MANG INASAL Partners with University Based Creators Through MI UNIVerse

Thursday, January 16, 2025

Your love for everything MANG INASAL just became more exciting especially for students from several colleges and universities. In previous campaigns, Mang Inasal tapped young influencers and had fun with what they've accomplished in such a short amount of time.

This 2025, they're starting a more meaningful one with MI UNIVerse, which name suggests, from University and Universe because they're doing it now with creators based in UST, De La Salle University, UP, Ateneo, NU, PUP, Silliman, Cebu Institute of Technology University, Philippine Womens University and MAPUA. This is part of their efforts to really connect with the new Gen Z consumers that frequent Mang Inasal restaurants all over the country. They are treating this as an actual community where folks from these schools will get to participate in various activations and events, so they could collaborate with more people based in these campuses, and beyond.

If you want to know more about it, visit manginasal.ph or manginasaldelivery.com.ph or their social channels because they'll be sharing more of it there!

Japanese Condo Living in Taft: Kizuna Heights

Friday, September 29, 2023

I've been recommending a lot of places to live in and sometimes it just is getting a little expensive to do because instead of just plainly recommending it, I'd mostly be contemplating to do investments instead LOL. Why? Because sometimes you get the nitty gritty details that are just too attractive to pass on. Case in point is Kizuna Heights, an urban residential mecca right in the heart of the university belt.

As the name suggests, it's a Japanese inspired condominium project that's situated in Taft Avenue. This place is very near De La Salle University, College of St. Benilde, UP Manila, Letran, Adamson, so it's pretty good for families with students in tow. It's a great place tor receive your next course or do graduate studies if you're looking for opportunities like that. It's also near business establishments, churches, banks, and the cultural district of Manila.

Ms. Teresa Tumbaga the property Division Head says "Living here is like taking part in Manila's rich history, you get to visit parks, iconic places because of its close proximity to Kizuna Heights. The address is highly sought after, and we are giving the chance to live in an urban metropolis, and have a life that they deserve at this address."

If you're looking for investments, you know where to go! Visit their official website vistaresidences.com.ph/properties/kizuna and their social channels to get more information.

Gwy Saludes Author of University Series "The Rain in España"

Sunday, June 18, 2023

A couple years ago, I was scrolling on fandom Twitter posts when I suddenly found one that seemed to be a story. I went on opened the consecutive Tweets and saw how people have been reading it, getting obsessed, but no one knew back then that it was a 12 year old girl who wrote these things. Now, we finally got to meet the person who started it all. She's Gwy Saludes, a very talented writer and artist under OC Records.

Clad in a preppy shirt, this young lady is now 22 and taking up Legal Management at Ateneo de Manila University. Gwy says "It's about campus life, starting from a Twitter series which I likened to big 4 universities. When "Along Espana" became popular, I wanted to do a longer version of it hence the University series. Even then, there were a lot of people who took interest in it and wanted to know about the culture being in these schools. "The Rain in España" was made when I was already in college. It was all about my experiences, my friends and people around me during that time. It was in Wattpad when I started these all, but really blew up when I wrote book 3. I have 6 books in this series which includes "The Rain in España", "Safe Skies, Archer", then "Chasing in the Wild!", "Avenues of the Diamond", "Golden Scenery of Tomorrow", and "Our Yesterday's Escape".

When asked about having her work become a series on television, she says "I'm very happy but at the same time, there is pressure because I know, there's a lot of people who are waiting for it especially the ones who read the books. I know they have a lot of expectations, I need to surpass this one when it gets shown when it gets adapted for TV. I act as a consultant for the show, I'm also very involved with the casting. I need to read and check the script, they listen to me if I wanted things to be changed since this is very collaborative."

"The adaptation though does not include everybody else's thought bubble. We are a team and we need to meet in the middle for any decision. From auditions, to script reading, we really saw Marco and Heaven fit the role. The plot is very close to the book, you need to look at the value of friendship, love, academics, balancing it. Even if you don't read the book, you'll get to understand the story. It's up to you if you get hooked in the books, I've went twice while they were making the film."

Here's the rest of our chat with her over lunch a few days ago:

You may now stream "The Rain in España" on Viva One or watch it every Sundays on TV5 at 4PM. She also said that the next book might be coming real soon so if you haven't subscribed yet, you better do! Download the app on Google Play today!

