Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo Trusts KYOWA

Today was a really good day as everybody's favorite super mom and chef Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo becomes the newest endorser for home brand Kyowa. She's really the top endorser and she doesn't just do that for any product. Mind you, she's used them for quite a while and attests how the quality of these home appliances certainly made life easy. They signed her up with the presence of Nathanael Ong the President of KBMC, Eugene Go the COO, and Ms. Mary Jane Buencamimo the President of Mylaunchpad Inc. There were also several loyal Kyowa consumers and Judy Ann Santos' lovely fans to witness the event.

Comfort, Trust and Simple Joys, it is something that Kyowa exuded in the years it has been in the country. This is the same reason why it has been trusted by Judy Ann and the countless families that enjoy it.

Juday told us stories and said "When I learned to cook, I learned to explore. I put other spices in my soups, use cheese, make a different chowder, it's a canvass. It makes sense to allow other ingredients because it makes you appreciate cooking so much compared to what I've been doing in the past after work. I still cook after a long day, I put my thoughts in what I cook and prove that I can do something else other than being an actress. It's comfort food, Angrydobo dishes actually came from my heart."

She added "When I make something out of what I just imagined, I feel happy. Even on chef's nights, I can work with both my hands. You get challenged to deliver, when it's service time, you put out your best work. Some brands just do technology but don't think about the basics, of what people need to do and achieve in the kitchen. Everybody loves a good recipe, if you want a good one just portion it, put it in the freezer and have your family member take it out, use the Kyowa Air Fryer and make it crispy. You can also cook tortang talong, bake in it, things that you can quickly cook and also wash it easy afterwards. I've tried and tested that! Juday enrolled in culinary school because she wanted to learn, prove to her daughter that she can finish something. She decided a long time ago not to pursue college, but did it to have tools other than acting. She also plans to produce shows and films, she also wants to do make up, but wanted to do cooking as a fall back. She realized acting wasn't a permanent job, and Ryan told her she should because she loved cooking. I guess Kyowa can now be her partner in the kitchen because their products really make sense.

Fear Something New With This Judy Ann Santos, Lorna Tolentino and Chanda Romero Starrer ESPANTAHO

When we heard Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo was participating in this year's Metro Manila Film Festival, we were really excited about particular film she's doing; they call it "ESPANTAHO". The term actually means a "scarecrow", a thing that's pretty common in farmlands, especially in agricultural countries like ours.

It's been a while since she's done something like this, but it was promised to her by Director Chito Roño who called her for the project. Judy Ann says "It's been a while since I've worked with Direk Chito Roño. Before I was a young lady, but now I already have a daughter. I'm happy because when he called me for a horror film, I didn't say anything, just "let's do it!". This is a dream, I wanted to experience it, he's calmer now, but still has a mic when he does sarcastic lines. I'm not the one he's getting mad at these days, but when you do it with him, it is fulfilling!"

This film was prepped for a year before they got to make the script. When the writer Christ Martinez presented it, he got "good" feedback from Direk Chito, and things started rolling from that. Atty Joji remarks how this has been a collaborative experience for them, and since Direk Chito is a master Director, they wanted to make a great film with them during their 20th Anniversary. The only issues they encountered were mostly because of the weather, but they adjusted with the season to fit the story. 

JC Santos likened Direk Chito to his former theater mentors, because once he asks for one more shot, it means you would need to do better on the scene. If he says "next scene", that means you're good. Most of them nodded in agreement, and Direk Chito felt he was getting roasted during the press conference (they had a laugh about it).

They let us in on a secret, that painting on the left side of the stage will play a significant part in the film so if you see this in any theaters they'll be showing ESPANTAHO, go take a photo with it!

Ms. Lorna Tolentino took time to talk about love, family and a few more things about the movie after the press conference, listen in to the conversation:

In a nutshell, you would need to watch this film because of the caliber of actors that are in it. Not to mention how big of a horror director Chito Roño is, and how he's come to embrace new technology, special effects, and face a new crowd of movie goers eager to see something new, as you introduce a brand new entity to fear because they don't know what lurks behind that painting that you base the story on.

Hope this forms a cult following, perhaps a sequel too! The film will show on December 25 together with other MMFF 2024 entries, but consider watching this first especially if you're a Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo fan. This is produced by Cineko Productions, Purple Bunny Productions and Quantum Films. They promise that this will be the scariest film you're about to see on MMFF 2024.

