The tech21 IMPACTOLOGY Impact Shell for the iPhone 5

Friday, November 15, 2013

I bought my iPhone 5 case from a kiosk in Eastwood City a few months ago. It's been able to sufficiently protect my phone but there are hits and misses. One is this awkward looking gap on the back to show the Apple logo and two is the actual case - and how it promotes dirt on the crevices of my phone because they probably missed some spots which should have been shielded from the elements. Plus I'm really afraid to see what would happen if I accidentally drop this smartphone oh the heavens above forbid.

This is the tech21 IMPACTOLOGY Impact Shell for the iPhone 5. The name itself is a mouthful but believe me there's even bigger news on the case itself. It's flexible TPU shell (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) isn't just plain there to protect your phone. There's a technology behind it called D30 which is a fabric technology designed to ultimately dissipate impact if you drop your phone and distributes it on surrounding surface just to make sure it doesn't get damaged. It's shock absorbing but flexible. If you don't know, these are the kind of materials used in football helmets, motoring armors and military grade wear. That's how tough this is.

I wanted to change my existing iPhone 5 case because I couldn't fit some of my 3.5 mm jacks which is pretty normal for headphones, ear plugs or speakers. If that couldn't function well, how can I use it? Now that was really tough.

The part for the volume control was even exposed and I had to find some way to make that taken cared of because the last thing I'd want is a dirty phone.

The answer was simple, I just had to use the tech21 IMPACTOLOGY iPhone 5 Impact Shell and figured... why didn't they think of that?

It fits snuggly on the phone and got that problem area I mentioned covered. It also opened up the base so I can pretty much fit any of my cables and earphones on it. Now that's great news right?

Now I think that's good proof of this "science of protection" that's indicated on the box. That gives me good reason to keep this one for a long time. I'm sure it'll keep my phone protected and still give me the freedom to use its features as it was intended to be used.

This accessory is available in Astrovision, Beyond the Box, Cell Shoppe, Complink stores, DigiHub Cebu, Digital Arena,  Digital Hub, Digital Walker, E-Central, Games and Gadgets, Globotel, Graphic All In*, iCenter, iCon, iGig Islands and More (NAIA T3), iStore, iStudio, Microstation, Mobile 1, R.O.X., Senco Link, Switch, Technoholics, The Inbox Store and Vertex so if you are in the look for things like this, you know where to go!

The MOMAX 4400 mAh iPower Juice!

I've been having problems about the battery life of my iPhone5 and admittedly it's one of the things that bother me as it only lasts around a little or more than half a day. That's if you only have 3G turned on if you need it. This doesn't include the time you switch on your LTE because that's going to cut your battery life in half. This is my real experience and I've been so dependent on battery packs which would only give me a few minutes more for emergency; but lately it's just giving me just a few percent more (which is really not enough). It's so sad that I have become accustomed to carry around my charger all the time and plug it in whenever/wherever I can. I know fellow iPhone5 users feel my pain because I'm pretty sure they do that too.

Lo and behold I've got MOMAX iPOWER JUICE in my hand; and it looks like it's a very timely arrival as my old one feels like its going kaput. Remember, my older one can't even fill up 100% of my iPhone5's battery and this one's looking good. The 4400mAh is good news for me as it can supply power to my other gadgets such as the iPad II (on fast charging mode) and Blackberry Curve too. The 1.5A output makes it flexible to charge other devices which is something anyone would appreciate. After all, who doesn't have more than one gadget these days.

The nifty see through box contains 3 things. The USB cable, the 100% Fresh MOMAX iPOWER Juice and a small instructional book in different languages.

It also fits right in the palm of your hand. I've been using this while I'm out on shoots and it stays on my bag until my iPhone5 battery runs out. This can charge it full in a day and a couple percent more later on. It also is available in three colors. I saw Orange, Lime Green (this one) and Yellow. So they pretty much match Orange Juice, Lime Juice and Mango Juice... people mistake it for real tetra pack juice but no place to stick the straw on LOL.

You can use the ordinary USB port on your computers to charge it up. In my case I use the same USB plug that came with my lightning cable charger. The ports are simple as it indicates which one is for the INPUT and the one for the output indicates the actual ampere rating that the 100% Fresh MOMAX iPOWER Juice has (1.5A).

If you check the actual battery, it's so easy to see how long it will last with its intelligent blinkers. It goes down and blinks according to its capacity which I haven't seen in other external batteries. Believe me, I've had a lot.

For what its worth, this is definitely a good buy. In the Philippines, it's available in 8Telcom, Astrovision (Glorietta), Bratpack, CellShoppe, Digital Arena, Digital Hub, Digital Walker, District 32, Electrocomputer Data System, E-Central, EDS, Games and Gadgets, Globotel, GUI, iBook, iCenter, iGig, iStore, iStudio, Microstation, Mobile 1, Planet Gadget, PowerHub, R.O.X., Sidrah, Switch, TechSavvy, The Inbox Store and Vertex. So try to visit the ones near you. It's time to solve your battery issues now! =)

There were tons of people who attended the recent CONVERSE Get Loud event in Tomas Morato last weekend and it was the finals. Bands from various regions throughout the country converged in Excess Superclub - Quezon City to play for the last time and see who's going to top each other in this search for the band that would best represent the brand.

To say that it was intense was an understatement. Bands lashed out their originals to impress judges present that evening. Artist Ebe Dencel, Converse Philippines’ Sales Director Dan Mindanao, Francis “Brew” Reyes, Mark Laccay and John Hendrix did the handy work in choosing who's going to win the coveted prize.

The Grand Prize was won by the band EVEN. They garnered the highest points and social media likes right off the bat. Ebe Dancel even laments that the band was really tight and adds that it’s nice to see musicians take advantage of the technology. Ultimately using it real well with the song they entered into the competition.

They all dedicated it to their home town and the northeners saying they are so proud to have represented the region and the Philippines through CONVERSE. They've definitely made a name for themselves now and it's time to walk the talk by making sure everyone understands why "Shoes are boring" and why we should "Wear Sneakers" on a good night.

Congratulations EVEN! Make your country proud! This is a start of even BIGGER opportunities ahead of you!