Stay Bug Free and Happy at Tacoma City

Wednesday, February 01, 2023

It's quite nippy at this time of the year in Tacoma, WA. The place is quite conducive to young adults as it's very near prestigious colleges and universities. Aside from that, it's got tons of gorgeous mountain views and fairly competitive on rent and real estate. The communities are quite nice especially near the University of Washington Tacoma, the community college, Puget Sound and Pacific Lutheran University area. Living conditions are apt for studying, work or starting off a family.

Though be warned that not all homes start out pristine and Tacoma does have it fair share of pests. Since it is in a relatively mountainous region, some ants, spiders, rodents, stinging insects, termites and mosquitoes are a common occurrence. Aside from that, house pets and animals carry mites, whilst food scraps attract roaches and mice. This is where you need to get pest control in Tacoma WA. Whether you are in a secluded area or the busy part of town, getting professionals to do the job is certainly going to get you peace of mind because they have experience. Much like the guys over at Bulwark who have been in the business since the late 90's. They are very familiar with the city and the different infestations that have bothered its inhabitants. They made sure to prioritize safety in your homes, schools, dorms and businesses.

Living in Tacoma also has its perks. Every day, there’s an opportunity to see artisans work on their lovely glass art that's quite known around the world. It's a hodgepodge of the classics and new. It's a place to also shop and dine. It's got lots of historic spots, outdoor activities, blog worthy food spots and nightlife that could rival any big town or city. You don't even have to choose between rural and urban communities because it's all here.

It certainly does not feel safe to have pests at home. It can cause health issues and trigger allergic reactions, breathing problems and even mental trauma. Eliminating pests is one thing, but preventing them from entering your home is another. Mice and other rodents actually are also scary. Imagine the amount of diseases and parasites they carry like ticks, fleas that live off its hosts. Because of the cold weather in Tacoma, it becomes conducive for them to live supplied with food, moisture and dwelling. It can also contaminate food at home and cause insurmountable damage to property especially when parts of your home is made of wood. Good news is, there are affordable pest control services around the country. Pests can also affect the biodiversity of the forests since it can prey on small animals like birds and reptiles, become invasive and cause irreparable damage to a region. This needs to be addressed as soon as possible so as to not affect your home, your community, public health overall and food supply.

This is why everyone needs to have their home checked. When you see one or its effects on your home’s structure, outdoor space or your actual walls, the time to act is now. Aside from that, you need to also see if they use products that are safe. Once they rid you of the pests, the next course of action is to make sure the stuff they use won’t affect your health. There are new technologies on pest control that can make this happen.

If you're already settled, make sure to take the trip to Chihuly Bridge of Glass, or the Union Station, enjoy the flora at Seymour Botanical Conservatory, or enjoy a ball game at the Cheney Stadium or Tacoma Dome. If you feel a little romantic, set your sights at the Browns Point Lighthouse or marvel at the architectural wonders of the Tacoma Armory. There are also quilt shops, historical museums, religious sites you can immerse yourself in.  You’ll have tons of things to do in the city, you just have to make sure your home is safe and pest free!

Party University 3: The Aftermath!

Friday, July 20, 2012

It was one awesome evening for music. It was one hell of a party. I had fun watching these guys dance their hearts out. It was my first time to also see quite a phenomenal BBOY battle in the Philippines and DJ's making real music like they were supposed to. I'll have to cut to the chase because this will be another photo heavy article but you'll definitely LOVE what you'll see when I went to PARTY UNIVERSITY 3!

For starters, I don't think I saw every single dance number but the ones I did catch were damn great!

This one was a little reminiscent of Showtime dance crews. They had comedy parts on this last bit.

This is Xtreme Connection, where this kid was flying literally. We also had a few laughs when these guys stripped naked, well almost LOL!

These guys were called Choreo Masters, funky but a bit boring since there were only two kids screaming and cheering them on. Honestly they won't win with this number.

Techno Jazz was quite awesome! These flying all gay group kept twisting and turning like a dead carcass. It was unbelievable! These guys are veterans I'm sure since they won a weekly finals spot in showtime. That maybe a drawback though because the contest might have called for something urban/hiphop.

