I Made "GUINNESS World Records" With HONOR X9c 5G

It must have been a really logistical nightmare for HONOR Philippines to do this in the morning of January 6th in Makati City. With Honor community members, executives, influencers and media, they started to plan and do this world record attempt of having “The Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously” a reality, not just for the brand, but for the Philippines.

For those who don't know, Guinness is the authority in record breaking facts and achievements. They flew in an actual adjudicator just for this occasion,  to prove that the HONOR X9c 5G would withstand a drop test, but do it with 250 people, doing it at the same time. 

We had runs, but on the actual drop test, we needed to do it right because otherwise, Guinness wouldn't certify it. They were so strict and had people look at us from left to right, front to back. When the attempt was made, they had the adjudication process done, audited everything from the people who successfully did it and those who didn't made the cut, wouldn't be counted at all. 

In the end, the official tally was 265 and was certified by the adjudicator in front of the stage. We now officially hold the record of “The Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Drop Test Simultaneously”, this is for HONOR, for the Philippines and the world!

This is just the start, because to tell you more, the phone we used hasn't been launched yet. Though it will be officially done this coming January 10th (today). Z4 ESports Takes RMC Season 7 Championship

We had a lot of fun watching teams battle it out at the RMC (realme Mobile Legends Cup) at the activity center of SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City. It's an annual event made to even further develop ESports gaming teams in the Philippines while showcasing the best mobile phones from realme, specifically the realme C53.

First up is the showmatch of SIBOL Team that won a SEA Games Gold Medal. Much talk about them being challenged by their foe the TNC Pro Team. During drafts much of their picks involved banning those who can pull and be tanky like Kaja, Franco, Kufra, Helcurt and others. TNC also chose a few fast fighters, marksmans, and a tank while Sibol had fast fighters and a mage to deal more damage. Sibol overwhelmed them in the map. 

 

Filipino Rap Lord Gloc9 gave us a show!

In the second match, Sibol had to battle it out with Smart Omega. Omega chose to band the fast fighters and chose fighter tanks and a mage while Sibol chose fighter and armor type heroes. Sibol also chose characters that can take down towers quite fast, taking advantage of the new emblem system in the recent update. It was a pretty tough match, quite close, but in the end it was team Sibol that took the win. Best talent award for the season went to Chantelle, she was also given the MVP later on in the celebrity match wherein Team Santie won too. Smart Omega Empress by the way also won the championship for the Women's League before this game, that was a good run!

Then the RMC Season 7 Championship match started, well not really. The supposed match between Team Z4 Esports Pegaxy and Elite was done in just a few minutes because after several attempts of getting in touch with them, Elite didn't show up, therefore awarding the win to Z4 Esports Pegaxy. They won Php 400,000 cash and a 150K worth of realme products.

NADINE, BEA + More at the OPPO Inspriation Ahead Event

Super happy to see OPPO getting a little closer to lifestyle events as they held an "Inspiration Ahead" forum with speakers like stylists Pam Quinones and Daryl Chang, concert photographer to the stars Magic Liwanag, and Fashion and Style blogger David Guison. It was nice to see them share their expertise in their respective fields, but in a nutshell, it takes guts to be fashionable, it's okay to experiment, make amends with style mishaps in the past (and to just go ahead and try it). 

 

 

Leanne and Naara also provided needed entertainment in the middle of festivities, music from them was really super nice, a lot of people danced during their set. I'm a fan of their music now :)

Magic says "My inspiration starts the moment I wake up, shooting different people, I learned that it depends on how you feel. Experience for me is champ! As a photographer, I'm glad my wife isn't a content creator, I get to rest, capture moments, even if it's not Hollywood or international artists, I get to share my story. David Guison says "I don't really think bout it so much nowadays, just dark, minimalist, things that you don't tend to see much, that's what I document. Knowing what you like is your style. It's nice to see people that hype you up, it helps because you get to say hi and show your personality. "

During the evening, they had Bea Alonzo on stage and talk about her own passions. She also shared her ways on finding inspiration on everything she does. She was extremely happy to see her fans on the grounds since late lunch time. That's dedication right there!

 

Then to make the evening even better, I was able to take a few minutes to talk to President NADINE LUSTRE who has been in the headlines these past few weeks. But of course, we didn't talk about THAT. I had to ask how she's been, and how she feels being trusted by OPPO all these years. It's been a while since I've sat down with her, so here, enjoy!

