Have You Seen Changes in GRAB Lately?

Every Filipino riding Grab must be feeling a little lucky lately. With the company offering true wallet friendly features, smart ones get the GrabCar Saver, GrabFood Saver Delivery, and for the hungry ones, GrabFood Saver Meals. They also have subscription plans such as GrabUnlimited and Grab Ride Saver which I often use going to events and places here in the metro.  

GrabCar Saver

GrabCar Saver has been implemented recently. In it, you get 15 percent cheaper rates in booking a standard Grab Car. For now, it is being done Metro Manila and in Pampanga (Central Luzon). Pretty soon, it'll be done in all Grab areas, though you'll have to note, you will have to wait a little while longer. You can also use GrabShare and use it to be with another passenger. This is useful for those who are not really in a hurry and you'll get even cheaper rates with it. You can get 30 percent savings from it, which is quite nice for those who are watching their transportation spending these days.

GrabFood Saver

It's been offered for quite some time now in the Grab Superapp. If you're fond of ordering from restuarants and establishments, this gives you the option of enjoying your food and have it delivered with the Saver option. Fees will certainly be less than usual, I do this when I have lots of time in between meals and I even do it when I have guests coming a little late than usual. I just order ahead of time so it could reach my location perfectly. These are great prices especially if you love gatherings. Imagine only 15 pesos? That's a steal.

With the rates already low, get the GrabUnlimited for major discounts on GrabFood, GrabMart and GrabCar. You can opt to get the annual plan instead since it'll cost you even lower. I have the Grab Ride Saver though as it slashes 10 percent for 60 rides, I use it all and pay only 99 pesos for it. Quite nice if you ride Grab Cars regularly. Grab certainly is changing the way we ride each day, for that, I'm quite thankful for the perks I get when I avail them. They're really good at it.

What You Need to Know About GrabPet

If you've been seeing the announcements recently, it's good news for you and your fur babies as the GRAB Superapp now offers a service called GrabPet. It's a new, safe and convenient way to make sure you get to travel with your pet, whether furry or scaly, and bring them from point A to point B.

If it's that time of the month where you have to bring your pets to the veterinary clinic, your favorite groomer, pet cafe's or a play date with another pet, you can now do it with one press of a button if you are covered. They did this in the past and this is some sort of a re-introduction, so for the time being, it's going to be only available in select areas in Metro Manila. Much of the GrabPet fleet are 6 seaters to make sure you've got ample amount of space when you need to travel with the kids with 2 or 4 feet.

You need to remember a few things though to avail one. A ride can only be done with human passengers, you can't leave your pets alone with the driver. As a pet owner, you need to also make sure your furry kids are clean and not infested with parasites/fleas. You can only bring 2 small/medium sized pets or 1 large pet every booking. They also are required to be in diapers and inside carriers to make sure they don't soil the cars while on transport.

Grab drivers in this particular service have been trained for it and yes, your pets are also insured if they are in the car. For starters, it is available in Makati, BGC, Shaw, Ortigas, Pasay Mall of Asia, NAIA, Malate and San Juan (more areas soon!). You may check the fine print here.

GRAB Out to Make You Feel "ALL OUT SUMMER" Nationwide!

To say that it was really well received is going to be an understatement because people over at Market!Market definitely had a LOT of fun as Superapp GRAB had us experience what "ALL OUT SUMMER" was at the mall grounds in BGC.

This is the launch of GRAB's efforts to make enjoyable hangout spots in different locations so passengers, riders, Grab app users to enjoy games, free stuff, a place to take their photos, even your favorite restaurants building pop-ups in the same location. This will happen Fridays through Sundays til May 14th (this is for the Market!Market! BGC Taguig location). There will also be several booths that will be built in places like SM Iloilo, SM CDO Downtown, SM Lanang Davao, with more restaurant partners joining in the fun!

Just with the launch alone, they invited dance phenom AC Bonifacio who just is so extraordinary on the dance floor. They also had MNL 48 who had us hooked with their catchy songs and super cute dance numbers. Even the viral good looking Grab drivers who usually dance on TikTok was already there giving their all, it was so much fun!

Some influencers, and TikTok superstars also were there and got busy with photo ops with us and their fans. They were very nice imho, and were so cordial in talking to us and other media personalities.

Thank you so much to GRAB for letting us tag along, it's  always cool to see what they're doing with their customers, their driver partners and the viewing public! I wish I could be there in other parts of the country, It'll be equally fun to see how they'd react to the prizes, performers, that's going to be there when they open doors. New Ride Hailing App HYPE to Launch Soon!

