Take an Emotional Journey with BECOMING ICE

It's HIS time, and Ice is taking you to an emotional journey with his music under Fire and Ice Music and Star Music. It's called BECOMING ICE, a full album of original songs from Ice Seguerra. It's been a while since he released songs, so this is a welcome development for those who have been eager to listen to his songs, the emotional pipes, and the story that comes with it.

Producer Liza Diño says "Ice has been here in Noctos for a couple gigs now and thanks to them for opening their doors as a venue for Being Ice the album and Being Ice Live The Concert Experience. We've seen him transition to a lot of roles, and still wear many hats to this day. We had a successful Becoming Ice a few years back, but still we ask who he is, how he separates his professional to his personal. He is still discovering things, for the first time he is more open to share his vulnerabilities, his first all original album. Sharing these songs and bringing out his thoughts, he wants you to witness this in the album and the concert. It'll drop o. August 8 and will be performed September 12 and 13, all on his birthday, to sing with you. You will get to see it all, raw and with emotions. This is a point where he will embrace himself, all the more with the passing of Mommy Caring, I am very excited about this as it is the culmination of being in the business for 30 years!"

Ice says "Like what Liza said earlier, it took me a while to do this. Being in this industry, it was more of fear to fail in writing my own songs. It has to be a hit, and when it fails, it will fall on me. I equated it like that for a long time. I was afraid to fail and make mistakes. Maybe I've thought about doing this in the past, but I had to mature, it's a challenge to release something personal. My songs are very quiet, and I had to accept that I can move forward. I was afraid of not being successful. This is a serious job, but I can own the word artist now because I can own what I'm putting out there, my failures and success."

He adds "During the pandemic it was a hard time, when I lost my work I lost my purpose. I wrote this on my laptop, showed this to Jonathan, and said he would know how to make sense of this. Now it has structure, I hope you feel this when you are lost, to remind you that there is always hope."

I've heard a couple of his songs from the album, but hearing him live was just a whole lot different. You could feel where it was coming from, I bet there were a lot of people who cried while he was performing on stage. It was that good

New MMORPG Game LORD NINE Infinite Class Set to Launch in PH July 31st

Folks who are into MMORPG will be so pleased about the coming launch of LORD NINE Infinite Class in Southeast Asia and in the Philippines this coming August, and we got to witness gameplay in the advanced server this morning at the SM Cyberzone in Makati. I love RPG's to start with especially when it's a bit medieval which makes this a really good alternative for the tired ones that exist today. The story is quite simple, as this huge fantasy world is being fought by over 9 different lords, and where they await who will reign supreme once the dust settles. This is quite nice for those who doesn't want it complicated, just good stories lots of monsters to slash, use magic and combat. Radiant is the first Lord but there are 9 others who could eventually get it. Jaeyoung Han the creator says "Smilegate gets love from Asia (Korea, Japan , Taiwan) and over the years, and want to make it event closer to Philippine shores. We want to build communities."

Foundations Strengthen Efforts in Crisis Relief and Supports DSWD

While the country is being ravaged by storms, typhoons and monsoon rains, the CSR efforts of DigiP|us Interact!ve Corporation through their subsidiary B!ng0P|us Foundation are continuing to support the Department of Social Welfare and Development specifically the Crisis Intervention Unit in Quezon City. This includes provisioning furniture and logistical support to make sure their help gets to where it is needed in the locale and nearby cities. 

This center in Paragon Place in Commonwealth was put up to take in those who need assistance from DSWD through their AICS and AKAP programs which gives financial help to those affected by natural disasters including these recent weather disturbances that have left a few homeless and need of aid. The foundations have supplied over 1034 chairs and 204 tables for use in these centers via their adopt a center program. They have long done these efforts and plan to continue in the coming years to make sure people get services when they need it most. 

CIGNAL Launches Cignal Play Microdrama: Small Format but Huge EMOTIONS

It was a fun night to be with some of the artists involved in the latest Cignal Play Microdramas, the new vertical format series of shows shown on the Cignal Play App. They promised huge emotions, and with the celebrities included in the cast, we weren't surprised that they could deliver as they're not new to shows in TV5 and different channels.

 The event was graced by Ms. Jane Basas from MediaQuest and Cignal, and the man himself Manny Pangilinan of the MVP Group, proving how important this is for the platform because of how new it is, ready to be consumed by Filipinos on the app. 

