HALLOWEEN FUN at ARANETA CITY

Tuesday, October 25, 2022

For those of you who don't have plans yet for kids this Halloween, you might want to visit Araneta City on October 30 at 2pm.

The different malls in this place will be having different activities for families including costume contests, a full blown Circus Parade, Trick or Treat in different shops, a Magic Show, fun and surprises too. You must also wear your spookiest costume to win prizes and dining rewards that will be given to lucky patrons, so go check out Araneta City's social channels and the individual mall pages to see what they have in store for you!

See you at Araneta City's event! I'll be there!

Photos: Bigfish: Cream Halloween Ball 2012!

Monday, November 05, 2012

Halloween was a blast! Sure enough, we won't be left behind because I had so much fun too during the CREAM Halloween Ball 2012 at the World Trade Center! The place was packed! And we were there to take a couple of shots of some interesting individuals in their costumes! The theme was "under the sea" but a lot of them just showed up in whatever they had in mind. Quite an awesome crowd!

There was this cute huge Octopus on top of the DJ's booth! Too bad we didn't get to take part in the press con earlier that evening! Trance and House music... I love it!

The lights they used was world class! That's why I love events by BIGFISH! They know how to party!

I saw him outside before he came up on stage. This is DJ John Paul Lee! He was so awesome spinning some Pop ones into Trance electronica tracks. The crowd went wild!

With Princess Sarah and Wonderwoman hehe

Dressed in full battle gear these guys were like black ops! =)

Superheroes like Iron Man, Captain America can be seen here with one of the usher mermaids that evening!
Pretty noh?

All kinds of Princesses in all shapes and sizes were there too. They must have been looking for a Prince like me =)

I was waiting outside for a smoke then she just came in. I like her. Can someone tell me who she is? =) But I think she came in with her boyfriend haha!

One of the most impressive costumes I've seen that evening is Mystique. By the way, he's a guy. So just imagine how much work he's done to achieve this look. I heard him ask people not to touch him inside the venue because it would get the things he put on himself removed. He had a couple of thumbmarks on his back hehe. And of course in places where he's perspiring!

Lara Croft and Race Car pit crew member anyone? Hehe they're pretty no? =)

This was awesome, he was with a group of Mummies but he was the only one who I was able to ask for a photo. He had bandages all over and they had special pads on their feet so they can walk =)

Pretty too. She was following the theme. Here's Ursula! =)

Then when we were about to leave some boys were outside too

Which made me remember to download some of DJ Deadmau5's tracks =)

Oh and before I forget, Pamela Anderson Lee was also there!

Surely the winner! =) Thanks Jason!

See what you missed? It pays to go to CREAM HALLOWEEN BALL 2012! I just can't wait for more of BIGFISH MANILA'S Gigs this coming year!

Awesome, just awesome!

Funky Halloween Bowl at SM Bowling Center!

Monday, October 25, 2010

Bowling is one of the most pleasurable things I do in my spare time. I remember playing a couple of games a few years ago in Makati, Greenhills and Cubao that got me to a couple of pedestals when I least expected it. It was the perfect alternative for a sickly kid who couldn't play too much basketball outside because of asthma and the conducive environment of an air conditioned room was but a paradise. I didn't know I was in for more just this weekend!

I met with bloggers last Saturday at Mall of Asia. To tell you honestly I haven't played bowling for the longest time because of time constraints and work related matters but this was a gathering of sorts so I didn't hesitate going. Without any practice, I got there and met with the wonderful people of SM Bowling Center. It's a little small than the usual bowling lanes I frequent in Makati but this was a little adventurous since they carried a cosmic bowling theme right from the get go. I love lanes like this because it's different and it's what most of my friends enjoy even if it is a little dark. It adds more spunk to say the least and I was in for a great time as I spend my evening with new people from the blogging industry. SM Bowling Center Mall of Asia was such a gracious host... I never thought I could play bowling the same way again. Have you ever heard of FUNKY BOWLING?!

Just like you I was dumbfounded what other things they were doing to the sport. I was being all competitive in my head when all along I was supposed to play this great game with a different set of rules. It was totally different from the conventional game we had in our mind. We got to look at the different stances we had to make just to throw the ball. It was both entertaining and challenging. Some of the moves were really difficult but I guess that comes with the game. I was thrilled to be part of the teams that gamely did everything on the list. Imagine sitting down, throwing between legs, shoving with your feet, doing a moonwalk before you throw the ball. It was really really nice to see ourselves do something unconventional let alone obnoxious to the entertainment of everyone there!

