Sykes Grand Year End Party

Saturday, January 02, 2016

My sister works for Sykes and I don't, let's get that out there. I don't know much about the company but I've heard good things about them. Especially the guys from my old company who transferred there for greener pasture and professional growth. They've been working hard, and every year Sykes makes it a point that Sykesers (as they call em) get a little bit of reward. A little in the tune of Php 2 Million worth of prizes.

This happened last December and they dubbed it “SYKES FUTURE FORWARD: The SYKES 2015 Year-End Celebration”. Since they were on the futuristic side of things, they got all 5,000 Manila based employees to play dress up at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. They also raffled off prizes like a 32 inch Samsung LED TV, Ipad Mini 3, Mac Book Air, FujiFilm Instax Mini 8, an iPhone 6, Go Pro, and the latest Samsung smartphones. Since that is small (oh yes I kid), they took the liberty of having their main man VP and Country Manager Dean Van Ormer to give away the grand prize of Php 150,000 plus 2 more Php100,000 winners just because they liked it. That's one of the things they did to make them happy since they've worked so hard this 2015.

They also had fun with employees strutting out their stuff, holding a competition to see who the best company based dance group is. The winner declared was "True Sight of the Kaleidoscope". They also didn't forget to award Rich Dingding (Male Category) and Gemma de Lima (Female Category) for the garb they wore as they declared the most "Fashion Forward".

The work life balance they want each Sykes employee to have looks but a reality. They also rewarded “SYKESClista”, an employee based organization as “SYKES Choices Club” awardee for 2015. They have a lot and not many BPO offices have that. I'm sure some of you can tell, and it is essential to make the employees happy. If that ain't enough, they threw in Parokya Ni Edgar and had the greatest concert of their lives in the venue. That's just fun! Now I want to be with Sykes. Can they take me in? LOL!

Congratulations Sykes and your 13,000 employees, you did good!

Discovery Suites: Cirque Du Noel

Monday, December 07, 2015

Discovery Suites in Ortigas just lit up their Christmas Tree and it was awesome! They also put up a small Gingerbread house in the lobby where you can purchase small gifts, trinkets to take home. They call it Cirque Du Noel, but they did this with one thing in mind... to help the Chosen Children Foundation. It's an organization geared towards helping mental and physically challenged children. They've been helping them since 2013 and this is to continue that great tradition.

Discovery Suites: Cirque Du Noel by kumagcow

Aside from the generous donation for the foundation, they're also offering something good at 22 Prime, Discovery Suites premier steak house. It's a 4 course meal that's got Double Smoked Bacon Turkey Roulade and USDA Angus Prime Rib Eye which only costs Php 2,000 nett. It's available from the 16th of December to January 1, 2016. You can reserve and dine from 12:30 PM to 10:30 PM. Aside from that, you have celebrate Christmas in the hotel and get Prime Rib Eye and Holiday Turkey with a selection of pastries for dessert for only Php 2,300 nett. Make sure you also ask about their holiday room rates that start at Php 5,000 nett for a Junior Suite which includes breakfast buffet for 2. You can have this booked from December 1-30 up until January 31, 2016.

Check out what we had for dinner!

House bread, still hot and fresh from the oven!

They had Lobster Bisque but I was allergic to seafood so they prepared for me Asparagus Cream Soup, thank you for that!

This is an original, it's called Camille Collins and made especially for 22 Prime. It's a bit gingery, a light drink.

Caesar Salad complete with runny boiled egg, crisp lettuce and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese

I had to do it 4 times for emphasis, this is my memory of the USDA Angus Prime Rib Eye done medium rare. I actually like my steaks this way but if you prefer it well done, you can ask them to do that.

To cap it off, we had their Discovery Signature Dessert. It's a sampler of some sort and I love the variety. I'd suggest you have this shared though, with a loved one or your friends. It's that good.

Call  and reserve Discovery Suites Ortigas at 719-8888 or email them at rsvn@discovery.com.ph. To know more, you may visit http://www.discoverysuites.com.

Makati Celebrates CARACOL FESTIVAL 2013!

