For those who haven't been hooked up yet on this phenomenal hit TV series on ABS CBN, you are missing a lot! A Beautiful Affair stars John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo and John Estrada who can't even manage to save themselves from all the hurt and suffering; because John Lloyd wants Bea, Bea wants John Lloyd but decides to marry John Estrada who gets mad at John Lloyd because he's the one Bea wants in the heart gripping series shown on the primetime slot of ABSCBN. Did I confuse you? Well for starters, their lives are really that complicated.

Actually, it's still getting more crazy by the day because as of the last episode, John Estrada's character Edward Pierro had to work with John Lloyd's character Napoleon Riego and meet in Japan with Bea Alonzo's character Genevieve Saavedra to get one of their projects done and approved.

Well they are still pretty hopeful that they'll end up with each other (Bea and John Lloyd) and one of the items seen in the series is this...

The Proposal

It was a big secret and I was into it. I didn't really know what would happen that day; but since he's my cousin I went ahead and said yes for all the wrong (of course not!) and right reasons. I was happy for him and true enough we went ahead with the plan. The plan was for him to settle down but this wasn't an ordinary way to do it! He's got their engagement rings set, wedding rings and the whole brouhaha organized in just a couple of days. I was so glad to be a part of it!

I went up this huge building over the metro's business district and waited an hour or two. It was a radio station and the DJ was a friend of my cousin. They talked about this already so I didn't really have to brief them. When they arrived everyone became nervous. I didn't know how to shoot them secretly or even look at them straight in the eye. Since I was there already I just went with the flow. The DJ started a topic about traffic and higher toll fees during the show while we sat on the side and listened. They asked a question or two from callers and proceeded to ask my cousin. They pretended to ask around again and did it to the pretty young lady in this story. She didn't even want to move to the microphone and begged off to be aired on national radio. When she did they asked more questions. My cousin almost fainted from nervousness but went ahead and popped the question. Out came the gorgeous ring and she was really surprised! People became teary eyed in the station. I started shooting and even tried to manage to get a video recording. The moments were precious and I didn't want to lose any detail. It was heartwarming and something out of the ordinary. She gave a resounding YES to him. We smiled, he got relieved and cried (of course he won't admit that!). It was nice to see them so in love with each other. It was one of the nicest things I've ever seen in my life. I'm happy for my cousin and his fiancée. Really happy!

They just asked everyone to save the date on January and I'm sure this will be so much fun! I'm very happy his fiancée will soon be part of our family. I hope for the best on their wedding day!

Congratulations!

The Perfect Fit

Saturday, April 10, 2010

I am so happy I have friends getting engaged. Of course I am one of the few persons they ask about engagement and wedding rings. I guess I have established good taste in this field and I wouldn't want to brag about it but I did a pretty good job in the past. I have quite some knowledge about diamond cuts and how it looks like set on rings. I had some information through wedding sites and magazines how to choose one based on a person's personality. I have been witness to good choices in engagement rings but some of them end up with unattractive ones because they fail to ask people who know how it is. It is something personal but taste is a whole other universe to explain. Asking me would have saved them small ridicules from friends and family. The Internet too has a lot to offer. If they took a peek at RITANI for example, they would have never gotten mistakes about any of their choices. All that is offered there is fashionable and up to date. This in my case is a good place showcasing great taste in engagement/wedding bands/rings... when you need it most.

I would not want to see any of my friends suffering that same fate so I make it a point that I meddle in some way or another in their choices. Other than that, I would take time in pointing them to the right direction so that they know where to look for these things in the first place. I am so happy with our choices for them though because we got this new couple a princess cut for her engagement ring and a marquise cut for the wedding ring. It's the perfect fit!

Geri Halliwell Engaged!

Geri Halliwell with Groom to be Fabrizio Politi and daughter Bluebell Madonna

Good-looking, bad-tasting
Full-bodied, butt-wasting
Loose-living, tight-fitting
What you see ain't what you are getting
Big make-up, little break-up
She wants it, he's got it
Cold-blooded, hot gossip
Superficial expectations

Look at me
You can take it all because this face is free
Maybe next time use your eyes and look at me

And the song goes on for Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell as she gets engaged with Italian yacht tycoon boyfriend, Fabrizio Politi (ANYAMAN!) hehehe... She was given as a token of their commitment to each other an engagement ring over the festive season. Despite this fast and the furious relationship, Geri and Fabrizio had no plans yet of going down the isle. Neither one of their parties wanted to do so. But they are engaged still. What a setup! haha

There are no immediate plans for marriage as the couple are enjoying their engagement and they are usually going out together with Geri's daughter Bluebell Madonna in Paris or the Maldives Islands. Ginger Spice and Politi met at a Florence nightclub in December 2008 and have been inseprable eversince. Incredible!
