5 Reasons To Watch BuyBust

Wednesday, August 01, 2018

You've all heard it from people who had one way or the other have watched BuyBust - from advanced screenings or the premier night. Imagine how much time, blood, sweat and tears have gone into making this movie starring an ensemble case and Showtime mainstay Anne Curtis. Today, August 1 is it's official public release. Before that, let me share a couple of things you would need to know before watching the film.

1. YOU ARE THIRSTY - The only action flick most pinoys probably are having right now is that Coco Martin show on TV. Making action films cost a lot. This one costs 1.6 Million US Dollars (at least according to their side comments during the presscon). Most of the money went to building the set, marketing and putting this on a Hollywood fit. This is going to be shown also in other countries.

2. IT HAS FLAWS - It’s not a perfect movie, you still see new paint and construction even from the back row. It’s dirt and grime that actually make this feel realistic. The movie is tiring, you’ll be at the edge of your seats sometimes, but this makes it all exciting. You’ll be in one situation, then the next, then another, and that makes you feel the rush. It will make you feel involved while they shoot guns, fight, throw bombs at each other and be ultra claustrophobic.

3. BRANDON VERA - This guy is one of the reasons you should watch this film. He’s hard as a rock, you’ll feel every kick he does in this movie (especially that woman he kicked through the side). Although there were a few “should have been shot again moments” like the tight place where he should have been throwing punches with women (but he ends up just swishing them all), he was just too big for everyone. I love when he means to really kick and punch people, it bleeds authenticity. It's like seeing a whole log hitting the little old frail body of a woman, not even joking.

4. ANNE CURTIS - Truth be told I was skeptic with her doing the action scenes, but this woman really delivered. There may be sequences where you may feel she just needed to do more, but think about it, she’s a lady doing action scenes which isn’t a norm in the Philippines. If this is a start for her, I would want to see her do more of this very very soon. She’s damn pretty in close ups, and outstanding in much of the choreographed stuff so don’t blink when she’s hopping from one roof to the other.

Erik Matti says "We didn't know how to actually finish this film in February but we did. When the rights to the film was bought in the US we just had to finish it, and I am thankful we finished this masterpiece. I think we wouldn't have finished this if we didn't get someone as physical as Anne, because of her stamina she can run, climb up, fall off of it, it's not easy but this is by far the most difficult one to shoot just for Anne but imagine the others under the rain everyday. Working with Viva and Reality Entertainment, I got what I want and have the trust of my actors. I rewrote the film as we were doing it, it was fun and they knew why they had to do it. We had no divas, we have Marawi soldiers also in the film, so we are honoring them."

Anne Curtis says "It took us to finish 57 shots to do a three minute scene, we had to rehearse 5 days before that. I never thought of even quitting, I was frustrated to do scenes because they get delayed with their moves. I went to showtime with bruises and wounds, I also got punched in the face by a man. I didn't want to cry, even without the camera, I cried later on though I had so much fun. Erwan took care of me when I went home, he saw how much effort I put in on this. This took two years of our lives to shoot, we brought our best to the table every day. I hope people would get to see that."

Arjo Atayde says "My role here is a secret, it's a supporting role (Erik Matti interjects and says you wouldn't know when he's there and you'll see that happen)."

5. THEY OVERDELIVER - You want action, they give you action, a rollercoaster of emotions, liters upon liters of blood (hence the R16 rating), tons of gun powder, drama, oh and ALEX CALLEJA.

Wooh! I survived without telling you a spoiler! Now go to your favorite movie house and watch BUYBUST. Worth every penny to at least make you excited over a Filipino film, it’s been ages.

Trust me on ALEX CALLEJA.

Tuesday, December 15, 2015

Popular online buy and sell website OLX just launched their new project called The OLX Christmas PossibiliTree at the Gateway Mall Cineplex today. The concept is simple, you just have to buy items from the OLX tree which contains good quality second hand items inside!

Like this painting of a flower which only costs Php 800 or that Nexus phone which only costs Php 1,000.

Or this remote control car that only costs Php 700.

Php 2,500 for this Herschel Bag or Php 350 for the fancy wallet.

I'm already planning to but this Danbo from Amazon Japan. It's cheap at Php 1,000!

This DJ equipment from Pioneer costs Php 20,000 only.

Or you can buy the PS3 for only Php 7,000.

