RPDRPH Queens Brigiding, Vinas Deluxe, Precious Paula Nicole in Major Concert Feb 10

Monday, January 02, 2023

Brigiding, Precious Paula Nicole and Vinas Deluxe aka DIVINE DIVAS

Getting their rightful place in the spotlight are RuPaul Dragrace Philippines' brightest Brigiding, Misis ng Bayan Vinas Deluxe and 1st PH Dragrace Superstar Precious Paula Nicole. They're going to have their own concert entitled DIVINE DIVAS: The Ultimate Drag Experience which will happen on February 10, 2023 at the New Frontier Theater at Araneta City. This is produced by Nathan Studios (of the Ataydes) and Fire and Ice Live (the production company of Ice Seguerra and Liza Dino-Seguerra).

The same production houses have already worked on Ice Seguerra's concert called #BecomingIce which was very successful that it warranted another installment in Cebu on February 18th, at the Waterfront Hotel. We were also informed they will be doing a Davao leg and a tour of North America and some countries in the Middle East (in the near future).

Certainly, they've seen something special about these PH drag queens, and honestly, they've represented the country proud in the international stage. They are already talented individually, and seeing them perform together, was on another level. Here's a taste of what's in store for you IF you watch the show next month!

And this is just the tip of the iceberg, because during their interview, they divulged that they will have a different repertoire than what they are performing in the bars they've performed in. I personally asked what dreams they still have, and aside from the successful careers, they're putting up their own business too, to ultimately have their own bar where they don't just cater to the fabulous LGBTQIA+ scene, where everyone will be recognized as the talented people that they are - equals.

Make sure you get your tickets at ticketnet.com.ph as they might run out soon! This is just the start of having our queens be put on the world stage. Who knows, a show in other countries soon? From the looks of it, Ms. Sylvia Sanchez of Nathan Studios and Ice Seguerra of Fire and Ice Live were confident, they were left there still bickering about it (like family). Thank you for having us that afternoon! Can't wait to see the show!

Game of Drones at Circulo Verde

Saturday, May 27, 2017

Wow! That was all I could say when I watched the races over at the first ever Game of Drones at Circulo Verde, a property managed and developed by Ortigas & Company. The last time I was here they opened The Bike Playground which was so awesome for hobbyists and bike enthusiasts here and nearby communities.

These guys spent thousands of pesos just yo jazz up the usual drones and fit their rigs for racing purposes. True enough, these things zip by so fast, I fear it was going to chop off one or two limbs, but I'm so glad this sport is so safe for kids and adults, especially the ones who plays toys for the big boys.

I visited their main workshop area and found them making sure all their gears are in perfect working condition. Aside from that, once a drone crashes in the course, they fix it right away as they've brought spare parts too.

I also love how they took really good care of their equipment. They personalize everything from blades to the actual controller, like this one in camouflage!

All these drones have eyes, they even monitor them real time in one station so as to make sure the spotters would see they pass every obstacle in the race course. They also have an organization going and these guys are mostly members of it. Circulo Verde is a sprawling property taking brave steps in making their community to be an active one, ecologically friendly and a really nice place to go to on weekends.

After a long day of eliminations, 8 drones will be battling it out in the finals. There will be also team time trials so whoever gets that will win these trophies and medals, prolly some moolah too. Ah this place is so competitive, I could smell the androgen from a mile away.

Have you gone to Circulo Verde?

Yellow Cab x Challenge Philippines - Camarines Sur

Sunday, August 03, 2014

David Voth CEO of Leverage Sports Asia

A few days ago, we were in 55 Events Place in Quezon City to witness a special meeting of the minds. Three parties, people from Leverage Sports Asia, the governor's office of Camarines Sur and the well loved pizza brand Yellow Cab. They are putting up one of the biggest races ever done in the Philippines and it's going to happen next year, on June 14.

They've already done it in Subic last February and they found that one of the best challenges ever, now they are going to have a fast one, something where they could set their personal best as described by the race organizers. From beginners to pros, they'll have them all going to Camarines Sur's location next year.

Governor Miguel Villafuerte of Camarines Sur
The youngest Governor that I've ever seen I guess, he's Governor Miguel Villafuerte of CamSur. He's proud to say that the province, although they were hit by the recent big typhoon were able to get everything on course in order to host the race next year. They have even  made arrangements for the accommodations, putting up an Olympic like village to cater to athletes and their families which is one of their goals. Presenting the Philippines through their province is a step up, as they show the super nice sports and adventure centered province especially the track for this race and the extremely popular wake park.

