It must have been a little too hard for people to absorb the term work-life balance. Whoever coined it must have been buried in work still to take credit for it, but I fully understand because we all have such a fast paced lifestyle. This makes you think a lot about how you could start your day right.

Yes, a good routine would certainly be beneficial for folks like us. Starting at breakfast, we need to make sure we have the right amount of food that can increase our energy levels so when it's already time for work, we have the power to induce productivity when we need to. A short prayer, meditation, would clear your mind off things before ticking off tasks in the office.

Waking up with a meal like yogurt and oatmeal would be sufficient, something fruity and light so you don't feel sluggish in the first hour, to last throughout the day. Like Dr. Angelica Carsula who does this most of the time, she feels it's best to have a low fat yogurt, and team it up with something that is good for digestion (oh oatmeal does that!).

Aside from the usual fare, you could add activities to help you get into the mood. There are tons of exercises that Eloiza Regaliza suggests you do, particularly running and riding a bike. It gives her focus to do a lot, but never forces friends to over exert themselves, just encourage them. She even adds eggs, veggies and bread with the yogurt too.

He does the same routine to make sure he has the energy to also make the audience feel his vibe, as it is one of his priorities. BLK513’s Secret Menu

A few days ago, BLK513 opened it’s newest branch at UP Town Center in Katipunan Avenue. The place sits almost right in the center beside Torch and Casa Verde. The look, always instagrammable but this one is quite special because of it’s new SECRET MENU.

Yogurt is healthy and doctors always advise to have this for good digestion. In BLK513, they’ve always been known to step up the Yogurt game, so aside from their best selling black charcoal varieties, they now have this CAGE set up for you inside their store.

Obviously you can’t enter here without a password. So go to the counter and order among their newest concoctions.

Now I was here to get my experience of the Strawberry Tea Cheesecake, so after entering the password and the gate, they have a full blown Yogurt bar inside that prepares the SECRET MENU items I mentioned earlier.

Llaollao Yogurt Shop Opens at Trinoma

I've seen one of their branches at the back of Glorietta just before you go outside Landmark in Makati City. I was pretty much intrigued about what they were selling because most of the time they were covered in people, just like this one today. Apparently they've expanded and set up shop at Trinoma. This was a blogger friend's favorite and I didn't know why he kept on going to this Llaollao shop (pronounced Yao Yao) in Makati even if he was from the south because he says he really likes it. I bought one just for kicks and chose three different toppings. This is a Yogurt shop, but a bit different from the ones I tasted. This one was more tangy, one that would make you grimace a little, like a kick if this was chili. I guess that's why they've been very popular among Filipinos. I like it too.

Now since they've opened this branch in Trinoma, they also held a REALLY GOOD promo. They announced FREE SLUSHIE for every purchase of Php150 on any of their products. People started lining up as early as 5AM this morning, no joke. I wasn't really surprised though, they were so excited to get their hands on yogurt this good.

So I picked up a cup too. I was a little too shy because it was my first time doing this. Swirled my cup slowly, but the guy beside me (who was from Llaollao) was already panicking haha. I forgot to put more space on the sides for the toppings LOL. So I basically have a cup overflowing with Yogurt, and by my standards it wasn't that bad ah! Again, I loved how tangy their yogurt is and that evidently tasted like it.

Then I prepared space for the toppings, by pushing the frozen yogurt on the side to the center. I guess I have about a few centimeters more. So I got real fruits in the mix. I took grapes, mangoes, kiwis and 4 small chocolate coated peanuts (I think) and crushed grahams... which was so good. Ugh I wanted another cup, but had to cut down on sugar these days. If I didn't think about my diet I would have had 5 haha.

Tada! This is my very own cup!

I got my perfect cup made, I liked it a LOT. Now, it's time for you to experience it too. Go head on to Trinoma's second floor and look for the kiosk right after the escalator and you'll find them there. Fill up a cup with yogurt, get the toppings and experience it yourselves. See why people have been raving about this cup of good yogurt for years now. This ain't just a brand from Spain, it's something that Filipinos love now. I absolutely did.

BLK513 Opens in SM North Edsa: First 200 Customers FREE!

