WENDELL RAMOS at the Launch of WenDeli Meatshop

Wednesday, February 01, 2023

He's got one of the most gorgeous faces in Philippine showbiz, has got a body of a Greek god and women adore him. He's no other than noted actor and hunk Wendell Ramos. He has been industry for a long time and has cemented himself in the comedy and drama genres and hasn't lost his good looks even after Fatherhood stepped in and brought equally gorgeous kids in this world too.

It was severely hard to work during the pandemic and a lot of actors and his friends have had to approach him and ask for money in those difficult times. He didn't want to plainly just give them money, but instead an opportunity to work for it. He saw his wife dropping off meat products sourced from friends to earn a living. If there's an advantage, Wendell knew he had the network to do this on a larger scale. So in 2020, he sought the expertise of iFranchise Business Services Corporation and Commissary Kitchen. This is when WenDeli Meat House was born.

Initially he just wanted to help a few friends, but the folks at iFranchise Business Services Corporation saw a huge potential with this business model and sought to expand this business to kababayans in other countries so they too could become dealers as well.

Here's our video coverage of the event:

Krizzia Ann Loyang the President and CEO of iFranchise says "Thank you for being here this evening. Almost 3 years ago, the world stopped and with iFranchise, it was my responsibility to move forward. We have a family and businesses to sustain. We all had struggles but we just have to believe. With WenDeli Meat House, we were able to give employment and give back to communities. Being an OFW, I personally saw how Wendell supported our efforts in different countries, we knew our business had a heart and has created an impact. Through this platform, it would hone and improve the lives of our fellow Filipinos and bring our products here and around the world. We want to let them reach their dreams. We know we still have a lot of places to go to, thank you for supporting us, Wendell's family, my family and the whole iFranchise organization."

Joel Pascual of Commissary Kitchen says "Tonight is a story of resiliency, one day a man called Wendell Ramos approached us in the kitchen to develop a line of products, and the rest is history. During the pandemic, this was a gamble. Tonight we are celebrating the new direction and business model together with the iFranchise family. From our kitchen, it is now going global. We recognize opportunities and now we are acting on it."

WenDeli Meathouse products currently include Wendeli Longganisa, Wendeli Beef Tapa, Wendeli Tocino, and Wendeli Burger Patty. They also have spicy variants to cater to other peeps who want it with a little kick too.

You can be an official Reseller for as low as Pho 98K and a country Franchisee for Php 2.8M. It's got a lot of inclusions like use of trade name, ambassador and marketing collaterals, freezers, initial products, training and support, recipes, brand and marketing support for resellers. Country Franchisees on the other hand get the same perks plus operational help, training assistance abroad, a minimal 10% royalty/partnership fee and an 8 year contract with the company. It has already changed the lives of a lot of his friends, his family and OFW's based in Dubai, Africa, Japan, Portugal and others. If you want to be part of their growth, it would be wise to do it early so get in touch with them via wendelimeathouse@gmail.com or their social channels WenDeli Meathouse on FB or @WenDeli_Meathouse on IG. He's excited to be part of your journey!

ProPak Philippines Slated for February

Tuesday, November 08, 2022

The biggest processing and packaging event is going to happen this February 1-3, 2023 as ProPak Philippines will happen at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, Philippines. It has been quite a good venue to promote products in packaging, processing, machinery especially for food, beverages, pharmaceutical products, cosmetics and more.

Arch Prakasvudhisarn the Events Manager for Informa Markets says "With the industry needs in packaging technologies, we listen and studies so we can contribute in SME's. No one is left behind. These are many partners we work with in the industry. We are expecting 250 exhibitors including those from Italy, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia. For those looking for products and sustainable packaging, this is the perfect opportunity to see what could benefit your businesses and be part of the progressive solutions that can now be made here in the country."

Usec. Blesila Lantayona of DTI says "The pioneering edition of ProPak Philippines was very successful. DTI pushed for innovative packaging initiatives called Pak Pinas through seminars and trade fairs which is why we partnered with MSME Trade Council, DOST, and other private organizations to drive businesses to scale up by doing packaging, marketing, and certification through better technology. We will continue to support ProPak as we see huge potential, congratulations to ProPak Philippines!"

Dr. Jhino Ilano of the Export Marketing Bureau of DTI adds "January to September was a time when we increased imports compared to previous years. We are bouncing back compared to pre-pandemic values. We have seen 11% and continuously growing especially electronics, coconut oil and a lot of other products that have huge potential. We have shown huge export growth and can attribute it to improvement of Filipino products and sustainable ways of doing it."