JUDY ANN SANTOS-AGONCILLO is BACK with The Diary of Mrs. Winters

We are extremely excited (as you are) hearing that the Queen of Primetime Drama Ms. Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo is now in the process of filming an acting piece called "The Diary of Mrs. Winters" where she plays a "forensic cleaner" and OFW in Toronto, Canada. In the film she will be playing opposite good looking guy Sam Milby, who will be with her in the maple leaf laden state come last week of February to start filming. 

Judy Ann tells the media how she's been in the fence of doing this because she basically didn't want to be away from her family, something that also has stopped her from doing films and projects in the past. She's a mother and a wife above anything else, but got to talk to Ryan about it later on because she had a feeling she wants to do this because it's a Ricky Lee piece and will be directed by Rahyan Carlos (who does acting workshops for Star Magic and is certified to do the Chubbuck technique). This is a horror movie, and right up the director's alley, and he got to do the workshop with Judy Ann and Sam so he would be able to know more about each other before filming starts. Direk Rahyan is also part of Happy Karga Films and partner AMP Studios (Canada) which will be producing the movie.

 

Cast includes Issa Litton, Guji Lorenzana, Robbie Walche and FDCP Chair Liza Diño-Seguerra who will be marketing the film in the international film festivals

The cast and producers talked lengthily about this film being showcased in certain film festivals which they plan to do before having a theatrical release in the third or fourth quarter of this year. They say it's actually easier to have this released internationally because it's not comedy which would have more local context. So surely, there will be a chance for this project to get Judy Ann, Sam and the ensemble cast to win international awards which Liza Diño-Seguerra will be working on in the next few months. The computer graphics will also be done by Direk Rahyan Carlos' team which is the cream of the crop in the PH film scene, all of whom have worked in his past projects so you're sure this will be done right.

There will also be a couple of actors from Canada who will be joining the cast, and they've already scouted a few locations before filming. There will be a few of them already flying there in a week's time to make sure once Judy Ann, Sam and the cast lands, they start grinding.

Judy Ann Shines, Angelica Sparks in Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes

I've seen the film industry improve over the years and one glorious evidence of that is the film Ang Dalawang Mrs. Reyes (The Two Mrs. Reyes) which is produced by Star Cinema, Quantum Films and made by the Idea First Company under Perci Intalan and Directed by Jun Lana. I've honestly been bored of Filipino films lately that I haven't seen some of them in the recent MMFF, but this piece wasn't going to pass me since Judy Ann is doing it. Yes she's got hits and misses but I guess this material was just promising. It's got all the angles in it, romance, love, infidelity, s3x, foreplay, even food and the whole enchilada of LGBTQWTFOMGBBQ causes you can think of.

Judy Ann being the Queen has never lost her touch. She cries like a river, and can definitely touch you in so many ways that you'll find yourself crying in the dark corners of the cinema. Yes I admit that might have been me, not once, but twice because her monologues was just the highlight of the film, one that you should pay attention to when her character starts posting a Facebook status towards the end of the film. You would fall for her, feel her pain, her agony, her angst and you would feel good while she's letting it all out on social media, just like what your friends do on their timeline too.

Angelica Panganiban on the other hand had her own battles. Like a woman scorned, she wanted revenge, but later finds herself learning, enjoying, moving on from the whole ordeal. She also presents the punchlines so well you'll hear the gallery laugh quite hard during the whole movie. She's going to get mad and bonded with cats, travel the world to seek revenge, then perhaps fall in love with a stranger found in the most unconventional places. She's also going to cancel all holidays for you, that particular line will stick to you like glue so pay attention when she does her outbursts... oh she's got a ton of that. 

I haven't had so much fun in movies lately, this particular one made me cry twice, had me laugh and made me feel good about Filipino movies again. This film also stars JC De Vera and Joross Gamboa, you'll love how their pair would intertwine their story in different situations. As Direk Perci said "This is our opening day and I hope you see this film, if you like it please spread the word. I really hope you like the movie because as of now we are hearing it’s doing good in the box office. If you are posting anything on social media please use #AngDalawangMrsReyes so we can see it!”

Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos Reunites at "Money for Life"Campaignfor Sun Life

For those who love Judy Ann Santos - Agoncillo and Piolo Pascual's original loveteam, there's more reason to rejoice now. Even though they have their own lives now, one brand seems to have wanted them to be seen together. Together with Ms. Charo Santos, Matteo Guidicelli and Iñigo Pascual, Piolo and Judy Ann is spearheading the "Money For Life" Campaign for our friends from Sun Life.

