FoodPanda Holds 1st PANDA LEGENDS ULTIMATE BATTLE

Super fun to have witnessed the finals of PANDA LEGENDS Ultimate Battle, a tournament made for FoodPanda Riders courtesy of popular food delivery app FoodPanda. It was held at Le Reve Pool and Events Place in Quezon City and was witnessed by several FoodPanda executives, the media (including us) and FoodPanda riders from Metro Manila and nearby cities. This is just one of the many activities that FoodPanda has put up in order to give back to their riders and certainly, a lot of them probably play MOBA games and this event would promote camaraderie as they see who's going to get the coveted championship.

Initially there were 128 teams vying for the crown but now, there are only 4 of them left. The last two teams are called "The General Panda" from Davao, and  "Panda Heist ML" from Marikina, and of course, all of them are certified FoodPanda Riders.

The Championship prize is a whopping 250,000 pesos so surely, they won't be taking this lightly. It was a best of 3 series and the first game went to Panda Heist, they have taken advantage of meta heroes and finished with Moskov on the late game. The General Panda made adjustments on their lineup and attacks but the Second Game still went to Panda Heist, they have officially won the tournament. That was really a Moskov difference.

Congratulations too to 3rd Runner Up Elbi Panda (from Los Banos Laguna) and 2nd Runner Up Batang Malate from Manila. I can't wait to see more of what FoodPanda has in store not just for customers, their partners and riders too!

Jamba Juice Holds Whirl’d Cup

I held my own frisbee when I was about 6 years old. I got so excited and giddy because the thing I wanted the most on photos was in my hand and I could finally play with it. I took it out on the streets and asked a few people but later got frustrated because none of my playmates knew how to do fun with it, just thrown them around and catch, that was about it.

These days I’m so glad to have seen it be taken and played seriously by celebrities, even athletes from different sports doing headway with tournaments, huge events, spinning, blending in different colors, much of what Jamba Juice is doing these past few years. They got their hand on Ultimate Frisbee in the Philippines. Life can be better blended up as Mark De Joya the Brand Development Director says “Having a positive energy and creating unique experiences for our customers had always been what the Jamba Juice brand stands for. We want things that are fun, inclusive and open, it’s why we are taking part in the growth of the Ultimate Frisbee community.”

The Jamba Juice Whirl’d Cup 2018 was so much fun, took men, women, kids of all ages - people from different professions into small skirmishes. They didn’t have to be professionals in this sport to join, noobs were welcomed with arms wide open and played under the sun.

Over 500 people participated in the festivities and if that doesn’t spark interest in the non contact sport, it’ll still be an important experience for these individuals who want to drink life up. They were also hydrated well during the two day tourney using healthy concoctions, real fruits, and the company looks forward to see more of these Ultimate activities in the future.

The Perfect Swing

I like many of you only get the chance to watch golf in local television every once in a while. I seldom go out with my Uncle who plays this particular game religiously because I don't have equipment of my own and the sport does not like me that much to put it in nice words. The rule of the game is simple and you have got to only get the golf ball into the holes with few strokes as possible. The time I went to a local golf course people was just warming up because the tournament only would start a couple of hours from the time I arrived. The driving range was almost full but we were able to hit a few balls before the actual game. Since it was not a game I played that much, I needed more time to learn it obviously.

I hit the golf balls and sometimes I miss it. Quite understandable said my Uncle but he knew if I set my mind into it, I would probably play better than him. Not to brag but even if I was a novice at that time, he did not think twice in letting me join their tournament since that is for charity. I told him that I'll try my best of course and he was proud of me because some veteran golfers there were already looking at me hitting the golf balls farther. Some of them even asked if I played professionally which I gladly brushed off since I did spill a couple of shots while at play. When it started I was really nervous because the irons and woods were new to me and my Uncle played caddy because I didn't know what to use at that time. He even was telling me what to use while playing because I almost used a putter for a long drive. That part was really hilarious because there were some of the wives and young daughters watching me too. This Golfurlaub is getting me a little bit publicized I know and it’s good that I’m getting to know more people as I play along. I shook the hand of numerous politicians from my town and the national government so I was surprised by this gesture. I played fine all in all but I could have fared better without my Uncle’s friends heckling every time I missed a shot. Golf Reisen is a good way to spend time with your family. It might have been the first time I joined a tournament that big but I’m glad that I was able to play with some of the best Philippine players for that charity event.
