Huawei Encourages Digital Skills Training For Students

Sunday, November 28, 2021

Huawei just concluded the 7th Seeds for the Future program and has benefited over 200 students all over the Philippines. Ceremonies were attended by DICT Undersecretary Arnold Ali Atienza and DOST Undersecretary Renato Solidum last Friday.

Mr. Atienza lauded Huawei's Seeds for the Future program as they have really good training programs in order to develop more ICT professionals in the country. Aside from personal growth, they'll be part of the needed workforce for the booming Philippine ICT industry and ecosystem that Huawei also supports.

There is a lot of growth in the fields of SOHO, healthcare and education that this could help especially with the rise of new technologies in 5G, AI and IoT, same in other countries. Huawei Philippines' very own VP Daniel Guo says "There will be more opportunities for ICT talents and equipping these students will help make the country better equipped in anything digital."

Seeds for the Future program started in 2015 in the PH and has partnered with 50 Philippine Universities that helped over 9600 students in the same field. This is Huawei's initiative for educatin so they could bring more skilled Filipinos in the modern world.

I'm sure a lot of you are using GCash for your transactions during this ECQ. It's convenient, you don't have to go to banks anymore and do it in the palm of your hand with just a few screen presses. Aside from that, it's secure and cheap, costs free most of the time and you get to help a lot of people who are in dire straights during the pandemic.

See, there's a new service in the GCash app called GCash Padala. It's a way for your non e-wallet using friends or family to receive money in an instant that's affordable, fast and easy. They are also waiving Padala fees from August 6 to 20 because it's ECQ. On a normal day, they only charge up to 1% on 500 peso minimum send which is already cheap by any standard. To claim it, they just need 1 valid ID and present it to 2000 GCash Padala partner shops like Posible, Go VIP Center, Tambunting Pawnshops, Panalo Express and tons of other pera outlet and sarisari stores nationwide.

Senders just log in on the GCash app and use the GCash Padala section. You just put in the full name, mobile number and the amount on it. POKWANG Transfers to GMA: Her Shows and Future Plans

Monday, June 21, 2021

Word spread like wildfire last week as news of her transferring networks was being talked about in the grapevine. I love her and her husband, more so when I got the chance to talk to them in different projects over the years. She's no less than Pokwang, I usually call her Ms. Pokie of course. She's very nice, she keeps to it that she always is when she works people and its evident that even if this is a major change, everyone is still supportive of her. That alone is a testament how she's been able to keep friendships tight.

Ms. Pokie says "The process was good, we didn't ruffle feathers. My transition overall was smooth. It wasn't easy though because I've been there for years. I'm an artist and I wanted to do more things. Although we were given a lot of things, we were just too many, so I had to decide. The contract is also 3 years in GMA Artist Center. I've wanted to work with Alden, Rayver, Jennelyn, Dingdong, Dennis Trillo, Marian Rivera, Carla, Aiai, Uge, but I've had the opportunity to work with Michael V recently for Pepito Manaloto, so you'll see that soon."

Asked for what she'll bring in GMA, she says "When I was an OFW, I was a choreographer. Maybe if I'll do things here, I can sing and dance while I'm cooking. I'm a happy Mom, it's not easy I know, but I hope they get to know me as a resilient artist, one who would give smiles no matter what happens. I can't really stop doing my businesses because I have a lot of people that I need to help with regards to that business. I don't want to stop that because they also need that to live, to earn, we need to fight for that."

The hardest person she had to say goodbye to was ABSCBN Entertainment Executive Deo Endrinal whom she mentioned during this interview.

She also talks about her business and says "I'll be launching a few new products soon, so I hope people still patronize that. It's not that easy to do this, and of course, but they're really forward thinking, they were open to accept my decision so in a way, they really did support me. Like what I said, I left a mark when they say my name, they know I treat people equally. It's not everyday that you are on top, you have to treat everyone equally and accept them fully. This is my passion, I'm an artist, I still have a lot of things I want to do, I'm a comedian, I'm a businesswoman, my flamboyant character would never go out, I'll still do that when there are huge events. I want to thank the people where I started, ABSCBN, I want to also thank for whatever I have now, the people who supported me and continue to do til now. Thank you. Thank you also to God who protects us, keep us healthy. I'm giving GMA the trust because I see how they take care of their talents, I see them shine, this decision wasn't easy but it's a good one. I had to wake up early, write dedication on all of my products, I get to be part of every customers celebration. I also give messages to people, to give them smiles, to make them happy, it's priceless. I even have to give messages to the sick, encourage them to take the next day. Everything is possible in prayer, it's not just money, but the friendships you keep, even if you end up in other networks, everyone will be your friend if you stay nice. Everyone will be excited to work with you if you do that."