This includes "I SEE YOU" with Dimples Romana, Joem Bascon, Cedrick Juan, Pearl Gonzales, Glenda Garcia and wonder kid Zion Cruz. There's also "MY FATHER'S LAST WISH" which stars Dylan Menor, Johnny Revilla, Gerald Madrid, Alex Medina and Dawn Chang. "3 QUEENS and a BABY" on the other hand stars Christian Bables, Iyah Minah, Daniella Stranner, Donna Cariaga, Christian Vasquez, and Iven Lim. My personal favorite is the light hearted "BAKER'S HEART" which stars Paulo Angeles, Dani Porter, Queenay Mercado among others. Soon there will be "A CURE CALLED LOVE" added to the shows which stars Gelli de Belen, Dylan Menor, Micah Santos, Pinky Amador and Jeff Tam which you can watch anywhere anytime with the Cignal Play app.

Watching these shows this past week made me realize how they have meticulously placed cliffhangers in each episode, something they wanted to do to get you hooked on these shows once you try and watch one. It's got artistic and creative touch, something innately Filipino. These are all in vertical format so it fits your phone snug when you start watching. Best of all, they're offering subscription per day so you can pay 20 pesos to see it proving you don't have to spend much to have entertainment.

Funding Gold Dreams and Athletes Success

When the country celebrated the Olympic Gold a couple years back, we were all so happy about it and rejoiced. Every Juan and Maria were glued to their TV, mobile phone, tablet, seeing the flawless performances of athletes on the world stage seeing their dreams come true for them, and for the country. Thing is, this didn't come overnight because aside from the blood, sweat and tears that they've produced, they needed funding to get and train in other countries to be at par with the world's best and be taught by coaches that could produce the best athlete and potential like every Filipino could. 

Funding it is another issue, and this is where D!giP|us |nteract!ve Corporation and its subsidiary ArenaP|us come in. According to Madame Cynthia Carrion who heads the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines, corporate sponsorships sustains these efforts and just like our golden boy Carlos Yulo, she says "People only see the end result of medals but didn't know it needed funds so they could train, travel and compete first to get where they are. The support they get are the ones that get them in podiums, raise that flag on the world stage". This goes the same with boxer Eumir Marcial, basketball's Scottie Thompson who secured funding from these corps, then thanked them legibly when they came home from the Olympics. It gets them the needed funds where the budgets fall short to continue their goals from start to end. 

In recent events, Ms. Carrion pronounced for regulation where it is needed, and acknowledges those who do it legally and contribute to society.

INVOLVED and DOING MORE: Beautéderm CEO RHEA TAN Gets Inducted to Rotary Club of Balibago President Post

It was a very festive mood to see folks from the Rotary Club of different regions all in one place to celebrate the induction of officers and Beautéderm CEO Rhea Tan as the President of the Rotary Club of Balibago (a district in Angeles City). She's no stranger to community work since she built her empire and businesses benefiting scholars, mothers, SME's in different parts of the country, but this opportunity to help in the Rotary Club of Balibago in Pampanga was just too precious to pass. 

Ms. Rei says "We appreciate everyone who's here for District 3790 Rotary Club of Balibago headed by Governor Dr. Philip Torres, AG Bing Gonzales, DS Jong Galang, past District Governors and officers. To my family, my kids Adam Kenneth and Audrey, friends, Beautederm Ambassadors, local and national media, I'd like to thank you for coming together for a very significant night, a gathering of hearts and minds, united in service. It's not by words, but the Rotary Club of Balibago is committed to exert all efforts to uplift the community it serves. I'd like to share 3 of my projects "Rise and Glow Up" to bring self confidence for an initial 20 youth via BeauteHause Clinic. "Yes To Love" where a portion of earnings will go to End Polio campaign of Rotary Club International and "Contribeut: A Scholarship Grant for Tertiary Level deserving students so they could finish their degrees and help their families." 

She was so touched when she was introduced by her Mother, Ms. Pacita Ramos Anicoche who told us about her story before the achieved success in the industry. She wants to help those with mental health needs, earn funds for the end Polio campaign through several company owned branches, and continue the successful scholarship programs not just for her employees, students from her previous school, and now students from the Balibago district. To date, she has already had several students finish with Latin honors which she is so proud of. She wants to use her voice to benefit others, sit at the table and let others too. She thanks the Rotary Club of Balibago for the trust. She hopes to also influence others to do the same. 

Together with Ms. Rei, Ms. Mylene Timbol, Ms. Chona Lee and Ms. Doreen Canyong from the Beautederm group will be part of the officers to make sure they would be able to accomplish a LOT during her term. 

