DITO Made "Bayanihan" Felt in Southern Luzon

Saturday, November 16, 2024

Typhoon Kristine was quite devastating especially for those who are in Southern Luzon. DITO Telecommunity knows how hard it must have been so they didn't waste time giving a helping hand to our countrymen in that neck of the woods.

They have a program called Galing DITO CampX which fits the purpose, they partnered up with Batangas State University to hold a concert and used the proceeds for BSU's fundraising campaign. The concert entitled "PB is United, PB is ONE for Batangas" raised over Php 250,000 to help with daily essentials, food, temporary shelters and relief efforts for the communities they serve. Several DITO brand ambassadors and phenomenal PPOP group ALAMAT performed that evening specifically for the cause. They also built a multi faith chapel inside the campus to serve their students too.

DITO Chief Revenue Officer for Consumer Business Ms. Evelyn Jimenez emphasized how important it is to have the strength of the community be part of the efforts in rebuilding the province especially those who have been affected by the calamity. DITO stands by them and the Filipino people no matter how hard things may be for the folks there. At the DITO event, they also had students interact with their different booths, learn more about their products that's got new packages on prepaid, postpaid and home connections.

Over at Naga city, they made sure communication stands so they supported various LGU's by equipping them with needed phones and sim cards so folks from Dayangdang, Lerma and Triangulo can call for help, reach their families, and also have internet connection at the most pressing times.

In times of need, it's important for these things to become still accessible, so they could ease the hearts of worrying folks even if they are in the midst of danger there. If you want to know more about stories like these, go follow their social channels and check out their site dito.ph because everything's there!

A Call for "Isang Laban"

Tuesday, May 19, 2020

The "Isang Batangan, Isang Laban" online campaign is a collective effort of like minded professionals who are from the province of Batangas. They are UP Batangan Alumni members from different backgrounds and industries (Media, Production, Film, Advertising, Engineering, Marketing and Healthcare). Bound by their socio-civic spiritedness since college days, these individuals made an initiative to drive Bayanihan and solidarity in this time of COVID19 (pamdemic) with the aim to create a meaningful crusade to give honor to their alma mater and community, and aide in the fight against this dreaded virus. They want to specifically help healthcare workers in Batangas and no distance can stop them from doing this even in the time of crisis.

Everything is digital and with this, they were able to produce an original video with the help of medical doctors from the province and narrate actual experience in the frontlines, so they too could ask for help to equip hospitals/medical facilities to battle this unseen enemy.

They also got Ryan Agoncillo (a native from Rosario, Batangas) and Kimpoy Feliciano (a known online personality) to join this call and showcase this original piece which unveils the spirit of Bayanihan. It also talks of compassion and unity. True to the spirit of Batanguenos, to be brave in every fight, they call for One Batangas (Isang Batangan), One Fight (Isang Laban).

Upscale and Refined Living at Pontefino Hotel & Residences + Pontefino Prime

Wednesday, December 04, 2013

Batangas City's premier hotel and real estate destination requires no introduction. This is the legendary and awe strucking PonteFino Hotel and Residences. A place quite near everything else in Batangas City, this sprawling property boasts of the hotel, condominium units, town houses and lone units following a shabby chic neo victorian vibe.

This is also the place where the Ms. Earth 2013 Preliminary Swimsuit and Resort Wear competition will be held. True enough, we were about to see an epic night! Though before that, can we take a look around the Pontefino Hotel, Pontefino Residences and Pontefino Prime first?

I know, the hotel made its presence felt even from afar. It's tall, on top of a hill dwarfing even the local SM Batangas which sits almost at the front of it. There's a huge church, few hospitals, 2 International Schools and the local government buildings a few minutes away. Plus, the pool and its design is divine! How can you not live here right?

Case in point are these town houses (which really reminds me of the ones in New York/San Fo) just a few meters from the actual hotel. Pontefino Residences boasts of world class design and amenities that would be the envy of other real estate establishments in the Philippines. Their interiors are one of the most space efficient and aesthetically apt places that I've ever seen.

