Malaysia's CHUNK & DUNK Sweetly Lands in the Philippines

Making a sweet landing to Philippine shores is the popular Malaysia based snack brand "Chunk & Dunk". Today is their official launch at the Eastwood City Mall where they have their first branch at the mall's 3rd Floor. This is their first global outlet, something they've wanted to do since its inception in Sabah Malaysia.

They are one of the fastest growing brands in the region, won best dessert in so many places so the Lim Family got in touch with founder Adam Shamil to bring them all here (after having it for 3 straight days in one of their branches). Adam says "Great afternoon! Mabuhay Philippines! I'd like to welcome the ambassador of Malaysia to the Philippines, my family from Sabah, and the Filipinos. Happy Easter to everyone! It's not about me but about Chunk and Dunk, I made my life savings start the world's best croffle  23 months ago and saw it grow to what it is today. You have no idea how we did it in 72 hours but that's what it took to make. I am eternally grateful for them making this happen, from the bottom of my heart, you have no idea on how you became a part of my dreams! I love you! We are now open in the Philippines!"

Malaysian Ambassador to the Philippines Dato Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino Anthony also gave his message saying how delighted he is and the whole embassy, the country is to witness this occasion. "This is my first foray to Croffle, and I was sold when I tasted it here. You will never forget this, and will have more. This is their first branch, and we have one thing in common, we love to eat. This connection is something that makes us stronger, we might see a diner concept soon, but for the meantime we can enjoy croffle and shave ice desserts on their first branch in Eastwood. St. Marc Cafe's Lovely Banana Walnut Chococro

I've been a good boy all week and I think someone has got their eyes on me, rewarding me with something good too. I loved the last seasonal CHOCOCRO made of Black Sesame from St. Marc Cafe and this time, they're doing something equally awesome. They've just come out with a new flavor, it's the Banana Walnut Chococro!

If you get these from the store, they come freshly baked so make sure you have a few boxes of it to take home to your friends and family. They make really good croissants, but ingeniously know how much you have to have those filling. Each piece costs less than a hundred, but add a few more pesos and you can have the one with coffee. They have really good cup of joes brewed too.  

 

If you look carefully, this thing is just made of dreams. If you look closely, you'll see lovely and sweet chocolate that's almost melting, plus slivers of banana and crunchy walnuts inside. It's enveloped in crusty but soft croissaint, how can you not love this!

Now how can your girlfriend not fall in love with you when you get this as a gift. Or how about your Mom when she wants something so good for breakfast? Or how about your big brother when they'd love something awesome for a snack? Those are exactly the reasons why you should flock today to St. Marc Cafe and get your dose of Chococro... it's the best thing that happened to me this weekend, it might be the best for you too! London Style Brew now in Manila: Costa Coffee

Great news for coffee lovers out there, there's a new brand in town and this really came in the right time when we're almost all bored about the usual coffee shop we see in major thoroughfares. London based Costa Coffee is now in the Philippines and they're gearing to put up more stores in the country soon.  Costa Coffee was founded in London by Bruno and Sergio Costa sparked by their love for premium quality coffee. They've got 40 years of experience to back that up and over 3,000 Costa stores around the world to prove it. Their goal is to be the worlds most loved coffee shop brand, a feat that they can well do in the next few years I bet.

The Interiors

The place has 2 floors and is pretty much reflected to be much like the streets of London inside complete with a red phone booth outside which you can take photos with. The interior's made of several brick walls, upholstered and regular seats that would gladly be reminiscent of an Austin Powers movie.

It's the London culture, the vibe, the colors that they would like you to see inside the store. There several corners in this place that I would have loved to reserve for myself when I get the chance to hang out in Eastwood, especially the window seats. Remember, the Brits are some of the worlds most demanding customers and if they want quality on their drinks or food, they need to get it and this is much of a standard thing in Costa Coffee shops I'm sure.
