LG Unveils Isaiah Cacnio Digital Piece "Fragments" at National Museum of Natural History

Wednesday, June 18, 2025

So much has happened at the National Museum of Natural History when the folks from LG and Isaiah Cacnio unveiled his series called "FRAGMENTS" which was inspired by geological wonders in the country, and is a fully digital art. This is the first time that the National Museum has also housed something digital, so in a way, they are making history. I've seen it in person and it was huge. It also moves, non-static, super different from the things they usually display. Fragments is made up of three installations called Where Fire Begins, Stories in Stone, and What Breaks, Flows. Graphics in different colors that move and emulate emotion, you could easily be carried away when you view it there.

LG also showcased their latest OLED and QNED TV's that uses AI and the latest generation of features they have for devices. They also took us to see how they've changed the technology used for their TV's and AI Magic remote. It had less buttons and more function, which is apparently a good way to ergonomically change the usual crazy presses we need to do to watch TV or use apps in it. They're definitely changing the way we watch TV.

Robi Domingo hosted the event and interviewed Bela Padilla, Mika Reyes and LA Tenorio about their experience using LG products. From gaming, to binge watching and using the LG OLED B5 and QNED's features, they got to discuss how they enjoyed every bit of it. Oh and before I forget, the National Museum of Natural History also received the Php 500,000 worth of display tech from LG. This is part of their commitment to culture and education (as this is not the first time they've done this). This will be part of the display for years, their way of honoring the past. Make sure you visit the museum and enjoy the art installations, it's truly rare to see things like it in the Philippines. You can have them though if you get them from appliance stores nationwide!

Cacnio's work was a stunner. I couldn't believe what I was seeing on display that afternoon. Go check it out at the National Museum. Entrance is free, but arrangements can be made for guided tours (I think it's a better option) so email them ahead.

Experience TCL's A300 Series NXTFRAME TV at Ronac Art Center This October

Saturday, October 26, 2024

The rain, the typhoon couldn't stop art enthusiasts at the Ronac Art Center in Ortigas Avenue, San Juan City. This was the handy work of TCL and legendary Bigboy Cheng as they welcomed us in this showcase of TCL NXTFRAME TV's as part of their A300 series. This collaboration was done to showcase their art, their installations, and digital art placed in their grand NXTFRAME TV's, the colors were just popping!

I could see the application of this in interior design. Instead of an eyesore, these sets become actual focal points in a room because of the sheer aesthetics it produce. Powered by AI, these new NXTFRAME TV's can display art from various iconic artists from different times and be seen either static, or random in these displays, a lot more affordable compared to other brands with the same (likely) feature. This caters to a lot of people that have a lifestyle of not just appreciating art, but those who want to personify their space, something that is important for families. Heck, you can even upload your own photos on it and have yourself or other people immortalized on screen, pretty fancy by any standards.

They also had partner artists CHILL, Reynold Dela Cruz, and collaborations with artists RA Tijing and Ronson Culibrina who digitized their artwork and displayed it on the museum for everyone to enjoy. Bigboy Cheng noted how those who own NFT's and other digital artwork could also utilize this by putting them in these NXTFRAME TV's and have it enjoyed by everyone instead of plainly keeping them in digital space or the void. With the ability of AI, this can also create various images for display with your preferred artists, which you can choose on the menu to display if you leave the TV on like a screensaver.

Bigboy says "These NXTFRAME TV's are beautiful, when TCL presented these to me, we thought of working with different artists, digitize their work and put them on these majestic screens, or use NFT's, because when I saw the results, I was just at awe on what TCL and artists can do. Thanks to them, we can appreciate it more as digital art. It also has different functions, all multipurpose, so where else can you see something like this! Thank you to everyone for being here!"

TCL Industries Brand Manager Joseph Cernitchez says "For TCL we pay attention to screens that are truly special. It is a reflection of our lifestyle, to meet the demands of our consumers. The new product is A300 Series NXTFRAME TV which you can integrate in any home. The Audio by Bang & Olufsen. It presents a more comfortable color , wide color gamut, reproducing colors of a real painting. NXTFRAME can turn you space like a gallery. It uses AI to display artwork, or you can upload your own photos for the same purpose. At TCL, you can inspire greatness."

He adds "The initial idea was to put an image in it, to become a focal point in your living room. Now you can customize what you want to put in it. Create your own atmosphere, for those special moments. It's also a powerful work companion too. You can also hang it like a piece of art, it will be seamless too. It also comes in magnetic suction type frame so you can have options with the frame too. Even if it is off, you can choose centuries worth of artwork to be displayed. You can also generate artwork through AI. All you need to do is input the artist and random words you love. It instantly creates one for you. By uploading your own photos can be displayed on QLED, making it more realistic and vibrant. No more glare or reflection caused by ambient light because of the matte screen. It is also ultra thin, sized much like an actual painting. We are also green, from recycled tea based remote, green packaging design, you will love our A300W and A300 Pro. You can also get it with the Bang and Olufsen Slim Wireless Soundbar."

This TCL A300 Series NXTFRAME TV only costs 89K, while the one packaged with the speaker is 110,995 pesos. It also comes with a customizable frame, which you can change if your room is in a different color palette. Highly customizable, display art, and use for work and entertainment. If you think you or your family deserve the best, you might want to check this out at the Ronac Art Center (til the end of this month) or get it through different home appliance and affiliate stores nationwide.

It's pretty cool to have one!

LG Celebrates 10 Years of OLED

Thursday, July 13, 2023

LG is celebrating their milestones especially the LG OLED TV. It's been a standard, and with good reason because they're the best in this technology. Back then, it wasn't common to see Organic Light Emitting Diode on TV screens but today, the same tech has changed the landscape of not just theirs, but every company that comes out with their own TV screen, all because they have pushed for its innovation.

Today, they've got LG OLED evo that has got a Brightness Booster, an a9 Gen5 AI Processor so you see those pixels with unbeatable clarity. Thing turns off on screen so those blacks are now deeper, but colors still remain rich and vibrant, something that you probably have never seen before on TV.

A history lesson ensued, they displayed generations of their OLED TV's from the beginning HD to now their OLED evo.

Gaming on it even has it's own setting, to enhance not just experience, but latency and better framerates

Some sets even had close to no gaps at the back, so you're basically looking at something that could depict artwork to change the feel of a space. That was nice!
They used a PS5 without a speaker attached, but it sounded quite nice. It's also Dolby Atmos ready, so for acoustic freaks, this would be satisfying.

They utilize their own LG WebOS 23 that's got apps, quick cards, easily accessible through the clicker that comes with the OLED TV from LG.

It's also got HDR like quality visuals, those textures would come quite handy in some games you need to play.

In a studio setting, you can teach KPOP moves with ease. It's also got multi screens if you need to look at materials and see yourself at the same time.

Shortcuts to use if your favorite team has a game, or use it to follow them if you miss one.

The brightest because the pixels light up independently.

LG Executives, several celebrities like Enrique Gil, Michelle Dee and Dominic Roque were in attendance, no interviews but just seeing them was precious!

It was certainly a good thing that they also did this in the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines where some got to dress up in cultural garbs like Hanboks and Jeogori. Thank you for the fun event LG! Congratulations and I fervently hope you'll continue to innovate, perhaps introduce new ones in the coming years. Real progress! Cheers!