As a surprise, Ms. Rhea got the one and only Piolo Pascual to escort her to the stage, which had almost everyone's jaw drop. He also sang a few songs but folks were just too excited and took photos with him on stage, not surprised. Aside from that, her super supportive Beautederm Ambassadors Alma Concepcion (who's been with her for 15 years), actor and former Vice Governor Ejay Falcon, beauty queens and actresses Maricel Morales, Rochelle Barrameda, Thia Thomalia, actors Jimwell Stevens, Kimson Tan, Jojo Abellana, PBB Celebrity Collab Edition's Josh Ford, singer comediennes Kaikai Bautista, KitKat, Darla Sauler, Pepita Curtis, and award winning actress Gillian Vicencio were there to show their support for Ms. Rei Tan. Also a few weeks ago, she also had Belle Dolls brand ambassadors Miguel Tanfelix and Ysabel Ortega to help her with a local school, giving bags, hygiene kits and more (which she plans to continue during her term).

She's already the Girl Boss everyone wants to be and could have just enjoyed the life she has right now, but Ms. Rhea wants to get involved in what could BETTER her community and help those who need it. She wants to DO MORE and now help people on a bigger scale. The Rotary Club has been established almost 120 years ago, aimed to have professionals with diverse backgrounds could form meaningful friendships. With this goal and the popular 4 way test, they are doing more good with the organization. Ms. Rhea wants to continue the good things that they've started, add the best ones that she's accomplished with her company to take Rotary Club of Balibago and its members to new heights.  

And she's just starting! Congratulations Ms. Rei! 

Why We Smile Amidst Challenges

It's been a running joke for most folks to see Filipinos get into a resilient mode every time there's a calamity or challenge. It probably stems from our defense to try and smile instead of suffering, a survival mechanism to find simple joys in small things. 

Losing power, we make shadow plays. We experience floods, we'd probably swim in it. When we get stressed, we try to entertain ourselves, and it's something that's innately Filipino to not dwell in problems and why not? 

We even experience heartbreaks and poke fun at ourselves and the situation... instead of being in a condition to not perform tasks or activities because of certain limitations. We even make music out of it because yes, it is an escape. 

When we can't do it, we find ways to survive, and tell ourselves we still have something to hold on to... and just carry on!

SPARKLE Artist Center Stars at the PBB Celebrity Collab Edition x GMA Grand Mediacon

Having met the ABSCBN artists a couple days ago, I felt it was high time to see the GMA Sparkle Artist Center side of the collab. Yes, it's an opportunity I wouldn't want to pass because you know, PBB has changed the lives of Mika Salamanca, the gorgeous Ashley Ortega, good looking Will Ashley, Dustin Yu, Josh Ford, Michael Sager, Charlie Fleming, AZ Martinez, Vince Maristela and the playful Shuvee Etrata.

Just to give you a picture, there were a lot of trad media and entertainment bloggers covering for this event. Most of them were editors and columnists from your dailies. I guess I was a little hesitant to send questions because it took almost an hour and a half to talk to them because of the sheer number of housemates we had to interview.

Ashley Ortega currently holds the most number of views on my YouTube channel, and I've had the opportunity to interview her a couple of times. She's very eloquent, gorgeous and very talented on ice. She also was able to show a side of her that's not seen on camera. It's why after her short stay in the house, people were all supporting her A LOT. She also got major endorsements because of it and life has been good. 

Charlie Fleming has been able to enjoy the success of the show and was able to still have some parts of her life private. Will Ashley has signified his willingness to work with Dustin Yu, which is actually not the first time because they previously were together in a Regal Entertainment movie. He feels the show was also a venue to introduce themselves, and show things that have not been seen on TV. Dustin laments that he's been waiting for the right time as far as his career is concerned. He didn't really expect to join PBB Celebrity Collab Edition, but he was so glad he did! He may be an introvert, but now that people got to know him, he's going to have more opportunities after the show. 

Josh Ford is so thankful that his trip back to the Philippines was not in vain. It's been years that he has been in the industry but feels this is his biggest break. He also said that even though some people know him, it was only after PBB that he felt seen. He's so thankful to GMA, Sparkle and PBB for the opportunity! I can't wait to see him grab major roles in shows because he's done his homework.

Vince Maristela on the other hand got recognized while he was in Korea for a little R&R, even if he's been in the industry for a while, it's only now that he gets stopped a LOT while out in public. He now is eager to grab opportunities that would come his way. Everyone was so happy for him!

Shuvee was so fun during this interview. I could see how she is also being fancied by GMA execs while telling her story. As you can see, several shows have already got a hold of her, and joking on social media about her availability. She loves the support and promises to love all the brands and people that supports her. She's not just Shuvee the host now, she's everything and more! Still humble! 

