2021 GINEBRA Jersey and Cap Collection Launch "Bagong Tapang sa One Ginebra Nation"

Thursday, April 22, 2021

This is one of the most awaited events of the year and because of the pandemic, things have not been as normal as they should be. Ginebra San Miguel won't be beat so they now are launching the 2021 Ginebra Jersey and Cap Collection which was done through a live stream on their official Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/BarangayGinebra. This is their first virtual launch dedicated to all their consumers and appearing during the event are Ginebra superstars #5 LA Tenorio, #6 Scottie Thompson, #47 Mark Caguioa, #11 Stanley Pringle and #25 Japeth Aguilar. Participating products include GSM Blue, Ginebra San Miguel Premium Gin, Vino Kulafu, Ginebra San Miguel, Primera Light Brandy, and Anejo Gold Rum. Ginebra has always believed in the Filipino spirit and through this campaign, they want you to embody the "Bagong Tapang" we need to survive this pandemic and become the worthy people our loved ones believe in when times are rough.

I played the online basketball shootout and managed to drop some shots.

Ginebra also launched their own website for this particular campaign over at https://1ginebranation.com. It's got information about their beverages, some basketball games, photos of previous Ginebra teams which have been collected through the years and the full mechanics on how to get the Jersey and Caps that are part of this collection.

Emmanuel Macalalag the COO for Spirits of San Miguel Food and Beverage Inc. and GM of Ginebra says "The need for unity to rise beyond challenges, this is what Ginebra and the Gin Kings embodies. The passion for the game, the never die spirit can serve as an inspiration for many Filipinos. We partnered with Gawad Kalinga to help Filipinos, as every Jersey and Cap claimed will support programs of this organization."

The challenge of the bubble conference of the PBA also was hard for all the professional basketball players and the Ginebra Kings is also part of that. The experience of doing the bubble made them even closer as it forced them to live together for the duration of the conference. They even dedicated all their games to their loved ones, and to the thousands of fans they have across the country. The players also are hopeful that everything would be back to normal, and wish for everyone's safety.

Now how do you get the Jersey and Caps? What do you need to do to get one?

You need to collect 6 Caps of any participating brand under Ginebra San Miguel and pay 100 for the shirt and 150 for the cap to get them. I saw how the players wore them during the launch and I'm eyeing the Caguioa Jersey and Cap myself <3 You then can get it via participating Puregold branches nationwide!

As you can see it's so easy to actually get one, they really made it that way so they could help the organization they are supporting and as a THANK YOU for all their fans. Now what else is there to do but to get your own products, use the caps and exchange them for the collectible Jerseys and Caps plus the corresponding amount you have to pay for. Just the thought of it going to the NGO makes me so happy that they thought about it during this time. They chose to help, and that is even worth more than their recent championship!

Congratulations Ginebra!

PLDT SMART SME Nation Hold The Bozz Awards

Friday, October 30, 2015

We had the chance to cover PLDT - SMART SME Nation's The Bozz Awards a few nights ago in the spectacular pool at the Palace. I was wondering what it was for and I only learned about it when they started calling nominees. Basically, it's an awards show for the SME's who have enthusiastically embraced social media, selling online, and creating above and beyond influence in their respective channels, then provide superior customer service. I think it's but a good thing to do that because these entrepreneurs not only give themselves a good name, but the country as well.

Aside from spectacular Smart business packages including laptops and stuff, they're also going to win a one of a kind Kenneth Cobunpue designed trophy to go with that. They also won trips to Silicon Valley just by being one of the finalists which was announced later on in the show.

My idol in anything videography related is Mr. Jason Magbanua (who I think is also my compadre) and he won the category or Social Media. Another winner was Kim of the popular Kimstore. So just imagine the level of nominees in this event right?

To cap it off, they also surprised us with the presence of my rock god Ely Buendia who sang some of his Eraserhead hits and his own compositions. I loved this night, thanks PLDT and SMART for having me! :) Visit https://www.facebook.com/SMENation for more details about the event!

Blogopolis Into The Wild: Jim Paredes and The new nation 2.0

Saturday, November 16, 2013

Jim Paredes whom I met in the Kota Kinabalu trip a few months ago is now talking about The New Nation. He's comparing a lot of things from the past and telling us a little about doing morse code and smoke signals online.

How traditional media use bloggers now is unprecedented. Finding connections with people is good change, he even made a sample on how he's going to ship 600 tons of relief for Yolanda victims.