Engr. Hignio Porte Jr. the President of Philippine Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association says "We partnered with Informa Markets and brought our members to Thailand and it has since made us the third biggest in SEA, but posting highest growth. From over the counter products, vitamins, minerals, immune boosting products including paracetamol was all sold out during the pandemic. There is still high demand and world market growth in the pharma industry. I envy Indonesia and Thailand as much of their products are locally produced before they get released in the country. I told congress about this and even DOH is getting medicine from India and China instead of locally doing it. We have world class distribution in the country, very comparable to products outside the country."

Antonio Tanael of Philippine Printing Technical Foundation also says "Packaging is going to be an important part of what's going to happen in February, we will be supporting ProPak Philippines and working with them hand in hand."

Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. President  Jeremiah Paul Morales says "In the Philippines, in every corner, there are franchise owners. We heeded the call of Franchise. ProPak Asia has helped us in learning more about packaging technologies especially in food where we are involved. Now that they are here, it is going to be more accessible for franchise owners this coming February."

Norman Camungol of Production and Operations Management Association of the Philippines says "This is the most important sector, with a higher multiply effect. It also affects supply chains, inducing demands for technology. We introduce changes and contribute to taxes. The manufacturing sector is now going digital, from web and email channels, it's challenging to make that experience better for the customer. Industries are using smartphones and do video conferencing. You also use apps, smart tech that are all here now. We also use analytics in lots of areas. Our lives are all connected on social media, and machines, systems, can also be like that. The diagnosis can be done quite fast. The ability also to connect to consumers is happening and it shortens sale cycles, delivering products at a faster pace. Before, it takes weeks to find customers but in Nueva Viscaya, there are a lot of farmers who already sell produce even before they get harvested. We need a holistic approach, and it shouldn't be one segment. We used to be a quarter of the economy and we want to have representation just like other countries parliaments. Our partners in packaging and we have partnered with ProPak and DTI in the field of manufacturing."

Anna Anastacio of GS1 Philippines says "We hope to be able to support local packaging especially our 116 member organizations around the world. Ours is the organization authorized to issue prefixes in barcode numbers. It allows products to be sold locally and internationally. It carries info on products, and GS1 Philippines will be in the ProPak event this February."

It's going to be a great place to see businesses and packaging professionals work together and level up your products. Make the trip to World Trade Center in Pasay. Get access in person, or visit informamarkets.com for more information.

Aiai Endorses SIOMAI KING

Wednesday, May 01, 2019

Siomai King Meets Comedy Concert Queen

I’m sure you’ve seen one near you because they’re literally everywhere. One of the most reputable food brands SIOMAI KING - is still serving Filipino favorite siomai in different varieties, but this time they’re making it more special. How you guess? Well let’s just say they’re putting a face in it, in the persona of comedy concert queen Aiai Delas Alas. Yes, she’s now the face of Siomai King. The brand is under JC Worldiwide Franchise Inc. who also is involved with direct selling and other brands.

Ms. Evelyn Guarin the current Franchise Manager of Siomai King says “It has always been a pleasure to work with a celebrity that has the people believe in. We are so happy to see Ms. Aiai be part of the Siomai King brand as we continue to grow more branches in the coming years. She is also our celebrity franchisee. Having her here as our #SiomaiNgInaMo is fitting as she becomes our Siomai King partner. Welcome!”

Siomai King Kiosks can also be franchised

Their Famous Chicken Siomai

Take Siomai with your friends and family

Love this!

Chicken Siomai gone in 3 minutes

Black Gulaman

Japanese Siomai

Hongkong Siomai

Ms. Aiai happily accepts the challenge and says “I actually plan to put up my own franchise in one of the SM Malls because I believe in the brand. What I like about Siomai King is that they’re not selfish, they give you your moneys worth every time because they are the first one who served 5 pcs of Siomai in one order, unlike in other brands that only serve 4 which feels so bitin. The 5th siomai is really the one that is so filling! I take my Siomai with rice because I am very Filipino, my first branch will be at Puregold Paso De Blas and I hope to have more branches soon!”

