NET 25 Gets New Shows: David Chua on "GOOD WILL"

Saturday, January 21, 2023

A new year beckons a new show over at the "Let's Get Together, Let's NET Together" Network NET 25. Aside from the new offered news, current affairs and lifestyle programs, a new sitcom called "GOOD WILL" will be premiered on January 22, 2023 at 4PM. This will be right before the much awaited Korina Sanchez-Roxas show "Korina Interviews" and will be part of the network's weekend primetime block offerings.

David by the way has already appeared on several shows in the Kapamilya, Kapuso, and Kapatid networks so he's no stranger to these shows. It's also his first foray as the lead of the show, and he's done remarkable work in Mano Po Legacy: The Family Fortune and ABS-CBN's Love Thy Woman.

David Chua will play the character of Lloyd Patawad, born with a silverspoon, this spoiled bad boy (who also had a colorful share of relationships) wants to try his best to reach his own rockstar dreams. This takes a 360 degree turn when his Mom passed, then can only get his family fortune if he gets to do a few challenges set on the will. This sends him to realize a few things (including managing the Good Will resort), and make his life a whole lot better.

Cast includes Devon Seron who plays Sarah (his love interest in the show), Smokey Manaloto,
Kat Galang, Ryan Rems, James Caraan (an ensemble of great comedians), Ms. Marina Benipayo, and a lot of other artists who will be integral in running the resort.

This is produced by ALV Productions, Viktory 8Media and Dark Carnival Productions and will be directed by Ian Lorenos who also did Mano po Legacy: The Flower Sisters. This is also written by Joma Labayen, Don Santella, Kiko Abrillo, Aica Ganhinhin and Motec Migallen. It's also collaborative so the story concept and creative production are done by the team. Expect this to be funny, romantic and hugely good vibes. Again, this will be shown before Korina Interviews, you can always stay to watch the next one on NET 25.

Make sure you put this on your must watch list!

Hell Come Home Premiere Night

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Star Cinema is putting its chips on a horror movie this Halloween season. This movie is called Hell Come Home and talks about different things like haunted places, possession, cults and family. We saw the cast, their celebrity friends who all came out and supported them during the premiere night.

What's good is that Dennis Trillo,  Alyssa Mulach, Raymond Bagatsing and Beauty Gonzales are doing this film. A good thing for people who want a different combination on screen. This is also R13, probably for violence and some scenes that are for mature audiences (some foul mouths and gory stuff in between). Although it is not the gory type, you're going to see and feel lots of of shocking moments, run and chass scenes in the movie. I guess that part is fulfilling. It is a nice story intertwined by relationships in the past, how they bring forth keeping their home away from the crazy, the haunted, and ghosts made of their own fantasies.

If you wanna watch something scary, this might fit the bill. It shows tomorrow in theaters nationwide!

Sunshine, Raymond and Enzo in MALAMAYA

Tuesday, July 16, 2019

I too was a little dumbfounded about the word MALAMAYA. I didn’t know it wast the tagalog term for the color Ash, all along I thought it was just “abo” but that’s just me lol. Anyway, we sat down with the cast and people behind the movie Malamaya earlier at Annabels Restaurant in Morato so we could get some gist about this Cinemalaya entry.

(L-R): Co-producer/Spears Films President Albert Almendralejo, Director Leilani Chavez, Raymond Bagatsing, Sunshine Cruz, Enzo Pineda, Director Danica Sta. Lucia and producer/ALV Films President Arnold Vegafria (photo courtesy of Rain "The Ranter" de Ocampo)

The film stars Sunshine Cruz, Enzo Pineda, Raymond Bagatsing, Bernadette Allyson and Ms. Gloria Sevilla. This is directed by two women Danica Sta. Lucia and Leilani Chavez. It’s about the gray areas of a relationship, talks about commitment, artistry, dominance, and just about all those small things conservative people don’t want to talk about. A tough stance yeah, but Sunshine trusts the directors much she gave them lee way to do things and execute this, including love scenes which she tells she knows she’s being taken cared of.

Raymond Bagatsing accepted this role as it is different, a potter which he likens to Patrick Swayze and he’s excited about the treatment. He says ”He is my inspiration, and I can’t wait for people to see how much time we’ve painstakingly given its treatment, you’ll see that all here.“

This film is produced by Spears Films, ALV Films and Cine Likha. Malamaya is an entry for the 15th Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival slated August 2 to 13 in CCP Theater and selected movie houses nationwide. They will also have a theatrical run on August 14 so watch out for that!