Governor Elray Villafuerte, former governor and Dad of Miguel
Former Governor Elray Villafuerte says they are proud to host this and the Triathlon which will happen next year. This will surely gain a lot of exposure to their humble province, boost tourism and get to have people interested in their history as well. It's like a win win situation.

Roy Quejada, CEO of  Yellow Cab Pizza Co.
Roy Quejada, Yellow Cab Philippines' CEO says the reason why they sponsored this even is because they share the same values and they fit perfectly with the goals and aspirations of these athletes. The partnership will also be forged in the next three years and they've helped a lot of sponsored athletes with their fares since doing triathlons would require you to tour around the world. That is a BIG help no matter where you put it.

Julian Paolo Tayag, Director of Hubble Multisport Inc.
Julian Paolo Tayag of Hubble Multisport Inc. says they are also making sure to roll back the entry prices so that a lot of local and international athletes can participate in the event. The Philippines has the warmest people and they will witness a spectacle of 729 athletes hailing from 38 countries that will include celebrities, royalties and even a real deal world champion in the person of Aussie Michael Murphy. Isn't that great?!

Registrants will also have a chance to win a trip to Roth, Germany by entering the contest here. They will be holding the Challenge Roth race there intended for athletes and their families. If that doesn't make you want to join your first triathlon, we don't know what will. This "Fastest Course in Asia" located in Camarines Sur will surely get everyone's Personal Best to it's peak. Make sure you check out the channels below to know when registration starts.

Congratulations to everyone organizing this event. We can't wait to see how this turns out. I hope I can cover this, I haven't been in CamSur actually. Wouldn't it be nice to get lost there in Challenge CamSur? Haha!

The Sofitel Manila Half Marathon 2014

Saturday, July 05, 2014

Running enthusiasts, on the starting line!

The last time this happened was in 2008. It's one of the biggest runs in the Philippines that features 5k, 10k and 21k races which gave away prizes and surprises too. This year, on August 17 specifically... they are bringing to you the Sofitel Manila Half Marathon 2014 once again. Proceeds of this event will go to the care of street children of Manila through Virlanie Foundation. It's not just going to be a plain run and will become something that could help the plight of these kids to keep them in school, provide shelter or just overall help them go through life easy.

One of the leading run organizers in the country Coach Rio Dela Cruz of Runrio says "By organizing the Sofitel Manila Half Marathon, we hope to one day become one of the world's most popular running event attracting both amateur and professional runners from all over the world to compete in Manila.  This marathon is dedicated to the children of Virlanie Foundation with the objective of contributing to a better future for the children of Manila". I've also seen some of the other things Coach Rio did before and a lot of people benefited from it. This is something different because I feel he's really doing it for the kids. Aside from the health benefits of the activity, people would be able to make a difference on the kids lives. That alone is something that could surely change them, to make them better members of the society.

Oh and they're keeping it a little green this time because runners are all advised to bring their own water bottles to be used on refilling stations throughout the race. They will not use paper or plastic cups because we've all seen what happened on races that had that all on the street right?!

Registration for this race will start on June 27. Just go to Toby’s MOA, Toby’s SM North in The Block and also in Move on 30th Street in BGC. Before you decide on doing this, please checkout www.runrio.com for complete details of the race. Fees are Php 750 for the 5k, Php 850 for the 10k, and PHP 950 for the 21k. Every registered racer will receive the usual race bib, singlet, finisher loot bag and drinks so you won't get dehydrated. For the 21km runners, they will receive their own finishers medal and shirt. Isn't that neat?

The Sofitel Manila Half Marathon is also brought to you by Gatorade, Gold’s Gym, DOCOMO, StarXpo, DOLE, Delsan Office Systems,Canon Fashion Tailoring,10 Inch Lights and sounds, Dowi Hosiery, Delizio Fine Foods, Diversey, MJ Global, M Plus, Timex, Premier water and Nizoral. This also includes their media partners ANC, Business World, Fox International Channels, Manila Bulletin, Philippine Daily Inquirer and Radio High (where you'll probably see this advertised). For more information about the event, you can also check out the event page on Facebook here "The Sofitel Manila Half Marathon" or you can call (02)7031736 or (02)4634814 or email them at feedback@runrio.com.

I'll try and see if I can run on that day, even for fun! :)
