Lance Raymundo Does “Martir Sa Golgota” This Holy Week

Friday, March 23, 2018

I have witnessed his story unfold on music, TV and in 2014 het met an accident that nobody would ever want to happen. Lance Raymundo had a promising career, hit songs, a glorious future ahead of him and being bound in a wheelchair with his face disfigured must have been so hard for anyone, but not this man.

Honestly, while I was having coffee with him during this interview, my mind was somewhere else, really wondering. While looking at him, I was really at awe at how Lance have had all these POSITIVITY in him while he shared his story. He said it stems from accepting the situation, he knew he had to do that not just to be alive but to go back to where he wants to be in his literal second life.

I found him VERY THANKFUL, APPRECIATIVE and WILLING to share his story because he knew how it would inspire other people, including the youth, the millenials and make them have their outlook in life a little better than before. Aside from the talks, he made it a point to participate in projects of former councilor, actor and director Lou Veloso. In this community play (called Cenaculo in the Philippines) entitled Martir Sa Golgota , he’ll be playing role of Jesus Christ, and says “I always want to make time for this in my schedules, this is my way to give back regardless of religious affinity.”

Here’s his interview in two parts, hope you pick up something inspiring from this short talk, because I did.

Again, make sure to watch the first salvo tomorrow at Althea Park, Paseo Outlets at Greenfield City in Sta. Rosa Laguna and on March 25 at Greenfield District Central Park in Mandaluyong City. They will also be taking this to other towns and major cities as Lance mentioned. If you haven’t seen a Senakulo yet, this may be the opportune time to do it. Go see the story and the passion of Christ as portrayed by an inspiring man.

It’s Holy Week, you be good!

An Easy, Fun Filled Galactic Easter at Marriott Hotel Manila!

Friday, March 30, 2012

There are several things that I need to do in order to celebrate Easter with kids this season. Wake up, wash my face, take tons of time in the market, prepare everything first, then cook. After that you need to also take time and paint all the eggs you need to hide from these smart ones then let them feast and celebrate the coming of Christ into this world. That entails thousands of pesos, plus labor and time that I don't really have. It's a good thing there are several establishments who are already aware of this problem and make necessary arrangements to make that one day for the kids very special.

At Marriott Hotel Manila there is a Big Bang Stay package for only P10, 980 net and this includes two tickets to the Lost in Space Easter Party and Game Zoo credits at the Newport Mall. This promo runs from April 1 to 10 with minimum two nights stay. Or you can opt for the great Easter Party for only P500 (kid) and P1, 000 (adult) entrance fees. This event has been packed since 2010 and it'll be even bigger this year! There will be games, prizes and surprises awaiting those who want to avail of these promos. World class Executive Chef Meik Brammer has prepared a spectacular menu to the delight of kids and their families. They will also take home lots of goodies from Marriott and different vendors so you're surely get your money's worth and MORE! Or if you prefer a more intimate setting, you can avail of the Marriott Cafe experience for only 2,500 pesos inclusive of one Lost in Space Easter party ticket. Their brunch buffet is quite a grand spread and you'll choose between fourteen different food stations so you know your degustation is just starting!

Need I say more? Make sure you call Marriott Hotels Manila and reserve a spot on their highly awaited Easter Party, it's the best advice I could give you this lent.

Surely the Best Comedy Film of the Year! Pak! Pak! My Dr. Kwak!

Wednesday, April 13, 2011

I am so lucky! I don't really meet celebrities that much these days but I was so glad I got invited in the press conference of Pak! Pak! My Doctor Kwak! at ABSCBN's Dolphy Theater. Watch this!

Star Cinema and MZET Productions finally released this great film from the one and only Prince of Comedy "Bossing" Vic Sotto and Romance-Drama Princess Bea Alonzo. Directed by Tony Y. Reyes this surely will be another unforgettable comedy film for the whole family. I got there on time and boy I was really star struck with Bossing. Just look at this humble, handsome guy up close when they walked in the venue.

I was thinking "Oh my God! There he is! Ang Idol ko! Heheh" as Bossing (which he is fondly called) walked inside the ABSCBN Gardens. He is a household name and everyone knows him weather they belong to class ABCDE. Not that there is a caste system here but I was just pointing out he is loved by everybody!

Look at who he's also with on that press conference... the pretty Bea Alonzo. She's an eye-catcher to say the least and we know here from her films and TV team ups with local cinema hearthrob John Lloyd Cruz. Apparently this is very new and who would ever thought they would be in the same movie together. There was a lot of discomfort from the movie press and the viewing public because as you can see in the cast, a lot of them are from GMA which is an arch enemy in Philippine television of ABSCBN; Star Cinema's parent corporation.

