UNIQLO 2022 Spring Summer Collection

Monday, February 21, 2022

T
ook a few hours in the morning for some good UNIQLO time as they showcased their Spring Summer Collection for 2022. With all the pandemic things happening, I could have sworn this wouldn't have happened.

What's good is that in this launch, they delve into what matters most as far as wearing clothes is concerned, they call it "The Joys of Clothing" putting emphasis on the simple pleasures of wearing it. That sounds amazing in my books so I went in with an open mind about the colorful season they showed last Friday.

In it, they discussed Skyline (for a more cosmo urban look), Landscape (off the grid looks), Imagination (vibrant colors), Sun and Seaside (drape, natural textures, linens, comfy wear). They also interviewed a couple of people, I liked some of the things they wore.

Aside from that, I love the UT shirts with classic Mickey Mouse done by artist and fashion mogul Joshua Vides. For the women, make sure you go and seek Hana Tajima and Ines de la Fressange line, the color and style would definitely be femme centric. For those who prefer an outdoorsy work, the JW Anderson line does not disappoint especially those that have rope work and unconventional seaside inspirations this year. All of these are available in store and on the Uniqlo app, go ahead and get them today. You can also see it on the latest edition of Uniqlo Lifewear Magazine which you can pickup in store if you're around a branch. I'm going!

UNIQLO Spring/Summer 2021

Tuesday, February 09, 2021

This was my first physical event. Pretty nice seeing Uniqlo clothes again, inside the store, actually. Now since it's the launch of their Spring Summer 2021 collection, I am so stoked to see several things especially clothes with materials that are light and airy. Keeping cool during this season is of course, essential especially if we're all in the Philippines where it's sunny almost 90 percent of the year.

What's good is that they were able to put this event together even if we had to have swab tests an hour before the event and we were separated into groups, into different times so we don't crowd up like in the past. Everyone followed regulations so we're all safe.

This year, UNIQLO came out with really nice designs for their house collections like Uniqlo U. They've got futuristic workout clothes that are light and breezy, no heavy clumped stuff, so you can still have a good workout inside your homes. Aside from that, they've got wireless bras that have shape lift so women can still feel confident anytime of the day.

They also have recent collaborations for Uniqlo UT like UNIQLO Hana Tajima (those Japanese prints), UNIQLO Jason Polan UT (the cartoony ones), and the new one with the Louvre Museum called UNIQLO Musee du Louvre. You'll see the Mona Lisa and some iconic pieces that are associated with the museum pieces that will be printed on your favorite UT shirts

The UNIQLO Ines dela Fressange felt so lady like, while the UNIQLO JW Anderson collection have more pieces that are into the great British outdoors, and I look good in them. Well, to get you into that mood, here's a video I made from the time I went to their Glorietta 5 UNIQLO Flagship Store in Makati. Enjoy!

Now all you gotta do is order them via their app, online store, or visit the Uniqlo stores that remain open despite the pandemic. You'll look good, feel good while wearing them even at home. That's good for your mental health too. :)

UNIQLO 2020 Spring/Summer Collection

Thursday, February 27, 2020

UNIQLO came out with their Spring/Summer Collection today at the atrium of SM Aura in Taguig. Livable Cities is their theme and with that comes sustainable sources of textile and new technologies in manufacturing them. Making them all look good and function efficiently is new, they have made lifewear apt for Outdoors, Work and Craft and Art and Design.

For Outdoors, there are Blocktech parkas, UV Cut Parkas and Long Parkas which would work for the chilly/breezy times. Some breathable ones too as they’ve got Airism perfected and improved every year. They are made like everyday clothes so you can layer them with existing clothes. Even shirts would do and they would still stay stylish.

Work and Craft includes clothing that are sourced organically. From Jogger Cargo Pants, Linen Cotton Jackets, which looks like farm to work clothes so you can go wear them in either setup. Bright polo shirts, Denim Jackets, jeans all cut the right way so they wouldn’t look out of style.

Art and Design talks about different patterns, different cuts, including a little architectural so you can see things happening in the minimalist long lean silhouettes. They have trench coats, sporty shirts, Kando Jackets, blazers in ultra bright colors. All elegant and cool. Here is a peek of the show and a speech by Masayoshi Nakamura COO of Uniqlo PH.

Go rush to UNIQLO stores now and try them on for size. I’ve got to get my hands on that jacket I saw earlier. See you at a branch near you!

UNIQLO's 2018 Spring/Summer Collection

Friday, March 23, 2018

Had the chance to watch UNIQLO's Spring Summer show at One Canvass Events Place in Makati City and I really liked what I saw. Pretty much, it was a hodgepodge of cool things, like literally; but I was glad they didn't just stand around and bored us with basics. UNIQLO always prides itself with putting out textile technology so each piece would actually spell comfort, something that would make people come out of their house and wear their clothing all day.

It's spring and summer after all so seeing their stuff on the racks that day all made sense. The design aesthetic remained efficient for day wear. You have something for athletics, moving around in the gym, inner wear that remained cool even on the insides, jeans that go unbelievably stretchable but firmly hug you in all the right places. They also have something for kids so they won't have to hold back doing what they want to - and have fun with it. Professionals, men and women can now wear shirts that don't even have to get ironed right after it goes out of the washer and dryer, wear straight to the office in a jiffy. They also have some really good designed pieces from Marimekko or tough really colorful stuff for everyday wear from UNIQLO U or the fun UNIQLO UT shirts that I love with Mickey Mouse, Disney, or all things that have got to do with MINIONS. Ah, I could see it now, you'll love them all!

UNIQLO Active, go anywhere well dressed, athleisure at it's best!