Juday mentions "I am moving up because I already have 3 kids. No joke, but I was already a Sun Life client since Mara Clara days and I listened to a lot of people while I was younger. I wanted my family to be secure, even when I did consider to live in Canada so when I get back, I would have something to go back for. A lot of my financial decisions have changed because I suddenly have to be selfless with my kids, but not forgetting to be still happy so when my kids grow up, I won't worry about them because I balanced everything. I guess in every parent, you want to have your kids to be able to support themselves and know their needs up to a certain extent. You have to explain why they have to save money, make them experience the joy of saving and having their own bank account. They need to do that because it's a very adult feeling but at least they know the value of money. I am happy to let people know that agents can tell you how to get you started, prepare yourself and make sure when you get old, you let your money work for you and choose the right insurance company to be with. They're very good to talk to and Sun Life can work around with any amount so you can plan ahead regardless what your age is. The agents will explain to you these all clearly, you'll be fearless and have confidence that life will be comfortable. We're not putting our eggs in one basket, at least one fourth of our money is invested here and we top up when we can afford it. It really works for me because it's safe."

"Working together for a cause was enough reason to be with Piolo and this isn't a film, so why not!? We have an omnibus, in time, given a project and story we'll do that beacause we just didn't have a project yet. If it will happen, it will happen! During Mara Clara days I felt that I neede to save because I can work for it. I was a fraid to get old and not have projects that time, I was already thinking of our future but I could only do bit by bit. I always have a savings account that I don't touch and part of that is investments, I don't want hardships to happen like with other artists. I started doing financially handling everything when I was 26, it was pretty late. I didn't have apprehensions working with Piolo and it would be harder to say no because I have been doing Sun Life for a long time. Piolo and I are okay, we're not being seen but we do meet and talk ever now and then. We're casual and if there would be a time to talk about the projects we'll have that in due time. We're getting there because I am resting, in this corset, so it's a little diffficult. Basic priorities like bags and shoes are not that basic anymore, you just are happy with your kids as they are in different stages, priorities change as you spend time with them. You want them to live a good life and want them to do their studies and make goals of their own. To listen to them, little things like that, time for my husband and myself, I'm doing it with Sun Life! My best advice is to call a Sun Life Advisor today!"

"I take care of my self and I want to finish the Ironman thing very soon. In this stage where my son is already earning and is responsible, I'm taking care of myself and Sun Life is going to take care of me as they've been in the past already. I also have critical ailments coverage."

"It's very practical and I told Iñigo about how to make sure he had insurance policies to choose from when I started working. I was hesitant for him to be in showbiz because since he's already finishing high school, Sun Life made sure he's going back to college. I also did a short course and it was fun, school should be like that. I learned a lot and I didn't know a lot about my faith but you realize you need to be practical and take advantage of opportunities. Ever since I started working, I knew I needed to save and I've been taught by really great people how to do it. I get commercials before and worked and ever since I knew I had to take care of my self. I don't spend much, I'm not stingy but every chance I get I invest in real estate and policies because I knew I need to. I have 8 or 9 with Sun Life, in different forms as they cater to different needs. Even before Sun Life endorsements, I already had one and I'm always up for more.

Judy Ann and I hopefully will work soon... and we pitched something already, hopefully that will push through. We just need time. Juday and I have always been okay and we've been saying hi when we can. Even if we don't meet that much I consider her a good friend for life. 

I really have enough to retire, I want my kid to have the chance to shine also. My family have businesses and are into real estate. I would like to do a full ironman, hopefully before I turn 40. I don't know how I'll get married but hopefully soon. I don't believe in prenups but I'll cross the bridge when I get there. I'm also thinking of helping more aside from actual investments. Eat right, sleep right, make us feel young, be okay and put your heart in the right place. Iñigo isn't even asking for money since he started working, he knows how to invest and handle his money well. In a sense I can take care of myself better, I sleep more, but I'm always present in his life. I'm also doing this with Sun Life."

MMFF: Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako!

I was a little disappointed that I didn't get to see Juday and Senator Bong Revilla but who wouldn't be happy seeing Bossing himself Vic Sotto a few nights ago during the blogcon for the movie Si Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote at Si Ako at the classy Annabel's restaurant in Tomas Morato.

