Aiai Delas Alas to do Concert for a Cause

Friday, April 05, 2019

Aiai Delas Alas has always been so modest. She’s a very successful host, movie or tv actress and she still is the reigning comedy concert queen. She’s also a very successful businesswoman, a very effective endorser, but little do people know how passionate she is when it comes to helping the community. She puts a part of her hard earned money in building a church which she deems has been an important part of her life, she attributes this on why she is successful.

This year, she’s making a full effort to give for the benefit of Kristong Hari Church in cooperation her sponsor HOBE Quick Cook Noodles. They manufacture different Hobe products such as Quick Cook Bihon, Pancit Canton, Special Palabok, Instant Pancit Bihon and others. They have been having Ms. Aiai as their endorser for years and they believe in the causes she’s supporting.

Ms. Aiai says “Kristong Hari Parish Church is very close to my heart, our last concert was For the Love of Mama, we now have a roof over our head but we still need more funds for the columbary part because this is a basilica. This is going to be on June 24 at the Araneta Coliseum. Our guests are to be announced soon but definitely it will be a hodgepodge of my friends. Tickets will be sold by the diocese, ticketnet and also the clergy. This will be filled with pop performances, it won’t be just songs of praise, but it will be a mix of both. This is set to be built all good in three years. I am part of the diocese, when I was passing by, I saw how people were just crossing towards this small house and figured it was a church. They were getting wet, so I helped to raise funds with them in the past. This is new, it will be bigger because it will be the whole diocese that will be behind me. It will be a bigger concert. I remember Alden, Ruru, Gabbi, Eric Santos and a lot of other artists performed for them. My faith isn’t something I broadcast but sometimes I need to so they can help me help the church. Hobe helped me put up the presscon and blogcon and I am so thankful for that. The diocese will also be giving this as a tribute for the retiring Father and it’s why the concert is called AI HEART (Roman Catholic Bishop of Novaliches) RCBN. There are still no ticket prices yet but we will announce soon. Show starts at 8pm and I will perform with the clergy. On May 1 I will have a movie with Viva, June 19 Feelenial, and hope I get an MMFF film too later this year. Make sure you watch Kara Mia, The Clash, and about 3 more movies. I am blessed beyond belief. I don’t take my roles at home and it is my way to go to other places to debrief, that’s how I deal with it. I hope you help us help to build our church especially those who are blessed, we want our Kristong Hari church to be built soon and with this concert, we can do that! Thank you Hobe and St. Peter Parish.”

Now make sure you get your tickets and support this concert because it is going to a good cause.

Happy Easter!

Monday, April 21, 2014

A lot happened in a few days. You probably did the same. I didn't go out of town that much but had a pretty good time spent with my folks at home.

I went on a day trip in Sta. Maria in Bulacan. It was my best friend's wedding anniversary so I had to rush and get there just to say hi. Aside from that, I bought a ton of these to take home.

It did spoil my diet of Glucerna and Century Tuna but I think it was worth it. I still managed to lift weights in between but of course if I binged on these crunchy wonderful chicharon it'll take a long time to get the weight back. Aside from that, I also had a very good easter lunch over at Peppermill Restaurant and Mixology Bar in Katipunan. My cousins from the US arrived and the uber nice food from that restaurant did not disappoint. If you want to see my review of Peppermill you can check the link provided.

And might I suggest you order a full slab of the Agave Beef Ribs which was superb!

I also went to church and prayed. I also got burned at stake haha. I'll be very busy this week though, stay tuned for more updates on Century Tuna Superbods which we might live blog all the way from Boracay! ;)

So how was your easter celebrated? :)

Caritas Manila's SEGUNDA MANA in Marikina City

Friday, March 07, 2014

Have you heard of Caritas Manila? Yes, it's the official Church of the Poor. They have just opened shops around the country to do just one thing, do charity. They are achieving this through their pet project SEGUNDA MANA - a charity store where anybody could donate 1) Used and pre loved items that may benefit others, 2) Slow and non moving inventories and 3) Goods that consume space in your closets, cabinets and garages.

As a matter of fact, they just opened a new one in Marikina Riverbanks Mall which aims to support Caritas Manila's Youth Servant Leadership and Education Program. This is their 13th store!

There's over a hundred companies that are regularly donating for their cause and they have over a thousand less fortunate kids as their scholars now, there will be more soon. The help that they have been getting from individuals is tremendous. Even this branch was given free by the mall owners as a way to give back to the community. It was attended by Vice Mayor Dr. Jose Fabian I. Cadiz, Riverbanks Center's Owners Meneleo Carlos Jr and his daughter Rosario, plus the Caritas Manila board of trustees Rosario Villar and Francisco Hugo . From the diocese of Antipolo there's Father Mabini Caldo and Father Bienvenido Miguel who also officiated the store's blessing.

