Forest Lake Combines Celebrations with UNDASKO

A usual All Souls/Saints day and a festive Christmas can be celebrated together, that's no problem with memorial park developer Forest Lake. They've proven this already by doing UNDASKO twice over the years, and on their 3rd installment, it's bigger, better and totally fun! Last October 15th, the whole Forest Lake in Biñan Laguna was set to become a place for festivities as they did it again by encouraging families to remember the lives of their loved ones and had them all together organized by Total Memorial Care. I'm sure you've seen one of the nicest comedians lately in the news as Ate Gay and her friends did "Habang Naririto Ka: A Celebration of Life for Ate Gay". Instead of doing a tribute when a person is no longer here, they did it when she's still here which many Filipinos found so positive as friends and family celebrated her life while she can still see it, and still hear it. I found how she really appreciated the gesture and they got to thank her profusely in that event, and I think I love the thought of it. The testimonies were real, and she received it wholeheartedly.

At the location, they also did a Christmas Tree lighting event for their 42 sites, then did a free concert too later in the evening. They had music and entertainment which people enjoyed, donning the theme "Celebrate Life, Remember with Love" that exactly captures the moment. UNDASKO this year certainly felt good, while they still did the usual ceremonies, they made it a little more entertaining for the celebrant, families and friends with the living funeral. They lit the Christmas trees and decorations too to the delight of the public.

At Forest Lake in Biñan, concert performers included Ate Gay, Boobsie Wonderland, Henry G, AJ, and a couple of their friends so folks were laughing throughout the day, it was so much fun! They also had PPOP group AZTER perform their best hits, while keeping it respectful and meaningful on some parts, and hope the families create things like these to prepare for their loved ones in the future. It is worth it to celebrate with them, to create memories while they are still here. They deserve to be loved and treasured too.

Your Solar Power Dreams Can Come True with a Metrobank Home Equity Loan

Living in the Philippines is such a chore. While we are in a 3rd world state, we still pay the bill for electricity like no other. Imagine, we have the highest rate in the whole Southeast Asia, beating even Singapore who can afford it. With that reality, have you ever considered getting Solar Power as part of your electricity bill solutions? It's expensive too right? I know.

Add to that the upcoming Christmas season where we need to decorate our whole house and the lights and smart appliances that come with it. I can see it right now, that number on your bill will surely be up!

Not to worry, the folks from Metrobank just introduced their Home Equity Loan. If you qualify, you can borrow money to finance your solar power dreams to reality. This will be putting your property value to work. Installing Solar Panels and corresponding equipment that would eventually get you tremendous savings from your electricity bills. It may take years, but pretty soon the expenses will level out. Financing will also get you up to 70 percent of your property value. You can use the excess money to do renovations aside from purchasing the unit. Doesn't that sound great?

This is certainly an investment worth to look at especially since it will not just cover your expenses during the Christmas season, but even beyond that. Make sure you also review your interest rates and check if the whole effort is worth it. The last thing you would want to do is drown in debt for something you couldn't pay. If you think this is for you, go apply for Metrobank Home Equity Loan via metrobank.com.ph or their branches nationwide. All you need to do is ask!

VICE GANDA Hosts LAST ONE LAUGHING Season 2

Took a whole lot of time to get to Makati last night because we were in another event prior to this, but that's just me LOL. Anyway, the one and only Unkabogable Star Meme Vice Ganda is hosting the second season of LAST ONE LAUGHING. It's the only franchise who got extended in Asia because of the traction it got on the maiden season (imagine that!). This will be shown exclusively on PRIME VIDEO so you would need a subscription to watch it.

Why would you watch it? Well, let's just say the best of the best comedic geniuses of our time, the past and the future will be on this second season. Imagine Veteran old old old school comedian Long Mejia who's the only surviving funny man of his generation (they kid), son of the King of Comedy Dolphy, Epy Quizon who's known for his anti hero roles and dramatic prowess, the smart actress and theater person Candy Pangilinan, vixen Ethel Booba who's quite raw, the funny Manny Pacquiao impersonator Pooh, the champ comedienne Donna Cariaga, the funny podcast and Balitang Ina regular Chariz Solomon, Gen Z representative Esnyr, the practical joker and podcast star James Caraan, and TikTok star Charuth, all in one place, the banters were amazing! The premise of the game is to NOT LAUGH at all, otherwise, you'll never get the 1 Million cash prize that comes with winning the show.