All the proceeds will be given to Save the Children Foundation that helps kids go to school and find a home. You can also donate some of your preloved items at home if you want to help their cause. I'm planning to actually do that today!

Visit them today at the Gateway Mall Cineplex right beside Cinema 1 of Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City. You can have that win-win feeling that people experience in OLX. You can buy, you can donate items, be an ambassador (so tell your friends!) or donate cash donations and it will go to the cause. It will be here until January 15, 2016 so hurry!

What Is Your Dream Home? : Lamudi and MyProperty.ph

Saturday, September 12, 2015

Jacqueline van den Ende the Founder and Managing Director of Lamudi Philippines and Henry Winter the General Manager of MyProperty.ph

Had the chance to attend a movie screening courtesy of our friends from Lamudi and MyProperty.ph. They're the biggest and most trusted web based property and real estate finder in the Philippines. We met their executives Jacqueline van den Ende the Founder and Managing Director of Lamudi Philippines and Henry Winter the General Manager of MyProperty.ph and told us a little bit about how they started and how the once small startup company expanded to what it is today.

Both companies are part of Rocket Internet which is a German Internet company based in Berlin. This includes popular sites such as Foodpanda, HelloFresh, Home24, Jumia, Jovago, Lazada and online shopping giant Zalora. Lamudi also #3 player MyProperty.ph so they can gain a larger market share and position. They also know how large the potential of real estate is in this part of the world and the value is no joke, it's 48 Billion dollars in revenue, and about 2 Billion dollars of it will be in marketing spend alone. It's not saturated because they allot about 5% of it to online advertising which means there's tons of room to grow. If you think about it, people are looking for properties not on usual media these days and opt for photos and videos online using desktops, tablets, and mobile smartphones. It's a massive business opportunity and you'll get results quicker if you're an agent or broker. You'll find the perfect house, the perfect condo, the perfect apartment, the perfect place at your preferred price point, why wouldn't you love Lamudi and MyProperty.ph?

What's also assuring is that they have this huge database of properties and run analysis on them using proprietary platform called SimilarWeb. They've got pricing, amount per square meter, in some of the largest cities and towns in the Philippines. They use large data efficiently and give you the information you need when getting a property. Do you know they already have amassed about 34% higher site visits this 2015 compared to the whole 2014 data last year? Aside from that, they can hook you up with partner banks so you can get the best deal with mortgage, refinancing and restructuring of loans. They even publish magazines so people in the most populated places, coffee shops and establishments get the latest listings and make you informed.

Lamudi and MyProperty.ph is going to continually use the massive online listings data so they can generate reports for Filipino home buyers and property investors. This is just the start. They also have the Lamudi Philippines App on the App Store and Google Play store for those who would want to use it on mobile. With the high mobile penetration, there will be thousands more that will see properties listed on the site, which means it will definitely be good for brokers, agents and buyers alike. All you have to do now is visit http://www.lamudi.com.ph or http://www.MyProperty.ph and ask yourself, what is your dream home?

Shopping for Men's Fashion Made Easy at Lamido

Tuesday, September 30, 2014

Screenshot of Online Shop heaven http://www.lamido.com.ph/ (image not mine)

Christmas season in the Philippines started in the BER months. That starts when the month's name ends in BER that is. With the rate we're going, we're way behind schedule and we haven't been able to shop as much as we wanted. Now think about the amount of people that you haven't given any gifts during last year's holiday and you'll probably be a little sad because 1.) You may not have much time to shop 2.) Malls are too far 3.) You don't like walking around all day and still couldn't find that perfect little gift for your special someone/the one you love. It's a dilemma I know, but it's probably solvable. How? Easy, have you tried shopping online? If not, then maybe the Lamido buy and sell site interest you. They are a part of the Lazada group known for the biggest online retail stores here and around the world.

It's not easy picking a gift for a guy like me. I am so involved in fashion for men that I might discriminate a little when it comes to clothing, shoes or accessories. Hard to please? Yes I am, but if I shop I already know what to choose as soon as I get to a store and I see it. Women on the other hand would be an entirely different case. They roam around, pick one up, try it on, take it off, try another one on, spin around and return the merchandise. Somehow, I don't remember an easy breezy day in the mall when I have to accompany ladies I know there. Now, when they want to do that they would be able to do it right in the comfort of their own homes. You give them the choice, they pick the color and sizes and voila! You can have it delivered right to your doorstep, some even for free!