Without much questions about other pressing matters, I was so nervous asking some of the first ones thrown to him because yeah I do get seldom starstruck. The movie he said was going to be bigger and greater than ever because the float alone would cost them a million pesos so just imagine how much more they spent for the making of this movie.

Bossing Vic didn't have any problems with billing nor coordinating with Bong Revilla or Judy Ann Santos Agoncillo because from the very first day of negotiations it was more of like a gentleman's agreement. They didn't have any problems with the crew either because from the director alone they were confident that they'll do a great job. He's also happy that Raiza is joining them in this movie because she was so happy being with them using her very own artist's chair. They were happy to see her enjoy her time while filming and proud for her since she did a great job doing it.

Bossing Vic says this film was intended to be shown for the whole family and they were glad it was rated G by MTRCB. This is another reason to go out on theaters this Christmas. Make sure you watch it on December 25 and have tons of fun, adventure, comedy and a little drama that's got a touch of realness to it. There's also an environmental message that you'll learn about after you see this on screen. It's directed by Tony Y. My House Husband: Ikaw Na! : An Intimate Dinner with the Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo

This Christmas, we all want OUR family to be happy. You want to get a smile or two in any activity that you are doing with your loved ones because the season definitely calls for it. I think I've got an idea what would make you do this AND have a laugh or two too. Why not watch My House Husband "Ikaw na!" this MMFF season, it stars Ms. Judy Ann Santos - Agoncillo, Ryan Agoncillo, Eugene Domingo and a lot more!

I was so lucky to have had a chance to talk to these two unadulterated stars of Philippine TV and Cinema last weekend and boy was it AMAZING! My friends and I ALWAYS watch their movies and its like a mini reunion of sorts from people in college because secretly we thought Juday was part of our barkada. We still do. When she has a movie or two during MMFF, we make it a point to reserve a day just to watch her even with our busy schedules. They'd probably all die of envy now that I've got a photo of Judy Ann and Ryan :) let alone a photo with THEM too! So maybe later on I'll tell them "Nakita ko na si Mareng Juday" hahaha.

It was my first time to see Ryan Agoncillo in the flesh. His boyish looks and charm was definitely evident. He has a good demeanor. He was actually very formal while talking to us with some hits here and there. I remember the YSPEAK days when he was always dealing with idealistic people like us. I felt he was like a big brother talking tonhis siblings about his ideals in raising a family and how important it is to give time for them. He said their success was brought about by them being HONEST all the time. It was quite remarkable to see them raise kids in a lifestyle that so harsh like the showbiz indistry. They shielded them from the bad side of it. They made sure they still have time for each other and adjust if necessary sine there are times when Judy Ann/Ryan would find the other already tired from work. I wasn't surprised they were that busy since I always see them on TV. They never had issues about money because that is the last thing they would rather fight about. Judy Ann said it would never ever happen to them let alone think about it. They want to raise their kids right and free from the evils of show business.

Judy Ann was so thin. The last time i saw her was in the Del Monte Pineapple commercial launch and the Junior master chef presscon. She had a different glow on her. She wanted to stay healthy and look good for her work and for herself. She was very charming and quite confident even if she said that she was a little nervous talking to bloggers like me. She was hilarious at times and I felt right at home like she was indeed one of my barkadas that I haven't seen in a long time. These were the times that I wished she were really... pushing my luck? LOL!


Eugene Domingo was phenomenal as they said. When you see her, you know what a successful actress would be. Her understanding of the craft is remarkable and her acting is phenomenal just as all the films she did before. Ryan says he didn't know Eugene was that small because he always thought of her as LARGER THAN LIFE! We all agreed.



Just as their lives are interesting, the movie talks about relationships between husband, wife, best friends, kids and how they deal with the situation when the macho man suddenly becomes the house husband. This interesting norm that is so taboo to be talked about ordinary pinoys. How would a successful wife treat his husband? How would a husband feel now that he's not the bread winner? How jealous can the wife be when the best friend from next door suddenly becomes too close for comfort? How would the husband take care of the kids now that he's in charge of the house? These are just some of the questions that this family oriented movie wants to answer. Wouldn't it be nice to laugh and learn about it? Make sure you watch My House Husband "Ikaw na!" coming out on theaters this Christmas for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2011!
