The Perfect Fit

Saturday, April 10, 2010

I am so happy I have friends getting engaged. Of course I am one of the few persons they ask about engagement and wedding rings. I guess I have established good taste in this field and I wouldn't want to brag about it but I did a pretty good job in the past. I have quite some knowledge about diamond cuts and how it looks like set on rings. I had some information through wedding sites and magazines how to choose one based on a person's personality. I have been witness to good choices in engagement rings but some of them end up with unattractive ones because they fail to ask people who know how it is. It is something personal but taste is a whole other universe to explain. Asking me would have saved them small ridicules from friends and family. The Internet too has a lot to offer. If they took a peek at RITANI for example, they would have never gotten mistakes about any of their choices. All that is offered there is fashionable and up to date. This in my case is a good place showcasing great taste in engagement/wedding bands/rings... when you need it most.

I would not want to see any of my friends suffering that same fate so I make it a point that I meddle in some way or another in their choices. Other than that, I would take time in pointing them to the right direction so that they know where to look for these things in the first place. I am so happy with our choices for them though because we got this new couple a princess cut for her engagement ring and a marquise cut for the wedding ring. It's the perfect fit!

The Simple things in Life

When all the things go wrong and I don't have any appetite to eat anything, mom whips up my favorite... LUGAW. Yes ladies and gentlemen... rice porridge. I like it without anything on it. Just plain old rice and the flavor of chicken. I don't like chicken on it too LOL. I know I'm weird because of all the food that I have reviewed on my site I always have appreciated a bowl of rice. Now it's my breakfast. I can always heat it up for lunch and dinner too. If there was something I would like to have with it, maybe the default garlic and spring onions would be okay. I don't like any ginger bits showing up on my bowl and I probably throw it out in the beginning of the meal. I am a little OC when it comes to that.

Aside from that, I get to watch my favorite Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and Goofy cartoon. Which makes me wonder, what is Goofy's last name?! Hehehe... Goof I think right?! I know how corny I am but these are the small things I appreciate. You have some of your own too right?! Care to tell me what small things you appreciate in this world??!

This should be interesting. =)

Internet at This Part of the Globe

Friday, April 09, 2010

It's so hard to work in my shoes because I literally have to be on line 24/7. With my bosses outside the country I need some way to always stay connected with them as I do my everyday thing even at home. I often go to our house in the south which is around 4 to 5 hours drive south of Manila. It is kind of primitive there and some people never even heard of computers; let alone Internet connection. The local telecommunications provider cannot just put up a couple of thousand posts to get their line into your homes just to get you on line. If there were companies like wild blue satellite that would be able to get us connected in remote areas then it would be just perfect. The mountains and thick forest areas that surround our house are not really a good place to start with measly cell phone signals. Some people tried to convince us using 3G but I have been an expert in WIFI and networking devices since 1993 so you get the idea I was probably the last person who would not be falling for anything like that. I also know from my data communication classes in college about satellites and how they perform in far flung places. The mighty men and women of the US military depend on this technology too so who am I to argue right?!

I know how to configure ROUTERS and MODEMS. I know how they work great with satellite connections and these have been the practice in the United States too. Imagine having the convenience of wireless connections in your own home. Upload and download speed must not be sacrificed just because you are in a remote location. There are ways how people can benefit now from satellite Internet connection and they should grab the opportunity now. I don't want to live in the countryside and suffer getting way behind in news. I don't want my work to pile up when I can finish some of it at home while I take a break from the stress in the office. Am I right?!

Boss is in Town! =)

Thursday, April 08, 2010

My boss! =) Stolen shot sorry! =) Heheh..

Yeap my boss is in town hence the very busy schedule and unblogging for a few days. Anyway I'm back and I got some shots off my bb and was so happy with my work. I guess we did good in the reports we prepared for boss. He got me these for lunch!

Baked ZITI! Yum O!

Watermelon Shake! Just right for a hot day! =)

It was a scrumptious meal in Italianni's and I was so liking the baked ziti since it was hot and I was dead hungry! The beef and pasta filled me up in no time. I even like the crusty bread that came with it. All in all, the day was a success. My other boss also sent me something. I'll tell you about it soon because it will probably change the way you are experiencing my blog. =) Are you excited? me too!!! Hahahhaa!

Let's just say you'll be seeing something unexpected and I'm planning to venture out on this more before the month ends. Let's say I'll announce the winner of my blog contest HERE through that. Don't worry or don't freak out too much ok?! Alright! =)

To my boss who just visited and the other one from you know where THANK YOU! =)

Blackberry Tweets?! Use UBERTWITTER!

Wednesday, April 07, 2010

I love how it looks like on my blackberry curve and how it functions when I need it. It is on it's 7th beta release and it works like a charm. When I receive updates from TWITTER it refreshes on the time indicated on the installation. I love how you can customize the interface and how you view tweets consecutively. There is also a separate line when viewing tweets when you are mentioned and a tab for direct messages too.

It was perfect because each picture that I took on my bb had a direct upload option whenever I tweet. If I follow someone it automatically adds them on my directory making it easy to mention someone's alias anytime anywhere. I love ubertwitter and if you have friends who just bought one please recommend to them this free application. I'm sure they will love it too!

The APPLE IPAD Released!

The Apple IPAD just got released a few days ago and boy was there a long line in the US. I never had a gadget from Apple before but I am gunning for this one now. I need to show my photos off to clients and this would be really a great thing to have when the time comes that I already have a number of clients. Some apple accessories are probably going to be available for this gadget and I will get them also to complete my IPAD experience. Steve Jobs is probably also doing the same thing Microsoft is doing in the last few years, slowly releasing new technologies and keeping the profit. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes number one in the FORBES list soon.

Thousands have lined up and in the Philippines there are no specific release dates yet. However upon checking their web site and region... they will all be shipped this March and probably released late April. Well it is already April and I haven't found a single Apple Store in the metro that carries this IPAD. I wonder why?!

Anyway I have to be optimistic. That price of 899 US dollars is not a joke too. The 499 US dollars worth doesn't have 3G capability. I need the one with portable WIFI on it since I need it for on line transactions too. I hope this changes a lot of things in the years to come. I wonder also how that Apple processor performs on this device. I hope it does not end on product recall soon! That would be funny if they get to be in a TOYOTA experience! Ha-ha!
