Regine Topbills New GMA Show Poor Señorita

This afternoon was fun as GMA launches another fun series starring Asia's Songbird Regine Velasquez. This is entitled Poor Señorita, where Regine plays a rich successful woman who was struck with news that she's dying and only got a few days to live. She later finds out that she was misdiagnosed but the problem is, she already gave away her wealth to charities, her relatives and signed it off already. Unfortunately, none of them were willing to give it back. Now, the Señorita only had the clothes on her back and nothing more. She's now as poor as a rat.

Caught Regine lined up on the way to the press conference. I must say, she's still gorgeous and fun as always. She said she enjoys making comedy shows and this is but a welcome treat. Aside from that, she gets to work with really great people like Jaya, Snooky Serna, and the rest of the cast!

Caught these two looking so cute! It's the first prince and princess of Starstruck Season 6. Elison looks so happy now that he's given a break. He's also going to be paired with the lovely Ayra Mariano. It's also his first time to work with GMA's biggest stars and he only wants to do good and show his best foot forward. 

This is the first time Mikael Daez is working with Ms. Regine and says he's been wanting to do that because his guestings in Sarap Diva (Regine's cooking show) didn't push through. Regine also said Nate was asking why she's kissing Mikael in the trailer but explains she's just abusing him, a joke obviously from the Songbird. Regine wants to know first hand the personality of the character so she also adds that she had to ask about what direction they're taking the character. She has to be more animated since it's a comedy even if their peg was Devil Wears Prada. It's situational and says it's a bit hard to make people laugh. This is also for family viewing, so they don't really stress out doing the show. They made it light on purpose says the director. 

I'm also happy that Sheena Halili's back and playing the role of Regine's assistant. She's a bit quirky, fails at times, but still does good things. Regine says she's thankful for GMA giving her 4 years to spend with her son. It was enough time to mold her son she says and this is the time that she's going to work on a project that is this BIG. It's a wonderful soap and she's happy to see new people, reconnect with the old people and hopes the ones at home would be able to appreciate it. It's going to show right after 24 ORAS.

Chynna, her Music and Lara Serena

I've already interviewed and met Chynna Ortaleza several times so I thought I already knew her. Her stint at The Rich Man's Daughter sort of have given us another side of her, which we all probably didn't know she's very well capable of. The other cast members did as much work as she did, and look at what their show now. Ratings have gone sky high, the amount of support they're getting is big, but are we just scratching the surface? I bet.

 I've been to 70's Bistro, a long time ago in fact to watch my favorite bands perform, and perhaps see up and coming artists who are all trying to make it big in the scene. What I got from Chynna that evening was her extreme gusto to explore another world. She feels she also belongs to the indie scene and finds that it feeds her artistic hunger. I was even able to see Chynna watch bands from the audience and how she gets excited when we hear their music. 

Oddly that it seems, this is much like a dream for her. When Darwin Hernandez and Kean Cipriano help her produce some of her work, everything just came into place. They named the band Lara Serena, which is Chynna's real name. Together with Chen Pangan on Lead guitar, Mat Rabena on rhythm , Z Mendioro on bassand KV Viloria on drums, Chynna took hold of the vocals and had their band formed during the last week of June. Friend and co-artist Glaiza De Castro also helped in some of her original tracks which they played during their first gig in Saguijo. This time, it was for the BabaePower tour which aims to hasten women empowerment, hence the great lineup with female vocalists and musicians.

Gorgeous GMA Artists Visit Soldiers in V.Luna Hospital

I think this story is just in time. We've heard the horrible news about the 44 fallen soldiers who lost their life to MILF men. Unfortunately, there's still an ongoing investigation to find out who ordered who and who's responsible for the death of these heroes. Anyway, I was fortunate enough to witness a worthwhile birthday celebration at the VLUNA Hospital in Quezon City. Stars of GMA Rich Asuncion, Sheena Halili, Yasmien Kurdi and Colleen Perez wanted to at least give back to the community and spend some time with soldiers that have been sick, injured and on rehab while they are have served the country all these years. We all have dreams, these men are just like the rest of us, they have families, they have kids to support but they still chose to defend it against the country's enemies. It's for this reason that these ladies find it important to at least make them happy, even just for a while.