Here's what happened on video last night, please forgive us for the muted parts because they used audio for the event that need to be taken down:

So, do you really need convincing to watch the show? NO. Go subscribe and watch it on your smart TV's, tablets, phones, because PRIME VIDEO really did good with this ensemble. Plus points for Meme Vice Ganda's hosting. Thank you too for the lovely fun stuff we did during the event, posted on IG and FB so follow @kumagcow there too!

CreaZion Studios Bring 3 Exciting International Films to Philippine Shores

After remarkable success in bringing in internationally released sci fi movies in recent months, here goes CreaZion Studios again to bring 3 more great movies such as CRAWLERS, WICKER and LOOK BACK to family favorite SM Cinemas.

CRAWLERS

If you hate bugs and insects, this would be something that would trigger your phobia. Imagine living in an apartment complex then suddenly, the authorities imposed a quarantine that kept you and your neighbors inside. Matilda Lutz plays Serena who used her wits to lead the whole community to fight a sudden infestation of venomous spiders filling your whole homes.  Aside from these nasty arachnids, they had to battle the personas of different folks who either had to go against the grain or follow you to safety. I remember Matilda Lutz from her previous film Red Sonja, a reboot of the 80's film, and she's one tough cookie, so I'm not surprised she landed this role. It's also part of SINE SINDAK's 7th Cycle which runs from October 28 to November 3, 2026 (good news, it costs less than usual in SM Cinema Branches!).

WICKER

Based on a short story by Usula Wills, this 2026 movie WICKER brings to the screen the life of a lonely fisherwoman who asked a basket weaver to create a husband all made of wicker. This creates a sudden tension inside the village as they fall mad for the man or creation. Imagine, they become thirsty of it, wouldn't that be a good premise? This stars Olivia Colman (heavily awarded English actress), Alexander Skarsgard (good looking Swedish actor) and an ensemble. This will be shown on November 4th only in SM Cinemas.

LOOK BACK

If you're a fan of anime, this 2024 coming of age drama film would be swooning you of it's charm and story. It's about friendship, the different ways it could be between girls and their art. They make their presence felt through different seasons, and you'll feel it even more in a live action version by renowned film maker Kore eda Hirokazu. Now you can see why it had remarkable box office success in other countries as CreaZion Studios will bring it here on November 25

CreaZion Studios will make sure every film you watch from their distribution is worth it. Now with these choices, you can scream, fall in love and delve into an artsy world. They're surely going to bring more soon eh?!

TNT SayaOke to Start Weekly Competition: Winner Gets To Be a VIVA Artist

After grueling weeks of filtering who gets in or out, TNT SayaOke is now starting the real competition this month. This is powered by TNT 5G and the VivaOke App.

Erika Apostol from TNT says "Filipinos have been hiding their Karaoke skills but we know there can be more. Seeing styles, and the entries, we saw how they also have stories. Now we have 48 contestants (24 from Luzon, 12 from Visayas and 12 from Mindanao) from all over the Philippines, all the islands are well represented. This week we will announce who they are, and we are going to make their voices heard."

The idea of TNT SayaOke stemmed from having the technology of having the app and connection on TNT's 5G network. It allows the Filipinos to have the full Videoke experience. In this competition, they don't need to go to Manila because they have several booths across the country where they will stream live against another person elsewhere in the Philippines.

Lyca Gairanod performed during the event

The weekly competition will have a total of 8 winners who will each get 300 thousand pesos. Those who don't will get 10K each. Among the 8 winners, they will choose one of them to have a recording contract and a chance to be a legitimate Viva artist.

Who will be the winner? You can see him/her in the coming weeks. Make sure you follow them on their Facebook page where all of these will happen.

PLATINUM KARAOKE Showcases ALPHA 2 and Fun Concert with SHERYN REGIS

The statement "Filipinos love to sing" is an example of an extreme understatement. Some folks may call it a sport, some call it a hobby, but for us, it's a right of passage, a way of survival, a way of life. One of the most successful brands of karaoke and audio systems in the country is Platinum Karaoke. They held a very big launch for their latest product called ALPHA 2 which is a 4K Smart Premium Karaoke system that's got several modern features in tow.

The first is Sing With Me where you can jam to your favorite songs with friends and family, Video Recording if you plan to make memories of your fun session, Pro Score for those who are extra competitive and want the device to score you, Custom Mic Effects for those who want to sound different, and Dream 5715 Sound so you can listen to realistic sound and playback. In order for them to make sure people experience it first hand, they got several machines out attached to huge TV's at the middle of Market!Market! mall in BGC so folks could try it out before purchasing it with a whopping 30 percent discount (only for 2 days, but it won't be much if you visit their branch at the 3rd floor and ask!).