What's even great is that you can opt to have your place rented by the hotel itself so they can lease it and get you paid both on monthly amortizations and dues. All you have to do is ask. Most of these properties are sold out because of the terms that they presented to owners  giving them the most flexible payment schemes and no nonsense opportunities for the actual project to pay for itself in a certain amount of time. It's one of the most attractive things I've seen that they could offer for OFW's, Expats and investors. The property value also is increasing in this side of the world and I'm sure with the recent opening of more lanes in the StarTEX it'll be one of the busiest "Business Savvy" cities in the south pretty soon (as if it's not already LOL). You'll also have the amenities and access to some style establishments right in front of the hotel. Heck I got a haircut there! =)

Then we proceeded to their exclusive Pontefino Prime property which sits just a few minutes away from the Pontefino Hotel and Residences. This again is on top of a few hills and is going to be one of the few places that's directly accessible from SM Batangas' front property. They have built a private road network that will house a couple more condominium units and these wonderful townhouses reminiscent of still - the Neo Victorian vibe they were trying to exude in the other lot.

We took a short tour inside their model houses and it was like a different place. You just felt rich and mighty owning one of these for sure.

Pontefino Prime presents a more exclusive feel but still has the same amount of accessibility and promising property characteristics as in the other phases of this place. It kinda secures your investment growth, even with the property value alone you'll already be seeing this as a NO LOSS investment right from the get go. There are even some owners pooling money to buy multiple houses because they're already convinced how lucrative this is going to be. Ever had a property like this in Manila? I bet not. So make the short trip down to Batangas City and check the property out if you're still in doubt or talk to a property consultant and see how you can get the ball rolling.

Thanks to this young fine looking man and Property Manager Arman Marquez (on the right) for showing us around the lot. He says there'll be more of these places to be built sooner than you think and they are running out of it too as investors have been hogging this for the past year or so. He also says it might end up to be a little expensive come 2014 so the right time to buy is NOW.

If you're interested in acquiring one or more of these things or visit the city and wish to stay in the hotel, you can check out the rates on their official website

Ms. Earth 2013 Preliminaries - Batangas City

Tuesday, December 03, 2013

It was a morning of gorgeous girls, those with a passion for Mother Earth and how to take care of her. This pageant promoting environmental awareness didn't come much perfect time than this. Showcasing their cause and their countries in the 7,120 islands of the Philippines. It's one of the worlds largest publicized pageants aimed to find the lone candidate to fulfill duties to help causes for the environment through various activities. We've met part of the candidates who went to Batangas City a few days ago, mind you in the history of the Ms. Earth pageant the candidate who goes to this city ends up winning the competition. We met them at the Batangas City hall. Judging from the looks of it, Filipino culture just started to show itself the minute they stepped on the streets of this glorious city.

They built the facade of the City Hall to look like actual scenes in a normal Filipino native town, like a big diorama. Then the ladies stepped out of the bus one by one. All so gorgeous!

Now isn't that a sight for sore eyes? These ladies also went inside City Hall to have a courtesy call with the Mayor of Batangas City, the Honorable Eduardo B. Dimacuha. The ladies got welcomed with native fans and coconut juice for refreshments which they enjoyed quite obviously.

They were all smiles. They were also briefed a bit about what Batangas City is and how they've worked hard to build their city. Their 105 Barangays, of strong resilient people welcomed the candidates with open arms. Then they proceeded to a government building a couple of meters away from the city hall.

These ladies also went ahead and put their markings on a commemorative rock that has been done by other batches of contestants from Ms. Earth in the past. Aside from that, they were shown the green building that is running on Solar Power via the panels on the top floor of the building. The low carbon footprint and the waste management efforts of the local government has definitely paid off. They are planning to do this on every government building in the city, this shows how much they want to fully grasp the idea on how to take care of the environment, hook line and sinker.

They walked to a nearby museum to see Batangas City's history and how the place came about. The word "Batang" came from huge logs that was abundant in this area during the Spanish colonial period hence the name of the province. Ahmm.. okay, I'd be straight with you guys... I do adore Ms. Spain. I was able to talk to her a bit during this museum visit. She was so beautiful without that much makeup. I love her. We also went to this gorgeous Basilica of the Immaculate Concepcion and toured around the church grounds plus its museums. Really good, and you can really feel the history there.

Ms. Earth 2013 will be broadcasted on ABS-CBN, cable channels STAR World, Velvet, The Filipino Channel, streamed on Ustream and Venevisión on December 7, 2013. It will be hosted by popular guy Oli Pettigrew and Ms. Linda Black. It will happen in Versailles Palace Alabang, Muntinlupa City in Metro Manila, The Philippines.

Stay tuned for more of Ms. Earth 2013 and a short tour of PonteFino on my next posts! Thank you so much to the kind people of the City of Batangas and the awesome ones in PonteFino!
