Love Language and Having the Right Financial Partner

Saturday, February 14, 2026

I
t's the LOVE month, and you've probably been asked about your love language right? These days, it's not all flowers and chocolates because for serious folks, it's finances. Caring for each other costs a lot these days, and yes, that includes sourcing money.

As partners, you get to show up at the most important times. That includes health, business, and just about every single day you need each other. This is where a good banking partner like Metrobank comes in because with them, you're in good hands! With them in the mix, you take care of the bills and always pay on time. You can also track how much you spend without racking your brain over it. You can use the extra time with less stress and worry.

You can plan for your future. If you see yourself owning a car, a home or finance your wedding, they have saving tools to make that an easy process. They've got Time Deposits you can do online. Add to that saving for emergencies, because as they say, it's for that line "In Sickness or In Health". You can also utilize UITF's and other investment tools from the bank. You also get rewarded for value you spend on your cards, when you shop or fly. Transactions that need Instapay merely cost 8 pesos than compared with other platforms, that's a lot savings especially if you use the feature often.

Visit Metrobank's social channels and main website to know more. If you've got that covered, you can confidently love without inhibitions. A partner you can always count on, just love!

Valentines Day Ideas During the Pandemic

Saturday, February 06, 2021

For me, this time is important. It's been almost a year since we've all got locked in our homes and of course Valentines day is fast approaching. What do you do in a situation like this? I've done the legwork of putting these things together of some really good stuff hotels and brands are dishing out this February 14. Truth be told, there are really good ones out there and if you ask me, it's okay to dine out just as long as you follow strict health protocols. You're not just helping yourself in the process but also the businesses and employees.

 Dining

 Sheraton Manila Bay

Sheraton Manila Bay just recently opened their Pacific Lounge. If you want to celebrate Valentines day at home or this hotel, you can have a romantic fine dining dinner with you. They have "Love Picnic To Go" which costs Php 2,188 net. It's a 3-course Dinner package for your and your loved one. They also have a Valentines Grazing Box & Country Baguette which costs Php 2,488. You also get a complimentary bottle of wine with it, which is good considering that price. Call them via +632 5318 0788, 0917 583 7294,  0917 583 7326 for reservations. You can also email them via sh.mnlsb.fnb@sheraton.com. A 24 hour advance order is required so they can prepare it for you. If you opt for a romantic dinner under the gazebo, the 5 course dinner and wine with grazing box would be nice. That costs Php 9,888, but I love how exclusive it is so get that if you have money to spare.

They also have a Pre-Dinner Cocktail Buffet for only Php 988 which includes house wine, local beer, chilled juices, fresh juices, iced tea or soda. It only happens every Friday, so take advantage of that if you can celebrate early.

Sofitel Manila

Sofitel's got your romantic date while the sun is going down, or covered while dining out under the stars. They have a new food truck which they aptly call The Food Truck by Sofitel. Aside from the usual international food they do so nicely, they've got aphrodisiac-ish items such as Foie Gras Sliders, Beef Brisket, Chicken Gyro, Sizzling Gambas and your hubby or boyfriend's favorite, unlimited beer! For the more classy ones, they also have wine and sparkling wine to make you a little woozy. It costs Php 4,000, but well worth it. You may inquire with this form https://bit.ly/VDayatTheFoodTruck. Make sure you also do reserve ahead of time so you can go there without hitches!

You can also opt for the romantic valentines day at home by ordering Spiral at Home. The best dishes, all well planned and thought about to make sure your special someone enjoys it for that occasion. They're serving Truffle Roasted Poulet Jaune, Burrata Salad, Cheese and Charcuterie, their Chef's Sushi Selection and a dessert treat of Framboise Chocolate Crunch Gateaux with macarons. That truffle dish is already making me salivate, plus the dessert OMG. Go and check the rates via this form and inquire about it https://bit.ly/RomanticDinneratHome.