Siomai King currently serves Chicken Siomai, Hong Kong Siomai, Shanghai Siomai, Japanese Siomai served with rice and ice cold Gulaman too. The difference is, they serve 5 pieces of it instead of the usual 4 in the Philippines, so you’re assured you’re getting more for the same price. You may visit their website if you want to own one via jcfranchisinginc.com or email them at customersupport@jcfranchisinginc.com or their numbers 889-4773, 889-4774, 889-4775, 889-4776 or their mobile number 0917-852-3726. The franchise with equipment and utensils, personal training, ocular, opening and site assistance cost Php 258,888.

You may call this guy if you also want to know more!

I want siomai now, so bad! Good thing there's about 800+ branches nationwide and they are expanding outside the country.

Pitalicious Renews Pact with Endorser Aiai Delas Alas

Monday, October 01, 2018

The blessings still pour in for Ms. Aiai Delas Alas. This is officially her second year with popular shawarma brand Pitalicious which was established in 2012 by Brian and Gillian Ann Francisco. They set up shop in Market Place Mall in Mandaluyong, then got their second one at St. Francis Square in Julia Vargas Ortigas, their third one is at Star City. They got their franchising arm Pitalicious Franchising Corporation up on 2015 and has been heavily expanding since then.

Pitalicious prides itself of using 100% pure beef, home made marinades and always warm pita bread. They also encourage people to give them feedback so they could improve their products, not a lot of corporations do that.

Charlie the Operations Manager of Pitalicious “We want to ask for your support as Pitalicious expands throughout the Philippines. We will have more events and activations soon and I hope we would be able to have your support.”

Aiai says “I want to say thanks to their whole family for trusting me again to be their endorser and I know God is good, they got a lot of Pitalicious franchisees and seeing them help business owners become successful too, it warms my heart. Congratulations Pitalicious! I was supposed to own one because I was so eager to get it in my hood. I love the Chicken filling, even the beef, I like healthy stuff and this isn’t oily. I am happy to see and I pray for them secretly, and I’m glad to see them all flourish. I need to learn and do it because I am hands on, thank you to Pitalicious because they do that!”

Owner Ms. Gillian says “Our branches has increased 50% over the years and right now we have plans to do more. We even have new franchisees here so they see our efforts. We also train them hard for 5 days. The difference of our shawarma is that it is a home blend. You taste the smokiness, the secret is grilling beef that is sliced thinly. We have food carts, kiosks, and mini diners because people want to sometimes spend time sitting down and eating it. We make the ambiance apt for family and friends, it is what we always want to strive for.”

Congratulations Ms. Aiai and Pitalicious!

Tony Labrusca for Deja Blend

Sunday, July 01, 2018

When you hear Tony Labrusca now, what do you usually think about? Watched him during the BoybandPH stint, albeit not winning the competition, he was destined for stardome. An illustrious career in showbusiness, several projects and shows under his belt, a few movies here and there, and now not just an endorsement, but a part of this business called DEJA BLEND.

Deja Blend means already blended, which is something they've been working on in the past few years. They are so confident that they have perfected the flavors they have come out with and pretty much they are putting their names and this personality on the line. This person may have come from a reality show, impressed people and has a career in the making. He is officially investing in this beverage brand under WBC Food Kiosk they call DEJA BLEND The Perfect Blend. He has chosen to get involved in this as he sees showbusiness might turn out not to be forever. He's preparing for his own future.

Tony says "I am in showbiz but I want to secure my future, the next option for me was putting up a business. I'm happy to be part of the Deja Blend Family. I met him years ago (the owner and CEO) and when I asked to venture with him, they got me to do this. I feel like everything happens for a reason, I don't compare myself and I try to stay grateful, with Gods grace. I want to secure the life of my family and this was a no brainer. I am doing three movies this year, hopefully finish them all including indie movies. The third one is a secret. This is a huge opporunity and I just came at the right time. As for the Darna movie I am not sure yet, if I am to be chosen it would really be an honor. For Cinemalaya I am doing ML, it stands for Martial Law and it will be an interesting movie. It is timely, a thriller, I don't want to spoil things but it will be with me and Tito Eddie Garcia. He's the man, a new actor working with him, I learned a lot to bring out emotion because I was really afraid of him even though he's a very nice guy. The Cinema One film is a thriller too, in sports, I play a gymnast with Joem Bascon. This is a sports erotic thriller, something that would be crazy and will shock you guys, it's an amazing project because it's a messed up movie - I'll just sag there is a nymphomaniac. You'll see. We'll have a trailer too, one's a safe one and one that's red. Everything that is going to be shown has a reason for it, be shot artistically. My image is wholesome but I take movies seriously, I want to show people that I want to earn my spot seriously. When I was in highschool I had to take entrepreneurial class, I feel when it's my time it's my time. I'm not the most business savvy person so I need all the help I can get managing my finances.