Saturday, March 02, 2013

The Philippines has been known to celebrate festivals in each calendar day but I seldom see one near my place. At the awesome, high end place called CIRCUIT in Makati we were treated to a fair like no other. I've been hearing about this for the longest time. This is my first experience of how it is to see the CARACOL FESTIVAL 2013. This ought to be a great day!

The CARACOL FESTIVAL was named after a local freshwater shell fish called "kuhol" and they wanted to have the celebration to be something like a "protection to the hardships of life". They also want this to be the local mardi gras right at the heart of business center Makati City. Performers would come as representing their Hotels, Restaurants, Offices, Barangays, Schools and Government Sectors. Makati City alone has 33 barangays so just imagine how massive this celebrations are going to be!

This local government marching band provided music both for the parade and for some of the performances. Then they went back to work making security was enough for that huge venue.

Cheers to 2013!

Year 2012 seemed so special to me... so I am expecting a lot more this 2013!

My brother is in town. Ireland was probably too cold for him so he spent Christmas and New Year here. First in his list is to clean the house. He wants to throw away everything though. Hopefully I can get to keep what I'm wearing now LOL.

We got reservations in Makati Shangrila. I didn't think it was the ideal place to be in but if he's happy with it so am I. My folks loved it too so that's a good thing. I also got some shots in Ayala through my window.

I will not succumb to people that are trying to bring me down. We deserve to be happy, so let's do just that shall we? =)

Thanks for the wonderful 2012! Let's look forward to a brighter, better 2013! Cheers!

An Easy, Fun Filled Galactic Easter at Marriott Hotel Manila!

Friday, March 30, 2012

There are several things that I need to do in order to celebrate Easter with kids this season. Wake up, wash my face, take tons of time in the market, prepare everything first, then cook. After that you need to also take time and paint all the eggs you need to hide from these smart ones then let them feast and celebrate the coming of Christ into this world. That entails thousands of pesos, plus labor and time that I don't really have. It's a good thing there are several establishments who are already aware of this problem and make necessary arrangements to make that one day for the kids very special.

At Marriott Hotel Manila there is a Big Bang Stay package for only P10, 980 net and this includes two tickets to the Lost in Space Easter Party and Game Zoo credits at the Newport Mall. This promo runs from April 1 to 10 with minimum two nights stay. Or you can opt for the great Easter Party for only P500 (kid) and P1, 000 (adult) entrance fees. This event has been packed since 2010 and it'll be even bigger this year! There will be games, prizes and surprises awaiting those who want to avail of these promos. World class Executive Chef Meik Brammer has prepared a spectacular menu to the delight of kids and their families. They will also take home lots of goodies from Marriott and different vendors so you're surely get your money's worth and MORE! Or if you prefer a more intimate setting, you can avail of the Marriott Cafe experience for only 2,500 pesos inclusive of one Lost in Space Easter party ticket. Their brunch buffet is quite a grand spread and you'll choose between fourteen different food stations so you know your degustation is just starting!

Need I say more? Make sure you call Marriott Hotels Manila and reserve a spot on their highly awaited Easter Party, it's the best advice I could give you this lent.

Coca-Cola's 100 Years Celebration: Concert ng Bayan!

Saturday, March 24, 2012

I am happy. I had so much fun!

I guess that's a statement that puts everything into words. But really, there are no words to describe how much I loved what happened last night as Coca-Cola celebrated their 100 years with a huge celebration at the Mall of Asia Concert Grounds. They dubbed it as CONCERT NG BAYAN and what joyous way to celebrate it by giving everyone FREE ACCESS to this huge concert. Yes you heard that right, Coca-Cola's picked up the tab and made this one historical night as the combined bands, concert performers, celebrities and one International artist to start the HAPPINESS they promised the nation.

How to celebrate 100 Years this good?!

DSC_0011

Start off with talking with the one and only CRAIG DAVID. Yes they did bring him here. His performance that evening was phenomenal that we just stared at him starstruck! Thank you Coca-Cola for making one of my dreams come true right at the beginning!