Savoy Hotel

This is my personal favorite hotel to stay in when I'm going in and out of Manila. It sits right outside the Ninoy Aquino International Airport 3 and you can even walk there by foot from here. They currently have good breads including Ube Cheese Pan de Sal offered at the Savoy Cafe. They also have really good ala carte offers which is composed of Western and Asian dishes. They also have really mean salads and sandwiches too, so if you're up for a breakfast meet or snack, this would be a nice place to do it.

Belmont Hotel Manila

Part of the Megaworld Group of hotels, Belmont Hotel Manila also has regular dining options. Aside from that, they've got a good bar that serves cocktails from their in house bar. I'd suggest you call (02) 5318-8887 or email dine@belmontmanila.com if you want to have a fun night with friends and close family, with health protocols observed of course as they have their own Stay Safe campaign. They even share their cocktail recipes via B Sessions which they post on their Facebook page. I'd like to have a dry Martini or frozen Margarita with a few ladies please!

Shopping at Shopee

Take time to make her feel special, your family, your friends, because at the end of the day, valentines day is all about LOVE and you are part of that. You have to still make it special and memorable for her, she deserves the nice things, you too. Get her a nice dinner, small gifts, and who knows, she might give you the same too.

Happy valentines day!

Their goal is to celebrate LOVE through tons of great music!

Erik finds this as a good way to start the year and says “Although Angeline isn’t here, I am so glad to be with my idols. This is a dream come true. Just thinking of the icons and I on stage I am already speechless. I don’t really plan things, but as a performer and artists I wish I could last in the business for a long time. That’s what I wish for. I am so honored to finally be in the stage with my idols, I even asked our producers if this is real. I hope to be not intimidated as I shut down when I feel that.”

Ogie says “Regine and I came from a very successful concert in the US but was so sad we didn’t sell much tickets in Vegas but only 98% (then laughs). I don’t wish for anything but wish evrything my wife would wish for. I also hope we have more artists who have concerts. I’ll be having a major concert this year because it’s my 30th year in the industry, that’s all I ask for.”

Ms. Regine Velasquez Alcasid says “This is so millenial, it’s going to be fun. Honestly I am contented with my family, very happy, I just wish good health and more blessings for them. My career? I cannot really ask for anything else.”

Martin Nievera was his own comic self and says “I wish I had more things happening this 2018. I am already old in the business but I am glad to be with these stars, I wish there were more like this and bring it out of the country as much as I can. Playboy Philippines: The International Issue Released

Saturday, March 26, 2016

Having been able to get the magazine, read and seen was enough for me, but getting to see the actual international playmates was just really off the charts. Yes they were here, in the flesh during the intimate meet and greet session at the Brewery at the Palace in BGC. I must say, I've already seen some of them during a runway event in Solaire a couple of years ago and that time I couldn't believe how much we've been lucky to have them in the country. Dragging along my guy friend, we braved the metro's traffic and sat with a couple more men who wanted to catch a glimpse of gorgeous Holly Wolf, Rebecca Boggiano and CJ Sparxxx.

These playmates looked so sultry in this year's first cover. I got a sense of how each one of them behaved during the meet and greet. They were already being mobbed, but they didn't mind, I'm sure they're kinda used to the testosterone levels that exists there. Holly Wolf was nice, she asked me not to add light too much since it was going to be too harsh on photos. That tells me how meticulous she is about details, which matters in my books. She's also been featured in different Playboy countries and garnered a few Playmate of the Year titles here and there.

Rebecca Boggiano is this issues Playmate of the Month. Her spread was awesome and when she came out of the van earlier that evening, I couldn't stop looking at her. She was stunning, no surprise though as she was a former Miss Universe Australia finalist. I would marry her if she asked me ha-ha! Then there's Ms. CJ Sparxxx, who was super nice. With that body and personality, I wouldn't be surprised if there were tons of men that would fall for her. She's that kind that gets a long with men easily, no frills, no fuss, just her. I heard they're also doing another shoot in her favorite place, the beach of which we have a LOT of in the Philippines. Playboy Philippines will be obliging us with a feature again for that, so here's a THANK YOU in advanced. I simply LOVE them all!

