If you're a child of the 80's and 90's, you've probably heard of Debbie Gibson and her hit single "Electric Youth", which is consequently celebrating its 35th year. She's back in Manila to do a 2 hour long concert at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City this coming April 26, Friday at 8pm.
She's also excited to perform her other hit songs like "We Could Be Together", "No More Rhyme", "Who Loves Ya Baby", "Over the Wall" and my personal favorite "Lost In Your Eyes".
She's still killin it in streaming platforms like Spotify and has amassed millions of streams and has cemented her status as a pop icon and theater performer these past few decades. She also returned to the Billboard charts with "Girls Night Out" peaking at #4 which is unbelievable!
She's not stopping anytime soon so if you are still hungry for her songs, go get tickets via Ticketnet or the New Frontier Box office too. Remember, April 26 is quite near so make sure to get them before they run out!
It's a nice morning to celebrate new things as Gogoro Philippines just launched their new Gogoro Experience Store at the Greenbelt 3 in Makati City. The event was held at Ayala Museum with executives coming from the Ayala Corporation, Globe, GCash, 917 Ventures, Gogoro Taiwan, Gogoro Philippines, the Taiwanese Embassy in Manila and various stakeholders were in attendance to take a first glimpse of what will be launched and supposed to be sold next month. This is quite nice that they thought of making sure you experience riding, looking at the actual Electronic Vehicle first before they release it to the market.

This is one of Ayala's projects in order to move to electric vehicles. Diversify is the word of the evening, this, as phone brand REALME just unleashed more AIoT devices which includes the realme M1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush and realme Smart Scale. They gave us the chance to test it out for a few weeks and see how it actually works. I'm a little picky when it comes to toothbrushes, but I'm glad this was good. I was a little skeptic about how vibration would be able to take toothbrush chores seriously but really, it did. My favorite though was the realme Smart Scale because it was easy to get data just by standing on it. It computed a lot of things, now enough of that talk and let's go unbox these things!
According to realme Marketing Lead Eason De Guzman, "We are trying to raise the digital lifestyle of Filipinos that is why we are releasing items that are like the toothbrush and the smart scale."
He also talked a little about the realme Narzo 20 which he says "The Narzo 20 will cater to people who need higher processing. It comes in silver sword and blue blade colors. The new realme N1 Sonic Electric Toothbrush has a very compact size, and is ipx7 standard water resistant. It also has a 130 day battery life. If you get this 5 mins of charge, you can use it for 9 days. This has an 800mah Large Battery, uses a Type C Charger port, has 4 cleaning modes soft mode, clean mode, whiten mode and polish mode. This also has blue reminder bristles so you would know if it is time to replace them on the device. It also uses very skin friendly material. The device comes with two types of bristles, one is the regular head and the other is for sensitive teeth. It is made by Dupont, and is 99% anti bacterial.The other head is for sensitive teeth, so you have options from day 1.
The realme Smart Scale is very high precision. It can weigh things as low as 50 grams and can carry as much as 150 pounds. I am glad it was able to carry a guy like me with no problem. It can measure upto 16 types of health measurement namely Weight, fat rate, body shape, BMI, muscle mass, Body age, basal metabolism, lean body weight, moisture rate, water retention, muscle rate, visceral fat, skeletal muscle, bone mass, protein, fat mass and heart rate.
The Smart Scale through the realme link can generate an easy to understand customized health report. It can also connect up to 4 phones and has bluetooth 5.0. This is a monster and it can last up to 365 days for its battery life.

Aside from the toothbrush and smart weighing scale, they also released the new Realme Smartcam 360. Now this device can record 1080p FHD. It has has motion tracking features, edge distortion correction, 360 pano vision, Infrared night vision (you'll see them at night!), Daylight vision, Two way voice talk and Real time alerts.
Realme Adventure Luggage
This is called the realme Adventurer Backpack. It has got 4 levels adjustment, PSA approved locks and Ykk zippers for superior quality. It is for the more modern stylish man or woman and is inspired by the rubiks cube design. This is a 3 layer special material, 40 percent more tough than your usual luggage. Good for checkin or hand carry.
This was so big that they had to do a three part launch which started a few days ago with gamers from Team Payaman who battled it out with Chooks and Doggie.