The ladies started by singing and dancing with the men, women, their relatives who are all confined at the hospital. Their smile, it was priceless. You wouldn't even see that they have reasons why they are confined there, but some even if they've got one leg left, some confined to a wheel chair, they all joined Rich, Sheena, Yasmien and Colleen standing up a couple of times so they could participate with them.

Yasmien's wish is just to have Yagit to further be successful and she's even excited to share that there will be more things to watch out for in the story of the show. She also got her daughter there and everyone adored her - she even started to play along with the crowd. Star quality? Perhaps, but just like any parent, Yasmien would want Ayesha to finish her studies first before anything else. She greatly credits the viewers for the success of her show and promised you'll be seeing something shocking in the coming weeks, especially with the issues behind Elisa and the Dad. 

Talking with Rich, she only wished for her studies to be done on 2017. That's quite near and it's UP. She also wishes to have a love life soon. She's independent, she's got lots of friends, she entertains all of them but hopes he arrives soon, she's so ready! Haha :) She also thanked everyone who supported Yagit and now it's going to be extended, I heard until April if I'm not mistaken. With the event, she thanked Artist Center. She didn't have a celebration personally but this event really made her realize she still has a lot to thank for. She also wishes everyone would support the soldiers, as they've given so much for the country. Rightfully so, they deserve all the help they can get. 

She also added "Congratulations to MJ Lastimosa, she's done a great job representing the country and I'm proud that we came from the same trainer. The fact that she represented us, we all should be proud of that. For us you are the winner! Thank you!". She also teased that there will be a lot of things to happen in the story, she even hinted a wedding will happen real soon! Who? She wouldn't tell, but you know how that goes. 

Sheena celebrated in  Baguio and had some "Family Time" because she's going to be very busy in the coming months. She doesn't want anything, but she wants a real, exclusive love life. She's 3 years single but is still looking for that perfect guy. She's not choosy, but she just knows what she wants now. Simple things, a sense of humor, adventurous, stable, affectionate, nothing big really. In VLUNA Hospital, she felt really good to have seen the soldiers and says thanks to Artist Center for making this event possible. They may have gone to kids centers, some seniors and these soldiers are way different and it was touching to see them smile even at their state. She's working hard and also thinks about her education. She still wants to finish her studies and it is very detailed so sometimes she needs to go to her classmates house just to understand subjects even if she had to go right after a shoot. She feels her grades are a little sacrificed because of her work but hopes she can go back to it seriously. She's not contented with just plain studying at her capacity and wants to do more because she knows what she's capable of. They had so much fun that afternoon and thanks all the soldiers for accommodating them.

An Afternoon With The Cast Of BINOY HENYO!

Genius... Smart... all things good about a boy and his family, that's what BINOY HENYO is all about. It's a Dramedy developed for television by Palanca award winner Marlon Miguel and produced by GMA. The kid is played by David Remo whom we found quite amusing that afternoon. Even though they are poor, they still have their dreams and choose to stay in school. Because he's smart, he gets the nod of his professors and even the other kids grew fond of him. In real life, he's really a bright kid and he answers questions quite above his age plus doesn't look like he was even trying. 

Playing the title role of Binoy isn't easy but he looks like he's having fun. The cast sternly supports him on his role. His Dad looked quite contented with the way everyone was treating his kid in this project and sees it doesn't hamper to normally grow up. He's even doing good in school although he is quite disturbed because even his teachers began calling him BINOY which is a far cry from his first name David. He laughed it off though, cute and smart. He's also got a robot of his own called BIBOT whom he created and loved dearly.

Angel Satsumi who plays his classmate was equally cute too. She initially finds Binoy to be a competitor and always strives to be number one in class. She later on gets along with Binoy since she finds the kid sort of  a good guy and now she adores him even more. Her Mom was there too and as observed she was excited to see her kid to be involved in all of these. I wasn't surprised because she was really good, I could imagine them in other projects in GMA and I bet they wouldn't have a hard time.

