Bacsi Bros Expands Operations at Ayala Malls Marikina

Saturday, July 27, 2019

They're growing, definitely growing.

It's a  great day for comfort food goodness and abs for days as we celebrate the opening of Bacsi Bros in Ayala Malls in Marikina City. This is different from Ayala Malls Feliz and is a two floor complex at the Liwasang Kalayaan area. It caters to residents and people from surrounding towns so they don't have to go to far cities just to go to an Ayala Mall.

The Bacsi Bros branch here is at the Food Choices area up at the second floor together with other pretty well known brands. But of course, we have to go to Bacsi Bros because who doesn't dream of hot heaping white rice, fluffy egg and strips of mouthwatering bacon.

It is as freshly cooked as you order so just look it up on the menu and owner endorser Tony Labrusca will offer you everything for 75 pesos. Extra egg and Cheddar Cheese will only cost you 15 bucks! Sounds good? Of course!

This BacsiBro has these soft fried smoky bacon, tons of liquidy melted cheese, a soft sunny side up egg on top of white rice. Ohhhh I could hear Homer Simpson's growling.

The Cornsibro though was perfect for breakfast. The corned beef was soft and a bit on the salty side, the runny egg envelopes everything including the rice, you could almost taste it in the photos.

The Hotsibro on the other hand is perfect for kids, kids who can tell. If you think about it, it's like an all day breakfast setup. Less the hassle of cooking.

Tocino lovers will rejoice over this Tocibros, remember that they cook this teppan style so you get that bits of crunchy edges on the meat and the egg they cook. There is also some margarine/butter in it so you get that flavor profile too. Ohh this was so good!

For those who want it beefy, try the Tapsibros. Strips of Tapa style beef fried over the griddle on top of sunny side up egg, and white rice. It ain't for the faint of heart indeed and is real comfort food. You should enjoy this with friends and family.

They also are launching a new item on their menu which are all wraps. I tried the Bacsi Wrap earlier and it was almost full to the brim, reminiscent of breakfast burritos in the US. It's quite huge and filling, pretty much an equivalent of the rice meals, so go get the Cornsi Wraps, Hotsi Wrap, or Tapsi Wrap if you love Bacsi Bros. Oh and before I forget, they also have Chiksi Bro and Porksi Bro for 99 if you have an even larger appetite.

Oh and today, he's actually here in Ayala Malls Marikina Branch, of course it went crazy!

A Meaty Holiday Season with CDO Premium

Sunday, October 30, 2016

It is certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas! My neighbors already have put up their trees, lashed out all the ornaments and took out their long lines of Christmas lights. Filipinos are known to celebrate the longest Christmas season that starts as early as September. I can't blame them though, it just puts all of us in a good mood.

Well I felt that way a couple of days ago when a whole bag full of CDO Premium meat products arrived in my doorstep. Let's just say I didn't know who sent it, I think I just received a phone call while they were delivering it and when I thanked them through the number, it turns out I was talking to a delivery guy and not the one who sent it LOL. So in a nutshell, this is like a mystery basket. What's good though is that I absolutely LOVE CDO. Although I have to tell you, this is the first time I'm trying CDO Premium. So what's the difference?

The packaging looks so nice. One look at it and you think it's expensive but if you think about it, the imported brands cost even twice or thrice of what this is. For the quality of meat you're getting, it's substantially at par, I could tell they did take their time to create these lovely products to cater to a more pricey market. They still have the affordable ones which I have right now in my freezer but for those who want an even BETTER experience for hams, hotdogs and meat products, dish out a bit more and you'll get the PREMIUM line which I tried. Now I cooked these in different days for breakfast and dinner (because I cover events in the aftie). I took my time savoring each of the items because I know even if they stay in the freezer, they'll still taste good a few days after.

The CDO Premium Uncured Bacon was super good. This was my favorite among the things that were sent to me. I lightly fried it on a skillet with olive oil and did it just enough to have some caramelization on the edges. I could imagine people having garlic rice on the side or just have this with rye bread and a sunny side up egg for the PERFECT breakfast! This one however does not have nitrites or nitrates (which are still being connected to cancer) so if you're a health freak, you don't need to worry at all!