We were served great food from Sunset Boulevard! Grab a bite there while playing!

You thought this is over? Of course not! This Halloween at SM Bowling Center (Oct 30 - SM Fairview & SM MOA; Oct 31 - SM North EDSA) Go Trick or Treatin while playing the FUNKY HALLOWEEN BOWL! They also have billiards, Wii, Rockband and photobooths for everyone's enjoyment! Don't forget to wear your SCARY/CUTE/GREAT/FUNKY costumes! See you there!

Thank you so much to SM and the marketing staff and officials of SM Bowling Center! We had so much fun! I'm sure our friends and families will enjoy the same! Let's get the STRIIIKE!!!!!!

Halloween Preparations!

Saturday, September 11, 2010

It's that time of the year again where we prepare to celebrate one of the greatest occasions where we can dress up. I still have my Star Wars costume with me plus the sword that comes with that. I want to get the best dressed award and the prize too. There are several parties to go to in the metro for that and with my friends tagging along, those last few days in October is surely going to be a hit! I seldom dress up and I don't want to be a kill joy so this year I am going to complete that wardrobe and get my self Halloween Contact Lenses . This is the time to make something wild. It would be something definitely out of the ordinary. I know my friends will join too but they don't have experience wearing contacts. I might need to teach them a thing or two.

It actually completes the look. It is much like those in Edward and Bella's vampire movie. I probably won't look like a real vampire without it. Some would probably wear that red eyes that the VOLTURI has but maybe it will just temporarily blur them when it's almost pitch dark in the clubs I go to ha-ha! The greatest dressed then could be me but then again I haven't seen the rest of the guys if they are preparing for it too. Who's up for an early Halloween celebration?!

Party Preparations Start Now!

Tuesday, July 13, 2010

I know how to throw parties and as a matter of fact I have hosted a lot of them over the year. The pain of preparing for something out of the ordinary is the one that makes or breaks it. If there are some instances of craziness you can always say it is excusable. I love the part where we often dress up in costumes. I throw that twice a year either on Halloween or another holiday I can think of. Everyone complies too and it would not be such a phenomenon to see someone in Scooby Doo Costumes or Shaggy for that matter. I also put in some mystery games when I do it in large houses. It makes the event extra special!

I would not stop my friends from coming over, get drunk or dress up whatever they want just as long as they have fun. I don't let the drivers drink of course! Believe me I have actually hooked up a lot of friends in parties that I host and I'm not in the mood to stop now. I have one next month and preparations start as early as now. Do you know how I can integrate Toga's in the next one? I need a lot of white sheets too so its going to cost me a lot. If I am lucky I can get my former classmates to join in too. It has been twenty years since we met so if that isn't reason enough to get this party started; I just don't know what else is! It is also going to be extra special because of the costumes! Let's get this party started!

Halloween Costumes Early On!

Monday, January 19, 2009

We start waxing philosophical on how elusive happiness seems to be for most, while it comes so naturally to others. Sometimes we make mistakes; thinking that our happiness depends on other people when the real happiness we were looking for only begins with ourselves.

In 2007, we celebrated our company Christmas party in the outskirts of Manila. I was amused a little because our theme was Hollywood movies. Consequently, our assigned film was Star Wars. I was so excited because it was my first time to dress up like this guy here.

That's Ana kin Sky Walker of the Star Wars trilogy; and having the same picture as an inspiration was grand! I mean hey, not only did I get to play along but I had the chance to re-live my favorite character in the movie. But don't get me wrong, I was not there to win the prizes meant for the one with the "coolest costume". I just liked dressing up like kids ha-ha.

It took about a week to fix my costume which I had custom made at my Uncle's garments factory. I arrived at the event together with my compatriots in team SAT Hawks at that time. We were not as adventurous as those in a Biker costume, but everyone looked like we were in a different era; because we all were carrying the costumes so well. I was happy no one killed joy at that time and participated dressing up for the occasion. It was nice to see my office mates look weird every once in a while because we practically spent so much staying geeks fixing IT devices the whole time.

I did not win anything that night but the sheer enjoyment of having my friends an office mates around was better than any award that I'll gladly take. The next time I join things like that and I get serious about the costumes, I'll find excellent ones that are available online at http://www.costumecauldron.com. It's cost efficient and easier, so why should we stop celebrating Halloween right?
