Robinsons Appliances Hold Last Leg of RACE TO A MINUTE in Galleria South!

Tuesday, March 28, 2023

Spent my whole afternoon and evening traveling to San Pedro, Laguna a few days ago for the last leg of Robinsons Appliances Race to a Minute 2023. It's where they pick lucky shoppers from Robinsons Appliances and let them go through a short distanced course with 6 different activities in order to win prizes from Robinsons Appliances. They're doing this to say THANK YOU to all their customers who have patronized Robinsons Appliances all this year, and they gave up to Php 220,000 worth of prizes to lucky shoppers.

The event was hosted by Turs Daza and Elisse Joson. They have already done those in Valencia in Bukidnon, Robinsons Galleria Cebu, Robinsons Tugegarao so it was time to do it with GMA participants this time in the City of San Pedro. Each station in the event was quite difficult and had to be solved with physical strength, wit, and smarts. Their sponsors and appliance brands chipped in on each exercise, it was quite tiring to run around the mall while we chase the contestants to document it, here's how it went!

Here's the announcement of winners!

In the end, it was the Yellow team that won this last leg, and according to their conversations during the event (the executives and production), they plan to do another one by next year. So see, it's really worth it to shop at Robinsons Appliances. Make sure you follow their social channels especially their Facebook Page because they announce it and other promos there.

Congratulations to the winners and of course to Robinsons Appliances! Can't wait to join the festivities soon and be part of this event, because from where I see it, it's worth it!

3rd Biggest TIMEZONE Opens at Robinsons Place Manila

Sunday, April 10, 2022

M
y love for the arcades span years when I used to compete in different shops in Metro Manila. It further sparked my gamer life... and I've made lifelong friends which I treasure to this day. What I love about this form of entertainment is that it transcends time, as it is the perfect bonding time for people of any age and I still love it today. A few days ago, I've had the pleasure of spending time at the third largest TIMEZONE in the Philippines. This is located at Robinsons Place Manila's second floor at the end of the Pedro Gil wing, and it was so much fun to be in an arcade again after so many years!

Entertainment like this was surely missed during the last few years and I'm so glad restrictions have eased, and we can now enjoy a world class family entertainment center at the heart of Manila. We also got to talk to Rafael Prats Jr. the President and GM of TIMEZONE in the Philippines as he explained some of the new things the new branch will offer - including several short Tenpin Bowling and Duckpin lanes which people tend to get addicted to the whole day. Aside from that they've got several billiard tables which Dads, Sons, your friends can enjoy! There are also several Karaoke Kiosks where you can sing to your hearts content without the public judging you because it is an enclosed space. They also have a new 9D ride which people loved so much, it had a line in just a few minutes.

Thank you to Azrael Coladilla and Ruth Dela Cruz for taking photos of me while I was seriously playing for tickets at the newest TIMEZONE in Robinsons Place Manila

Much of the machines in this new venue actually come out with tickets which you can save and use to exchange with toys, plushies and food items. My personal favorite is the one that spins around and cough up discs that contain the value of tickets, I got 1K worth of it from that. I exchanged it for snacks and a plushie so I have something to give my Mom when I get home. She loved it!

Here's a short tour of the place on video, please enjoy!

Folks who love crane machines will be in plushie and ticket heaven as they've got a lot of these in the new TIMEZONE branch. Miss Universe Philippines National Director Shamcey Supsup was also there playing with her whole family. She represents ARTE partylist who represent entertainment industry workers and artists, she's really beautiful!

By the way, their prize redemption center was like a candy store. You can enter yourself and shop for the prize you want personally. Then they just scan your card for the equivalent points, pretty easy. I had so much fun at TIMEZONE and for sure, I will be back to play more of the games I did good at. Thank you so much to the people at TIMEZONE in Robinsons Place Manila, now you have more reasons to enjoy time with family and friends in Manila. Time for fun!

Robinsons Department Store Launches "Go Lokal!"

Saturday, March 25, 2017

We spent the afternoon at Robinsons Place Manila. It's the district's most busiest mall, frequented by the masses, expats, foreigners and just about anybody who loves shopping. The place is sprawling with restaurants, stores, specialty shops, kiosks and Robinsons Department Store, one of the best brands of retail in the country. The specific reason why we were there was for Go Lokal!, a new brand that the Robinsons Department Store is launching together with the help of DTI, the Robinsons group, suppliers and Micro - Small -  Medium Enterprises, they are launching this brand for small businesses that have products which they deem ready for the world stage, introducing them to one of the mall's biggest foot traffic areas so people could get to see the Filipino ingenuity, passion translated into their products which we've seen on the shelves of the new Go Lokal! store.

Robina Gokongwei says "Welcome DTI execs, I would like to thank them for including Robinsons Department Store in go Lokal, we are proud to promote Filipino products especially the passionate SME's who are included in this program. Thank you to everyone who made this happen, our partners, suppliers who believe in this cause to put the Filipino products in the world stage. The micro SME products will now have a place to get discovered and have opportunities to grow their business, here in Robinsons Department Store."

Here's a couple of things sold in the store. I'm posting some of the nice things I've seen there.

Natural fibers made into bags, Mom would love this!