The CDO Premium Young Pork Tocino was my Mom's favorite. It's not overly sweet, just right. Perfect for a cup of white rice in the morning. I like the fact that this doesn't have artificial colors, and salitre. They use young pork for this so it would still be soft even after cooking. Makes sense.

I know it's almost Christmas but if you still won't be getting those huge hams from CDO, you can settle for several slices of it with the CDO Premium Classic Ham. I admit, I had this all to myself for dinner with a toasted bread. It was a perfect way to cheer me up after getting bruised from the hassles of commute and traffic. It's also gluten free and has no MSG, health freaks and allergic people should rejoice!

Kids would love the Super Jumbo CDO Premium Hotdogs. It's got that lovely meaty exterior that's so good to the bite. You can also have this with your favorite Filipino spaghetti, or just about any lunch box for school or office. They also had the salt lowered by 40% so if you are a little icky with it, this is your healthier alternative. It's got 0% trans fat too, no need to worry about having a belly later on.

I am going to make CDO Premium Meat products now a mainstay on my freezer and grocery list. It's all available now on your favorite supermarkets, grocery stores and meat stalls. It just takes a few minutes to cook and tastes great. You get premium products without paying too much for it, because CDO products are always priced right, they don't make a fool out of you unlike some brands I know.

It's time to eat!

Greenwich Launches Bacon Crispy Thins

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

We're in Greenwich BGC Stopover today to get schooled on Bacon today! Chef Ed Bugia taught us thay early Chinese actually invented it but used largely to preserve meat. Salt takes out the moisture and smoke brings in the flavor.

They showed us many ways to actually use bacon, one pf which is Bacon Deviled Eggs! Then since we're also talking about Canada that afternoon, they also served Cream Cheese and Bacon Poutine with Caramelized Onions, Apples and Chives, plus Baked Potato and Cream Cheese Soup for the love of everything Bacon! But that's not all! I was excited because Greenwich is going all the way by launching a one of a kind pizza flavor called Greenwich Bacon Crispy Thins!

Awww it was so Bacony if there's a word for it. You can taste the smoky, salty, sweet and savory notes, plus the cheese too! We all need bacon in our lives!

There's now a ton of reasons to go to Greenwich the next time you crave for pizza! Make sure you order the Bacon Cripsy Thins on your next visit because honestly, bacon is good reason to go back. Plus the chicken, plust the lasagna and pasta! Haha!

If you don't want to go out, there's always 55555 so you don't have to drive outside! Any other reasons guys? :P

Hangry No More After Kanguru

Sunday, March 06, 2016

Made arrangements to stay a few days in Golden Phoenix Hotel in Pasay City. It's so awesome to be only a few meters away from the Mall of Asia Arena so after we watched "TNT's Super Panalo Day" starring AlDub, Robin Padilla, the whole TNT Team and other stars, it was so easy to go back to the hotel and relax with my Mom.

We were waiting the whole afternoon and taking naps in between... until I got a bit HAngry. HAngry is the term of getting a little annoyed because you're hungry. Well actually, I was about too until I remembered to use an app on my phone called KANGURU. They're a food delivery service. Right now, they've got a couple or more restaurants in Makati/BGC area on their app to choose from. I had my eyes on one that's called Lazy Bastard. I think I've passed by their restaurant a couple of months ago in Jupiter street and didn't go there as I had an event nearby. I smelled grease from the road so I'm thinking this hole in the wall place must be good ha-ha! Anyway, I saw their prices on the app and theirs was I think "the cheapest". I'm a man and I need my burger fix so I ordered two of their Bacon Cheeseburgers, Onion Rings, a Fat Salad Dog and a Honey Parmesan Dog (don't judge). This was gonna be our merienda and Dinner that day so I ordered at around 4 PM. Golden Phoenix Hotel was in Pasay City so if ever they're going to take a longer time delivering that I'd really understand.