Deja Blend is concentrating on 4 drink categories right now, the pearl teas, the Frapuccino, the milk teas and the Lemonoids. They want to work with entrepreneurs, Filipinos outside the country too and help you put up your own franchise. You may talk to their franchise team if you are eager to get your business started.

Their tea is not that sweet, they want it that way and you could customize sugar levels in every store. Branches are in Taytay, one in front of UE Dentistry building in Recto- soon in 999 Divisoria Mall, and others to follow soon. "For 550 K (their franchise fee) you can enter and manage it, we are lower than usual businesses because we have suppliers. Sell it for 60-70-80, people can earn a lot. This includes training, manpower management, but accounting will be yours. After your ROI, we will plan many things for you. We will also have activations, it will have Tony involved in it so you will see him more. You may search for us in Facebook just put in Deja Blend and I'll personally answer your queries." says JR Cruz, the Operator and Owner of WBC Food Kiosk.

For what it's worth, Tony knows how to market himself, trying different things, shooting while the iron is hot. He's one of the most good looking actors this country has seen, he can also sing, and now even manage an up and coming brand that he surely believes in.

I tried it myself and those Lemonoids and best selling teas really hit the spot, I envy him for doing these things even if he's so busy with his current commitments. You'll love him even more now that he's starting to grow his business. He's very down to earth too, I am glad to have been able to talk to him even for a few minutes.

Contact them through Facebook at Deja Blends and get your own business running! It's darn good!

Aiai On A Roll with Pitalicious Shawarma

Tuesday, October 03, 2017

It looks like Ms. Aiai Delas Alas is on a roll. After having a presscon yesterday for her new movie Bes and the Beshies, here she goes endorsing a new product with PITALICIOUS SHAWARMA. It's a company owned by Mr. and Mrs. Gillian and Bryan Francisco who currently owns 5 of them. As of today they have about 35 franchisees around the country and are gearing to have a hundred before the year ends.

During the blog con Ms. Aiai says "Here we go again, I'm the brand ambassadress for Pitalocious, thanks to the owners who believed in me. In any product that I endorse, it's not oily, it's marinated with the owners special recipe. I tried it first and I'm impressed. I am not just doing this with lip service but I'll be also investing by owning my own kiosk. Though I have friends that also endorse shawarma brands, but I think their audience is different. We are mostly for families, for moms and dads, for kids, for lolo and lola, and he's like a son to me so there's no conflict. My kids actually love the products especially the BEEF."

She adds "They also love the Shawarma Rice, the Siopao, and maybe if the owners allow me later on to also include organic chicken, I'll be glad to incorporate that in my stores. My wedding will happen in December, I'm really excited just like any other bride but this is a dream for me. Right now PITALICIOUS can be seen in Marketplace Mandaluyong, Tomas Morato, SM Pasig, and a lot more... maybe if all else goes right Ms Ai will put up one in Shangrila soon. I also have a nephew in SM so I might put one also there. In every business you need to put your heart into it, and give it time, like babies, like plants if you don't give that to them. You have to do it with passion, because I have failed businesses in the past, that's what I learned from my experiences. So I will take a look at this business closely, that's the secret."

Anna Francheska Lara, Pitalicious' Marketing head told us "This is our first time to get an endorser and we chose Ms. Ai, it's a family business, very fanily oriented and getting her was no brainer. For the price, we have 55 pesos, buy one take one for 100 pesos. We have 5 company owned stores, about 35 branches country wide. Franchises are dependent on 148-188-240 and everything will be included. We assist in choosing locations, we find problems and support our franchisees to boost your business. We don't actually have franchise fees or royalties for the first three years, it's a good thing we had signups last weekend because they trust the company and Ms Aiai. The promise for ROI is about 6-7 months and we push to help them by going there personally."

"We will be talking soon with Ms. Ai if there will be a TVC, you'll hear about it soon. You may take a look at our products online on Pitalicious.com. We train franchisees and let them hire people that they trust (or personally man it) so that there would be no issues with the earnings of the business."

Owner Ms. Gillian Francisco adds "My husband is an expert in electrical, and I take care of food and the commisary. We are very detailed and passionate about this so if we're looking for owners with the same characteristics as us. We worked in the corporate world and felt we needed more time for ourselves, and our family so we never looked back after our first few stores. We had Ms. Aiai because she's very family centric, and our brand stems from that because we believe that with passion, any business like ours would flourish especially in the food industry."

