Legarda Pushes for Women's Hand at Disaster Risk Efforts

Wednesday, October 23, 2024

Change has been happening but more has to be done. In the midst of a huge typhoon today, it is but a good time to see how women play a huge role in disaster risk reduction. Honorable Senator Loren Legarda puts emphasis on how their roles whether lead or not, can actually spark change in the management of it.

At the Asia Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, she says "It is important that women have access to resources, training and education to make sure it becomes a reality. This includes those who are marginalized, whether women, girls or those with disabilities in the region. The countries in these areas have to have systems in place to warn people early, evacuation plans, and even recovery if needed be.. with everyone participating."

Her efforts on pushing for legislation that promote gender equality, the Clean Air Act, plus the Magna Carta for Women and the PDRRM act would help promote and protect them in times of disasters in the country. This puts policy making procedures include women as a requirement. Women's role in all these aspects remain important, to hopefully, also put their needs forward, without prejudice, in any decision that has to be made.

It just makes total sense.

Legarda Pushes for Stronger Clean Air/Climate Measures

Friday, September 13, 2024

It's the 5th time that the International Day of Clean Air for Blue Skies has been celebrated and this year, Senator Loren Legarda is once again pushing for the better implementation of landmark bill Philippine Clean Air Act of 1999. The importance of having strengthened commitment to the cause  is crucial for the benefit of its protection and its effects on public health in general.

Senator Legarda reiterates "When we did the Philippine Clean Air Act about 25 years ago, I knew it wasn't going to be a walk in the park. Knowing the cause for having better quality air is still baring conflicting ideas, statements on recent headlines, means it will surely take grave effects on social and community health. We need to work hard in the areas of stricter implementation in environmental laws and work on climate strategies that will make Filipino lives better. We have the planet on the line, the only one we have. There are a lot of people, and their families that are affected by it."

The Senator has been a stern advocate in environmental causes and wants efforts for climate action, development of renewable energy sources and protection for the communities affected by it.

Make sure you do your share.

LG Philippines Dares You to "Ask LG"

Friday, August 23, 2024

I've seen it on social channels several times, and now know why they're daring you to "Ask LG".

It's their initiative to make sure customers of their home appliances get to be closer than before with the brand, their customer service channels and information about your LG product. This is quite good to see especially from a consumer standpoint because it takes product knowledge to another level. Online content is useful and if it is used correctly, it should be data driven, much like what they are doing in "Ask LG".

In the series of videos, they will take frequently asked questions and make sure to answer details that consumers should and want to know about their LG products. This is actually big because as of this writing, the 100 videos they have published has already been watched by 26.5 Million times, and been subscribed by over 119 thousand followers on socials.

Imagine how easy this would be to be watched by customers who have access to the internet so they wouldn't have to go through the arduous task of calling, email or brick and mortar ways of getting help. It's like they've made these so you get the information you need, when you need it. This includes troubleshooting guides, product pages, things that you can see fast when you click and watch it.

In the videos, they include vacuum nozzles, cleaning sofa, why there's no ice on your freezer, things like that. They also teach through these videos how you can take care of your TV screens, your refrigerators, and the rest of your LG appliances. Make sure you follow their social channels now so you can get a whole lot more about your favorite LG products, simply online.

No more drama, just Ask LG!

Sunday, January 28, 2024

Looks like our friends from OPPO are starting the year fresh with the new OPPO Pad Air. It's their newest tablet made with entertainment and productivity in mind, plus way more storage than usual. I'm going to give you more reasons to have it.

Tablets certainly have been useful for so many things. Watching movies, streaming videos, and putting in a lot of work for office or creatives. The bigger display gives it more flexibility because you can see things even more than the usual smartphones we carry around. The OPPO Pad Air gives you a balance of both work and play. It also doesn't shortchange you on processing power, with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chip, 8 CPU Cores, and an AI System Booster 2.1, you can make work quite smooth and add social media, movies, and a little gaming when you want to get less stressed.

If it ain't enough there's also space for a 512 GB sd card for more storage if your internal one doesn't cut it. Battery life is amazing with its 7100mAh which can last you the whole work day. You can also do 18W fast charging and not wait too long when you need to go out with it. It's also light, designed slim, easy on the eyes with the 2K HD Eye Care it does when you take it out of the box.

They also made it affordable, so make sure you wait for updates at their website oppo.com.ph or their social channels when it gets out on February 1st. I'll update you soon about it!