I think I did a pretty good job on actually ordering as it actually amounted to exactly Php 1000. If you think about it, that's like 4 meals for 4 people so in a nutshell, that's already cheap for something that would come from a restaurant right? Now I'm hungry as a bear at this point so I'd really appreciate it if the food was delivered promptly. The premise is, if I was near the Makati and BGC area too they'd guarantee that my food will be delivered in an hour or less. Since I'm in Pasay City (near MOA Arena) I was totally okay if they took a little longer than usual to deliver it.

After placing the order, paying for it using Cash (specify if you need change for a larger bill), I got a call from their contact center, a text from their office plus an email confirmation which includes all the details of my order. I had all of that on the app already but it was nice that some person was taking care of you while you wait for your order. That's a personal touch, which is good in my books. Aside from that, I wrote in the last portion of the checkout section the address to the hotel so they didn't have to ask me when they called on my Smart phone. They also have credit card and Paypal options which bloggers like me or any online worker would love. Technology at it's finest!

I waited for around an hour, and got a text message on my phone saying that the Kanguru rider was already in the lobby. That was fast. And when I got to the lobby, this young man smiled and thanked me for ordering through Kanguru. I think he was very professional. You don't really get these kind of things anymore in ordering food so it was a breeze. I was very hungry though so right after the photo op (I asked permission from Kuya Driver), I carried the bag with the Lazy Bastard burgers, hotdogs and onion rings up to our floor because I was already HANGRY.

I was surprised at the quality of burgers and hotdogs that they have as it was surprisingly VERY GOOD. I'm tempted to order again very soon but might order from a different restaurant next time because I love variety. Mum also said I should cut down on protein (oh yes she touched on that subject) but I digress, I'll do it again. I love burgers and it satisfied me, the Onion Rings was also LARGE cut which I may say was one of the best I've ever had. So the HANGRY became SATISFIED in a matter of minutes. Everything was seasoned well, priced fairly and delivered promptly. If I could do something else, I would have ordered way earlier and had it scheduled on the app (Oh yes they have that!). Now that's special!

Will I order again through Kanguru? YES, I'm planning to do that tomorrow and I can't wait to have those scrumptious burgers again. Oh and the onion rings too! So, shall we?

Greenwich Creamy Carbonara Pasta and "PinyaExagge" Hawaiian Overload Pizza!

Monday, February 24, 2014

Celebrating delicious friendship in my home calls for only one thing, that's pizza and pasta that's got the Greenwich brand on the box! Just this weekend, I had one of the most interesting surprise in the form of their new products; and its accompaniment of an explosion of superior flavors. One is the new Greenwich Hawaiian Overload Pizza and the other is their Creamy Carbonara Pasta!

The Greenwich Hawaiian Overload Pizza is a Hawaiian Pizza lovers dream! This one's got tons and tons and tons of sweet, tangy and juicy pineapples, an overwhelming layer of cheddar and mouth watering mozzarella cheese, mildly spiced ham, meat bits and fresh, crunchy bell peppers that everyone loves! I had to make sure I save some for other family members because I almost ate it all!

You might think this is like the ordinary Hawaiian Pizza you usually get but NO. It's OVERLOADED with the best ingredients and you can only get it when you dial 55555 in Metro Manila or by visiting their stores nationwide!

As if it wasn't enough, they also had me wishing for more because they paired it up with Greenwich's Creamy Carbonara Pasta!
It's comfort food at it's finest form. Think of al dente spaghetti with thick, rich cream, and bits of bacon plus a layer or more of grated sharp parmesan cheese all over! I could just imagine you drooling over that at only P 79.00. If you are imagining a perfect weekend, they threw in a Home Alone 3 DVD for me so I did the best thing and sat down seriously and get myself plan a mission of my own while in the comforts of my living room. If that isn't a well rested day, I don't know what is.

For the best pizza, pasta, and a happy tummy you can head over www.greenwich.com.ph to check out their stores near you. Best of all, the Greenwich Hawaiian Overload pizza is sold for P 99.00 in its solo size. That's a quick bite done right. Word of warning though, it is highly addictive and will make you ask for more. Make sure you consume it immediately when you get it (because it's cream remember?) or if you plan to save it for later, refrigerate it. Baddabing, baddaboom!