Good luck and congratulations Ms. Aiai! My Pitalicious be another successful venture!

Philippine Franchise Association Honors Toby's Sports

Saturday, August 05, 2017

You and I have been able to visit a Toby's Sports store in our lifetime to buy the best supplies, equipment, and just about everything that you would need for sports. It's where I bought weights, shirts, basketball, volleyball, my tennis rackets, ones for badminton, and just about almost every hobby we've done these past few years. You got your stuff in excellent quality, you got it from the people who work tirelessly to get you the best the market could actually afford. Recently, the Franchise Excellence Awards has bestowed a rightful one for them, Toby's Sports is now a proud owner of the Outstanding Filipino Franchise Retail Award for the Large Store Category.

This is the award given to them by the Philippine Franchise Association at the SMX Convention Center last July 19. I deem they rightfully deserve this award for over the top customer experience as I've always had when inside their store. The award is only given to companies that have shown exceptional growth performance, brand value, and does ethical business practices. This definitely brings the value of the franchise business even further as their standards will eventually become higher to achieve these goals. The Department of Trade and Industry is also a partner in this awards show so you are also getting the nod of the government if you win an award of this magnitude.

Mr. Toby Claudio, the President of Quorum International Incorporated says "We have had several successful franchisees in the business since 1988 and the number continues to grow in malls and shops in different parts of the country. We hope to continue to have these qualities that have had us win this award, and pursue excellence as we continue to be the largest sports retailer in the country."

Congratulations to the men and women behind Toby's Sports for winning this award, I wouldn't have had those perfect shoes for workout without one of your people helping me in your store. I'm glad they've gone beyond just selling and asked me what I needed those shoes for and found the perfect one.

Kroketten: Yummy Affordable Treats Pinoys Would Absolutely Love!

Saturday, June 30, 2012

Here's another thing to indulge on if you pass by the Mall of Asia grounds South Wing. This is Kroketten a unique snack you can munch on while going around the mall or watching events at the MOA Arena or even take home. (which doesn't come with a cute Dutch girl carrying these awesome potato balls!)

Seeing people line up on the stall that afternoon was a welcome sight. This is apparently their 13th stall and is still in its "infancy" but hearing the rave reviews from people who have experienced it this will surely hit Manila by storm. Imagine soft, delicate potato mash balled/rolled up and breaded, then fried over healthy corn oil, oozing with a variety of fillings you'll surely love. Although I am quite familiar with the French croquettes which are common sightings in parties, this new rendition of an old favorite is a welcome treat!

They also explained to us the snack's Filipino twist and how this came about because these things probably would only come in a few flavors if they followed the Dutch standard. They had to make sure and study the Filipino palate, adapt to it and create a totally different line of flavors which we would appreciate. When this snack was being brought back from Ms. Maribel Bosch's trips from the Netherlands. She always brought boxes of these and sent them as pasalubongs whenever she can. Being a Mom and and entrepreneur wasn't easy. She felt people would really appreciate things like these so when she got the chance to put up something in her kid's school, she went ahead and got this sold. The acceptance was so overwhelming that she knew she had to make this a business. I was really worried about the "very cheap" price point but she insists it should be this way because she wanted it to become affordable. I couldn't agree more. The scrumptious creations came in Original Kroket, Kroketballen and Miniballen versions. I love the Kroketballen because of its perfect size and variety it came on.

Aside from the Cheese, Chicken and Beef Fillings, you should also try the variety of sauces that they have for the Krokette. I specifically love the spicy paprika based sauce so make sure you try that out. They don't even think of holding back in ingredients so it was so nice to catch these concoctions on its rawest form. There are also not so sweet fresh fruit juice mixes that I so envy them about. The one with the Vers en Snel label on it was so nice I had seconds. It tasted mighty good and comes in Mango-Guyabano and Strawberry-Passion Fruit flavors.

It was so awesome to see the owner that evening too. She was so warm and inviting. She made sure to have come up to each and everyone of us to cater to our questions. You really feel her passion for food and why she's so enthusiastic about getting this to the market. Best of all she's sharing this out. Her franchise fees only costs 50,000 pesos, with and 195,000 peso +VAT investment you can start your own branch anywhere in the Philippines. Although the product remarkable gets a quick ROI they still pegged it at a very low rate. I wouldn't be surprised if I get one of these for my own soon.
