Marvel at Lights, Sights and Kind People at KAWIT, CAVITE This Holiday Season!

Thursday, December 07, 2023

I've been in this side of the South a couple of times, but wasn't able to see the actual Aguinaldo Shrine in all its glory. Yes, I've been in Kawit, Cavite last week. Honestly, it was so much fun to have been able to veer away from Metro Manila, and see the actual thing we read in history books. For those who don't know, Kawit, Cavite is home to Emilio Aguinaldo, the first President of the new Republic under the Malolos Congress. To say the least, this part of the world is quite historic. His involvement in the Spanish and American War was quite huge, and has won several times, recorded over years.

Today, the municipality is led by Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo. He is the great grand son of the former President. His namesake was certainly a thing that could pressure him, he was quite aware of it. Though with what leadership and service he provides his people, his personality is quite different. He was so humble and very shy with interviews. What's quite unquestionable is how he's loved by Kawiteños, I've seen their faces light up when talking about him and how they are all eager to share personal stories, experiences on how they were helped by him in one way or another, in their most trying times.

Since it's also Christmas, they hold events at the Aguinaldo Freedom Park where the bronze statue of the former President is located. It's on horseback, and quite massive to be seen by all. This lies in front of the famous Aguinaldo Shrine, where the country's first flag was raised. It was astounding to see the balcony or window immortalized in books and legal tender. While admiring that, we were toured inside the home, the original structure, same wood over a hundred years could tell tons of stories.

The Kawit LGU has made this place light up in recent years. If you saw what I saw during the evening event, more than the lights they installed and fireworks, I was super surprised at the mere number of people who flocked the park. That place is huge, but Moms, friends, their whole families were in tow... with pure smiles on their faces. It was infectious, they fancied light installations set at different colors and speed. They also had lots of light tunnels where the kids run around and took lots of selfies. Various forms of Santa Claus, Butterflies, things that both the LGU and the Mayor wanted so people could celebrate in this place for FREE during the yuletide season. Same reason why even the nearby towns go to the Aguinaldo Freedom Park as well. Just take a look at the actual Aguinaldo Shrine at night, as they also lit up the place with a 3D projector. They were also mighty proud about their churches, I was honestly envious seeing all that!

Here's our interview with the Kawit, Cavite LGU. Meet Mayor Angelo Aguinaldo's Mother Konsehala Armie Aguinaldo, Konsehal Alvin Bunag, Municipal Administrator Engr. Rey Santos, and Kawit PIO Lead Mathew Juganas.

The Aguinaldo Freedom Park and Aguinaldo Shrine just looks so different at night!

They even have the finger heart, symbolizing their triple A goal of #AlagangAngeloAguinaldo, where one exudes Puso (heart) and Malasakit (concern for others).

Well loved Diocesan Shrine of St. Mary Magdalene, concert during the Kawit Christmas lighting ceremony with Kapuso Singer Nef Medina, various artists and Konsehala Armie Aguinaldo.

The very shy Mayor Angelo Emilio Aguinaldo, obliged us with an interview. He was very proud of his hometown, and wanted to make known how much of a destination this would be during the Christmas season.

I've seen the reason why they love the Mayor, he goes over and beyond what's expected of him. He knows his mandate, and makes sure every sense of the word "service" gets to the people of Kawit, Cavite. It's no surprise why "sana all" comments abound his FB page, because a LOT of people should be inspired by his story. I would have never thought about visiting Kawit in the past, but THIS has indeed change my mind. It's not just history, but its people that make this place GREAT!

If you want to see the display, it turns ON at around 6PM. They are extending hours til 12AM since it is already December. Thank you for the opportunity to see your beautiful place, and experience how kind people are in Kawit, Cavite. For your convenience, I have embedded a map so you can go there during holidays. Please enjoy!

Thank you Mayor Angelo and Ganiel!

Can't wait to see more of Kawit, Cavite soon!

It’s Christmas and we all know we have to put up our Christmas decorations. Have you thought about how much electricity people use for lights alone? Well we met with Firefly Electric Company executives this afternoon to see how we can save a lot if we get LED’s on our trees and just about any electric socket imaginable in your home. Do you know that even if an LED lightbulb cost 10-15 pesos more than the usual bulb, it actually lasts twice as much or even more? So you definitely get more than what you pay for.