UNBOXING: OPPO Enco Air2 Pro True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds

Sunday, October 30, 2022

Having a dependable audio device these days is but a necessity especially when we're either at home or traveling to a destination. The call to work happens in the not so opportune times and we can't blame time management alone for that. Meetings, press conferences, I've been there, and as funny as it sounds, I usually have to get online to ask questions live on broadcast TV for that. Gone are the days of wired devices that doesn't do so much for the noise we get outside. Coffee shops, traffic, even barking dogs at home, we find ourselves in lots of disturbances when we're talking to people and can't do anything about it. That's where the OPPO Enco Air2 Pro True Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds come in to play.

This very portable (it fits in my pocket), nicely shaped audio device has been making my life easier even if I'm in the restaurant having a cup of coffee, while it's crowded inside. It takes the noise out of the equation, much that it wouldn't be heard that much in meetings and conferences like what I did this week. The clear vocals was evident and I could transcribe speeches quite easily. Aside from that, even if it's raining outside I didn't quite worry because it's IP54 standard Dust and Water Resistant. As a casual gamer, I've used it for online games on my phone and see quite low latency, so no worries about delays of when you're in a tough round. It easily pairs too when once you've already established connection with it the first time. The controls are also easy to do as it just takes a few taps to control music or turn the noise cancelling feature on and off. The battery is also quite good because it lasts 28 hours, so a normal work schedule can be covered. It's also smart as it detects when it's on ear or not and pauses music when you're playing something on it.

Here's a rundown on how we unboxed it this weekend:

If this rocks your boat, the OPPO Enco Air2 Pro is available in Shopee and other online stores. You can buy them HERE.

The Importance of Healthy Air

Friday, May 29, 2015

Ever had the moment when you were about to go out of your house and your Mom was cooking fried fish that when you were about to step out you smelled filthy and fishy? That happened to me a lot of times, but I wouldn't want to ever get caught smelling like it when I'm about to meet celebrities and people from the business right? That would be so humiliating. Anyway, there are new technologies that can get you can depend upon like Air Purifiers. Honestly, I thought it wasn't intended for homes, but indoor air pollution is a real problem. This can also cause very serious health issues according to the World Health Organization. They've recorded 4.3 Million deaths from emissions from appliances like heaters and stoves. That just brings us to the fact that people aren't doing that much to have it prevented yet in the Philippines and the time to do it is now. How are we going to start you say? Exactly, this is where they come in.

Philips Air Purifiers work simply buy taking air in and cleaning them all out. Remember, we can't see the air we breathe and we're not just simply getting in clean ones too. With various pollutants, bacteria, viruses and allergens everywhere we're not protected that much if we're just going to depend on natural body defenses alone. You either heat it up, put light pulses, filters and other materials that could clean it before you take it in. It's no joke to get sick these days and of course, it's also very expensive to get rushed to hospitals. Though if you took the steps to clean up your house with this one, you're assured to have the best habitable home you could ever imagine and yes, clean air takes the action of two or more people. In your case, you have the option of checking out these devices in the Philips website. Just call 667-9000 if you are in city limits, or 1 800 107 445 477 since they have a toll free number too. Take that chance to save you and your family from wasting hundreds of dollars of hospital bills and enjoy living life as it should be! Why don't you try it today?

16th International Hot Air Balloon Festival

Friday, February 18, 2011

This is the first time I attended the Hot Air Balloon Festival and boy was it so far! I've been to Pampanga quite a number of times since I had an EX girlfriend sometime 2008-2009 (I think! Haha!) but this was another thing to attend to since I went along with my photographer friends from the C4. I was excited to say the least because this is kind of the first time I'm gonna see a balloon which is not the usual one you see when going out of the church. It can lift quite a few number of people and the premise was they are going to do that for the 150 dollars you have to pay them. We on the other hand just settled for the 150 peso entrance fee but we had to wake up and travel early (like 1AM in the morning) so we can get there around 4am. It was a long wait and still dark when we arrived on which I spent quite a few energy bars doing long exposures. It was not that nice looking at it now because the lights were too far obviously. I got a prime spot on front and we waited for a few hours just to see these giants in action. I love the big ones and the time they started their flames... it was nice to see in the dark.

They started to fill the balloons with hot air and all the flames were in double time. They needed to fly as soon as possible so they won't be having problems with the wind around 7-8AM. It was nice and very colorful. There were a lot of odd shapes and sizes. Some of them were just for show (like the one for Smart!) but the rest of them tried to fly. Only 2 had problems with it and the others went on a journey to Pangasinan (that is the finish line if I'm not mistaken). This was not bad for a first timer, I know some of my shots were awful but please spare me the drama... I'm a fashion photographer anyway! Hahahahah!

Now how's that? Heheh!

But I'm not that keen on going back to next year's celebration. The travel, the traffic and the people handling the event didn't prepare that much so it was a pain to do. I hurriedly went back to Manila because of work and because this trip was so tiring! I won't come back next year unfortunately! Enjoy the photos! =) Hope you like em!
