The realme 14 Pro + 5G Takes Serious Photos, Water Test Approved

Aside from the fact that this is endorsed by the lovely Kathryn Bernardo, there's actually a lot more to the new realme 14 Pro+ 5G. I was able to experience handling this phone for a few weeks, and by far, it's a promising one that's quite serious with photos. 

 I'm saying this from experience, they took us to a far flung resort in Rizal to take a real world test of what the phone can do. Needless to say, I got really good photos... but honestly, I wasn't surprised because I saw the brand they used for the triple cameras, all SONY. I've been a photographer for years now, and I've seen a lot of folks in the industry who's handled pro cameras with lenses from the same corp. Images come out sharp with true colors, so I'm expecting the same with this smartphone. Although I artistically want a more saturated output, photos from it are good without edits. It's something folks would wish on their phones, and they're pretty good at it overall, as a brand. I also carry a realme 12 which I personally use for videos, and swear by its capability to shoot on HD. This realme 14 Pro + 5G definitely shows improvement over that, anyone would love improvements right?

The realme 14 Pro + 5G also has something that wasn't being done in the previous phones, the capability to withstand water splashes, we tested that out too. Check out this unboxing video and water test we did with it.

The thing is, the marble looking version of this handset (Pearl White) has the capability to change colors according to temperature. Sure enough, when we poured cold water from a borrowed phone of that variant, it showed blue veins all over the back. The Black Suede version that I had is more muted, something that I'd want if I didn't want to stand out too much. I like that they gave us options. 

 

This phone also has a Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processor. This makes it capable of doing even more CPU and GPU work plus AI. AI is quite useful these days both for editing photos and automation purpose. If you're also a gamer and want other work done on your phone, this makes it possible to do that. Overall, you'll love this handset if you're a casual gamer or use it mostly for social meda, a little work and daily abuse. If you are a little adventurous, the phone can withstand usual wear and tear, plus water as indicated by standards. It also carries a huge battery, 6000mAh, it can last a day and a few more hours plus charge fast with the proprietary SUPERVOOC charge that realme carries.

They have promos going on for this model on TikTok and Shopee, so if you're planning to get this phone, you better act fast (as it only is limited and subject to availability, some realme Watch S2 I heard). World's Thinnest Foldable HONOR Magic V2 5G Now in the Philippines

The world's thinnest foldable phone is now in the Philippines. At the Enderun Tent in Taguig, HONOR Philippines launched the Honor Magic V2 5G, a well designed smartphone with a 5000mAh battery, 23GB RAM + 512 ROM and 3 cameras at 50, 50 and 20 Megapixels. It's also light, has AI Motion Sensing for those nice moving shots. Together with this is the Honor X8b, a stylish photo centric phone with a 102MP main camera. Both are designed well, and available in different colorways.

The Honor Magic V2 is best for users that love the look of sophistication, and would be a conversation starter. This is why they made it this thin.

NADINE LUSTRE and BEA ALONZO at the OPPO Reno 11 Series Launch

The folks from OPPO just launched the OPPO Reno 11 Series 5G and together with it, are phone ambassadors Nadine Lustre and Bea Alonzo. They've also appeared the TV commercial which was shown in the event highlighting its new Portrait Expert centric features, with no less than Nadine and Bea showing how it's done.

They took the OPPO Reno 11 5g and the OPPO Reno 11 Pro 5G phones for a spin by using the 32MP telephoto lens to their advantage, which tells me you don't need a huge camera to actually take good shots. The photos above speak for itself!

The phones are available in Pearl White and Wave Green colorways. It's also quite thin, with it's Ultra Slim body, you can take it around inside your pocket with ease. It has 120Hz Ultra High refresh rate, so those movies or games can easily be seen. You can also take photos with the 112 degree ultra wide angle camera for those group photos or landscape shots you wanted to do.

We came out to sea just to get a glimpse of HONOR's newest phone, the HONOR X8a. The device is the latest, most affordable 100MP camera equipped smartphone from the brand which boasts DSLR like photos in a 6.7 inch display which folks can use in usual work, leisure or entertainment. Here's a short video about the short trip we had in Manila bay that afternoon and a few shots I did on board the yacht.

The device also was light, thin, and doesn't need much effort to like. Just got off the Xiaomi 12 Lite event streamed on the Xiaomi Philippines Facebook page today. Their best news is about the new Xiaomi 12 Lite that will be released in the Philippines. Xiaomi also has introduced several home devices that are part of their aIOT smart products which you'll love!

With what they talked about, I was most impressed with the 32 Megapixel Selfie Camera, a 108 Megapixel main camera, 120 Ultra Wide Camera, plus eye tracking technology in their newest flagship device. It also has HDR in the front camera so you don't lose details even if you're against the light. It's got vibrant colors, even on videos and very comfortable display no matter what condition there is while handling the phone.

Looks like ASUS is at it again as they release a new ZenBook 14 UX42EA which is a 14 inch ultraportable laptop which is good for everyday office requirements, school packed with power, speed and better fit for productive sessions, something that does the job. I own one (a latter model) and just as I needed something that would also do video editing and tons of word processing, it's been my companion for all the things you see on my blog, social networks and even my YouTube channel.

It's my personal companion during those hard days when I need to do a lot of things, and it's amazing I could even play Valorant in it casually. Timeless, beautiful, and very portable. I love it!

Aside from that, ASUS also told us about how successful their efforts were in helping several local government units, hospitals, centers so they could have access to ASUS laptop computers and do jobs like contact tracing, documentation of patients and clerical work with it. They donated units for them and obviously, it has done wonders for the communities. I am so impressed how they thought of ways they could help even in troubled times, they should be lauded for that.

The event also introduced two new brand ambassadors, host and radio DJ Jaz Reyes and the Filipino heartthrob who did quite good in Indonesia Teejay Marquez. Jaz showcased the ZenBook 13 which she felt was a good fit for young ones who are into beginning their professional lives or into computing and content creation. Teejay on the other hand told us about the VivoBook S14 and how it can do so much more than just work and play. Teejay also teased about a laptop giveaway he is doing on his Tiktok account, it's called #BeIncredibleChallenge of which he'll come out with mechanics come November, so stay tuned for that!

REALME Launches realme 7 Pro, realme 7 and the realme Buds Q

realme 7 in AG Split design, Mist Blue is aesthetically unique

Today is a good day to see something new and mobile phone manufacturer REALME is answering that call to bring even more powerful yet affordable phones in the market. By standards, this is entry level to mid range. The need for it to support tons of applications on the Google Play store for studying, meeting, remote work, has now become very important and releasing this at this time is just on point for this brand.

We got first dibs trying out two things, one is the realme 7 and the other is the realme Buds Q. The realme 7 takes absolutely good photos, charges fast (30W Dart Charge), and doesn't lose power the whole day because of its 5000mAh battery. I must admit, I like the Portrait mode on the camera as it produces nice bokeh for that creamy background. Best of all, they are also launching a few service centers soon, to make sure you get taken cared of even after sales happen. They are also offering this in Home Credit and Lazada where tons of savings and lay away programs are seen starting today.

The realme Buds Q has its premium design, sounds better on games as tested on COD, I could hear those footsteps just fine and find enemies with ease.

It also has dual speakers, all running on Android 10. (shows battery 20 minutes after and it is on 48%, after a few minutes it was already on 86% WOW). The RealMe 7 improves the perfromance of around 15 percent compared be to previous 6. The Back is made of poly carbonate, with AG aka anti glare finish."
