Geoff). They soap also stars Max Collins, Geoff Eigenmann, Empress Schuck and Dion Ignacio which is also a remake of the movie from 1986. We sat down with Ervic to get to know him a little better. He's really excited about the show and says it'll be in the afternoon.

He utters "I haven't been in a teleserye for a very long time now and I was introduced to Geoff during the birthday party of Sarah Lahbati. During that time, we talked and hoped that we could work together. When the story conference came, I got surprised he was there too and I told him "Hey man! This was the thing we were just talking about... and it's already happening!" so it was like fate that made us friends in the first place. My expectations are also high since it'll be replacing a hit show in the afternoon. The story is a bit confrontational, it's also a little relatable even if it looks taboo. The situation calls for it, but for me it's never going to be right. But then again, it's a really nice feeling sometimes too. We never want to be there in the first place. I'm single now, but very happy and focused with work. (he mentions he dated Ariella Arida during that bit). I just transferred to GMA Artist Center like a month ago and I'm very blessed that they're giving me a project already this early. I don't think about it too much, but I'm just really thankful for it. I want to give the roles justice of course and that's what you have to watch out for. We're in our second week of taping and I've learned that I'm a womanizer in this role, but learns my mistakes, and becomes faithful later on. I don't feel this is my biggest break, I always make it a point that all opportunities to me are done well. I'm a model and basketball and baseball player for La Salle. This wasn't in my plans but I was always an athlete. I got confused I think and picked so many. I got into modelling and got offered to act in show business. As you probably saw earlier I was a little nervous speaking in front of a lot of people... but I'm going to do it, because I find it very challenging even if I didn't know I was going to do this full time. It's one of the reasons why I need to focus here, I want to prove myself I can do it. I grew up with so many sports but I didn't know what I wanted, like a jack of all trades and a master of none. This time I want to do this with gusto, I will spend time to make this my craft.

I always spend my birthdays in a charitable way, especially kids. I always spend time with my friends feeding kids in my community in days like these in Taguig. It's my first time celebrating it with cancer patients, but I feel it's the same, though I almost lost it when they gave me their gifts and cards earlier. Hearing from them individually thanking you about what you did today was really touching and it's a big thing for them. Their thanks, it's surreal, they need all the help and importance they can get. I want to go back here on April 4 so I can celebrate the birthday of one of the kids here. It was spontaneous. I just want to go back here, in return I want to do this for one of the kids. I'll be doing a party. I'm happy that GMA trusted me with a project even if I haven't done that much workshops with them yet, I think I'm really doing a good job (then he laughs). I know, I might get to sing the next time we're here just to make the kids happy. Hopefully by then we can show them something new. Our show will be very relatable, more with the viewers at home, like gossips with helpers and moms at home. We have an idea how this will run but this will run deep, a side that you don't mean to do it. It's the exact reason why the title is like that. It's not just another woman in the mix, it's seriously going to be something you would want to look forward to."

Vince Velasco, Sancho Delas Alas, Diva Montelaba, Stephanie Sol, Miggy Jimenez, Ervic Vijandre and Vince Gammad

Meet Vince Gammad. Most of you would probably say it's the first time you've heard of him. Me too, but don't worry. Vince just signed with GMA Artist Center recently and he did the legwork. He auditioned just like everybody else and I've observed that he's a very driven individual. "I'm really a commercial model, I think that's where I started, and I've done quite a handful. Like KFC doubledown, that's me, which still shows on TV. I'm an ambassador for Hiphop International, I've been a dance teacher and choreographer in "Walang Tulugan". I've done that for about 2 years. I came from La Salle Dance Company in Manila. We've done Vegas in the past. I've gotten into Artist Center via VTR auditions. I haven't done any projects yet but I've looking forward to do one. Now I'm going to workshops and training. I haven't done acting gigs, I just graduated Marketing from the same school.

My goal is to be the best version of myself, like a triple threat, that's what I plan to be. This has been my dream since I was a kid. My idols Robin Padilla, Dolphy, Redford White, this is my shot and I'm just making my time worth it. I have a lot, I'm only 23 but I have so many surprises. If they give me a break, a shot, I'm a pure entertainer. It's what I live for. We haven't discussed anything yet with Artist Center but I'm co managed by Mr. Jimwell Salterio, he's the one who brought me here

When asked who he wants to be paired with he says "I've thought about that for quite some time now, it will be a dream to be with Ms. Julie Ann San Jose because I think she's a pure performer too and I would love to get the chance to share the stage with her. She's a really great singer, I really am a spirited dancer, she's very pretty (some off the record things here LOL). All the artists I respect them. I really think I have something to give too. I did a comedy workshop too with Michael V. and I really look up to him. When he was talking I really think I learned a lot from him, much like Vic Sotto. Even in one day I think I learned a ton. My dream project would be with Robin Padilla, I want to be more of an action star since I do amateur mixed martial arts. He's like my childhood hero. I was also a candy cutie before, I actually am ready and of the right age too for Cosmo. I'm working on it actually, I can do a lot other than dancing, and I'm ready!" he adds.

The experience in the shelter also touched him in so many ways and he's looking forward to more charitable causes to go to with this network. Thank you GMA Artist Center for arranging this birthday celebration for Vince Velasco, Sancho Delas Alas, Diva Montelaba, Stephanie Sol, Miggy Jimenez, Ervic Vijandre and Vince Gammad. Thank you also to the sponsors for the gifts they gave away that afternoon. The kids loved it, and they all cherished their time in Child Haus! They've got more things in life to be thankful for and this experience is one of them for sure!
