foodpanda gets Nod at 2022 Marketing Excellence Awards

Wednesday, February 01, 2023

Looks like another laurel got placed in foodpanda's head as it just copped the Silver Award at the 2022 Marketing Excellence Awards. This is for their efforts on the recent campaign called #Cravingfor Emoji Engine which they ran on the Twitter platform last year.

This was through the handy work of Entravision MediaDonuts (a partner agency) and is considered as one of three grand winners. This is under the Social Media Marketing category. foodpanda's Head of Integrated Marketing Communications Ms. Lorelei Olalia says "There are lots of food related talk on Twitter and it has helped foodpanda to reach our intended market." Entravision MediaDonuts being the ad arm of Twitter in the country provided needed awareness and engagement through their #OnlyOnTwitter format which gave foodpanda users the ability to get vouchers and see tons of partner restaurants they have on the app. This has also given them positive brand sentiments which is part of foodpanda's goal to build strong  relationships.

Guilherme de Moura Porto the Director for growth of foodpanda Philippines thanks Entravision MediaDonuts Philippines and Marketing Interactive for the recognition and is optimistic that their partnership with Entravision MediaDonuts will bear more fruit in the coming years.

Congratulations foodpanda! This is indeed well deserved!

GG De Lana and Band Set to Release Album in September and YouTube Concert

Friday, August 27, 2021

I just spent the afternoon in the press conference of Gigi De Lana, ABSCBN Music's current internet darling who has amassed millions of views on her Facebook and YouTube videos as she belts some of the most iconic songs in the country. We were told that she's announcing something really big and by the looks of it, I'm not surprised.

She's very talented, people connect with her easily and also, she's very pleasing to the eyes. She's gone far since her stint in Tawag ng Tanghalan and now performs with the GG Band. She immediately told us about her efforts on doing compositions and how they are pushing to do their own songs so that they would get to grow. Now they have a couple of songs, oh no, a whole album to be released this September.

Jonathan Manalo of Star Music says "I can't divulge specific infomation about the songs yet, but they're really good original songs. Gone are the days of doing covers, this first album is special because it will introduce them as a band and the quality is really good. They're on a different level and this album will be released very soon with GG and her band! Up until now we can't decide on the first single because all of them are really that good."

GG says "We are preparing for something big, this is the arrangement of our band and the songs will be done in different ways. As much as possible, you will feel at home when you listen to it. Like listening to your favorite songs in your garden. This is a full on music night on YouTube in cooperation wtih YouTube Music. We already have prepared a couple of songs for that, but it will remain a secret for the meantime. You'll have a lot of things to look forward to because my band really thought about each one. It's a little crazy that it's happening all at once. It's been 6 or 7 months since we went viral, but it's not all rainbows and butterfly, it's a process, we had a couple of people pull us down. We underwent change, our YouTube channel and Facebook pages got hacked. We just started from scratch, we just want to make people happy, it's like people are part of our lives also. When the pandemic hit, we had to fix our online channels, took a hit, but that didn't stop us from creating more music. The changes made us stronger people."

So there you go, you'll be treated with a full blown album soon so make sure you're going to stream and buy their music when it comes out soon on platforms, this is under Star Music.

The MULAT Media Launch

Thursday, September 19, 2019

Marine Cadets/Students who went viral recently opened the event.

They call themselves a new digital platform and yes, it looks good from where I was at their launch in B Hotel in Quezon City. They’re called MULAT Media.

I guess with the advent of digital apps like what broadcasting corporations have been doing, a new player deems okay because the Filipinos have so much data consumption to do. The need to be entertained, informed and helped is there, Mulat Media wants to address this with their platform.

Real solutions to your real concerns. For your pleasure, the app contains programs to address social issues, legal matters, nostalgia, employing technology in media, making it the perfect place to see and hear the help you need. Film making with Happy Land (football with Tondo street kids), Ninja Party, will be discussed in Cine Mulat’s first few shows. WAVV Sessions will discuss indie performers and artists indulging in music. Liza Dino Seguerra will be spearheading the show The FDCP Hour, LGBTQ+ will have fun on the lifestyle show Pretty Little Bekis, for law related concerns, there’s the show Lex Fora. Arnel Ignacio, and Bea Rodriguez will do Mulat Presents (interviewing interesting personalities). If you like Horror in your life, take real stories of ordinary people via My Haunted Stories. There’s just a lot of shows you can enjoy in their platform and yes, it will all be free!

Meric Mara their creator shares “I am an open source advocate and I teach around the country, I could tell how they live, their joy and pain. I love this project and since I started in 1996, I have a lot of clients who have improved their businesses with technology. I looked at my friend who worked in media, and if we put the same technology, there is a big opportunity in this and blockchain technology. Media should provide content, correct and using positive approach. Not to be driven only by revenue, to create content and be instruments in nation building. That is where this all started, you should see more of this soon!”

Sophie Kintanar their CEO says “Thank you for your birthday surprise, I am so happy to have seen this all come true. There will be more, I can’t wait til you see the other shows we have lined up for you. Thank you for coming to our grand launch!”

In the event we also saw Kristel Fulgar (Youth Influencer), Benny Liwanag (who covered the Marawi Siege), Illac Diaz (who did Solar Power and Light NGO projects), Venecio Legaspi (Director for OFW Council of Leaders), Joy Belmonte’s rep, whom they gave Mulat Achievement Awards to.

Check out Mulat Media on FB, YouTube and IG. Their official website is MulatMedia.com and you can download the app on Google Play and watch the shows all day starting this October.
