Wipro Acquires Philippines S Brands Consumer Care Inc.

Tuesday, July 21, 2026

Companies are getting bigger by the minute and that's including the folks from WIPRO and consumer brand S Brands Consumer Care Incorporated, makers of Keratin Plus, AlcoPlus and their affiliated products (Empress Shampoo, Grips Ignite Body Sprays, DEOPlus deodorants, Fiona Cologne and more!).

The event was attended by their executives Dwarakanath Ayengar, Arun Giridhar, Prabhat Garg, Maansi Gagroo, Amit Dawn, Nagender Arya, Dick Sy Ong, Sharon Yu Ong, Teodorico Jimenez, Romel Hipolito and Rosario Aquino.

Mr. Dick Sy Ong of S Brands says "S Brands is growing and Wipro has the record to get that going. I see their leadership, and see the heart, we believe in the same thing. Every success we celebrate today is because of you. We thank our consumers, and this is the beginning of a new chapter. The best is yet to come."

Nagender Arya of Wipro Consumer Care adds "Welcome everyone, to our partners who made this possible. Putting your trust in us made us all excited. We at Wipro are very diversified, we are already 81 years old, initially an IT services provider, listed in NY and Mumbai, but we are also in consumer products in India, US and large markets. We also have charity initiatives which works in the rural and poor area of India, all for a noble cause. Wipro and Consumer Care and Lighting is now present in Southeast Asia, China, Africa and over 60 countries. We started as a cooking oil company and now have 37 brands. We have grown 36 times in 25 years, all because of the amazing teams and partners we have in these areas. It has helped us be global, and today our partnership with S Brands makes this the 16th one, we welcome them especially with Keratin Plus, AlcoPlus, Grips, DeoPlus, Empress, Fiona Cologne, we have creative campaigns ready as part of our smart marketing. Our plans for the country is complementing what we have in Wipro, it expands our footprint here and makes us ready for other markets, making it possible to get the brands to Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, South China and Hong Kong markets where we are present."

Then they signed the pact in front of the media, answered questions about the benefits of having S Brands becoming part of Wipro and vice versa. S Brands has local influence, they also have a good presence in the Philippines and will take advantage of bringing in what they have and do the same for the hygiene category, a strong market in the Philippines.

They also said the Philippines is the 4th largest market in Asia and is a very young and bullish market. S Brands also saw their culture, R&D and they just clicked. Being in the consumer care business, they have similar values, sort of aligned. They have the passion and way of working. Product development will be easy, they would work side by side to grow, which means more products for Filipino consumers. Retail partners and distributors can expect a rapid growth rate, and they will be happy about the experience they will get. They will have more exposure for the international markets. It will benefit all.

They are also delving into AI, and since they are also in the tech business, they will adapt and use it for their advantage. Marketing, campaigns, all will be done by that in the future. People will also be trained, make their work enhanced, included in the roadmap they designed with consumer analysis and social media work.

Can't wait to see everything happen soon! Congratulations!!

DIGIMAP Opens Newest Store at Gateway 2 Mall Araneta City

Friday, June 28, 2024

First time to actually know about this brand Digimap, but really feel how they've aggressively expanded operations in the Philippines. This store they've recently opened is near my hood at the Gateway 2 Mall in Araneta City.

They are having several specials during store opening including a default 21K off in select MacBook, iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch models. 2.5K off on select AirPods, 30K off on select Apple products if you use Unionbank Credit Cards at 0% interest, and free Soundcore Earbuds for the first 50 customers, and a 10% discount on partner accessory brands from June 26 to 30. They have their friendly Superstars at the store if you have questions about the devices too.

Currently they have Digimap Ayala, Digimap Robinsons Starmills in Pampanga, Digimap Parqal, Digimap Robinsons Jaro in Iloilo, Digimap Robinsons Gentri, Digimap New Mall Greenhills, Digimap Robinsons Lipa Batangas, Digimap North Tacloban, Digimap Robinsons Roxas and Digimap Robinsons Tagum. They also have Digiplanet Alabang Town Center,  Digiplanet Centrio, Digiplanet Capitol Bacolod and Digiplanet Estancia.

This one in Gateway 2 is certainly a good addition since there are no other authorized distributors of Apple products nearby, it will service a lot of people who need new products and those who plan to make a switch!

Congratulations Digimap! This is the time to live, play and connect this side of town!

Globe Launches GFiber Prepaid: Because They Know, "Kaya Mo Yan!"

Friday, July 21, 2023

It's certainly a good day to actually see innovation right before our eyes. At the Globe Tower this morning, Globe Telecommunications Inc. announced the launch of a new product called GFiber Prepaid. It's the most affordable, accessible, fast and reliable internet connection from their group that can be availed with a prepaid line. You can order this through the Globe One app by downloading it off the Google Play store and choosing GFiber on the offers listed (costs Php 1499 upfront for the modem-router). To those who are still procrastinating of getting a second line like me, this is certainly perfect because the documents you need to present... are non existent, no actual tie ups with the service provider, as long as you do load it up without expiring in 6 months, then you're good.

They also have it in 30mbps with unlimited data and the thing you need to choose is the duration. For Php 299, you can get unlimited data for 7 days, for Php 649 you can do the same for 15 days, and for Php 999 (my personal choice) you get unlimited data for 30 days, which is very affordable if you compare it with mobile data or the usual postpaid lines from other providers. This was a well thought out execution of what to offer Filipinos because they really did think about the hindrances in getting internet connection in the country. With this, it's going to change a lot of things especially in homes, small offices and businesses around the country.

They taught us how fiber optic connections work, think of it as light containing data that travels fast inside a fiber. They split it up for other users and efficiently does the job its supposed to do. They also showed some clips they use to terminate a line and connect as an injector to boxes outside and at home. Here's some scenes from this morning's event!

Globe CEO Ernest Cu says "We here at Globe support your digital lifestyle and we hope this democratizes access to fiber especially in this market. For studies, business, entertainment, all at home we prefer fiber. In this new reality, we strive to bring game changing products and having fiber at home is such a better choice in service. When we allowed GCash do financial services and democratized it through the app, we want to make sure people can afford the services and enjoy what we offer in Globe. Up to 60 percent of households still don't have internet connection, because most could not afford it. They don't want to be held in a contract, and people want that flexibility. This is our business, aimed to uplift Filipino lives. This is why making this accessible is important. People need wifi, data, have it installed and give commissions to agents. Removing this and offer at an attractive price point, we are introducing GFiber Prepaid!"

Thanks to Ms. Nicole Paler who got a shot of us during the event!

There was a part of the event where I was able to talk with the host Ms. Neri Naig about my experience using the Globe GFiber Prepaid line. Installation was fast, even if I rescheduled it because I had an event on the date that I initially decided on. They were even at my home early and asked my availability if it was okay to install it lunch time. I also got to talk about the speed because out of the several days I tested, it was constantly around 29-31 mbps, which they promised to be at 30, quite impressive. I may have just found my ideal backup line that doesn't break the bank and does work when I need it.

You may be thinking of getting a fiber line for your home, your small business, your TikTok family member, or online selling business, this works great, affordable and I can even play a few games when I'm not doing any work. Go try the new GFiber Prepaid today and take advantage of fast speeds it could give you without going over budget. Those kids learning at home actually need this most, so they don't suffer from the shortcomings of mobile data.

I'm still using mine, and you should try it out (they check if there are lines available in your area too!). Yes, kaya mo now!