And now, you'll see Ms. Pokie on GMA shows like the "Tekla and Boobay Show", Sarap Diva, Wish Ko Lang on their anniversary special. She will also be in Magpakailanman, All Out Sundays, and regularly on Pepito Manaloto. You'll also be seeing her in other shows soon, so make sure you follow her journey as a new Kapuso.

PayMaya Says: Bank Transfer Through InstaPay Stays FREE til October 31st

Saturday, October 03, 2020

This is good news for those who were caught off guard with pronouncements by digital wallet providers suddenly charging for Bank transfers and transactions.

PayMaya is continuing to make sending money from PayMaya accounts to other banks and E-Wallets through InstaPay FREE until October 31st, 2020. They will also be waiving off fees for PayMaya to PayMaya transfers, all free of charge.

They also want customers to check with their individual banks for any transaction fees as they might charge you upon adding money to their PayMaya account. You can also choose to link your BPI accounts to do it for FREE or do it over the counter with BDO or Ministop branches. There are also Pera Hub branches nationwide that can do it for you instead. This comes as a statement from PayMaya released October 1st.

I really take this as good news. Plan your transactions accordingly so you don't spend too much on fees. Times are rough, and the last thing we want to do is to spend more with these fees. It's where I pay my bills too, these are no chump change to be okay about. I hope everyone else follow suit.

Shopping, Transferring Funds Online Made Easy Through the eMoney XChange Service

Thursday, July 21, 2011

Online transactions are very risky and I know how Filipinos tend to shy away from purchasing things online; but in this day and age there are SO MANY BANKS/SERVICES OUT THERE that you can't decide where to go to and how. This is what network giant Globe (G-Xchange, Inc. thru GCASH Services) and banking powerhouse Unionbank of the Philippines (EON, E-Wallet, ePayCard, Savings and Checking Accounts) are gunning to simplify. Watch how they do this now with better choices and naxinizw Internet related secured connectivity.

Purchasing through online retail stores like Amazon, Ebay or Multiply these card and GCASH services are but of a normal sight. Some prefer GCASH or the EON Card/Visa services or Paypal debit transactions in order to pay for products they want to buy. This is a huge market indeed and in order to make things better for all consumers G-Xchange and Union Bank of the Philippines joined forces to bring you a partnership that would benefit all of us... it's called eMoney XCHANGE.

Let me tell you why online shoppers and bloggers prefer UNIONBANK's EON Card first over the other banks. First of all, there are only a few reputable paying services in the United States/Philippines and if you are getting financial transactions over the Internet the preferred medium is Paypal. Before you can get your Paypal Account registered it asks for a bank number. This particular number isn't normally given nor well known by banks. This information is readily available though on the Internet for UNIONBANK of the Philippines and they only charge a very minimal amount every time you transfer funds. The EON card is the best in the market for this function. Probably 80% of social media users like me use their EON Card because they only charge 50 pesos for it plus no maintaining balance to worry about. The 250 peso fee per annum is so cheap. Did you know that the other banks would charge you a whopping 250 - to a few thousand of pesos per transaction just for that function alone to work? That's a holdup in my dictionary. This card also connected to Bancnet/Megalink/Expressnet so you get the easiest ways to pay for your bills and local purchases (if you want to use it as a debit card). Do you now see my point why why I chose to get an EON Card?

Globe on the other hand through it's subsidiary G-Xchange Incorporated's GCASH has been making Filipino lives easier these past few years. Remittances (from OFW's and your relatives) and purchases in the local market has been done on this medium and preferred by more establishments - websites nationwide. I use it to even purchase products for photography on merchant place Multiply and haven't got any hitches at all. If there's a partner establishment outside the Philippines I'm sure it will be easy to get your money to the Philippines with GCASH facilities less the humongous bank fees associated with that. With this synnergy Globe is excited to partner up with Union Bank of the Philippines and make things better for you and me. You can now transfer funds from the EON Card and your Globe Handyphone!

How?! That's Easy!

To transfer Money from your Globe GCASH wallet to your preferred Union Bank of the Philippines Account just text G2U space and send it to 2318. This will only charge you 7.50 pesos per transaction. If you want to transfer funds from your Union Bank Account to your Globe GCASH Wallet Text U2G space and send it to 2318 also. Same charges apply. To inquire for your balance in the Union Bank account just text BAL to 2318 and they will charge you only 2.50 pesos for that! Isn't that a steal?!

If you haven't activated your GCASH services on your Globe Handyphone here's how!

Go to the Globe Postpaid and Prepaid Icon (Settings>Phone>Sim Applications if you are using an IPHONE). In the GCASH menu select Register and follow the instructions indicated. You can now easily put funds on your GCASH Wallet through available 18,000++ stores nationwide.

How do I enroll to the Service?!
