Quezon City certainly has some really remarkable food havens and one of them is the Banawe area. There's a multitude number of cuisines, and each street still has some dishes to discover, but this one might change your life (oh yes we love puns!).

For those who are familiar with Pelayo's Cafe + Bistro (and their restaurants across Luzon), they've been in the food industry for a couple of years now. Solidly known for their mouthwatering Crispy Pata and Patatim, they have been able to satisfy countless Filipino homes with their quality cooked dishes and hosted tons of events and gatherings too. We had a half serving of it on a plate to whet our appetite, and to tell you honestly, their version is a really good one. If you're often being served the tangy Italian versions of it in high end restaurants in Manila, Susana's Lasagna is a lot different because they managed to modify the dish to fit the Filipino palate. It's not too sour, not too sweet, but just right. It's also very cheesy, where one should note that even if they made it affordable, they didn't shortchange in the quality of ingredients. This is something they take pride on.

I've always loved KFC! I used to have this as lunch almost everyday in high school since we had a branch right beside Trinity in QC. I had the original recipe those days because I was trying to figure out HOW IT WAS MADE so I could replicate it at home, so let's just say I kinda failed miserably. These days I wouldn't be caught going here without my favorite HOT AND CRISPY Chicken because it's got two things that I loved, the crispy skin and breading plus of course the intense heat that comes with the "seasoned Chicken thigh" which I always had when ordering a meal. The problem is, I couldn't share a bucket at home because I'm the only one who could stand the spicyness of the HOT AND CRISPY variant; and got my Mom, Dad and everybody else take out the good parts of the chicken, and I end up eating them all! Greenwich Launches Bacon Crispy Thins

We're in Greenwich BGC Stopover today to get schooled on Bacon today! Chef Ed Bugia taught us thay early Chinese actually invented it but used largely to preserve meat. Salt takes out the moisture and smoke brings in the flavor. 

They showed us many ways to actually use bacon, one pf which is Bacon Deviled Eggs! Then since we're also talking about Canada that afternoon, they also served Cream Cheese and Bacon Poutine with Caramelized Onions, Apples and Chives, plus Baked Potato and Cream Cheese Soup for the love of everything Bacon! But that's not all! I was excited because Greenwich is going all the way by launching a one of a kind pizza flavor called Greenwich Bacon Crispy Thins!

Awww it was so Bacony if there's a word for it. You can taste the smoky, salty, sweet and savory notes, plus the cheese too! We all need bacon in our lives!

My heart stopped when I saw this photo on my timeline. I remember the time we were at the opening of the Wingstop branch in Glorietta a few weeks ago. Now, they're not just opening a new branch in Bonifacio Stop Over, they're also giving away Wings for FREE! This unbelievable phenomenon has happened in their other branches like Greenhills and UP Town Center, and with the new Bonifacio Stop Over branch, they're crazy I know!

I super duper love the ATOMIC flavor which had me believe in Chicken Wings heaven all over again. Aside from that, they've got other flavors like the Hickory Smoked Barbecue, Hot Buffalo, Mild Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Cajun, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper and the Louisiana Rub. Wingstop Opens New Branch in Glorietta 2!

It was a fun night, one of the best restaurant launches that I have ever been to. The people were pretty (tons of celebrities and models!), the booze, the soda, the wings were overflowing and it was because of one good thing, WINGSTOP has put up another branch in Glorietta 2. Now, people based in Makati has so many things to look forward to. They're hooking you up with the best wings in town, each very unique, super good in 9 different flavors!

They had stations in the venue, each having perfectly cooked crispy fried chicken, the flavors were permeating through the crowd, one or the other having that distinct aroma, loving each wing part that I had to sink my teeth in together with my friends and other bloggers during the launch.

It was like a circus. Each Wingstop wing guy had their own flavor bowl tossed, swirled, and put into these paper containers. It was still hot, I could tell they pretty much got individual wing covered with the special sauces and spices. My mouth was already watering because I could see some of them being eaten by the early birds. I did the next smart thing and prepared my self for an all out wing party! This is it!