Portable mats, your Yoga sessions come in Banig designs.

Bamboo watches, perfect for men.

Need souvenirs? They have them too!

Gift for the ladies? That's an easy task because they've got dresses and bags like these!

Teens who love music? These EcoSpeakers would be good for their iPhones or smart phones.

Something for Tita? These bangles come in different designs.

Kumagcow wants this Kumagcarabao LOL!

For high fashion enthusiasts or Ate who doesn't want Barbie, this doll would trace her back to her roots.

She can also play and sing "Bahay Kubo" (Nipa Hut) and play with all the vegetables on her basket.

Toys for the little boys, this Philippine Jeepney would keep those kids busy!

Dad can lift and put this sculpture on his porch, to drive away wild animals LOL

Mom would love this classy container made of mother of pearl, shells and gold trimmings.

Dad's cocktails would be a notch higher with these lovely Mango Liqueur.

For the guy friends who just had a baby boy, these cigars from Ilocos would be a great way to celebrate right?
You've got a government agency, the various Micro SME's and the Gokongwei group working in unison to take the fate of these small businesses into greater heights. Make sure to visit them right outside the Ladies Shoes section of Robinsons Department Store and get involved in patronizing these products so they would grow. You won't be sorry as Robinsons made sure they passed their quality standards before putting them on the shelves.

If you have friends and family looking for authentic Filipino souvenirs and products to take home to their next destination, suggest Go Lokal! and get them in one place, the Robinsons Department Store!

PABLO Opens First Store in the Philippines at Robinsons Place Manila

Wednesday, September 21, 2016

I've been hearing raves about PABLO since last year when the name kept on being mentioned by bloggers from the Asian region. I've discovered to eat cheese tarts from a different brand last year and found it absolutely unbelievable. For cheese lovers like me, the mix of sweet, salty and the crunchy crust was just an ingenious way of enjoying lovely food in different forms. It was heavenly, like you want to close your eyes and let those small bites permeate on your tongue a little much longer as you internally try and smell it from the inside. PABLO is Cheese Tart Specialty store from Japan. Founded in 2011, it started as a section of an open concept kitchen from Patisserie Brothers (2008) that grew quickly with the help of their creativity plus their premier product the cheese tart.

Masamitsu Sakimoto, Founder and CEO of PABLO
Founder and CEO Masamitsu Sakimoto flew all the way from Japan for the momentous event. This is as he says; a chance for Filipinos to experience their new store concept to let them see freshly baked products whilst the process is happening right before their eyes.

Obviously PABLO came from the name of Pablo Picasso. They did this to coincide with their goal of making sure their audience (YOU) would feel the element of surprise and excitement through these lovely cheese tarts. This is the authentic PABLO experience and they want to make sure that what they're having in Japan would be the same thing you'll love in Manila or any place in the world. I gladly had my first taste of the mini versions of the famous cheese tarts. They call these the PABLO Mini Chocolate, the PABLO Mini Plain and the PABLO Mini Matcha.

The PABLO Mini Chocolate was good. Now I'm a huge fan of chocolates but this was more of a cheese cake rather than chocolate cake. The crust on all of them are perfectly baked. It's crunchy all throughout and it kinda crumbles in all the right moments when you bite into it. The actual cheese and chocolate mixture in the center was like Lava Cake which was cooked on the outside but gooey on the inside. It's not too sweet and you would still smell that hint of cheese still in it. That part was amazing.

The PABLO Mini Plain was just not so plain. It's the epitome of cheese, the thing that's salty and sweet, you could smell it from outside the store. This ladies and gentlemen is a piece of heaven. It's got a thin baked cheese crust on the outside, then the gooey cheese mixture in the center is just going to haunt you for days on end if you don't get a second serving. Don't believe the detractors who think lining up for these lovely cheese tarts isn't worth it because chances are, they're probably no cheese lovers to begin with. This is worth the trip to Manila and if you're asking why people are lining up for it, it's because IT IS GOOD.

For Matcha lovers, don't say I didn't tell you. This is the PABLO Mini Matcha. The Matcha flavor is not too overpowering. Again, this is more of a cheese cake rather than a blob of matcha on top of a crust. It's like that plain one on top with a hint of matcha on it. The specific thing I liked about it is that you could still distinguish that it is a cheese tart. You could smell both, even though it is topped with matcha powder, it won't spoil the whole experience. This came a close second.
The Freshly Baked Cheese Tart is the reason why they have been able to achieve success. If you don't go home with it, it's like watching an orchestra play without strings, it's like racing without wheels on, it's like going to a concert without performers. It's going to be pointless. If you would like to buy one of these, I think they've managed to limit the number of purchases per person. It's that good.

Aside from these awesome goodies, they've got Mille-Feuille (a variety of them), Sabrel (cookies), plus really good coffee inside the store. I'd still suggest you take em home instead of staying in the cheesecake looking store as it gets pretty packed from noon til night.

Don't take my word for it. Visit the store today or if you are willing to wait, they're planning to open some MORE stores in a couple of months. PABLO in the Philippines is managed and brought here by Suyen Corporation, the same people who owns Bench, other brands and specialty restaurants in the country. You'll love em cheesecakes here for sure!
