Roxanne Barcelo for IWant’s FLUID

Friday, March 06, 2020

A man can fall in love with a woman, a man can fall in love with a man too, it can be anyone, romantically and or not, that’s fluid.

Roxanne Barcelo plays Mitch, who meets George (played by Ann Colis) who both got hurt in past relationships and ended up liking each other, no matter how weird that sounds to some people.

Roxanne says “I really appreciate that Direk has that much trust in me in creating a production like this. I was hesitant about this but now I understand how I had the best experience of my acting life in this series. The lines that Al Tantay told me just broke me down, he said If you’re sad I’m sad, I just miss my Dad and those lines just touched me. I wouldn’t say how it felt, you have to watch it to see how people go through relationships. I couldn’t compare the kiss with her, she’s so beautiful, she’s a stunner, mulatta, she’s very captivating and if you were my character, you wouldn’t be surprised how she fell in love with her. Showtime was an experience, it was therapeutic and that’s where I experienced how there is music in all of us. How to look in our experiences, don’t die without letting your music out of you. There was a time I got to perform back there, I would be glad to be a host there if given a chance. I wouldn’t want to just stay sweet in roles, I want very creative ones and this was a nice place to do it.”

Here’s how the presscon with her, the Director and Joross Gamboa:

Fluid is made for iWant (so download the app now), this is produced by Lonewolf Films and written by Carlo Ventura, Benedict and Benjie Mique. Cast includes Janice De Belen, Al Tantay, Zar Donato, J-Mee Kantanyag and Emmanuelke Vera. Episodes 1-4 will be up on March 16. This film is about acceptance, family relationships, how love disrupts everything so make sure parents and young ones watch it!

Jasmine Curtis Topbills My Fair Lady on TV5!

Friday, September 11, 2015

TV5's premier actress Jasmine Curtis was just a little shocked last week when Brian Poe Llamanzares suddenly appeared after the press conference of her latest show - the remake of Korea's My Fair Lady. Apparently, Brian had the hugest crush on Jasmine after seeing her on a billboard in Katipunan Avenue back when he was still studying in Ateneo De Manila University. Jasmine was actually also studying there but they didn't get the chance to meet as she was a few batches ahead of him. The cute son of Presidential hopeful Grace Poe said it was his chance to get to know the girl of his dreams and he didn't hesitate doing it uttering "It's now or never!" complete with a bouquet of about 2 dozen roses. He's an accomplished professional host, worked for several NGO's and his Mom's office. He's also ADMU's Mr. School of Management in 2010, putting a stamp on his good looks. He's hoping to get to know Jasmine's family first and of course, court her in the process. He hopes this starts something really good.

Here's what transpired during the presscon, watch it on HD:

In this show, Jasmine will be having 2 leading men in the persona of GMA 7's Luis Allandy and TV5's hunky actor Vin Abrenica. Vin mentions his small sulking has completely disappeared and says he's very glad about this great break. He also dispels rumors of conflicts with TV5's current golden boy Mark Neumann as he's treated like a brother says Vin. Vin will be working hard so TV5 won't be sorry they gave him this project, it might be challenging but he's going to do his job and promises not to disappoint them. Luis was loaned from GMA and says he's here to do the project and as Madame Wilma Galvante mentioned, they won't hesitate getting other actors from different stations if they'll make the program better. They need artists to fit the role and Luis is an example of that.

This is also the comeback of Marjorie Barretto on TV and says she's both excited and nervous because it's been a while since she's been here. She had a short moment during the event where she vented her disappointment about what is being said with the media and what her ex husband is doing in real life (says it's completely different stories). In fact, she really took time explaining that without going into details because they've both been given a gag order already - of which she's a little heated why the other party is trying to make efforts, trying to look good publicly.

My Fair Lady also stars the lovely Chanel Morales, Yayo Aguila, Joross Gamboa, Jenny Miller, Katrina Legaspi, DJ Durano and the one and only Eddie Gutierrez. My Fair Lady will show on September 14, that's this Monday on the happiest network in the country, TV5!

Alwyn Uytingco Stars in Dramedy Series "Beki Boxer"

Saturday, March 29, 2014

Punching his ways into your homes and into your hearts with pink fabric, rainbows and glitters is this new program named Beki Boxer from TV5. It stars Alwin Uytingco as he plays the role of Rocky Ponciano a simple gay guy who wished to be a beauty queen but turned into full time boxer just to protect his Dad and family's name. It reflects on the the Filipino psyche of "Family First". It also delved into the LGBT view of sacrificing yourself for the ones you love, taking out the dreams of a guy who just wanted it all to come true.

Looks promising? Yeah! I think they will be gambling a lot in terms of having this program done on their channel but with the Directors of Zombadings and the other Kape Barako on their helm, this is going to be something that onlookers would really have to see. The dramedy promises that it will be funny as hell but as touching like a buckets of tears. When asked about possible conservative Church people probably finding this a bit offensive, they said that even the Pope says a lot what should be done when there are gender sensitive issues on the line, they're right on that part to say that the Church should accept anyone regardless of their orientation.

The cast also includes Claire Hartell Ruiz, Vin Abrenica, Christian Vasquez, Onyok Velasco, Joross Gamboa, Cholo Barretto, Candy Pangilinan, Bekimon and tons more. The series will show on TV5 starting on March 31'st. We already watched the first one and judging from the looks of the press who were also there, they definitely liked it! This is a big break for Alwyn Uytingco and he's been very busy with this station. I guess it's the right time and the right project. Hope it does wonders for your career because you've been working hard I know.
