Dragon Lady will have a Filipino Chinese twist, so there will be sub stories in between the main characters. This is where Kristoffer, Bea Binene and Derrick Monasterio will come in.
Mainly it was appropriate to see them in one soap and it will be a cinch to have physical resemblance to their future selves. They have had a long wait to do this and acting maturity wise, it is different now.
Bea says “It was just a week before the shoot when I got the role. Artist Center told me how great the story is and we will be opening the show. This is easier because we didn’t have to gel anymore, they are my long time friends. They tell me to cry, I do it on the spot because it is easy to work with friends. I get more focused. They have distinct qualities I like,I can’t choose, they are good actors. I cannot think of a day without them. As friends, we have become matured. Now we talk about business and investments. The bed scene wasn’t too much, it is just a scene with skin. I had to turn my hair black again, I had to make arrangements because people will notice if I have hair color.”
Kristoffer Martin says “In Luna Blanca we were kinda playing, having fun, I always pull emotions from Bea. I didn’t have much scenes with Derek. Bea and I are so much of bestfriends, we do not even think of malice.”
Derrick Monasterio was pretty game and said “I do have malice when it comes to Bea, because she’s pretty and sexy. She always likes to get praised lol (he kids). When we were kids we didn’t think about things, we just wanted new things, new stuff, but now we think of the house, the bills, small things really didn’t matter anymore. “
So after watching the series this afternoon after Eat Bulaga, how did you like it?
Kristoffer Martin and GMA Records just released his new single called Paulit Ulit and it is available in digital stores worldwide. Yes I know, it's long overdue and honestly, with the way it's performing now on the charts, he deserves it. As soon as it became available, it got in to the viral top 50 charts of a known digital platform and this artist, was just elated. He told us how this single started.
Kris says “This composition is from GMA Records, it talks about loving someone and doing it over and over. It is overwhelming, I have been doing it in the past and I only had one single before this. The choice was made by me and as heard from my closest friends, they liked it because it resonates, it feels like puppy love, and it is super LSS so that’s good news. As far as genre and music is concerned, I don’t have one yet because it’s my first time to do this. I hope I could write and release singles of my own. I love OPM but I’m still looking for what I would do in the next few songs. I’ll try doing some songs with Mikoy Morales, hopefully OPM pop songs. I don’t know why it’s just now that I’m starting to sing more but I’m liking it. I am so happy that it is now part of Fight For My Way OST for the tagalized version. I would probably have something like Zayn Malik, The Weekend, of course I would like my hits to be on top of charts but I would appreciate it more if the people like it. I’d rate myself a 5 as a singer, I am just doing this to enjoy and feel good. The music video will probably come out this month. I was so happy to hear it be part of the top 50 viral songs on Spotify and hearing people say how many times they repeat it, is so good to hear. Oh finally I am also so happy to see San Beda to finally be a university. I am also looking forward to more shows soon, it’s still in the works so please let wait for my future projects.”
Here's a little sample of that song, pardon him as he was a bit under the weather when we interviewed him.
For those who would want to download the track, it's at digital stores already. He's a very prolific actor, been in many shows and is still just starting to discover a lot of things he's good at. He hopes you get to listen to it, and still watch the shows he's in.
I got to talk to this guy a little better during our time at the anti cyber bullying campaign in GMA. I wasn't really expecting much since they were already established celebrities and it might prove a little difficult for ordinary people like me to relate to them, but they proved me wrong because Kristoffer Martin and Joyce were so down to earth and very accomodating... they were a bit shy but overall that impression stayed. Kristoffer just celebrated his birthday this month and if you ask him, he wasn't as keen as celebrating it because most of his Novembers in the past were just a series of unfortunate events. He finds this month even tougher, but really appreciates his fans because they never miss an opportujity to surprise him on the day itself. They got his car filled with tons of stuff, pictures from his past, photos he found funny and awkward, plus tons of letters from them which he considers something that made him happy. He's currently part of the ensemble cast of Super Ma'am which stars Marian Rivera and happy to note that despite the challenges he's having in his life, he remained still blessed.
Kristoffer shares "I am really happy about what's happening in my career and Supermom. I work hard and workout for my role, and I spend a lot of time in the gym. That day when they surprised me I was really down and I told Joyce about it. We bought Jamba Juice and I saw them all waiting for me at my car, they filled it up with stuff and again I eas surprised to see these all. I haven't really read their letters because I was already happy, I read them when I'm sad because that's my happy pill, they are my happy pill. Thank you Cave for accommodating us for lunch, I hope to have more challenging projects and better health because I think I'm getting there."