I don't know what it is about TECNO Mobile but their recent live streams have all become successful. This includes the recent one called Power Your Game which they did on June 5 wherein they partnered with leading MOBA game, Mobile Legends Bang Bang. With over 30 thousand live viewers and 2 Million views as of recent, it has been the most successful stream from the brand so far.

Winners of Vivo's VISION+ Mobile Photography Awards 2020

Looks like there's a throng of really good entries in the Vivo VISION+ Mobile Photography Awards 2020. This proves a lot that it doesn't really matter if you're using a DSLR or those old boxes they had centuries ago. This year, they partnered with National Geographic to find the photo or video that would be able to capture and personify individual emotions and humanistic culture. They did this for 2 months and over 135,000 entries from around the world were submitted, and the winner for photo of the year evidently won because of the story. Check out the winners below!

This shot called "Balinese Woman" won Arief Satria the Portrait category. He is a photographer who hails from Indonesia.

This is called "Camping Night with Beloved Friends" shot by Rifqi Moch Lutpi who is from Indonesia. He won honorable mention.

This video is called Opera Watch made by Chen Lei of China. This won the mobile video category.

For the Night category, this one is called "Steelwool with Bridge" shot by Pyae Phyo Aung who hails from Myanmar.

This one is called "Replicate" which is shot by Lin Haibo of China. He won the Memories category.

This photo called "Daily Life of Four Big Mouth Monsters" wins photo of the year for 2020. This was shot by photographer Zhang Yu from China.

Now how I wish I could watch the next one this year, perhaps I could join the portrait category and win it for the country. It pays owning a Vivo no? They're really making photography a real priority and I can't wait for more things from Vivo, they probably are making mean machines somewhere there. I wanna see, I wanna see!

REALME Tops Philippine Sales Q3 of 2020

REALME has been launched only two years ago and in just a short time, they've been doing pretty good. As announced recently, realme Philippines just copped number 1 spot in the Philippines. This stemmed from triple-digit growth during the third quarter of 2020. This was confirmed by global market intelligence firm IDC and this has been really a BIG feat. This third quarter was monumental as they scored 962.5 percent growth as they took 25.4 percent in local market scales, a phenomenal task done by a very huge expansion game of 465 kiosks, 119 concept stores and them partnering with over 5200+ partner stores. This was done across the country so there's really nothing unusual with the numbers.

Aside from that, they took a really good look at their brand and got one of Pixar's greatest animators to come up with their new character REALMEOW. I saw their video the other night and just said WOW. This guy is Independent, fearless, and dared to be just like RealMe. REALMEOW will be part of everything realme from hereon and some people say, he's actually immortal and only stays at 18 years old. Crazy, but if you saw the video he was in the other day, you're bound to fancy him. Wait, let me see if I can put it here.

VIVO V9 Launched in the Philippines

VIVO V9, the new flagship phone of VIVO

It’s an exciting addition to their arsenal and true enough, they just launched the VIVO V9 in the Philippines and we’ve been raring to get our hands on it.

It’s got a FullView Display, 24MP Front Camera (in a notch),Dual Rear Cameras, 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM and 2.2GHz Snapdragon 626 Octacore processor. I love it’s selfie capability so far and how it’s AI handles it. It also has AR Stickers for more fun if you love playing with it. I just installed games like Hello Hero and ROS and it has pretty much made my experience smooth, no lags at all.

VIVO Year of the Dog Photo Contest Ends Today

My affinity for street photography spans years since I picked up a DSLR. For me it showed how people live their daily lives, you begin to appreciate architecture, life, culture even more the way you see things and it would make you see how passionate other people in the same hobby, like kindred spirits you take notice of the littlest things and showcase photography as an art form. These days you don’t have to be a magician as each person who holds a smartphone can do it, some even better than the usual and I completely understand why.

It’s the Year of the Earth Dog and what better way to celebrate it but by taking photos in the oldest Chinatown in the world called Binondo. This district has history, telling us how the Filipino Chinese ancestry started in the country and why it’s so colorful everytime the Chinese New Year is celebrated.

VIVO had us use their Vivo V7+ a few weeks ago and had us walk along the streets of Binondo. As you can see I have a lot of shots that actually worked. Here’s a short video of our photowalk that day!