Royalties had some cute ones, but overall the dance steps were not too complex and with the contest calling for a higher level of competition this wasn't that bad but not to great either. I had a booboo on the next crew and they were Crewlab, I think because I watched their performance I forgot to take a photo of them. They were like professionals with a clear street urban vibe. They were really in sync and felt like they've been doing this for a long time; it ended a little weak though. I even thought they were special guests LOL

Now what a treat to see these awesome guys in that event! This intermission number by LDP who had quite a number fast rappers just made me love this genre a little more. I saw Joseph Emara of Beatbox Philippines had a hard time doing his thing but when the rest of the guys joined in I was at awe! The guy called Abra raps so fast my jaw dropped. Rj was like a white guy, with his tone you'll end up mistaking him with nick lache... it was smooth. I love these guys.

As you can see this event was sponsored by the good looking people from urban athletics. These guys are awesome! I felt so good spending time with these people. (Ambait sobra!)

The competition started again. Streetcrew4 was quite good but felt something was missing. I just can't pinpoint what, but they were very in sync. I saw on this bit that some other sponsors on the floor like Wip caps and Pioneer Dj were mentioned. I want to have one of those headphones soon. =)

Honestly I couldn't move around that much because the place was packed! As you can see this is just a part of the place and the judges are in the middle of that chaos somewhere LOL. I'm sure they had the same feeling I had when people were getting thrown into the air haha!

Pinoy Hiphop had a very street vibe and their athleticism was quite evident but their costume was reminiscent of my boyscout uniform in highschool... Oh wait that is my uniform LOL! They had swag and moves were very complicated technically very badass skills.

Join The Quest had a few theatrics in the beginning, I thought I was in showtime but the girl they had with them was awesome and did every single move the guys did, maybe even better but I don't think they were first timers judging from how they presented it. The stage looked too small for them.

E Stars had several sync problems and it wasn't that much for show, they were quite not technically at par with the frontrunners but good attempt on the pyramid plus their version of the gyrating booties. They cleaned it up on the latter part of the dance.

Fusion had a kpop - robotic - classy - urban number and the kid that was with them was uber cute! It was probably a good decision to include this kid there. The crew had nice acrobatics overall.

Judging from the reaction of the crowd, these ladies are famous. Their group's name is PAGFA. They had some pretty nice members, all ladies. And oh boy they were hottttt! They had some sync problems but the amount of booty and splits made up for it. Plus they do stunts on heels that made me feel Missy Elliot would hire them right now.

Unschool also performed fresh from their win in Australia, they represented the Philippines there. And they really had swagger, I guess that's the reason they are guests here and made a good impression with the crowd.

Jay Masta and Peeps from Philippine All Stars were judging the BBOY competition, I saw them doing their thing at the back and I'm not surprised why people were closely watching them. You get respected here when you dance well. There were that good! It was also nice to see MC Dash keeping the crowd alive. This guy is just so good he deserves his own album! Did you already get a copy of it? =)

It was one of the most well attended parties I've ever been in. These guys know what they were doing. The crowd, the ambiance and everything on stage was awesome!

The BBOY Competition started!

Judges stood on the center whilst crews were on the right. When you win a round you stand on the left side of the stage. This was when it gets so competitive!

This last one where you see the guy flying was one of a few things that these BBOY artists did on the floor. He eventually won. Imagine the painstaking things they did to achieve one move after another, it was something I'd only see on dance battles outside the country. I honestly didn't know we have something like this on our own backyard!

I didn't get to stay that long for the DJ battle but I've got the list of winners here!

URBAN ATHLETICS' THROWDOWN DANCE COMPETITION

Champion: Pinoy HipHop (Php 25,000 cash and Pioneer Steez Type-S)
1st Runner-Up: Next To Innocence (Php 10,000 cash)
2nd Runner-Up: Fusion (Php 5,000 cash)

WIP CAP'S 7 To Smoke B-Boy Battle

PIONEER DIGITAL DJ BATTLE

TOP 3 (Will advance to the Finals on August 14 at Prive)

(Prizes-- Pioneer H-DJ 500 Headphones each)

DJ Jeff Almighty

Congratulations and I wish the guys who's going to win on August 14 a greater battle for the best DJ in town! I'm so happy the scenes getting bigger and better, I'll try and be there next time we have something like this! Thank you also to sponsors Urban Athletics, Wip Caps and Pioneer DJ! Here's to awesomeness and more of the urban and hiphop scene right here on my site! ;)
