Judy Ann Shines, Angelica Sparks in Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes

Thursday, January 18, 2018

I've seen the film industry improve over the years and one glorious evidence of that is the film Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes (The Two Mrs. Reyes) which is produced by Star Cinema, Quantum Films and made by the Idea First Company under Perci Intalan and Directed by Jun Lana. I've honestly been bored of Filipino films lately that I haven't seen some of them in the recent MMFF, but this piece wasn't going to pass me since Judy Ann is doing it. Yes she's got hits and misses but I guess this material was just promising. It's got all the angles in it, romance, love, infidelity, s3x, foreplay, even food and the whole enchilada of LGBTQWTFOMGBBQ causes you can think of.
Judy Ann being the Queen has never lost her touch. She cries like a river, and can definitely touch you in so many ways that you'll find yourself crying in the dark corners of the cinema. Yes I admit that might have been me, not once, but twice because her monologues was just the highlight of the film, one that you should pay attention to when her character starts posting a Facebook status towards the end of the film. You would fall for her, feel her pain, her agony, her angst and you would feel good while she's letting it all out on social media, just like what your friends do on their timeline too.

Angelica Panganiban on the other hand had her own battles. Like a woman scorned, she wanted revenge, but later finds herself learning, enjoying, moving on from the whole ordeal. She also presents the punchlines so well you'll hear the gallery laugh quite hard during the whole movie. She's going to get mad and bonded with cats, travel the world to seek revenge, then perhaps fall in love with a stranger found in the most unconventional places. She's also going to cancel all holidays for you, that particular line will stick to you like glue so pay attention when she does her outbursts... oh she's got a ton of that.

I haven't had so much fun in movies lately, this particular one made me cry twice, had me laugh and made me feel good about Filipino movies again. This film also stars JC De Vera and Joross Gamboa, you'll love how their pair would intertwine their story in different situations. As Direk Perci said "This is our opening day and I hope you see this film, if you like it please spread the word. I really hope you like the movie because as of now we are hearing it’s doing good in the box office. If you are posting anything on social media please use #AngDalawangMrsReyes so we can see it!”

Screenings started yesterday and if you haven't watched this movie yet, you better spend for it today because it's really good.

Angelica, Sam and John Launch Bright Bulb Productions

Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Had the chance to drop by the launch of Bright Bulb Productions and "Malaya"(Free) which is the new MTV of talented singer Moira Dela Torre. This has been part of a soundtrack for a movie they did a couple of months ago but they didn't have a music video with it and they started it off. Sam Milby has been good friends with Moi, John and Angelica so they decided to make this their first official venture under their new production company.Moira is definitely the talk of the town because of her songs which recently gained airplay plus "Malaya" climbed up the Billboard Philippines charts so they felt it was just the right time.

John Pratts directed the shoot with a single camera on hand and he says "While editing it we felt that the emotions was right, this was Moira's personal story, a song that was for her Grandma. Freeing someone is hard, but you have to let go even if it's painful. It was easy to direct them because you can tell them what your vision is and they give it in one shot. It wasn't sad during the shoot. I think on the scenes, I caught them on the most vulnerable parts of their lives. I want to make them a part of the cast and make a concept that would be perfect for them. It was just awkward at first but since they are involved in production they gave it all and more because they are invested in it."

Angelica had a hand in the creatives and says the process was pretty easy since she was working with people she already knew, she adds "For me if you love someone, you have to fight for it but never force it. If they don't want you, it's not real love if you don't give them their happiness. I was a bit shy when those kissing scenes happened but it was inspiring to actually do that. When I started kissing him I didn't want to stop. It was addicting. (Then they laughed) The scenes in Moira's MTV was more of an open ended wide conceptualized thing so in a nutshell we just did it without any scripts. We just talk and execute. We didn't use any personal experience or talk about it otherwise we would have all gone home and packed up the shoot. The things we do elsewhere, it was raw and people could relate to that. It was just good to do it. I didn't have an awkward phase but just followed their direction because I know how to put up a wall between professionals and friends."

Sam Milby was in good spirits, he gamely answered he plethora of questions about love and letting go asked by other people in the small talk and says "It must really be that way, if you love someone you have to laugh about things. It would be more okay to free them if you value yourself. I don't know where to cry, I was just sad there and on the scene you just have to be mum. If you are guilty you just don't have to say anything just like what happened there. For me it was awkward at first because I never worked with him in that setup, but since it's a music video it was light even if the song was so sad. It came out fine because we could communicate easily. We know our own strengths and we work quite nicely and I even do tech, so I suggest things. That's how we work together."

For those who want to see the video, here it is as posted on their Youtube channel:

Saw this already earlier and I think it was awesome. It had that raw feeling that takes you in the situation, Angelica and Sam both had us engulfed at the flames of their pain, his eyes of guilt included. You'll see more of this and their future works because by the looks of it, this is just the start. Perhaps soon, they'll get to do short films, full length ones and release it in movie houses.

They assured us they will.

Top 5 Sexiest Women for Piolo Pascual

Wednesday, January 04, 2017

The country's Ultimate Hearthrob Piolo Pascual has officially turned 40 and just like wine, he gets even better. We're at his birthday get together at ABSCBN and we're raring to ask Papa P as he's fondly called about his taste in women. I mean he's the sexiest man in the Philippines bar none but what does he find in women that is sexy?

He says "I am overly shy, I don't know how to approach people and it's an insecurity. I keep things to my self and I just talk when I need to. But if there are moments when you can do simple things and make her happy, I feel that's going to be something that will have contentment. I like it like that."

In no particular order, he finds these women the SEXIEST by his standards:

Iza Calzado - she's got the classiest look, the curves and also a very beautiful face. She knows how to take care of herself. She's very sensual.

Shaina Magdayao - she's got the curves and the way she projects it is sexy, very voluptous.

Nadine Lustre - she's got the right proportionate body.

Liza Soberano - and so is she.

Kathry Bernardo - she may be shy, but when she comes out of her shell, that's her charm.

Oh and yes he also mentioned Angelica Panganiban and says she's sexy and she can't do anything about it!

Piolo by the way will also have a musical special on ASAP this January 15. Make sure you watch it and relive the reason why he's still the Philippines hottest guy!
