Bubble Gang Stages Musical On Their 22nd Anniversary

Friday, November 17, 2017

Has it really been that long? Yeah, I feel old all of a sudden. It's our favorite Gag show's 22nd anniversary, if you count that alone it's like an adult already but they're still dishing out jokes, skits, entertaining numbers every Friday on GMA. They must have felt it's time to actually do something different, something that they all have never done before, and this Friday they'll tell you a LAUGH story with the use of the songs of Parokya Ni Edgar who has encompassed and been loved by generations of Baby Boomers, Generation X, Y, Xennials, Millenials and just about anyone in the Philippines. We were there when they taped this two part episode a few days ago.

Let me just tell you first, this was absolutely an awesome show! I saw Michael V, Kim Domingo, Paolo Contis, Mikael Daez, Betong Sumaya, Diego and the rest of the cast sing and dance all throughout the performance treating it like they've been doing theater already. If you see this all later, you would probably be one of the many people who would want to see this staged.

I also saw that Michael V was a big part of the production, he even made changes to the script and seeked the help of real theater directors in order to put this out there. We were not really allowed to take videos inside the studio but trust me, all these photos don't do justice with the show they're about to broadcast later at 10PM. Parokya Bentedos is also about a love story, but I don't want to spoil things so make sure you watch the first part later!

I extremely like Betong's character here as Michael V's Mom, his antics portraying that just had us laughing everytime she sings. The kind that would almost make you pee in your pants lol!

Juancho Trivino, Antonio Aquitana, Mikoy Morales are also in this musical. You might hate or love them in the end.

Please make sure you watch their show later this evening as Bubble Gang presents Parokya Bentedos: A Laugh Story on the heart of Asia, GMA!

GMA Network's "Believe In The Magic of Christmas" Campaign

Wednesday, November 09, 2016

Had a nice evening with GMA's brightest stars, a few blogger friends and kapuso brigade people over at GMA Network's Believe in the Magic of Christmas Campaign Video launch. When they say magical, they mean it's the first locally produced, first in the country, 3D Animated Christmas campaign that starts Monday November 7 during the airing of 24 Oras, GMA's primetime news program. Their thrust is to air several heartwarming and magical stories so Filipino viewers here and around the globe would be able to believe in the magic of Christmas.

There will be three parts to the story of Magical Crayons, sending the message of getting wishes granted in the eyes of a child. They are doing this fresh from the win of "Alamat" (legend) which just won Best of Festival during the US International Film and Video Festival (USIFVF). The Christmas story project is the brainchild of GMA's Program Support Department under FVP Regie Bautista, AVP Dino Garcia, AVP Hasmin Marable, ACD BJ Camaya, PM Catherine Co, Writer Nicole Castillo, Juan Javier, Reybert Ramos, Laqy Laqueo, and done by GMA's Post Prod FVP Edward Achacoso, VP and Head of Operations Paul Ticzon, and SM for Video Graphics April Canasa - Angeles. The theme songs for this year's Christmas campaign will also be sung by Julie Anne San Jose. The other stories will come out soon so if you have watched the first one, stay tuned for the others on GMA Network. There will also be promotions done kn GMA network's social media properties so make sure you follow them there too!

I can't wait to see what the other stories would be!

There's A "Little Nanay" in All of Us: A "Little Nanay" Set Visit

Friday, February 26, 2016

I saw this written in a coloring book which was used to promote the GMA show "Little Nanay" while I was writing this story. We just got back from a long day of interviews with the cast in their Sta. Ana location shoot and we had fun talking to the cast of the show. I didn't quite get it why they would insinuate that we all had that "Little Nanay" in ourselves though because I know quite a few people who probably don't. I mean there are bad people living in the Philippines and I got confused with that statement.

I guess what they were trying to prove is, no matter what condition, mental capacity or psychological grade a person has, they'd probably have a little part of themselves to still care for someone else. That's the vibe that I got from Kris Bernal when we talked to her that afternoon. The show is about to end and I guess in some way, that's what she wanted to impart to the people who have steadfastly supported the show since it's inception. The task of making the character of Tinay alive was much of a challenge to the Kapuso actress but she feels it was all well worth it. They did make us think a lot about what a person who's matured but with a mind of an 8 year old could actually do to take care of their own daughter, their own family too. As with any other differently abled individual, they should always be treated as humans no matter how much we have to learn living with them would actually take. Here are some of our interviews with the cast done a few days ago.
