Senator Loren Legarda Lauds Outgoing Sonny Angara

Saturday, August 03, 2024

With the President deeming his qualities apt for the position, Senator Sonny Angara will be the new Secretary of Education. This is an important task especially since it is affecting millions of students, teachers and non teaching personnel, but since he has been in the senate for over a decade, Senator Loren Legarda wanted to convey her admiration for the young statesman.

She mentions how he has been able to dedicate years of hard work and service to the Filipino people, which she dubbed as his ability to listen, study and dedicate what he does for meaningful legislation. She also reiterated how dedicated he is in the Senate and hopes it be replicated in the halls of the Department of Education which he'll be taking over from former Secretary and VP of the country.

Senator Legarda says "Sonny has always been pushing boundaries, displays his competence and has been very efficient, hopefully apply great reforms in the education system. He has passed over 340 laws, sponsored/authored it. It's a reflection of how he has been dedicated to improve the lives of Filipinos across the country."

She adds "We will miss how eloquent you are, your sharp mind and how you effortlessly contribute good work in the Senate. We hope to work together for the benefit of the entire nation as you become the new Secretary of Education."

Later on, Sonny also mentioned how Senator Loren Legarda took him under her wing when she was still the leader of the Senate a few years ago. He was thankful for that opportunity, of being taken cared of when he was just starting.

Dreaming Big: Tadeo Paras

Friday, May 13, 2022

Meet Tadeo Paras, a 25 year old fashion photographer born and raised in the Philippines. He graduated from De La Salle - College of Saint Benilde and went to the US in 2019 to finish his masters in business at San Diego, California.

His fascination with movies came at an early age and he has always wondered how films were made. He says "I love how stories are being depicted on the silver screen and how it's being told." He had opportunities to act in top rating drama series in ABSCBN like "Wildflower" (during 2018) and "Nang Ngumiti ang Langit" (in 2019).  With this experience, his passion grew even bigger over the years.

He was also inspired by the work of Gordon von Steiner, one of the most sought after photographers in the world. His work consists of the who's who of international brands, supermodels, celebrities and a throng of unbelievable fashion spreads in Vogue Italia, and other countries. He's also done remarkable work in video editorials, working with gargantuan photographers in the field which is why he's obsessed with him and his craft.

Putting in the work, Paras is currently studying film making at Santa Monica College in the US. He plans to pursue further studies in other universities and augment skills in fashion photography. He dreams to become one soon and says "I've seen how the west does film projects and the difference in storytelling, the diversity in choosing actors. I'd like that to happen in the Philippines, to not just have the face for it, but the needed depth in our films. I believe this puts me at an advantage since I have theater and TV acting experience, this will surely help in my studies."

Paras continues to build experience in different projects making music videos, events, media, content creation and production. He also shot LA Fashion Week and a few more shows as restrictions ease stateside. His plans of making worthy films and stories that depict culture, quality, and the Filipino way of life is just the start. Can't wait to see him reach his dreams, with the flag on his sleeve every time.

Raising Standards: RLC Residences

Thursday, July 08, 2021

Robinsons Land Corporation just got their real estate residential division rebranded to RLC Residences. This is part of their thrust to improve the quality and style of their homes as they plan to continue to partner with world class companies for the design of their units here in the Philippines. This includes Robinsons Luxuria, Robinsons Residences and Robinsons Communities. Now that they are under one brand, the company would be able to provide seamless service and create safe spaces with their commitment to the Robinson's Land way of life. Here, you can definitely Raise, Live and Connect like what they want to achieve with their brand goals.

You can expect RLC Residences to have really good layouts as they have their residents lifestyle in mind. They think about the health and safety of individuals using their communal spaces, especially those who are just about to start raising their families. This includes how they design study areas, playgrounds and spaces for daycare. That's something that is important especially if first time parents are professionals who need these services.

RLC Residences have years of experience in tow, so they know how much you need a place for rest and recreation. If you need to be near work, places to buy food, drinks and essentials, religious structures, or have fun with your family, they will fit your lifestyle to a T so you can concentrate on what's important.

Changes also happen especially during the pandemic. Homes should also support work, make it easy for you to manage chores and stuff you want to do at home. Some of their units have smart appliances so you don't have to stress on things with the use of technology. This is just the start of what RLC Residences can do, modern and contemporary design that's homey, relatable and makes total sense. They want to lead in innovation and successfully adapt to the dynamic changes in the industry.

Who wouldn't want to live here?!

UBER Now has MULTIPLE STOPS Feature

Thursday, November 30, 2017

Had lunch with good people a couple of days ago, took an UBER to get there that afternoon. Didn't have any hitches because it's fairly easy to get an UBER X in my town to BGC. Lunch was good, the Manila Burger hit the spot. After this, I needed to go to GMA because of another event so I ran about BGC like crazy. My friends and I had to take photos of our outfits.

Armed with the long shirt from the new Oxygen David Bowie collection, Hair by Bing Dio Salon, Bench Skinny Jeans, Mossimo Jacket and my adorable White Chucks from Converse, I think I look cute!

When it was time to leave, my friends had to go to the archery range at Makati Cinema Square and I had to go to GMA but we wanted to save a buck or two and UBER was the convenient way to go. Now I remember about a month ago my UBER app suddenly had an update on it's interface, adding a + sign on the destination prompt. I used this feature to drop off my neighbor to his destination without the need to tell my UBER driver for a favor. It was an opportune time to use it.

Rodel, Ruth and Rod had to go to Kodanda in Makati while I needed to go to Quezon City. They also had to pick up tickets at the Mind Museum so now it's easy. Using UBER's MULTIPLE STOP Feature, I can just input The Mind Museum first, click the + sign and choose Makati Cinema Square for the second stop, then click the + sign again for GMA Network Center.

As you may have seen on the prompt you would need to make these stops to a maximum of three minutes so you won't be bothering your friends and the good UBER driver waiting too long. It's good etiquette if you follow that rule. :)

So now you only need to book one trip for your whole gang and save a lot for using MULTIPLE STOPS. You also help the environment because this exactly is like a car pool. Remember to also plot strategically so you won't be going around in circles. The nearest stops should be prioritized, so you and your friends have more time to get CLINGY if you are all bound to go home.

And judging from the way their photos looked, they had fun during their archery games at Makati Cinema Square's Kodanda. Next time, I'll be joining them there.

UBER is definitely improving the app and it's efficiency to get to your destination fast, affordable and efficiently. I would be using this more now from hereon.

Would this be a convenient choice for you too?