Ms. Amby Molina the Marketing Manager of Firefly Electric and Lighting Corporation says “We want to celebrate Christmas happy, peaceful and safe. Our LED Bright Christmas Lights that are safe, affordable and this year so Firefly Electric being in the market for 15 years, our core products would be perfect for your homes. Our LED Christmas lights now have green versions and transparent, and also dynamic lights now. Some customers want some in curtain lights or string lights. Almost all we have are around 4 meters. We are also certified by the DTI, so government testers go to our factories plus Meralco gave us an Orange tag, as we are the first branded Christmas lights manufacturer in the country. We guide our customers about what our products are, we have longer lines too and this is why Firefly Electric Corporation is the leading brand in the Philippines. We also have outdoor and indoor type, we also have tested it to last 3 years for 6 hour use everyday so this won’t be broken under normal circumstances. We also have a one month warranty. All our products are made with quality but affordable!”

Ms. Alice Mallari the Brand Supervisor adds “Over a decade ago we started these installations including this new 71 ft Christmas Tree. All the 40,000 bulbs and Meteor lights we used here are energy efficient, we also followed the Winter Wonderland theme of SM Mall of Asia. It took us 4 months to design and build it, this will stand on the SM By The Bay until Three Kings celebrations next year. We have all made this with our efforts, from ground up.”

So for your lighting needs, you may purchase Firefly in your leading hardware stores across the country.

You really get what you pay for. In their case, it may be even more!

A Trinity of Events

Sunday, October 14, 2018

Three events in two days so I had to make this quick. First off is the book signing of vixen Arci Munoz, yes she has a book and she cooks! Would you believe? Aside from that, her book has a lot of connections with dealing with exes, of how to move on, and tons of advise about how not to pursue unhealthy relationships, in her healthy point of view.

Her recipes are actually simple, it can easily be followed by those who can't cook especially the easy fried numbers and combo desserts.

We also covered the announcement of the Top 20 short films who qualified for Lights Camera Magic and if you're interested, check out the entries on their main website, also their social media pages. We met Piolo Pascual, Nash Aguas, Ketchup Eusebio and others who served as jurors for the contest. They will announce the top 3 very soon so please wait for the details when that happens.

Here's a video of our coverage, please enjoy!

So, how was your day? :)

AYALA Christmas Lights Show!

Monday, November 19, 2012

Where have you been lately? Been going out in the mall? Going to parks? Dating someone and not able to think of places to go? Well don't despair because there's something new in Ayala that would definitely make your Christmas a tad better!

This is the AYALA Christmas Lights Show which happens at the Ayala Triangle Gardens in MAKATI. It's right across the Philippine Stock Exchange and the place get's packed at night. This particular display is absolutely free so if you don't have anything to do this Christmas and you want your family, friends or loved one to enjoy here in the Philippines, then this is definitely the place to go!

I never thought I could have something worthy to be my FACEBOOK cover but am now the envy of my friends and family. Facebook cover images like these just give me the chills. It's the perfect thing to have if you want to show off your kind of photography. It's been ages since we've changed the ones on my pages too. It's a pretty neat way of attracting people to interact or just like your page (which reminds me you ought to do that right now!). So now, it's the cover page of my site. Isn't it neat?

Going back to AYALA, even though it is a business district you should always have something to spark the interest of the people inhabiting the place. People who work in nearby tall buildings flock the area to see a glimpse of the lights to the latest tunes, which is available in Philippine and English contemporary Christmas music. You'll see new things happen before your eyes and you wouldn't believe they can actually do these wonderful things in one spot. It actually runs from 6PM up until 9PM with 30 minute intervals. Then after that they just leave the lights on until 12AM. You should definitely visit this place because if you've seen what I've seen last weekend you'll probably come back and bring your friends too. Nearby restaurants would make your trip so convenient because you can grab something to bite when you're hungry. Else, you can just opt for a cup of coffee and share it with the one you love!