The SEGUNDA MANA Charity Store also has branches in Caritas Manila head office in Pandacan, Makati Square, San Roque Cathedral, Harrison Plaza, Sta. Lucia Mall, Farmers Plaza, Isetann Cinerama Complex in Recto, Victory Central Mall in Caloocan, Starmall Edsa Shaw and Alabang, Victory Shopping Center in Alabang and Victory Pasay Mall in Pasay City. There's a thousand ways for you to help our less priviliged kababayans and just by donating or shopping in this establishment, you can do just that!

For more information on how you can help, email them at cm@caritasmanila.org.ph or call 562-0020 to 25 ext. 22 or 23. Else, you can visit their website at www.caritasmanila.org.ph

Pampanga: San Guillermo Parish Church

Tuesday, November 19, 2013

Also known as Bacolor church or Sunken Church, the San Guillermo Church has been the go to place for the religious people in Bacolor, Pampanga. Why Sunken? It has been one of the few places in Pampanga that has been ravaged by lahar and it has gotten almost 3/4 of the church buried. It was disheartening for them to see this happen on their most precious landmark.

Tours on this place can be assisted with the Church historian. She'll tell you what happened and how the mega dike saved this structure bringing hope to thousands of citizens in this town.

You might feel you have seen this church before, because it's the same one where they filmed "May Bukas Pa" a popular ABSCBN series. The entrance before was a huge door but it got buried so they use the three display windows that was previously for patron saints. They fixed it and the whole level a couple of years ago.

The front entrance was closed at the time we got there so we went to the right side which was previously a school.

The right side of the structure now houses the church's archives. It has paintings, sculptures, photos of the original structure and a multitude of statues of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Seen also above is one of the entrances of the room which also sank during the 90's eruption of Mount Pinatubo.

The church as you can see only had a few feet left so they opened up the ceiling so they can still utilize the structure.

The altar almost reached the ceiling which means they probably raised this part.

The columns which was previously a few feet up can now be reached. Physically impossible before so you can just imagine how high this was.

They had a few more structures on both sides of the altar which displays more of their patron saints. It was off limits as they probably were protecting it from physical damage.

It was 3PM and their bells rang quite beautifully for the angeluz if I'm not mistaken. It reminded us to pray that exact hour, it was heard across town.

This was part of the church structure at the back. As you can see they were really lucky that they got to still use it after that calamity. They are truly blessed.

We also saw some black pigs in the church grounds which they probably allow to roam freely. Quite cute.

You really should visit this place and see how lucky you are if you live elsewhere. Even tough they experienced this I really feel they were blessed to have been able to get their structure saved during that time. Thanks to the kind people at this church who welcomed us and showed us around. It was a very humbling experience!

Daily Moo's 10012010

Saturday, October 02, 2010

It's my Dad's birthday today! I arrived pretty late but we still went out for dinner. I was not tipsy from drinking beer again that morning. Yeah after two months of not drinking here I go again. Anyway, we had a lot of japanese food and yoghurt. What's important is that we still spent time together. It was really nice to do that!

The CBCP is really not the ones who should tell people what to do with their lives. Stick to religion. Stop meddling with politics. Stay on your churches and don't ever dictate what people should do and threaten them to be excommunicated from the roman catholic faith. I will ban you bishops from viewing my blog hahah!

SK and barangay elections are near and local officials are already filing for their candidacy. I wonder what will happen to the notion not to have SK groups anymore. I think they ought to be removed from the system because it is a waste of money. They only organize basketball games anyway, any kid could do that.

Their are a lot of things on the mind of the ERC because power corporations say there is ample amount of electricity but there are still blackouts in Mindanao. I wonder what solutions they are going to give... a nuclear plant perhaps? We just need that, but it really has to be safe!

I admit, I'm watching ANTM reruns again. I'm obviously looking for inspiration! LOL!

Who ever said shooting high fashion is bad for the morning?! I'm doing that now, wish me luck!

Before I end this post, may I just say CBCP ULOL! Hahahah! XD

Back to Church

Monday, March 08, 2010

I just went to church last Saturday evening. Well I dunno really what to feel but I'm definitely afraid my nightmares would occur again. Christ the King church is not that bad but boy it was definitely hot there. There is a ventilation problem plus the audio sucks because I couldn't really understand the priest. It's like everything's garbled. Now where else can you get someone going to church and complaining about it hahahaha!

I went there for the prayers and of course to accompany my Mom who has been the best thing that happened to me. We ate after that in Red Ribbon. I don't know but I think that store is getting under rated too. Their palabok and dinuguan is awesome. I like it a lot but they phased out their puto which makes it hard for me to eat the latter. Their drinks were not that complete too, I wonder what happened to that branch. That was supposed to be their main one and it looks like its not getting any better through the years. I would not be surprised if it closes down anytime soon. Either that or they have to renovate the place. It is deteriorating.

Celebrating with my Mom was one of the best things that happened this year. I know its quite simple, but it for me it is priceless. It may not be as big as anyone thought but it is the best one for me. Thanks for everything Mom I had fun!