Without it, it would have been harder. If you are going to expose yourself to the world, do it the right way. You must have the bigness of heart when you're wrong. That's the best way to solve it on social media. I agree, that's awesome.

Updates later peeps! Live blogging in blogopolis!

Freeway + F. Sionil Jose (National Artist for Literature) = Bliss!

Tuesday, June 07, 2011

Francisco Sionil Jose + FREEWAY Event The Row, Glorietta 5 May 31, 2011

W
hen the heavens above decided to bless me dearly it made sure that I get everything that I want and MORE. I just met an awesome lot of people from FREEWAY’s launch of National Artist Collectors’ Series Fall 2011 Collection honoring the National Artist for Literature F. Sionil José. I just finished reading his book "To the Young Writer and Other Essays" yesterday (signed by the great writer too!) and learned a lot why people adore him and his works. If you don't get the idea, think about this: he's got these books translated in 22 different languages; released internationally. Critically acclaimed by the most discerning book reviewers here and abroad. Take a look at what some of them said here:

"...the foremost Filipino novelist in English... his novels deserve a much wider readership than the Philippines can offer. His major work, the Rosales saga, can be read as an allegory for the Filipino in search of an identity..."

- Ian Buruma, The New York Review of Books

"Sionil José writes English prose with a passion that, at its best moments, transcends the immediate scene. (He) is a masterful short story writer..."

- Christine Chapman, International Herald Tribune, Paris

"...America has no counterpart to José - no one who is simultaneously a prolific novelist, a social and political organizer, and a small scale entrepreneur...José's identity has equipped him to be fully sensitive to the nation's miseries without succumbing, like many of his characters to corruption or despair...

- James Fallows, The Atlantic Monthly

"...The reader of his well crafted stories will learn more about the Philippines, its people and its concerns than from any journalistic account or from a holiday trip there. José's books takes us to the heart of the Filipino mind and soul, to the strengths and weaknesses of its men, women, and culture.

- Lynne Bundesen, Los Angeles Times

That's just the tip of the iceberg! I'm not surprised though that he has been given several international awards and also the National Artist for Literature in 2001. People have also been clamoring for his inclusion in Nobel's Prize for Literature (which I also asked about during the event) and he gamely agrees with them too. He said that the honor would not be for him alone; it was for the country; and the prize at stake wouldn't be a joke either! What initially made me surprised though was the fact that Freeway is going to inspire some of their pieces with his novels. How that is going to work? I'm as clueless as you are but when I saw them there, it was REALLY nice!

Fashion + Literature Icon = Freeway

The intricate details and words printed on the dresses all worked! This is the first time that I saw how they do this; now it makes sense. In fact, there were other pieces there with inspiration from Larry Alcala and other well known Philippine designers. This is how Freeway pay homage to Philippine Icons and sure enough, Francisco Sionil Jose was well worth it!

The famous F. Sionil Jose

The event was also hosted by Prima Ballerina (Ageless!) Ms. Lisa Macuja-Elizalde!

Ermita and another novel was read by the talented, classy and sophisticated Ms. Cherie Gil!

Lourd Ernest Hanopol de Veyra also an awarded poet in his right also read one of F. Sionil Jose's books from the Rosales Saga.

The Man himself answered questions from the audience! We even ran out of questions! LOL!

Thank you so much to Freeway who continue to recognize and pay homage to our National Artists, you should be proud of what you are doing for the Filipino consumer!

So go ahead and grab those F. Sionil Jose inspired dresses and shirts at Freeway stores nationwide!

Mumbai, India Terror Attacks

Thursday, November 27, 2008

Firefighters try to douse a fire at the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai, India.

I watched CNN this morning and saw the attacks in Mumbai, India. I saw a lot of people dead... last count was 120 I think... and they are still holding some hostages. I know a couple of people in that city because of my work... and some of them are also my blogging friends. I together with other people are extremely worried. This is a true act of terror.

Muslim Militants thought to be tied to extremists outside of this country stormed railway systems, business establishments and now this hotel this Wednesday and Thursday in a so called coordinated attack against this country, their prime minister said. This is creepy, he's one of the terrorists who stormed the Taj Mahal Hotel. Look at his face OMG! O_O

World leaders are appalled by the said act and urged the government of India to take quick actions to stop this acts of terror throughout their country. I just hope this does not happen to yours or my neighborhood! I pray that everyone would be safe... and these terrorists be put to justice after these attacks. As of this writing they are still holding hostages inside the building and in different locations around India. Let us pray for them that they get through this.