Dahling Nick for Cinema One Originals Festival 2015

Sunday, November 08, 2015

He's a Filipino historian, prolific writer and journalist. He's one of the best there is when it comes to short stories and novels made with the English language. He's also received the distinction as a National Artist of the Philippines for Literature and there's no contest to that fact that he's probably next to Rizal and Claro M. Recto. The current generation though barely knows him and this particular movie called Dahlin Nick will undoubtedly tell his story, together with his selected works, realism and his literary classics. This is also directed by famed Manila based Sari Lluch Dalena who's works Ka Oryang (2011) earned her a Best Director Award for the 7th Cinema One Originals Film Festival back in 2011. Cinema Originals 2015 will happen this November 9 - 11, 2015 at Trinoma, Glorietta, Resorts World Manila and SM Megamall.

Present during the unveiling of the movie's poster were National Artist F. Sionil Jose (who by the way told a very compelling story of his friend during the presscon). Other works and characters include Dr. Bienvenido Lumbera, award winning pen artists Gemino Abad, Greg C. Brilliantes, Erwin E. Castillo, Butch Dalisay, Jose Lacaba, Marra Pl. Lanot, Jose Maria Sison and Krip Yuson. It will also include archived images, works and blood tingling poetry. It will make you proud to know that you knew a person like Nick Juaquin existed and made the country proud.

You must be thinking why there are bottles of beer on the table. Nick Juaquin was known to carry around one during occasions, it was like a signature thing and on record, he was the only one allowed to carry one during stints in CCP and in other formal occasions. You'll understand that part while watching the film. Sionil F. Jose says Nick Juaquin was always seen having a bottle or two with or without occasions but he knew what he was thinking about, or every detail he's saying eve if he was drunk. People noticed it made him somewhat better with words in that state.

Raymond Bagatsing says he feels honored to have been able to do this portrayal of Nick Juaquin. The chance to work with Sari Dalena was already a dream and with this character, he had to study quite a lot so he could stay inside Dahling Nick's persona.

Coming back from a 15 year hiatus is beauty queen Dindi Gallardo. She'll play the role of Madame Imelda Marcos whilst good looking lad Lance Raymundo will play husband Ferdinand Marcos. Lance says "I could see this film be a medium of information, to be seen in schools, film showings, international screenings. It was hard to do because you're there for information since it's got historical facts and not to impose your personal views." Dindi added "I was surprised to have received a call telling me I'd work with the good people behind the film, plus it's not just any role because it is Ms. Imelda Marcos. I had to do research, go to libraries and read off specifics about the former first lady. Asking why me, they told me they needed someone who could do grace under pressure because it's hard to do a character like that.

Nick Juaquin's own family encourages people from the film industry and academe to work with them so they too would know more of his work. I've personally read some of it during high school and college specifically May Day Eve (1947), The Woman Who had Two Navels (1961) and A Portrait of the Artist as Filipino (1966). You'll get to see bits of it on the movie Dahling Nick, his life and his work.

The film also stars Alessandra de Rossi, Nick Lisazo, Emmanuel Dela Cruz, Bernardo Bernardo, Ronah Adiel Rostata, Bong Cabrera, Rica D. Abad, Paul Cedric Juan, Banaue Miclat Janssen, Che Ramos Cosio, Ping Medina, Adrian Cabido, John Agustin, Christian Del Mundo, Nitey Hernandez, JM Bernandino, Roli Inocencio, Karla Pambid, Karl Medina, Thea Yrastorza, Ross Persigan, Opaline Santos, Darwin Gordon de Roxas, Aba Lluch Dalena, Kris Lacaba, Nico Bagsic, Rica Abad, Nina Torralba, Kiko Matos, Ma. Isabel Lopez, Gabby Padilla, Hazel Faith Dela Cruz, Faye Alhambra, Johnny Regana and a lot more. This is produced by Ronald Arguelles.

Dahling Nick will be screened in Trinoma on November 11 at 9:40PM (Gala), in Glorietta Cinema 2:30PM and Megamall 7:30PM on November 12, 5:20PM in Resorts World Manila and 7PM Glorietta on November 14, 9:40PM Megamall on November 15, 2:45PM Megamall and 4:40PM Glorietta on November 16, 12:30PM Trinoma and 4:10PM Resorts World Manila on November 17. This is part of Cinema One Originals Festival 2015.