Mary Grace the president of Kristoffer's Fans Club says "I am so elated whenever his birthday comes. He's the reason why I don't have a boyfriend now, and it's totally okay because I have a lot of sons and daughters in the group. Even if he's so busy we do this every year for him to at least surprise him. We want him to finish his studies, even if he has a lot of work we know he's going to make time for it. We gave him a Ferris Wheel because we want him to feel that we are here for him during ups and downs, that's what it means. In behalf of the group, Happy Birthday Tuns because we're always here for you. We hope you continue your success, your album, your single. Thank you for inspiring us, always!"
This guy is also planning his career ahead, so aside from more challenging roles he wants to do, he also wants to have several films and produce one if he finds the time next year. I find him under utilized but it seems he's quite content with the path that GMA Management is doing with his career, I think it's quite the premium that they put on this great actor which I think is the reason why they're very careful about the roles he's playing.
I'm sure he'll be getting accolades and interest from critics soon. I'm not just hopeful, I'm confident this nice man is going places because he cares about his craft and eager to do this. He's also planning to have his own business soon, so I think we just have to watch him succeed.
It was a great afternoon and recent Best Actor awardee Kristoffer Martin just celebrated his birthday with fans of their love team KrisJoy and his loyal supporters. He didn't know this was happening and as soon as he arrived at the venue, throngs of his fans suddenly bursted into a Happy Birthday song signifying his 22nd year in existence at the small karaoke shop in Timog Avenue in Quezon City. It was a setup courtesy of GMA Artist Center, his handler, and GMA's management. Tuns as called by his friends was extremely surprised and touched by the gesture of his fans and they've never missed to celebrate it with him since the very beginning. Every year, it was a hard task to even not let him know because the boy is smart, pretty smart to actually fool him that it was a meeting that he was supposed to go to. Here's what happened during the birthday party!
Aside from his fans, he treasured seeing Joyce Ching surprising him too that afternoon. She already gave her gift to Kristoffer a couple of days ago before this interview and they kinda wanted that to be personal, so we didn't talk about it that much. I think it was a letter, a heartfelt one and Tuns really treasured it. Here's our small chat with him together with the TV interview that might not have aired some of it. Enjoy!
I am so happy for you Kristoffer and what's happening with his career, again my apologies for asking you the wrong questions sometimes haha! But know that I love you two!
Having been able to do things in front of the cam might have been rewarding for artists but Kristofer Martin, Derrick Monasterio and TOP One Project has been doing the legwork since their respective careers started on GMA's stable.
Kristofer, is not a stranger to show business and started at an early age in the other channel. He's been awarded a few but this one from PMPC proved how he's worked hard these couple of months and how he wanted to hone his craft as an actor. He got the nod of the press club for his portrayal in a Magpakailan Man episode done a few months ago. You could feel how enormously eager he is to still learn despite winning this even if he's well rewarded and trusted with shows by GMA. I'm sure he'll have more accolades to his belt with ease and get a lot of attention with the KrisJoy pairing that's being given a title of #ExGoals at times they're seen on screen. I love Kris and Joyce so much, I was a little rude during the question and answer trying to get Kris to answer my questions, for that I have to apologize. But remember I love you two! Congratulations again on the Best Single Performance by an Actor Award!
Derrick Monasterio can no longer call himself a newbie as he's now the recipient of the New Male Recording Artist of the Year for 2016, also by PMPC. This good looking boy is an eye candy, has unbelievable charm that would sweep girls off their feet. He's also starring in the show Tsuperhero which you can watch every Sunday pre-primetime on GMA. His outlook on his career probably came true because of how he is VERY driven. I interviewed him about his singing in the past and this was one thing he would want to achieve, how fortunate could he be? He's blessed because I believe he's one of the most humble, very sincere guys who want to succeed in things he wants to do. I personally want him to do just that, and be blessed because he deserves it.
TOP One Project comprised of Adrian Pascual, Joshua Jacobe, Louie Pedroso, Mico Cruz and Miko Manguba has already done a successful concert at the Music Museum. Aside from that, they've got a brand new spanking album, a surprise music video and now they're being rewarded for it. They just got the Group of the Year Award from the same award giving body and it didn't come at the most opportune time because they've been supported sternly by the network, GMA Artist Center and the throngs of fans who believe in them. The boy band has already impressed a lot of people with their undeniable talent in singing, their choreography and knack to produce original music. They've also kept humble all these years and they're still improving, they're not done yet even if they already won an award mind you. That just signals there will be MORE things to come to these guys very soon!