DSC_0017

Celebrate the afternoon with THE people you see each afternoon. Jose and Wally made us realize they too are living their dream. To be in a venue that can hold a few hundred thousand people and making them laugh, it was surreal. This is just the start!

DSC_0019

Caloy the President for Happiness was there to start the event. If you heard the girls scream when he went in you'll break your eardrums. He's a nice lad too. He's perfect for this role. You just know how nervous he was initially then got more excited as the program commenced. Jose said they look so similar hehe.

DSC_0027

Kian and Ebe Dancel in one stage. If you dream about it, it will happen. You just don't know how happy people were just seeing them on stage, let alone perform together. This evening was surreal!

DSC_0033

Girls say he's HOT and Guys says he's amazing! Kian rocked the house to start of the celebration. He was really a great performer.Good looking too!

DSC_0037

I wasn't a fan of Gloc9 before. But after this day, I was SO MUCH OF A FAN. His performance was AWESOME and I couldn't believe someone could talk and rap at 100KM/HR LOL. It was but right to also admire him that evening. I love the performance of his protege too. The lovely song they did plus the whole concert experience was unbelievable!

DSC_0042

Once a part of my rock gods eraserheads, he now heads the band SANDWICH. Classy and entirely artistic, he didn't disappoint anyone! The songs, the persona, it was all complete! I also love SANDWICH with COKE just so you know. =)

DSC_0053

One of the many surprises that evening is Jay Durias. He even sang a Side A song with them. It was gorgeous!

DSC_0083

DSC_0068

6-Cycle Mind performed with Eunice & Kleggy. It was really an evening of new discoveries. Eunice was hot. Eunice was good! Kleggy was a character and he did make us all laugh!

DSC_0088

Another one of my rock gods WOLFGANG was there. Basti Artadi was a dream for me. He was so INTENSE. Their performance was one I could not forget!

DSC_0111

Now imagine my perfect dream, then add Gloc9 to the mix. Now that is something only dreams are made of. My jaw dropped when I heard these two guys sing and rap ROCK.

Align CenterDSC_0119

This was the first time I saw him perform. I immediately became a fan after the first one. The second song on his set reminded me so much of the time I listened to them before, I was trying to find out who they were and this just answered my question. Asiong Salonga anyone?

DSC_0151

DSC_0164

DSC_0158

Three words. Parokya ni Edgar. GRABE I couldn't hold myself down. I was partying and screaming with the crowd when I was supposed to only take photos. IBA... they really perform differently and they can work out the CROWD! It was a party waiting to happen!

DSC_0186

Hosting the latter part of the evening was comeback king Robbie Domingo. He was a hit with the girls... guys envy him. More so because he just graduated a few hours before this concert. Congratulations Rob!

DSC_0193

Gino and Caloy also went back on stage. It was good looking all over again that evening. I hope I'm included in that list too LOL!

DSC_0194

You probably saw him already in my site, yes he was there too! SOMEDAYDREAM provided electronic pop and partied with the happy people! This must have been one great dream for them too to perform in the Mall of Asia grounds! Coca-Cola really hooked us all up!

DSC_0221

Princess of Pop Sarah Geronimo did BEYONCE and even Whitney Houston that evening. It was my first time to see her perform. Hands down, she is one of the greatest live performers I have ever seen. I didn't know she could dance that well, let alone belt out the best songs this country could ever handle!

DSC_0254

I just don't know how she handles the screaming crowd when they shout her name. I don't know how she could concentrate. Sarah, I am a fan now. =) *adding you now on twitter too!

How good? I love you so I'm treating you!

DSC_0256

I ended my evening with Gary V on stage. His son Gab also joined in after a few songs and danced it out with his Dad. Gary has been with Coca-Cola for ages, he literally grew up with it. We are no different.

Coca-cola just made our dreams come true. Thank you so much Coca-Cola for heeding everyone's request. We had the HAPPINESS you promised afterwards! THANK YOU!

/* I went home around 12AM and the party just went on til the early morning. You really know how to make people happy Coca-Cola! I adore you!