UNIQLO AIRism, keep cool all day, even on your inner wear.

UNIQLO Jeans, stretch, stretch, stretch!

UNIQLO Kids and Baby wear, your kids deserve the good things too.

UNIQLO Men's Non-Iron Shirt, and they're not even joking!

UNIQLO x Marimekko, Japanese fashion never looked so cool on women!

The colorful UNIQLO U

Shirts you'll love because they remind you of the movies you used to watch when you were kids, or even not so kids anymore. This is UNIQLO UT.

To let you see what transpired that evening, we've got some of it on video. So enjoy!

Thanks to UNIQLO for having us! I had so much fun that afternoon! Head on to stores nationwide now because this would be so good to have them on the beach, we've all want new wardrobe for that of course!

HUMAN, Cotton On, Proudrace for Bench Fashion Week Day 2

Saturday, March 11, 2017

On the second day of BENCH FASHION WEEK, we've got 3 more brands from from Suyen Corporation that represents the young, hip and fashion forward street style courtesy of HUMAN (one of my favorites!), Cotton On (the Australian retail brand), and local brand PROUDRACE (who did a very controversial line up on this day).

They're very different from the first day wherein it was more feminine, romantic and edgy. On this occasion it was more on basics, colorful, current, trendy, and a bit androgynous on the last part of the show. I was looking for the PROUDRACE designers to ask them about it but I couldn't find them. HUMAN stayed true to their form of street wear, which I usually dig, but they transcend age and can be worn by teens, to young professionals without really going overboard. They have comfortable hoodies, shirts, shorts, workout pants and my favorite SHOES! Cotton On as I mentioned earlier stayed on the basics, very airy, comfy cool fabrics which made up most of their shirts and a couple of skirts, long sleeved plaids and outdoor wear. Proudrace for me was delving more on the dark, super oversized drapes and material you'll often seen in raincoats, jackets or tents. I've seen designers abroad do that and seeing a local one do it had me thinking, I need to talk to them and ask about their inspiration. There must be a reason why, and I think that's good. Check out the show on photos below!

Kashieca, Vero Moda, Sassa Jimenez Starts Fierce Bench Fashion Week Day1

It's been a while since we've seen Bench do a shown on the runway. They've also grown their other brands over the years and have built partnerships with talented Filipino designers because they believe in our innate talent. This weekend, they're holding a 3 day BENCH FASHION WEEK and is featuring Kashieca, Vero Moda and the works of Sassa Jimenez. I lt was young, fresh, and elegant. I couldn't find more words to describe the show so I'll make you be the judge. I took photos of all the clothes in the runway and I hope you enjoy this! I barely slept editing photos last night so I hope you like this!

Oh and before the show, we saw real life sweethearts Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. They were welcomed by the big man Ben Chan himself before they got to their seats. There were a couple of beauty queens, artists, models too but I was so excited to share these shots and got them all here for you to see. Follow me @kumagcow on IG and Twitter to say thanks, I'd appreciate that! :)

UNIQLO Spring/Summer Collection 2017

Friday, March 03, 2017

Hailed a #SmartUber and got myself down south for the UNIQLO Lifewear Event in Whitespace in Pasong Tamo. Fashion people, bloggers and media were all there as the brand exposed their 2017 Spring/Summer Collection and yes, it reminded me so much of simple, basic Japanese wear. They have championed this part of the market and have been winning hearts even of the westeners because let's face it, it all boils down to comfort, functionality, style and affordability which UNIQLO definitely has.

They are still innovating, making simple, quality and timeless pieces that can be more warm, light, look better and very comfortable. They are SIMPLE but made BETTER.

Color wise, they have a multitude to choose from. Although this season, it's more of earth tones, albeit some are monochrome, they still have the technology of the fabric to back them up. UNIQLO Work Smart collection had some pieces which you can layer, or put together with your current wardrobe so you looked polished and professional. They keep these clothes a little more resistant to wrinkles (which the Japanese are also known for) and lets you worry less about it, just style and get dressed up office hours.

UNIQLO Kids and UNIQLO Baby won't be running out of cool, easy to wash clothes so they would always have more time for play and worry about Mom's washing machine later.

UNIQLO Sport is not entirely going to be just for athletics, it's Lifewear so whether you're in the office and want to suddenly stroll around a park or go for a quick run, you can still use these pieces for the same. It's casual, it's sport, it's work, all Lifewear.

The UNIQLO x INES DE LA FRESSANGE collection is so cute, I could imagine how these would fit millenials which they probably have designed this for. Now who's up for it? I know about a handful that would get this, as quirky as it may seem for everyday Filipinos to wear it.

Some of my personal favorites are in the UNIQLO T. They've also got some Marvel and cartoon stuff that I would use for everyday wear. I'd be happy to do that in a few shopping visits in their store LOL. That and the thermals which I would need in "hopefully" a couple of days.

UNIQLO Jeans are made for everyday use. Man, woman, kid or something else, these jeans fit various body types that are comfortable from Monday to Sunday, verified and studied by their very own Denim Innovation Center, which they are so proud of.

UNIQLO's AIRISM is an innerwear line that solves the problem of sweat, and uncomfortable clothing because it's cooling, and quick drying which stems from the long years of research they did about the fabrics. Even if it's under a layer or two, it'll still be as fresh because it's made that way.

It looks like Spring and Summer would look good and easy because UNIQLO addressed just about every person in the family, every particular reason you need to change wardrobe this season. The store is huge, they're waiting for you. So I hope you don't run out of things to buy when you get there, in various department stores and malls nationwide!

Because UNIQLO can.