The Philippines is about to get better TNVS services as new player HYPE enters the market. Hype Transport brings an option, they know consumers need a choice and they are bringing this all Filipino app in the forefront of TNVS. As of now, they are allowed to register about 65,000 units on their system. They prefer loyal drivers but are totally open for existing members of other TNVS apps as long as they are not blacklisted by other corps or LTFRB. Registration starts online and walkins are being entertained in their small office in Makati but they're planning to put one up in Mandaluyong pretty soon.

John Coduris Chief Tech Officer of Hype "We prepared this since October, all the papers and requirements were worked on since that date. We have more capable programmers, we have pooling and vehicle choices, the commision is competitive which means from 20% to 5% and depends on the trips that the driver takes. Website is at hypetransport.com and you can find us at hype pilipinas on all social media channels." 

COO Jennifer Silan of Hype says "We will be very strict with the process of accreditation, training the drivers, we look at the physical condition of the cars, log on on hypetransport.com and become a partner. We will schedule trainings and it will be available online. We have registered up to 5,000 cars already, we follow the mandate of LTFRB in choosing cars. We accredit nationwide but will only launch Manila, other cities will follow. No multiple drops yet but it is in the works. During the launche we will provide promo codes and will do the grand launch on the 27th. On May 26, we will be sponsoring a segment on Eat Bulaga, please wait for that."

Nick Escalante Hype's CEO says "We hope we will be part of the solution, to be a partner of drivers and operators, and also the riding public. Our approved rate is competive because it's a flat rate of 40 pesos, and also low rates per kilometer. We do have surge, but only allowed 2.0. We also have a competitive commision, as accorded by the number of trips that the driver takes. You can book us using text, even without data you can book through us. It's no charge to the user at all. We have sms, voice, messaging, hopefully less than a minute communication so passengers would be safe. Hype will be strict on cancellations, block them or suspend, right now we do not have cancellation fees, perhaps 50 pesos later on but we are still looking at it. If the cancellation is done with the driver, it will pay off the customer. LTFRB has approved us, May 19 is the exact date where everybody can download it on Google Play and the App Store, but would be able to use it on the 28th."

Now isn't this good news? Go download the app or register as their partner driver on the dates mentioned. The event on the 27th is open to the public and they will be revealing their celebrity endorser, give away raffle prizes on that day. Make sure you're there okay?

Grab Turns 5: Honors Employees, Partners and Riders

I'm sure you've suffered in the past with very abusive and unscrupulous taxi drivers and we all have our stories to tell. The era of TNVS (Transport Network Vehicle Services) arrived about 5 years ago and has completely changed the culture of ride sharing and the comfort it brings. GRAB has been in the country for 5 years and today they're not only celebrating it in a grand way, they are also recognizing exemplary drivers, riders and employees through an awards ceremony they dubbed GRAB Green Light Awards 2017.This is a fitting tribute to the men and women who have worked behind the wheel, on the passenger seat and even the offices of GRAB to make it what it is today.

Duing the festivities, there were also 5 GRAB Employees recognized for their undeniable passion for the brand. They also awarded 15 drivers and 5 riders for being true partners for their success, each telling their own stories on how they have been remarkably been helped by the company. Brian Cu, Country Head of GRAB says "Thank you for a phenomenal 5 years of being with GRAB. With sheer hard work and dedication to GRAB's 5 years of existence in the country, we wouldn't be able to acheive our goals and evolve as the company in this industry.We have served thousands of passengers and will continue to do so all throughout the years. Grab is taking more opportunities in innovating transportation as we improve the quality of life of our partners, our riders, employees and the community."

They also have surprised hundreds of passengers during this month with specially packaged GRABCARS that gave away vouchers as they got booked GrabCar, GrabShare and their roster of services. Lorelai Olaia, GRAB's PR says "Tonight we will give proper recognition to people who have made this TNC a good one. Thank you for a wonderful 5 years!"

GRAB Launches GRABSHARE

So... the rumors are true. It looks like the popular ride app GRAB is taking on the challenge of pooling with their new service called GRABSHARE.

I opened my app this morning and saw the service being introduced to the public. GRAB wants you to save a little money in daily commute and promises up to 30% less the cost of the original GRABCAR. This means that you can share your ride with someone heading the same direction of your trip, which means the driver saves gas transporting more people. Isn't that a good thing?

You're saving the environment, saving money and making Manila a whole lot cleaner because of lesser carbon emissions. The driver lets you off in your destination safe, reliable and convenient.

Brian Cu the GRAB Country Head says "We are the largest in Southeast Asia and this project, this little dream is what we know as GRAB today. 630,000 partners and millions of passengers use our app to make travelling more comfortable, safe and quality. Manila, Cebu, Bacolod, Davao and other cities are already enjoying GRAB and we are a part of the solution for commute. This means it's cheaper, but still comfortable as you are in every GRABCAR." The good thing is GRAB does pickup only one more ride share person so you won't have to worry if you're in a hurry.