Just had to write about this today because BLK513 is giving away FREE products this September 8th. I think I've seen their branch in Megamall but this one is new. It's right beside the JCO store and across the Cinemas at the 2nd Floor of SM North Edsa's Main Building. BLK513 has got those lovely Black Yogurt selling like hotcakes in the malls and with good reason. I've tasted it earlier and if you think HEALTHY, that's the perfect personification of it. It's black because of Activated Charcoal, an ingredient that whitens teeth, cures gas and bloating. It also prevents hangovers, and all those healthy stuff (must be taken with water). Now that it's mixed with a healthier version of yogurt, it's going to be even better as it's gluten free.

The lovely products inside the store include cookies, crunchy vegan granola which you can also mix with your yogurt concoction.

Thanks to Seph Cham for introducing us to the owners, and also inviting us to the launch. As you can see he likes it a LOT. We tried two things while inside the store, the Black Yogurt and the Skim Milk topped with roasted cacao beans. An original, it actually goes well together.

To make one you have to choose one crunchy ingredient, two fruits, and one syrup. 

I chose the Malt Sandwich for the crunch as it's reminiscent of Milo turned into cookies. I also got that lovely Dragon Fruit and the sweet golden mangoes because I wanted something tangy and sweet to begin with. 

Then I chose Nutella Fudge for my syrup and added the Espresso Coffee (yes you can get additional syrup for a few pesos more) if you want your Black Yogurt to be more fancy. I loved it!

Well here's more good news, if you're in SM North Edsa and want to experience BLK531, first 200 customers get free Yogurt all on the house! Lovin' Californiaberry!

Staying healthy these days take a lot of effort. Going to the gym, changing lifestyles and eating healthy have to happen before you can see ultimate change. Yes, we're guilty to have to given up desserts and snacks. This time, we have healthy options. There's no excuse why we don't have to choose this lifestyle; if you've got awesome food to go with it... it's a dream waiting to happen!

I visited California Berry yesterday and saw how I could get what I want without feeling guilty. For a cup and more of this Frozen Yogurt or Ice Shavings they call "Ice Ice Baby"... it's blissful and yummy at the same time. It's the best alternative for Ice Cream and the health benefits are tremendous!

They've got the ordinary frozen Yogurt, but this month they've got BLUEBERRY yogurt on their shelves. It's seasonal, they change flavors every now and then.. and this one was oh so yummy!



A spoonful of this great concoction would be heaven on earth. It's got the right consistency, its tangy but just have the right amount of it. Very close to the fruit flavor without that grainy feeling you get from it.

The Toppings!

When you want something good, you have to think about the toppings. They definitely have a lot to choose from so we did a couple of versions with the frozen yogurt and Ice Ice Baby. This one's got the plain and blueberry flavored yogurt plus KIWI fruit, cherry and mangoes! Ummm!!!

How can you resist? =)

Strawberry flavored Ice Ice Baby with Jelly Beans, Orange Candies and small Chocolate kisses!

Melon Ice Ice Baby Flavor flooded with KIWI Fruit and Mangoes. It's one of the best combinations I've ever tried!

For the sweet tooth, you can go for the tiny oreo cookies and candy sprinkles. The Taro flavored Ice Ice Baby is one of their best sellers! I'm not surprised!

For those who LOVE texture on their cup, why not try Mangoes, Walnuts and Lychee pieces on your blueberry yogurt! Yummy!

Take different things on your Melon Ice Ice Baby and enjoy it with marshmallow and Cherries. You can't have enough of cherries! =)

If you're up for some classy add on's you can get the Almond slivers.
Remember that you can get more toppings for an additional 20 pesos!

Go healthy and get this one right after you go to the gym. Taro Ice Ice Baby flavor and slices of Banana for that filling dessert! Cheat with a little blueberry syrup too!

The Pasta's!

The Pasta selections in Californiaberry spells a lot like comfort food. They serve it in a few minutes keeping it hot and fresh, truly meant for people on the go. If you are up for a quick lunch or a snack you can choose up to 4 variants which are in their store!

Think about that thick white sauce and pieces of juicy seafood items like shrimp and calamari rings. It's one of their best sellers!

This was the Spaghetti Bolognese which we ordered a few months ago, you should get one of these when you don't want an overload of cheese and stay purist with meat sauces!

The Cheesy Lasagna! Oooh I can't resist the cheese layers and meaty sauce of this one! You'll surely behave like Garfield with one bite of this favorite item on the menu!