Here's our interview with the guys over at GMA's blogcon a few weeks ago. Enjoy!
You've seen the pilot episode yesterday and now it's time to release some of the behind the scene photos of "Hahamakin ang Lahat" GMA's newest afternoon prime show. It starts at 3:30PM and ends 30-45 minutes after. The show also includes some really great actors, like Snooky Serna, rockstar Marc Abaya.
This is also Eula Valdez' comeback to GMA Network's stable. Plus there are some new kids that came from other GMA shows too.
This is also my favorite loveteam's return to the boob tube, Joyce Ching and Kristoffer Martin or what we call KrisJoy. Fans would love them all over again!
There's going to be small things in between, small things that people will find romantic, and a bit of melodrama.
Or even some things that are funny, crazy, because these two know how to make magic on screen.
And you can't miss the kissing scenes. Because they can.
And they might fall apart too. So you must follow the story.
Jett Pangan will also be there. Will he be in a relationship mishap too? We have to see that.
This is also Ariel Rivera's comeback to GMA's shows. He's going to make your eyes water, like he's always had in shows before. The man has got that settled.
Today marks the release of the ONE LOVE album. It's the charity project that's got a stellar cast plus some of GMA's most promising singers who all joined up for the benefit of GMA's Kapuso Foundation. It's actually the first of its kind and judging from the talent we've seen during the blog conference, they've really been able to make this a thing to watch out for. They did some of the songs and the carrier single called "Sa Puso Mo" (In Your Heart) stood out as it was sang by a couple of people from the label and the ensemble cast who participated in the album.
These ladies (Kath Castillo, Hannah Precillas, Kai Atienza) performed the song "Broken" which is more on the emotional side of things. They're the finalists and winners of Bet ng Bayan which is a show on the same network. They find this as an opportunity not just to showcase their talent but to also help in a cause that would help a LOT of people whether they're sick, in an emergency or just in need. They're also optimistic that this could spark plans for their individual careers.
I've seen Ralf King sing with us during the Christmas Party for bloggers last December, he's one of the unquestionable people who can sing a phonebook and still sound amazing. He's also good looking too and very down to earth. I didn't get to talk with him that much but I'm vouching for this guy. He's singing one of the singles "Para Lang Sayo" (Only for You) which I find quite nice, more of a ballad/rnb type of thing when he executes it.
Nar Cabico half hosted the event. I think he's being groomed to be in that post aside from singing. He's a good chap and promises the digital album will impress critics as the songs were tailor made for Valentines day.
Julian Trono as usualy was looking so good. He's doing a duet with Lindsay De Vera and I got so naughty that I had to tease them during the interview. I think I know Julian's not single but when brought with the idea Lindsay went ahead and Friendzoned the KPOP/PPOP singer.
Don't they look sweet? I know, but Lindsay says even though she would fall in love with someone like Julian she knows she treats him like a brother and friend. They've been together since Jollitown days and since they kinda grew up together Lindsay finds him in that category. Anyway I saw her smile as she was being teased, nothing wrong with that.
Lovely Yasmien Kurdi also sang super nice one of the songs. I missed her singing. Her last album was in 2007 and it was a hit so I was wondering why there wasn't a follow up after that. She quips she had to finish her studies and had to have time with family when she left the industry a few years back. We're not alone, but hopefully after this great showing on the charity album GMA Records would be able to make her another one since she's a very spirited singer. I can tell how impressed people were when she sang one of the songs in the ONE LOVE album. She hasn't lost that touch.
A good friend, James Wright implied how much he's so eager to help co GMA Record artists in this album. He say's "they're like family and I would do the same if I were in their position". He gave us a sample of his hit song "Sana'y Ikaw" which is part of the OST of Marian Rivera's show Carmela. He's one of the nicest people I've ever encountered in show business and hope that translates how people would perceive him and his songs. He still also has his self titled album out but hopes this charity album would make people unite, love one another, important for a great country like ours.
Other artists that are also in this album include Glaiza de Castro, Derrick Monasterio, Kristoffer Martin, Kylie Padilla, Ruru Madrid, Betong Sumaya, Gabbi Garcia, Maricris Garcia, Rita Daniela (whom I talked to in the elevator) and Denise Barbacena. If you love them, you'll love this project made by JU Entertainment of Korea and GMA Records. Here's some of the videos we took during the blog conference, enjoy their performances!
