TENYA Opens Doors at Market! Market!

Friday, September 11, 2015

I super love the food at Tenya! It's simple, authentic, and it's the same kind of Tempura Tendon that you'll get if you're in Asakusa in Tokyo. When I heard they're opening another store in the Taguig BGC area I got so envious about the people there because they've got a total of 2 if you count the branch in Boniacio Stopover. Simply put, you're going to get these lovely bowls of rice and fresh, crispy batter covered shrimp wonders walking distance if you're in the busy office areas of BGC or the residential condominiums of Serendra. As a matter of fact, it's just a stones throw away from Serendra 1 and 2 and all you got to do is cross the street and you can get there without a hitch.

Tenya's executives promise that you'll get the same quality as what they have in Asakusa in Tokyo. The main branch is actually just a few meters away from the actual temple and it's the biggest Tempura and Tendon specialty restaurant in Japan. When the owners experienced this in the land of the rising sun, they immediately thought of bringing it to the Philippines complete with the same lovely food items in the Japanese menu. They always thought the Philippines would get a kick out of it because the staple is the same, we all love rice of course! Add to that the mouthwatering large shrimp pieces cooked perfectly with their proprietary machine that does it in two minutes! It still leaves the meat sweet, the outer shell crispy, and imagine how that works too with veggies, mushrooms and cheese! It's a good Philippine franchise right?

The store too is pretty big, and they've got very efficient servers on stand by. They would like to get you your bowl as soon as it comes out of the kitchen!
This is their Spicy Salmon Salad. It's simple, very filling and a bit spicy. It's not boring and you can have this shared with two ladies.

This is one of my favorites, the Isobe Cheese. It's cheese wrapped in seaweed then lightly fried in Tempura batter. It's next to my favorite cold soba noodles which is part of the All Star meal.

Karaage, it's light and crunchy chicken pieces whisked with lemon then dipped in creamy kewpie Japanese mayo.

All Star Tendon is a bowl with Tempura, veggie sticks, squid, salmon, green beans and mushrooms. They add in the Dontare sauce which makes it sweet and salty. Love this a lot!

To cap off the dinner, I had the Lite Citrus Popsicle which is available in 4 other flavors. You definitely should try them all!
Now you've got another reason to go to Market! Market! in BGC. They're right beside the JCO branch and just on the left side of the pedestrian lane. You wouldn't miss it. Make sure to also include your kids because they're set meals are adorable especially the bears, planes, trains, cars and ice cream in it. You'll know when you see the menu! You may visit them also at the 4 Level of Megamall right beside Dads, at the 2F Bonifacio Stopover and soon at the SM Southmall!