During the event, they had several singing champions perform on stage, including Lucas Garcia who was adored by the public (his runs were lethal!). Then came the best part where they introduced the one and only Crystal Voice of Asia, Sheryn Regis who is also their newest brand ambassador!

Here's part of our interview with her on video:

She also had several of her fans come up on stage to sing with her later in the evening. She also took time to sing with the ALPHA 2 model just so you could feel how it sounds like when there's a world class singer doing it. I even heard some of the media folks try it after the show, they didn't hold back despite it being in the middle of Market!Market! LOL!

Sheryn by the way also sang some of her top hits. It was fun because people were amazed that she could still do it after all these years. She shared how it was hard to do that after her operation and do some gigs after a few months, despite doctors asking her to refrain from singing. She feels so blessed that after that ordeal, she got her groove back, and sings so beautifully despite some small changes she noticed with her voice.

They ended the event with a fun dance number, everyone joined in. I found people genuinely having smiles on their faces because they enjoyed the concert and the launch. Now go get those Karaoke units and audio devices, I've seen them making folks experience REAL karaoke. It's time you should too!

Regal Entertainment Inc.'s Shake Rattle and Roll Gets Iconic Characters on B!ng0P|us

The movie we've seen almost every year via the Metro Mania Film Fest that has always had a cult following is going to get even more exciting as they become part of new games via B!ng0P|us. They showcased it in a grand launch at Enderun Tent this October 22 in Taguig City. This was done together with Shake Rattle and Roll's mother studio Regal Entertainment.

Ms. Erin Tagudin Head of Brand Communications says "It's an exciting chapter for us at B!ng0P|us and our new partner Regal Entertainment. It's built on Filipino folklore, based on the movies they released but at a premium way to keep it fresh and engaging. Ms. Roselle Monteverde, thank you for trusting us, and to our brands, thank you for turning this idea into a reality. We invite you to try our offerings at the atrium, let's celebrate tonight!"

President and CEO of Regal Entertainment Roselle Monteverde also shares "The Shake Rattle and Roll franchise has been with us for years, our last one SRR Evil Origins did good in the cinemas. It featured different creatures, characters and stories. As a Filipino brand, great stories and characters breed new lives as elements of it become part of their platform and have new audiences here in the country. Thank you for keeping the SRR spirit alive!"

B!ng0P|us Game Localization guy Ray De Guzman shared how SRR stories became new additions on their platform like Man@nanggal 1OOO, Aswang Fiesta, Shake Rattle and Roll 3 Terr0r, LRT M0nster B00m, and Reyn@ Ah@s. You can now enter their world all inside  B!ng0P|us.

This is Filipino ingenuity, and they can't wait for you to discover them there. But remember, always always, do it responsibly!

ESPN and NBA Shows Available on DISNEY+

Anywhere you go in the Philippines, you're bound to see a basketball court. It doesn't have to be fancy, a simple hoop means hours of fun for Filipinos.  Not surprising because we love it that much, that includes the NBA.

These days, you can access it anywhere using the Disney+ app.  This means your favorite teams are just a click away as ESPN becomes available on Disney. This season starts with an opener with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat, then LA Lakers versus Golden State Warriors on October 22 (today). The next one is Cleveland Cavaliers versus Philadelphia 76ers, and Denver Nuggets versus Oklahoma City Thunders on October 23. We got first dibs on the tip off event they hosted at the Dave and Busters branch in Opus Mall in Quezon City.

In the LAKERS GSW game, GSW was doing good with Steph Curry punishing folks from the 3 point area, while the Lakers did good in rebounds and plays courtesy of Walker Kessler. Things heated up between Docic and Lendeborg because yes, it's getting physical between the two. Things got quiet though after an almost half court shot courtesy of DOCIC that went in, punishing them with a huge double digit lead in the first half. In the end, score was 127-105, people wept seeing that huge win from the Lakers.

There's also the Christmas Games happening this year between San Antonio Spurs (my fave team) and the New York Knicks (this year's champ!) plus the LA Lakers versus Philadelphia 76ers with Lebron James pitting against his former team, that's going to be exciting!

There's also the Eastern and Western Conference Finals and the NBA Finals which you can watch on demand. You can also watch the pre game and post game shows with commentaries of your favorite NBA players, that's awesome! As they say, ITO ANG HOME COURT MO!

Aside from NBA shows, the UFC, NFL and more games will be at the Disney+ app. Go sub if you can!
