You know those graffiti signs in Makati lately? That probably was a sign of sweet things to come because AXE just came out with 2 new scents, Black Vanilla and Cherry Spritz.
And why not, men after all are sweet right? It's this side that's relatively been repressed, with no reason, not to keep machismo in check, it's 2025 and that way of thinking needs to change.
These new scents are under AXE Fine Fragrance Collection, something that they've been working on in the past year. Using essential oils, they've managed to do this one with the goal of getting over 72 hours of fragrance and deo work, you'll be impressed how it lasts on a normal day.
Black Vanilla is sweet, a little herby and juicy. I like sandalwood, and it seems to have it in there, so I love it. It also got notes of mandarin, banana, lavender, sage, basil, cocoa, vanilla too. Cherry Spritz is a little different. It's got a mix of cherries, red apple, notes of jasmine, amber, nutty praline, something sweet and lasts more than usual.
The murals by the way were made by artists Jappy Agoncillo and AC Bautista who does murals. I like how they connected to Filipino humor, the statements certainly felt personal. It welcomes the new side of men like it should, and does it fare well? Of course! AXE always delivers.
Looks like there are new fragrances in the counter, and yes, it's our dependable brand AXE.
These days, folks don't just have one scent on and have them layered. It's that personalization that makes it appealing.
From brand to artists, they have their own way of producing these. Though most of the time, it'll cost an arm and a leg because of royalties.
A great scent certainly can take you places, it also makes you exude confidence, to also feel good in different times of the day. The new scents are Blue Lavender, Emerald Sage, Aqua Bergamot. Bergamot is fruity and spice, Lavender is quite relaxing, grassy and floral, while Sage is warm and earthy.
Those designer scents may cost a lot, but AXE presents these new scents so you have options especially if you are using them for everyday fare. Make sure to check them out in Watsons and leading beauty and grooming counters nationwide. I bet it'll be hoarded by guys and gals because from the looks of it (and smell), it feels quite promising!
Ever had that moment when you prepare so much for an event and when it's just about to happen, you wake up with a huge pimple on your face? I've had that happen to me several times, and I think what I'm about to tell you is good news.
There exists MATCHY PATCHY, it is the first of its kind pimple patch in the Philippine market, which was launched at the Mix Tape Halloween Party at Imajin Arts and Music in Marikina today. This all in one pimple patch gives you all day protection, absorbs oil, and is very kind to your skin. This can patch up problematic areas and see visible results in about 6-8 hours. It dries it out, simple, but it's something more than that.
Although there are some pimple patches in the market, this is quite different because it comes in different designs and become a tool for expressing yourself. This is also formulated and made in Korea, but it's conceptualized and fully owned by Filipinas. They have always been keen on releasing it to different markets, not just local, but international. Using high quality ingredients, Matchy Patchy will be your best bet to rid yourself of that troublesome pimple fast. They use hydrocolloid, tea tree oil and designed it fun for any occasion.
The shapes I loved come in hearts, diamonds, flowers, stars, scallops, x signs, tears, octagon, and more! They also come in different colors, textures, so you can choose what you feel on that particular day. This is something I'd love to have during my teens or those fun events when they show up unannounced. I bet this would be good for those who are experiencing sudden breakouts due to hormonal things that men or women go through.
Film Director Gayle Oblea their Chief Marketing Officer says "This has less competition and it's not a thing yet in the Philippines. You don't see them much in stores and we want to make it aesthetic especially the young folks to try it now. They love glitters, things that look fun, and emphasize what it is and what it solves. We are partnering too with bands, so gig goers can use it too. It only costs Php 149 so even students can afford it. We are planning to get a celebrity and band endorsers soon, to showcase how this encompasses gender or skin types."
It also costs Php 159 for the stars as it costs a bit more to produce, they will also be having a Christmas themed pimple patches too on December 1st, so watch out for that.
Make sure you use clean hands to apply it on your skin, of course, it's fun, it works and lessens your worries. Go get them in their official TikTok Shop, or their official website. This is also FDA approved. They plan to expand to skin care shops and boutiques around the metro, and later on, the world!
Here's more from the event!
There are plans to go around the Philippines through concerts and events. They will be giving out samples, so you can test it out. I've personally used several last night and it stuck quite nicely. They also have tested it swimming, and it never got washed out. The patches last for a year so no worries about it expiring.
Matchy Patchy presents a very good premise, and since it works, I hope it becomes as regular as toothpaste soon.