I had ice cold Coke in one part of the table, then had them prepare the wings in all flavors like Hickory Smoked Barbecue, Hot Buffalo, Mild Buffalo, Garlic Parmesan, Cajun, Teriyaki, Lemon Pepper (my favorite), Louisiana Rub and the super hot one called Atomic. They were not joking about the fact that it is hot, I had two and I almost gulped two cans of coke because of that. It was amazing because it's like a gustatory adventure on its own. I super like how they got me into Wingstop Chicken Wing Monster mode in no time. You could tell how I enjoyed it just by looking at the aftermath of my meal.

Melts In Your Mouth Crispy Pata at Livestock Restaurant ⚫ Bar

We've been looking at great restaurants recently and we've stumbled upon a protein rich one right here in the heart of Quezon City. Located at the sweet street of Sgt. Esguerra is this huge establishment called Livestock Restaurant and Bar. It's beside Packo's Grill and a stones throw away from Wil Tower catering mostly to nearby offices who would want to spend great lunch or dinner or something else after office hours. We've looked at the menu and I'm surprised to see that they've got meaty specials and great pork dishes that can rival the best in the metro. I'll tell you a little more about that later, let's look around first shall we?

The Interiors

The term Livestock instantly would imply a more western vibe to it but the look of the restaurant was more of a relaxed, medium scale sports bar with emphasis on the great selection of wines and spirits that you'll see right from the moment you enter its doors.

They've got ample amount of parking so you don't have to go and leave your car out on the street if you have issues with that. The selections of drinks as you see wouldn't be a problem because most of their offerings are laid out on the counter. You can ask your friendly server what you may want to be served but remember that they have good wine here that would go perfectly with the dishes you'll see later. You can bring your friends along on big sports events because they'll probably have them shown on those wide screen HD TV's they have around the restaurant.

The Greenwich Crispy Glazed Chicken!

It was a nice evening indeed when my blogger friends and I attended a grand Rockeoke Night once again at Greenwich! It's something I was looking forward to these past few days because they launched something so good (saw it in my timeline) I was able to take a bite of it when we just came in, not that I was hungry; but it was because I just had to have my first bite of it! I can't wait!

How about crunchy breaded Onion Rings for starters? It was a nice thing to chow down on these gorgeous golden fried onion rings dipped in tangy garlicky mayo whilst sipping on my Buco Pandan flavored Pearl Coolers. It's one of the nicest things to have on a barkada meet! (Barkada size is just 89 bucks!)

Or how about this?

French Fries! But there's a twist! It's Pizza flavor!... it's hot (piping hot because they just took it out of the cooker!) and savory because it's thick and perfect to the bite. Not one of those small fries you often see in other fastfood joints. Quite lovely with a spurt of ketchup definitely!

Thin crust, layers of cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese and cheese. This is the one and only 7 Cheese Pizza! This divine play on the thin crust pizza is just to die for! If you want more, there's always an Overload Pizza as an option! Well, if you are up for it maybe you can get both instead!

Their best pizza just has so much love in it! All the meat pieces, fresh bell peppers, onions, olives and layers of cheese to make it extra special! This only costs 315! Unbelievable!

Then it was time for the pièce de résistance!

Covered in crunchy layers of breading and that awesome sweet sauce injected that made that full bodied flavor seep in all throughout the meat; this is their new product called Crispy Glazed Chicken. Kids like me (of course I am!) would absolutely go nuts biting into this flavorful chicken only Greenwich can think of. It's not like those run of the mill chicken pieces that when you finish biting off the breading and the rest of the chicken just goes bland. This one had flavor, into the bones! I love it, I absolutely love it! I had more chicken than the rest of the guys who were there for this scrumptious pieces of chicken goodness!

If you had this as a meal, it'll only cost you 79 bucks! Now if that isn't gonna convince you that it's better then you better do the next best thing and believe a couple of people who tried this already. The Kikay Barkada Chico Garcia, Delamar Arias and Gino Quillamor swears this is their chicken of choice. Even Ateneo's big 3 Nico Salva, Keifer Ravena and Greg Slaughter attests to this awesome chicken goodness that you can never go wrong with; and you can get it at a very affordable price!

Should I still make an effort to tell you that you need to try this at your local Greenwich branch nationwide? I'm sure I don't have to, because you'll get your family, friends and close barkada a treat that they will never forget... memories will still be better if you make it a habit going to Greenwich; that's for sure!