We had tons of fun playing there. Now it's your turn to do the same! Come and join the thousands who throng to AYALA this season and make sure you drop by the AYALA Christmas Lights Show too!

Lights Modified

Wednesday, March 03, 2010

I just told you a couple entries ago that I was planning to purchase an extra car. I have the budget now so I am carefully choosing between these two.

This is the TOYOTA PRIUS and the HONDA. They are the best HYBRID cars in the market. With this selling like hotcakes in the US and Europe I would like to take in consideration the advantages of having an environmental friendly car. I am totally going green. I do have to make some certain modifications with head and tail lights since I prefer a brighter kind like the ones that can be bought at on line stores like Hid. I would really love to see myself driving across the highways of Manila with a certain extra BLING and accessories. I also want gasoline efficient cars that would get me better mileage even if it is switching back and forth to electric motors. The weird thing though that I would probably feel after driving this is the quiet motor. My brother who has one told me that you would feel the car suddenly shuts down even if you are still moving. With the engine's sound off like that you would get nervous because you still are driving the same car. I better get some extra blinkers through CARID so I won't hit anybody that would not feel me passing by. Have you seen kits that slide as cool bluish white palette as this one?!

That is what I plan to get when the actual car arrives in my garage. I already have built storage for the stuff that was left there for years so it is clear for one more. The reason I want to get this particular light color is because I could not see that much in white or yellow light. Maybe this is a medical condition I have not really gotten checked out but this just happens at night and it is still manageable. Why would I settle for the stock one when I could get the better XENON HID Lights instead?! Isn't that right?!

Ride and Stay Alive

Wednesday, May 06, 2009

I just left the chat box a few seconds ago. I was talking to my best friend from a nearby province in the North because we have not seen each other in a while. Yes guys and gals, he was the same guy who had a motorcycle accident more than a year ago. I think he's okay now considering he lost his eyesight on the left and had major constructive surgery done on his face. He's got a daughter and family to take care of and even if it did cost a lot he needed to survive for them. I was at his side the whole yard and tried my best to at least ease some of his burden. With the boom and popularity of this mode of transport in the Philippines, we learned the hard way about the importance of road safety.

I love motorcycles do not get me wrong. I dream of having these particular bikes in my garage the next few years.

I know it is a long shot, but hey! You and I know anything is possible once you set your mind to it. In that same extent, I know I would be more careful about riding super bikes like these. In storms and gloomy weather, we should always check everything in our vehicle. The same goes with this DUCATI bike that Tom Cruise used in MI3. Riding in the night would also require us to get the best Motorcycle Light Bulbs. No matter how safe you think you are in the road we are powerless against other vehicles that do not obey traffic rules and regulations. I mean how in the world you could see in a foggy night for example if you do not have Harley Light Bulbs that can pierce through anything in the dark. Not only would you get lost, but you can easily get into trouble with the things in front of you. You could fall off a cliff God forbid if you do not take care of your bikes. Kawasaki Bulbs are also excellent in this particular dilemma. Since they are intended more for the Asian riders, they know how it is in this side of the world. Getting the best things for our motorcycles would not just make our rides pretty, it would help us stay alive the least.

I hope you learn something from this experience. Wear a helmet while on the road, it would not make you look silly but make other people think there is something inside your head right?! Take care!

FORD MUSTANG : An All American Car

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

The Ford Mustang; dubbed as an ALL AMERICAN car and status symbol of the powerful. Its the best, rough and tough man handled automobile in the US. With the recession hampering loans and financing for cars and homes, getting what your money's worth is the ideal way to get through ownership of these monsters.

Parts and accessories are available in the US but what store would even give you the best deal without the hassle of going through the logistics of getting that hard to find spare part when you need it. The accessories would make your Mustang look different from the others. Body kits would get your car noticeable by everyone; I mean who doesn't like a real ride? Your car's audio and video can also be arranged so you won't have to go writing MTV to pimp your car. Everything should be shiny and new from the hood, headers, lights, the roof, spoilers, and tail lights. You can purchase all these things online and even have the corresponding support you need to get that car of yours customized to your taste. It doesn't stop there obviously and the only limitation is your imagination. Mustang Parts have never been just this hot!