Oh and if that's not enough, also featured in the magazine are Ladies who Ink. Some of the country's most gorgeous women clad in ink shot quite artistically. Loved that part too. Make sure you get a copy of The International Issue from major bookstores, magazine stands nationwide.

Thank you Holly, Beck and Cj for having my copy signed! Thank you so much for being so nice too! Thank you also to Playboy Philippines for letting me cover your event. See you next issue perhaps? :)

Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz for Always Be My Maybe

Sunday, February 21, 2016

It's another romantic comedy film this time from Star Cinema, with a different combination as this is the first pairing of Gerald Anderson and Arci Muñoz. It's a story of two people who gave up on love and later finding out they actually might be the ones falling in love too.

Jake played by Gerald Anderson just got dumped by his girlfriend of 6 years. He proposed and got rejected, something that really hurt him the most. Tin-tin on the other hand (played by Arci Muñoz) just got off a no strings attached, no label relationship. She found out later on that he got back with his greatest love, one that she couldn't imagine happening. It did hurt her, a lot in fact, she couldn't even function normally. That's where they agreed to move on together, hopefully with a make believe relationship, but what if they suddenly fall in love?

The cast also includes Nikki Valdez, Carlo Aquino, TJ Trinidad, Kakai Bautista, Matt Evans, Jane Oineza and Mr. Tirso Cruz III. This is also directed by Dan Villegas who did blockbuster movies "Walang Forever", English Only Please and The Breakup Playlist among others. This is showing on February 24, 2016 and is under Star Cinema.

UNO Magazine: Covergirls Bangs Garcia and Dawn Jimenez

Wednesday, March 05, 2014

Sometimes, you need to grab a copy of UNO Magazine to realize that they know you. Men just like when we were all cave dwellers always had something in mind... And that's women. Sexy, luscious and hot in their form, you just can't stop fantasizing about them even in your sleep. Explosive or sweet, take your pick at UNO MAGAZINE's latest offerings as they unveil their covergirls for January and February... This is two of UNO's most hottest vixens. Didn't I tell you they were hot?

On the cover for the month of January is Bombshell Bangs Garcia. She's got spreads implying how explosive she is on and off screen. She also discusses bits and pieces about herself that you might have not seen yet in other interviews plus a couple or more photos holding up her guns and a tell all of what she's been doing these past few months (as she's been on a slight hiatus fromTV). She adds that she's also going to be in Dyesebel as an antagonist to gorgeous Anne Curtis. You'll love her, or hate her MORE soon but still, she's has everything you want in a girl. Watch out for that!

February's sweetest treat is OTJ's Dawn Jimenez. She's the controversial lady who gave it all to Gerald Anderson's character in the film. You never knew how sizzling hot it was going to be in the beginning and got surprised how feisty that scene is. If you haven't watched it, it was one of the film's highlights. When I met her on this mag signing event, she was a little quiet, reserved and had that mysterious thing going on for her. She's really pretty even if she's not that heavily made up. I like that.

On the mag though, she played a lot with candies and chocolate that could tittilate you even without mentioning that it's an aphrodisiac. She's hot in all the right places, especially her eyes. I love that on her.

Bangs Garcia felt like talking that evening. She told several stories about herself and what's happening soon. She felt the urge to probably update people since the last time we saw her was quite a long time ago. That same quality makes her attractive. I felt if she were your girlfriend you won't run out of stories. If you don't want anything boring, she could probably do that since she's very spontaneous. It's a trait I didn't know that would come from her. So that's probably why a lot of men adore her.

Two women out on the conquest of making you regret not firing that pistol, having that grenade explode, swim around in rich thick chocolate or bite off that sweet concoction. They've got that on several sexy outfits, large photos and more inside the January and February issue of UNO MAGAZINE. Definitely a collectors item! It's available in all leading bookstores, magazine stands and selected counters nationwide! Boys, you know you gotta have this! :)