From L-R Jose Manalo (GMA), Pokwang, Direk Tony Y. Reyes, Wally Bayola(GMA), Vic Sotto (GMA), Bea Alonzo, Zaijan Jaranilla and Xyriel Manabat.

The cast ain't no small thing too. The best comedians from both channels are in this movie. You can expect a riot from Jose, Wally and Pokwang. The throwing of lines and antics will surely get you in a strain of laughter once the movie starts. Did you know Jose and Wally are named Phil and James? Yeah I know! The AZKALS must be jealous! LOL!

Bossing Vic Sotto was serious before the interview of Ms. Korina Sanchez in TV Patrol.
See how pretty she is up close? That's Bea Alonzo for you!

This film wouldn't be possible without the help of Ms. Malou Santos, the Head of ABSCBN Entertainment Group. This must be her pet project!

Bossing and Bea laughing it out while being interviewed live on TV Patrol on this snap shot.

This movie is all about Vic Sotto, a quack doctor that fell inlove with a real doctor played by Bea Alonzo. Zaijan Jaranilla (who played the role of an Angel) fell from heaven and made the miracles true. The story revolved around this but I wouldn't want to give away the details. That, and the great comedic cast... you should really watch this movie. You won't see anything like this happen in the near future because it is so hard to get people from different networks together. Make sure you buy tickets once it opens on April 23, 2011. Yes that is Black Saturday and this feel good movie will surely be a treat for the whole family!

The cast and director of Pak! Pak! My Doctor Kwak! Vic Sotto will surely make you laugh all throughout the movie as the Quack Doctor. Please watch it! I know I will! =)

This film is Directed by Tony Y. Reyes.

P.S.

I saw one of the greatest models in the Philippines interviewing them. Ms. Angel Aquino, please let me have you in one of my fashion shoots! Pushing my luck here! Ha-ha!

It's Holy Week!

Wednesday, March 31, 2010

Weird, I lost a post all of a sudden. I mean it was there yesterday and when I typed in something new for an entry it just disappeared. Sheesh! I think that is the most obnoxious thing I have ever done this week.

Well I think that was for my holy week entry. I think I can just re-discuss that =)

Aside from getting a break up just this last week (T_T) Haha but that's a different story! It's actually the start of the most NOT SO BUSY set of days in the Philippines. Holy week... it starts from people going out of town. Going to their hometowns. Them spending quiet prayerful times with their families. Visiting graves of their loved ones and saying a prayer or two for them. I think there are some things that they should stay away from. They need to know the true meaning of celebrating holy week. Some people need to understand why this is celebrated by us Roman Catholics in the Philippines.

1. Holy week is not VACATION week. It's not boracay or palawan week either... this is the time where we remember that Jesus died and some of us remember bikinis and merry making in the beach. Stop doing that okay?! How would you feel if people celebrated your funeral with a party as if they were glad you died?!

2. Don't act. Don't act as if you were all that holy. Don't go to churches and pray while shedding a tear for a few minutes. The acting won't work. Don't see celebrities?! They probably in Boracay too and you were designated as the budget conscious ones. No you are not cheap!

3. For the real people who go to church and spend time with their families, remember why we are spending a few days of grieving. Remember why we are doing these for a few days. Remember he died for our sins. Remember for each bludgeoned person who died on the cross, it was meant to wash away your own sins. Be grateful someone did it for you and be happy that it wasn't you on that cross okay?!

Thank God for all the nice things that are happening in your life. You owe it to him! Reflect on that!

Holy Week in the Philippines 2009

Tuesday, April 07, 2009

It's holy week again in the Philippines and that long week where most people have no work means almost nothing to me.... because I have to work at these times. It's okay though because after 5 years of having no absences at work, I pretty much am used to it.

People from the metro will flock back to their own provinces and security is tight in almost all ports. The new National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) Chief Roberto Rosales has even ordered the few thousand policemen to watch over people at these times. Which would mean no holiday for them too... I hope they really keep peace and order like what they are supposed to do. I heard over the radio, that Rosales tasked his District Director to assure that there will be visible police men on public terminals, ports, airports, malls, and vital installations. There should be no NIGAS COGON on visibility because as usual, they'll probably be there only when there are events like these. I hope they keep it that way so there would be lower crime rates.
They should also be working with local security groups and local barangay officials because most people would be leaving their houses. A neighborhood watch perhaps? That would be a miracle if that happened.

Although there are no security threats by unscrupulous groups, they should never let their guard down because it is highly possible that these extremists may get the chance and blow up people and places. I wouldn't wanna fall trapped with that.

I hope I can visit Pampanga and watch people crucified... or maybe just watch them from afar. I don't like blood baths anyway, it gives me the creeps. The picture above is just a normal march at these times... imagine after that, they will get crucified too. That would just hurt looking at it but hey it's a cultural thing so we don't have to be too freaky all year hehe.

Have a blessed holy week everyone!