This hunky guy was right beside me while interviews were going on. Honestly, I haven't seen him before but when he mentioned the roles he's done in the past... I immediately said OH THAT WAS YOU! Then after a short while, I think I've seen him before. He was talked about in PinoyExchange even in a rival station's thread. I'm not surprised, with his good strong looks, chiseled features, he could pass for a european/german model. 

From projects like First Time, Blusang Itim, primetime hit One True Love and of course the epic serye INDIO he says he's been really contented with the things GMA has been giving him. He admits however that playing this part was a little too easy, he wanted a more challenging one because he knows he can do so much further. He plays as Francis' brother and confidant. Judging from the looks of it, he's a good chap and he knows his craft. Even if he played contrabida roles most of the time, he's bent on doing other parts and be a goody two shoes this time. 

He says the other actors in this project were really good and he learned a lot from the veteran ones. I'd say it might take a while but he can nail this with GMA Artist Center who's been able to give him really good breaks. Pretty soon, you'll see more of this chap being more of a hero. Why not? he's paid his dues and gotten so much in a short amount of time. I hope he's gonna get his role spiced up a bit when the deal with Francis Sandoval materializes in the script soon. You'll understand why the conflicts in the family where discussed in this program, and they never hold back about it. Promising? Definitely. I can't wait to see more of him soon. That's Lucho Ayala!

Simple, charming and really down to earth is this First Runner Up from Bb. Pilipinas and consequently Starstruck 2009's first princess Rich Asuncion. At first, I couldn't believe she's playing mature roles on screen because I find her appealing in more younger roles. She said she's done several stints of aged Tita's, relatives and mother roles so she wasn't really surprised to land this one. 

From her previous successful projects in GMA like Aso ni San Roque, Biritera, Kung Aagawin Mo Ang Langit, and Time Of My Life she says she expects this one to be a really good project as expected from GMA. She boasts of the great importance and opportunities that the network has given her even if she's still studying. Lucho and Rich actually go to UP Diliman (no joke!), they are real deal students so you won't be able to talk to them on some days of the week. 

Rich even had to take a long break and do her OJT's and work in Bohol. I was amused at their first experience of Adhoc and how she remembers not being able to get in because of the crowd. It was really admirable of them though to still give importance to finish their education no matter how busy they are for what its worth. I could see fire burning in their eyes and see their passion about their course. I felt I owe to congratulate them when the time comes. 

Rich here plays as Binoy's strict teacher and personally was feeling so rewarded she gets to interact with the kids more than the other stars in this stint. As adviser, she thinks a lot for the welfare of her students. She might be strict but she makes sure to hone the talents of her students individually and see to it that their gifts are given up to their full potential. It's dedication to their work and their love for their students that drive them this way. Plus, I can say she's outright VERY pretty!

Who doesn't know Sheena Halili? I always look for her when I talk to buddy Rocco Nacino. She's bubbly, very sexy and has quite a presence. I didn't know she could pull off a mother role but she's been able to do that thanks to the smart boy. She shows how much love she can give beyond the hardships and struggles of her own dilemma, not being able to read or write. She wants to get her kid decent education and pulls off strings just to make ends meet. It's her dream to see her kid have a diploma and finish school. Sheena was really into character. She even gave treats to David (who plays Binoy in the program) if he does really good in school. Having found a good role, she's not afraid to be typecasted in mother roles too much because she just treats this as a job just like the other roles she's played in the past. She probably treats this as a very challenging one because the case with the mother role wasn't ordinary. Luis Allandy who plays the father Francis didn't really grow up with the kid nor this family; and that is another story to tell. 

Make sure you watch the next episodes because it will become more interesting. Binoy's adventures of life, friends and family isn't done yet. Who knows, his next invention might answer your problems too! It's not too late to learn something new and BINOY HENYO can bring you up to page. They're doing good on ratings and got a pretty good program to boot! Don't miss it! I'm so glad to have been able to know a couple of the people who work in this project.