We're in one of Erwan Heussaff's popular hangout's in Makati called The Red Light located at Felipe Street in the city's red light district. Erwan is a very well known businessman and blogger and authors the food, health and fitness blog callef The Fat Kid Inside.
We're paying homage today to one of Philips most advanced kitchen appliances and solutions, the Philips Air Fryer and Erwan showed us how to prepare healthy and delicious food at almost 80% less use of oil, which also means you get the same quality meal without compromising flavor.

Burratta and Greens - Creamy Burratta Cheese in a pocket on top of a crunchy crouton and some crisp white greens on top. This was an awesome appetizer.
Cold Corn Chowder with Shrimp cooked ala plantsa. The contrast between hot and cold plus the real corn, delish! Those greens on the side are actually from Bukidnon which Erwan says is something that he does, source local ingredients and get connected with farmers.
Chorizo, Romesco Sauce, Grilled Fishcakes, Toasted Quinoa - This is filling, but still light. I like it a lot. The Fishcake is made from Lapulapu, Shrimp and Tuna. He also used the Philips Air Fryer to cook it!
Now this was supposed to be Hanger Steak but I think he used Rib Eye instead. I love it a little rare so when he did this I was a little ecstatic! The puree is made of roasted pumpkin, potatoes and roasted peppers. The salsa verde made it taste fresh even if it's just a hint of it. Really good!
This is Banana and Guyabano Flambe with Coconut cream and caramel sauce. It's my first time seeing Guyabano be used in cooking so I was a bit weirded out, but it was really good. I'll definitely try this soon!
There are more things that you can do with Philips Home Appliances and this is just the beginning. Their flagship hero product is the Philips Air Fryer and it is leading in sales in the Philippines. We had a very wonderful time at Epicurious at Shangrila Mall in Edsa during the launch of renowned food writer and critic Ms. Nancy Lumen's cookbook called "Healthy Choices, Delicious Results: Easy Recipes". Exhibit A: Look at the Philips Air Fryer. This thing just dished out some of the crispiest, mouthwatering pork Lechon Kawali we have ever tasted. Thing is, they even made it healthier by using this device instead of deep frying the meat together with potato slices that turned into fries. We couldn't believe the flavorful pork cutlet turned into something like it by leaving it there seasoned well and out in just a few minutes. It's juicy, flavorful, not too salty, just right. I bet it's about 80 percent less fat we'll get with the fries too. Now if only people start using air fryers like these instead of lard or oil for pork or roasted chicken, we'd end up with really good food and stay healthy at the same time.
Crispy Air Fried Lechon Kawali anyone?
Ms. Nancy Lumen even showed us how Philips even made their air fryer even more awesome by having more detachable parts and a stainless top so you can never have one of those episodes where oil splatter is much of a problem, or perhaps cleaning it per ce. The first version only had a knob with it and this newer one has digital buttons on it that you can press either to cook at a preferred rate or have modes already exist for some of the more common dishes. Philips is definitely thinking of you... your comfort as consumers.
Well they didn't stop there. Philips also whipped up really good cucumber lemonade using their rockin and efficient juicer that not only gets the job done, it also takes your healthy food choices a step further. All the vegetables and ingredients they sliced up, they just inserted it into the product and poof! You've got healthy and flavorful drinks now! They also got first timers the chance to cook using the Philips digital pressure cooker. We all know some cuts of meats are pretty hard to cook and would require a LOT of time to soften by boiling. With the help of the digital pressure cooker, you don't have to second guess taking the cap off on the pot since everything's designed to work with time, plus the vents that are easy to manage when you need it, when you want it.
Blitz mushrooms, add cream, water and butter for a hearty soup. Juice up lime/lemon, pass cucumbers on juicer and you'll have refreshing drinks for the whole family!
If you've got meat softened, take pasta, veggies and make a lot of parmesan cheese to make good bowl of ribbonettes. It's going to be good to get the kids to eat veggies too.
