"Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins" a Gorefest with Effective Actors

Sunday, December 21, 2025

I've been looking forward to see one of the biggest films this 2025, an offering from Regal Entertainment intended for the Metro Manila Film Festival called "Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins".

As you may know, this is the 17th installment of the movie franchise and is already a part of tradition to see one every Christmas. It must have been very challenging for producers to put this together since the matriarch Mother Lily passed in 2024, but Ms. Roselle and Atty. Keith obviously didn't get to put off fire off their family's passion. With an ensemble cast that includes SRR alumni and some of this generation's hottest love teams, the theaters will surely be filled to the brim with fans who would want to see a glimpse of their idols do 3 movies in one showing.

Here's what happened at the red carpet!

A short review:

The story is well put together. While there were a few flaws to convey time, you'll get to appreciate the way things are because all of the characters are very busy establishing their identity, and why they are there. This isn't much of a scare, but more of a gore fest. The suspense will also play when each one of them appear on screen because you'll never know who's going to live or die. That mystery alone would get you hooked and they've managed to healthily do that in this 3 in 1 movie. You can expect Janice de Belen and Manilyn Reynes to do good, along with prime actor Richard Gutierrez.

The love teams FranSeth and JMFyang did their A game in the gory part of the movie. Individually, they are remarkable, even if the pairings didn't exist you would see how they carried themselves well. The scare factor is a bit on the moderate side, but again, this is more of a gorefest rather than a horror flick, I enjoyed that part the most because I like brutal things which you'll see in a lot of situations in this movie. Is it apt for Christmas? Absolutely, because from our POV, an MMFF without a Shake Rattle and Roll movie is a lame one. People should have choices, and this horror entry is the only one of its kind this year. People consume content like this, and if you're a Filipino outside the country, you'll see how it has been made good compared to previous years because of advances in technology, Regal took advantage of that.

With great pieces (actors who have done their jobs well), a well stitched movie. They deserve 4/5 🐂🐂🐂🐂

PS. Watch out for the scenes of Sassa Gurl because that's part of the reason why you'll love SRR Evil Origins, she made her mark, made this chance to appear in the movie a good one. She proves that there are no small roles, small actors yeah?!

IVANA ALAWI Enters Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition House

Monday, March 10, 2025

It was a nice afternoon to see Ivana Alawi right before her PBB stint which none of us was aware of. It was a simple thanksgiving event which she arranged for the support she's getting from the press and bloggers, so it was certainly a surprise to see her in the famous house days after.

Were there any clues?

None at all, because much of the talk that transpired that afternoon revolved around her success, the brands she's representing, and getting married among others.

The YouTube star will certainly be seen in a more "personal" way now that she's in the ABSCBN and GMA partnered celebrity edition of the show which they dubbed as COLLAB, something she's quite used to.

She mentioned during our small talk that most of her content didn't really have scripts and just happens when it happens. She was very witty, down to earth, and doesn't mind answering even the most controversial of issues thrown at her. She confirmed some jewellery endorsement woes are on trial which prohibited her from speaking about it.

Will she do good on the show?

Definitely. Her personality shines in her recent YouTube episodes and her hunger to even create interesting talk with Barbie Forteza (which she deems is still the same person she was with years ago) is a testament for the kind of person she is in or out of the cameras.

She also shared how she wanted to work with previous winner Fyang soon. Maybe that'll happen when she gets out from the house of Kuya.

Here's our interview with her a few days ago:

I'm rooting for her.

Inifinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G: What Can You Do in 22 Minutes?

Saturday, May 04, 2024

I
t's been a luxury to have a phone years back, but with the age of smartphones, it became part of our lives. Sometimes, it's a life line where you get the news, anything you need to know in the world as you access the internet on it. You can also connect to social networks to talk to friends and family. Add to that the convenient apps so you can buy stuff, shop, or go from point A to point B.

That's all fun though, til you see the battery turn red when you need it the most. This would never happen with the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G, because from the start... you get charging taken cared of. The wired connection gets you 100W Fast Charge while if you prefer, you can use the 20W Wireless Charging instead. Best of all, it can get the batteries charged til 100%, all in 22 minutes.

22 minutes is a cake baked, a whole restaurant order served, or a few drinks prepared. Else, it's time to watch your favorite actres, Vlogger and YouTube star, Ivana Alawi. She's got over 17.7 Million subscribers, and still represent Infinix as their brand ambassadress.

Ivana can relate as she says "These days, I do almost everything with the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G. I love that I don't have to worry about charging because it does it fast. Takes only a few minutes!"

22 minutes is the same time you spend in making a one pot rice meal, or even putting on make up before you go out. It's also the same time you spend listening to Taylor Swift, or maybe run around to get your 10K steps you've set as a goal last year LOL! If you get the Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G, you also get a MagCase and MagPad as part of your MagKit.

The Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G is priced at Php 13,999. The Infinix NOTE 40 on the other hand is set at Php 10,999. You can get them now via TikTok Shop, Shopee or Lazada. If you want to know more about it, just go to the Infinix Philippines Facebook page. They also announce promos in the same place, so if you're in the look for your next phone, give Infinix NOTE 40 Pro+ 5G a try!
