Blooming at 18: Princess Aliyah

The gorgeous singer and actress Princess Aliyah is turning 18 very soon, and we've got a few things confirmed (so far) as she plans to celebrate her princess-strong woman themed birthday party. This press conference was done at the SEDA Hotel Vertis North in Quezon City. 

Princess says "This is a blessing, actually I just did plans for my debut last month. So now I am doing my gown, styling, and I'll get my PBB housemates on my birthday. They also told me a lot about a single they made for me which is AMBA, and I am so glad how it sounded, very pop princess and youthful. Initially I didn't want to celebrate my birthday but I actually have a lot of friends and extended family now which is why we went through with this. Since PBB I looked up to my Mom and since I'm turning 18, they will be a huge part of it. I love how it sounds too. Maybe people know how much of a baby I am, but I'm very strong and independent, but not to mar my sweet looks, I think I still want them to see that. I want my roles to be versatile, do contrabida roles, action, hopefully I could do that since I'm 18. I also want to do trekking on my own, I also want to have decisions, more responsibilities, and hope to just have good health for my family, that's all I want. I want the people who I've worked with to be there. Right now I am still finalizing things, I hope they could all come."

The single AMBA is written by Roel Rostata. It is arranged and produced by artist THYRO, produced by GMV Studios (as one of their artists).

Princess is a woman now, and she wants to do pageants if the opportunity comes, she loves Catriona and Pia, but it's not on her mind right now (yet). She likens herself with Rapunzel and see that she could do more getting to know herself even more while outside her walls. She promised herself to concentrate on her career and want a partner that would support that.

Mika Gorospe's Thanksgiving and Birthday Concert

To be a light for others, this is what GMA's latest campaign is for the holidays. This is why they call it "Love Shines!". They've been doing this a lot in the past few years, mostly not covered by media but today, we got to tag along in a benefit Birthday concert by Mika Gorospe, a very lovely singer from GMA's The Clash and now a full-time artist for the Kapuso network. She chose to do it in SOS Children's Village which is a home for abandoned, abused and neglected children in the country. They have been in the country for 57 years now, and coincidentally celebrating their 70th founding anniversary worldwide. This is an organization, not an orphanage so it is a different system. I might go back on other days because it would be a joy to do volunteer work for the kids and their family.

She's a very spirited singer, and in tow she got her friends girlgroup XOXO to also perform a few songs. 

They also began wishing her well as she was always a ball of sunshine during the Clash competition where some of them were also competing against her, but now they're all good friends. Mika shared how important it was to keep friendships because they can help you along the way. 

Another Clasher and GMA Music artist is gorgeous Kyryll Ugdiman. She also sang a few songs with Mika. Ky says "I am grateful you are part of my life, we have ups and downs but we have overcome them all. I am happy to see you again!"

Some of the kids went up on stage and gave Mika her 18 roses, this is after all part of her debut.

Anthony Rosaldo and Jong Madaliday also serenaded her after a few minutes. They're good friends too. The kids sang along with them which was quite touching to see.

Dave Bornea whisked in and provided the kilig the audience wanted. Are they a pair?  I wonder, but she called her baby girl lol.

Ohhh maybe Nikki Co... That song and dance was too close not to notice.

Mika is alone here in the PH as her family is all abroad, she's really trying to work hard for her dreams and they wished her well. 

They sang a happy birthday song in the end and it felt so good to see her so happy to have done this with kids and the whole artist center fam. Mika also spent hours at the SOS Children's Village and if you want to do the same or donate stuff, spend time with the families here because it is a really rewarding experience to do. You should do it, go contact them on their social channels if you want to schedule a visit and become their aunt's or uncles for a day... Or make it a regular thing. There are so many ways to help and they are so organized there.

Julia Barretto on her 18th Birthday: Just Julia

These are the times when you feel you're blessed, that no matter where your fate takes you, you just need to become humble and say "Thank you!".

Debuts in the Philippines mark the coming of an age, where a teen grabs life from the end of its trail and declare she's now a lady. She went the long way from fixing her realtionships, to working hard and now, she's celebrating it with friends, family, the people she loves no matter what consangnuity.

Also, she said her goal this year is to keep the people in her life in good terms and she hopes her birthday could spark talks with her Titas, her Mom and Dad. She also divulges that her first dance would be Dennis Padilla and her last would be teen hearthrob Iñigo Pascual.

Just Julia will happen this March 10, 2015 and will be shown on public TV this March 28th in the evening. We hope Julia gets her personal wish and perhaps make the stars align for her.