Big winner Mika Salamanca knew how much flak she once had because some have already pre-judged her because of previous controversies. She knew that people just didn't know. For Mika it's a big thing to have a platform to let people get to know who she is, change their perspectives and she thanked Sparkle for believing in her. Winning it meant that she can further prove naysayers of how she deserves the spot. She's pretty game about it. 

I'd like to send a huge THANK YOU to SPARKLE GMA Artist Center for letting us get to know these housemates after the show. I'm quite sure they're planning a whole lot for them because by any angle, there's nowhere to go but to stardom! Oh and yes, that COLLAB CONCERT is coming up, make sure you get tickets before they run out!

STAR MAGIC SPOTLIGHT: PBB Celebrity Collab Edition at the PBB House

It's been years since I last stepped inside the walls of the PBB House. This time we're doing it with the BIG 4 Ralph De Leon , Esnyr , Brent Manalo , and River Joseph. Then we'll also be talking to gorgeous Kira Balinger , Xyriel Manabat , AC Bonifacio , Emilio Daez , Klarisse De Guzman , and Bianca De Vera. This must have been a dream for a lot of people, and it's happening, so I took my phones and tried to record it all! 

This PBB year has certainly been fun, to have 2 giant networks work together must have been a tall order to look at on paper, but they were certainly eager to do it this way because you deserve it. First up is the good looking ladies and gents from STAR MAGIC. They've been doing several bouts of these STAR MAGIC SPOTLIGHT to make sure we get to talk to the artists directly. I was so happy because most of my questions were actually asked, and they answered quite legibly.

Their lives have really changed over a few months being in the PBB house, and as they mentioned, this isn't the last time they'll be doing collaborations after leaving the house. Better Tougher Phones, Wearables at Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025

We took a trip to Rockwell as Samsung showed us the GALAXY Packed event streamed all the way from Brooklyn New York. It felt so festive as the folks from Samsung unveiled their newest phones, wearables and more!

Joseph Aruta the Product Marketing Head for Mobile Experience in Samsung Philippines said in front of the stage "Tonight we will find out the improvements in the Galaxy Z series, see ultra features, brand new camera, the Galaxy Z Fold, Galaxy Watch series that fit your lifestyle."

They discussed the promise of evolving AI into something that can be used by all, with privacy and security also in it's core. They've got products with new form factors, wearables that are not just limited to wrists, something that can be used in everyday lives. They then released the new Galaxy Z Fold which by the looks of it, is thinner and lighter. It is also built more powerful than it's predecessors. 

It's AI is different because it understands context on its features. Since folks are asking for a bigger screen, more powerful battery, and still have it slim and light, they launched these handsets with that in mind. This is their thinnest yet, but they started improvements with the hinge. This opens wider and they were able to strengthen its layers. They restructured it, designed for all day use. The phone now has a pro grade camera, it's got a 200MP lens but thinner. No, wildly thin! It matters because you have to fold it, you can't fit it on your pocket if it's big, makes sense? 

They also inserted the best processor in the market, with an Android 16 based OS, an object eraser, updated NOW bar, updated multitasking functions which makes this something that you would like. They also now have the One UI 8, so you get Multimodality, which we mentioned that understands content on your phone. It's a shift on how to interact with technology and bring them to life. 

With the phone more personalized, it can also brief you about your day. It let's you see a context of what you will do for the day. It also makes smarter suggestions because of it. I also like circle to search, something that they developed thanks to their partnership with Google. Also a more useful Google Gemini for so many things you can do in a smart home. The device also has 38 percent more faster CPU, 41 percent faster NPU and 26 percent faster GPU, a 200 megapixel wide camera, so you get clearer images, unmatched clarity. It has a native video editor, can erase noise with "Audio Eraser" which can detect 6 different audio levels. At 20:18 it is pretty huge on display, costs 1,999 USD which I think it's worth it. 

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 has a 21:9 aspect ratio, has 8 more hours of video playback. It is also thinner, has armor flex hinge that can stay tough on impact. The 4:1 display outside and 120hz refresh rate, One UI 8 works wonders on this new phone. It also has games on the flex window. You can access your selected apps quick, and scroll for other content. It also has Gemini, and can use the camera to talk with it without opening the actual Flip phone.

The Galaxy Watch 8 on the other hand can read key health measures, designed for active folks, it looks good on the outside. It can also monitor your sleep, see if it affects your performance, plus those recovery periods will get measured. It'll make a big difference when you're monitoring your overall health!