The best thing is, you don't have to go out and drive for that. You save on gas, you save on dining out, you save on the trip and you don't waste time spinning around the mall like a gopher who's lost his own hole. That's great technique right there which you can smash outside the ballpark, give yourself a pat on the back then say "I did good today!".

Oh and if you're still looking for more ways to shop, your Android phone might come handy. Get it from the Google Play store in this URL: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lamido.android&hl=en. You'll thank me afterwards! By the way, I already found a couple of watches that would fit me quite nicely, if you want to buy me one I won't stop you! Ha!

Living the Life in Makati: Avida Asten

Friday, September 20, 2013

Wherever you are in Makati, it's all prime lot. Whether you are in the residential area or right along the artsy fartsy Malugay district, you are bound to see this structure towering over the landscape. If you are a junior executive looking for a great place to stay near the business center of Makati, you should definitely check out Avida Asten.

Now that you've seen that, I guess I don't have to convince you no more. Fact is, it's near everything you need. They've also got a Tower II in the works which would probably one of the few things you should ask for if you're not in a hurry to get one and plans of investment.

We went to their official launch a few days ago and it was nice. They've got a few projects already up and this was just the right thing at the right time to shoppers passing by the posh Greenbelt 5. If they're serious about purchasing their first home, nothing beats location, proximity to everything in the community and transportation in this part of town other than Avida Asten.

Even the host agrees.

They even got fashion, art installations put up on site to see a glimpse of what its like to live in a place like Avida Asten. I guess no jaded guy would probably regret getting a place of his own in this part of the city. Then they were ready to unveil the look of Avida Asten.

Then they announced that they'll probably have 32 more projects planned and ready to sell out this year. Now who told you the country's in a slump when we're obviously booming in the real estate and construction sector. Mind you this is just the tip of the iceberg. If you're interested, they can plan out what terms you wish to have these condominium units.

Just Tower 1 alone would actually mean 644 residential units which comprise of Studio units, some also come in  1 Bed Room, 2 Bed Room, 2 Bed Room loft unit, and 3 Bed Room loft units that's perfect for a family. Unit Size Ranges from 23 square meters up to 115 square meters. Price ranges from Php 2.3M - 12.8M.

Who knows, you can probably break a good deal with them too! Maybe it's right for you!

PS

I've got a friend who can get you the best rates possible

Ajie Hilario

You can contact him directly at 0917 8463858. Let him know you read it from here! =)

The Best Auto Deals at PinoyAutoTrader.com.ph x Sulit.com.ph!

Monday, July 08, 2013

The country's best auto trading website and the country's leading retail listing portal has now converged to bring you the best experience possible on Philippine shores as they bring both their services on the table and get you one of the most prolific automobile commerce solutions and synergies ever found in this nation.

We were welcomed by these lovely ladies from http://www.pinoyautotrader.com.ph. They have been acquired by Sulit.com recently and this is the first time I've heard that an acquisition of another portal has been made locally. That in itself is a feat.

Pinoy Auto Trader has been able to gain its audience through a simple need. Based in Samar, these entrepreneurs didn't have any place to get their own car when they settled there. This need made them think of this project and got so many establishments work with them in the long run. Now, the website has been able to hold a great amount of Brand New and Used Cars in it's database and has been regarded as the go to place for any meticulous buyer. Their site is very engaging, they give in depth reviews of cars they sell through C Magazine; which is unprecedented in the Philippines. Their services and site features are so good and it holds a lot of promise. This is one of the reasons why Sulit.com has made an effort to do this, and now made it even better.

Sulit.com has majority of its traffic already garnered on Autos and they see the need for a more in depth solution so their consumers get the best experience bar none. This launch had one thing amazing announced, which they have been so excited to tell us all. If you place an ad at PinoyAutoTrader, it will now automatically appear in Sulit.com. This is a win win situation for the Filipino consumer. Traders will get high visibility in Sulit.com, whilst the buyer will get more than enough information to purchase their cars over at PinoyAutoTrader.com.ph. With these two working together to deliver the best features of both their websites, it will surely be something big to get that dream car you always wished for. It surely is exciting news for bachelors like me who would like to get a new one anytime soon.

Best of all, these are all managed by online experts and managers so each deal is as personal as ever. You get to have the best choice and your money's worth. It's something that a lot of Filipinos would surely benefit from. So come on and visit PinoyAutoTrader.com.ph and Sulit.com and get that 4 wheeled dream of yours into reality!
