“He had a slight attack because of stress due to the recent passing of his mother (Lisette Buendia), and their sound check which lasted till 3 a.m. today (Saturday),” said MTV Philippines and Radiohead director for marketing Ronald Esguerra “But we have received word that Ely is now in stable condition.”

My hero Ely Buendia suffered a heart attack on January 7, 2007 and had already undergone surgery.The concert, which was staged at the Fort Bonifacio Global City open field in Taguig, started at around 8:15 p.m. and paused for a break at around 9:30 p.m. The Eraserheads opened their much-awaited reunion concert with “Alapaap” and “Ligaya,” complete with fireworks display that bested even WWE!.After waiting at the open field for an hour since the intermission hoping for further developments, loyal fans of the band calmly left the concert area after being treated to a thrilling first set.I was touched by the fact that the fans did not clamour for the concert's continuance but understood that Ely has to be safe.

MTV Philippines’ Esguerra said that while he is hoping for a second Eraserheads reunion concert, there is still no word on whether another one would be staged.
“We have received no word of a Part Two but we also hope there will be one,” he said.

KUMAGCOW'S Food Review: DQ Mango Almond Blizzard (1st Evah!)

Well people... I just had my first taste of DQ's Mango Almond Blizzard. Sorry to say, I just did not like it. You know why? The ice cream was not "mango" enough... there were not so much of a mango when I ate it... it would have been nice if it had mango bits on it... but instead they only put a measley amount of mangoish syrup on it that did not even taste like the real thing. The almonds? OMG.. I thought I would enjoy it but NO... the chunks of almonds were too big... and mind you when I took several crunches on it the almond skin sticks to your throat I coughed a couple of times ingesting this supposed treat. I did not enjoy it. The strawberry kitkat was way better. I'll give this 1 Kumag. Hey! At least I got fed right?

Ely Buendia was rushed to the hospital OMG. The Eraserheads Reunion Concert was cut short because of this. After they played their songs Alapaap and Ligaya they went on a break then the MTV Producer and his sister went up on stage after a 20 minute intermission number. They are all still on the field waiting for further announcements. Ely Buendia was rushed to the Makati Medical Center and doctors say it was due to overfatigue. Reports indicate that Buendia is now in stable condition. They all asked for prayers for the band's lead singer and songwriter. IMHO they should have made practices days before the concert. How I just wish he's okay. I hope this is not the end of it. He collapsed and sat onstage after singing Lightyears and the audience thought he was just acting. Raimund Marasigan also came out onstage, followed by Marcus Adoro and Buddy Zabala who assisted Buendia's sister in announcing that the concert would no longer continue. Let's just pray for him T_T

Cabin Cuddler a Lifesaver!

There are currently hypoallergenic varieties of down pillows to allow people sensitive to down to enjoy the comfort of feather or down pillows. In Asia, buckwheat is common filler, as are plastic imitations. Such pillows tend to be smaller than a standard pillow. A trip to New York was an eye opener to me. Did you know that airlines nowadays no longer carry blankets or pillows? It’s crazy huh?! Nobody told me or even see it in the news. It was really devastating since you would need to be comfortably seated in a 17 hour flight in a land that's 10,000 miles away from where you are. My mom was right telling me I had to be ready for anything... of course I wouldn't want to sleep in the streets of New York if I ran out of money lolz... its a good thing I brought along my handy dandy Cabin Cuddler !



I was saved by this new product that had a travel blanket system that's contour cut covers every inch of my body. The pockets on the foot part always keep my feet warm. It's perfect for airline and home/office use. The soft cushioned reversible tote bag holds both the inflatable pillow and blanket, so its really easy to carry! Mine fits on my hand carry too... ~I'll let you in a story later about it too ^_^.

In the office, not that I sleep on the job (0_o) (don't yah insinuate anything!) I had brought along this Cabin Cuddler. In a cold office with men who have the temperature at 65 degrees because they are all wearing suits and I was merely wearing my lil old comfy shirt I'm sure to have frozen to death (0_o). Good thing the blanket was all i need so I could continue pressing my keyboard and finish tons of reports. Cabin Cuddler even makes the workplace livable wouldn't you believe that! ^_^

I would like to recommend this product to everyone who wants to be ready for just about anything. For people cute like me.

Things that happened today kinda knocked me off my feet... I watched the news this evening... It was all bad... all about the war down south... Like this stuff about the government and the MILF and the numerous ways they point fingers at each other. The Philippines looks like a bloodbath in the south. In the island of Mindanao where there is a lot of promise, there is right now WAR. Yes ladies and gentlemen, they are at WAR.

The MOA that was supposed to be signed in by the government giving territorial privileges to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front did not push through because the Supreme Court stopped the proceedings since they considered this unconstitutional for the Executive branch to give out land that belongs to the republic. Yes, I hate the MILF... not because I am Christian... but as a citizen of the Philippines I do not want anyone hurting the civilians and making them human shields for their cause. A couple of their supposed men blatantly went "TRAITOR" and ransacked several towns in the war stricken land. Killing a few soldiers and civilian too. People think its simple, but this has gone for hundreds and hundreds of years. I would prefer that the government just stop these traitors and start dealing with these hooligans. Stop them from hurting people down there, they have their rights too you know! (-_-)"

All I want is peace down there, can't these guys just stop and just work their *** off like me. I remember the basic principle of life taught to me when I was in high school...we need to study to learn, learn to earn, earn to live, live to serve others... now why couldn't we just do that... I want to punish these people who think too highly of themselves because they weild guns... they think they can do anything because they have power over others... I hope they know what they are doing... I hope the government can resolve this once and for all.

USA Men's Basketball wins Gold in Beijing

This was the only medal the 2008 USA Dream Team and the whole USA wanted.

The US team won the Gold medal in this year's 2008 Summer Olympics. They only gave the mightiest men that the NBA has so it is quite obvious that they will win.

USA 118 (Dwyane Wade 27, Kobe Bryant 20, LeBron James 14, Chris Paul 13, Carmelo Anthony 13, )

Spain 107 (Rudy Fernandez 22, Pau Gasol 21, Juan Carlos Navarro 18, Carlos Jiminez 12, Marc Gasol 11, Felipe Reyes 10).

In the end, USA prevailed 118-107. Gripping the Gold medal in the games!

Scores shows that this is a highly defensive match between the two countires. US Team while on play were complaining heavy fouls and bombardment from the Spaniards. This meant a lot of course so they all did their very best. ^_^

A superb game-high 27 points from Dwyane Wade (21 of them in the first half) and 20 from Kobe Bryant the US took the best shots from the Spanish. They led 69-61 at the half, but saw Spain close to within four in the third quarter and two in the final period. Then Bryant nailed a four-point play and the momentum was with the Americans, try as the Spanish might.

And they tried plenty, right till the bitter end. The electric Rudy Fernandez and the towering Pau Gasol were huge for the gallant silver medalists. Repeatedly, the likes of Bryant, Wade and LeBron James had repeated the mantra that this was bigger than anything they'd done in the NBA. This was for their country, they said, and that made it so. After six long years, the USA finally rules the basketball world again. Argentina, even without injured star Manu Ginobili, were too good for Lithuania in the bronze playoff with an 87-85 victory giving them their second straight Games medal after they had won gold in Athens.

LATEST MEDAL STANDINGS : BEIJING 2008 OLYMPIC GAMES (UPDATED 2:22am Aug 24 PST!!!)

Well, the Philippines won a Gold Medal in Wushu but since it is not a recognized Olympic sport its not going to count in the Medal Standings. Good job though! I am disappointed however because we did not win a single medal that can be counted there.
