Shopee has certainly increased their presence over the years and remain bullish. With the eve of affiliate marketing and live selling, a Filipino stands as champion. His name is JAMES AFANTE, popularly known as Kuya James in his socials. He tops the list of people who have done remarkable work in this industry and we got to talk to him yesterday as he prepared for this month's 12.12. James started in the industry when he was only 14. Using different platforms, he engaged with people and sold just about anything that he could get his hands on. In his mind, he had the confidence to do it, knew that this particular work had his name all over it, and that had a remarkable effect on the people that learned from him. Livestreaming was something he did by accident when no one was left in their office to do it, and it went viral.

I picked his brain a little by asking why he doesn't sell his own products (so he could earn it all) and he said "A lot of people ask me about that, but in E-Commerce, you invest your money on stocks and where to put it. This was a huge problem for me and those who are in the same shoes. When something happens like the pandemic or any accident, you'll be left with nothing and a huge debt. With affiliate marketing, you do not have risks on your capital, (costs of storage and manpower for logistics), and I can sell thousands without thinking about space because the brands that work with him already handles that. I can see products if they can sell, sometimes I don't know how I ended up being the top livestreamer. I put in the extra work, I was part of production design, checking prices, every detail, I am concerned. This is a tool to perform better, and I also listen to my followers. What they want, that's what I must do. These products are what they consistently buy from me, only the best, prices will also be subjected to vouchers this 12.12."

Shopee Taps VICE GANDA as Newest Brand Endorser

She's the one and only unkabogable Vice Ganda and she's the new brand ambassador for Shopee. This comes as they launch the 9.9 Super Shopping Day (starting on the 1st of September) plus new efforts to digitize Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the country. They partnered with the League of Provinces (hence the lawmakers present in the event) which they hope to help local entrepreneurs get tapped on the platform. Mind you, the org has a membership of over 81 provinces so there's definitely a lot who could benefit from it. They'll be trained and also guided how to get onboard the platform (just like what they've done in the past) but of course, with an entirely new audience.

Change the Look of Your Home with these Shopee 12.12 Big Christmas Sale Finds!

I've always been doing DIY wand crafting stuff to change the look of my room. Needless to say, the gray and white walls that I have was pretty plain, classy (of course), but I felt that it needed to get spruced up especially since it's been my background for many days over Zoom meetings and press conferences. We look silly in those virtual backgrounds so I went ahead and checked out Shopee to see what I could find.

Shopee's got everything and if you're raring to spruce up the look of your home, there are things that you can purchase in the app that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. 

Now I've seen this vendor idawallpaper.ph on the Shopee app and saw they'e got 3D Vinyl Wallpaper Foam Bricks that's both waterproof and has got lots of texture. It fits my monochrome theme in the room and would provide a different look for the walls I have in here. I was thinking to have this as a feature wall so it wouldn't look like I'm just in a plain wall when seen on meetings. Aside from that, this doesn't look cheap and it is very affordable (at 15 to 68 pesos a piece). I've also seen that they're doing a BIG MIDNIGHT SALE on the Shopee 12.12 Big Christmas Sale event, so I might actually be better off just putting this on my cart and check out 12am on that date. If I get a lot of it, I'll save a bunch without having to permanently having it as a fixture on the wall or harming the actual paint in it. It stays with an adhesive which would be apt for the time I'll have it there. I bet this would also soften sound coming from outside when I'm recording inside my room (perfect for unboxing videos!).
